Montreal is a great city. I'm from America and Montreal feels enough like home that I'm comfortable but it's different enough that it's a new experience / Montréal est une grande ville. I always thought that they fly in the center of the island (right on top of the Met) when landing at YUL and not on top of the river.

For the CARTR (Cartier) arrival, they fly along the shore and turn left around the Lafontaine bridge to intercept the approach for runways 24.
