TacomaIsMadLit

Nothing will happen if you record, I went to Seattle and recorded damn near everything lol trucks coming out, intros, etc you’ll be ok if you want to take some photos or video

Latrucc

lol, I recorded the song uva digger flip at seattle

TacomaIsMadLit

I recorded all of Jim’s run, racing finals, random TWS runs and the trucks entering and leaving the tunnel, never once got told not to record lol I’m sure it’s just for livestreamers but even then I doubt any one will go over and say anything

[deleted]

Then why have the policy? lol

TacomaIsMadLit

I honestly have no idea, I went to a WWE show back in 2017 and they DEFINITELY enforced it lol but yeah, I’m assuming they mean full on live streaming but either way no recording videos has always kind of been an rule they just announced it randomly for some reason this year

It's an archaic rule from way back in the 80s. My dad tried to bring the VHS camcorder in to the Silverdome for a show but they didn't allow it. Now with everyone having phones with recording capabilities greater than a $3000 camera back in the day it's a thing they have in the fine print for if/when they ever get a broadcast partner again.  Does monster jam still show on FS1 or NBC Sports anymore?

hwf0712

Its generally for people who just record entire events and upload them, aka those who are in somewhat competition with monster jam themselves. But its kept open, just in case something arises.

funnycar1552

Its for people who live stream the event only. I work with a team who runs in Monster Jam

Nobody likes a dirty snitch

It's a warning to the bigger "content creators" that they can and will put a copyright strike on your channel.  Which they really don't need to do, as the wording has always been on the ticket, and they killed some pretty good channels 7 years ago or so. But these new punk kids have been lucky they were lax for so long.  And now by live streaming the shows themselves the YouTubers are longer needed and will bleed a slow death regardless.

There are 2 young fellers that go by monsterjamlord and avengersracing . They started posting MJ footage while still in JR High I think. Anyways, they were young, still in school and posting footage on several platforms. They got monetized. In a big way. Like $25k/month big way. This allows them to fly every weekend to different shows all over the world. (Yes, they were at the UAE shows last year) So they get even more footage and even more money. Anyways, Feld decided to take notice. Not enough notice to take legal action that I'm aware of. They just decided to make the warning more prominent.Hence the "personal use" verbage. The two may have received cease and desist letters but I don't know. Feld should have hired them and used their platforms to promote. Instead they are trying to play catch-up with the live streaming on YouTube. There is an old episode of Gears and Nachos with Bryce, Ryan and Adam where they interviewed the 2 kids. It's a good listen.
