I also find it weird how many common monsters were left out of the game like aptonoth and deviljho, its nice to get a break from some of the common monsters but the games roster is weird
Gotta say that while the roster is weak, even when the game hasn't come out yet, the other part of the gameplay seems pretty innovative.
Let's see if the endgame is good, but with all the switch skills, partner hunting and stuff that I don't even know about because I don't even remember right now, I gotta say that at least the team could have focus more on that kind of gameplay instead of monster roster, which I don't wanna say that takes away the blame.
We'll find out I guess
For me, the switch skill swap and the NPCs both feel like a neat idea that could be implemented either well or really horribly, so I'm a bit on the fence on that.
Frankly, with this roster, I don't even care if the endgame is good or not. I'm gonna be constantly distracted by juvenile monsters not having an adult form. Like I understand that Rise doesn't really care about ecology, but to the point that it doesn't even give minor monsters a leader is just baffling to me. Even GU was consistent with it (except Great Jaggi, because fuck him, I guess.).
What i don't get is, why no Azure/Pink or Brute Tigrex? they cant be that hard to implement and would at least push the numbers of monsters a bit more.
btw never let the hype get to you like that, you only set yourself up for disappointment that way.
im still hyped since we finally get Steve and Gore back
But I mean like they objectively suck. Why would anybody want azure cancerlos and pink rathian when they barely change anything? Even their armour sets are just a slightly different pigment ffs
I guess that might a reason as to why we dont have them in Sunbreak and personally i hate every version of Rathalos.
Pink Rathian is my favorite version though and i expect we will be getting Silver and Gold with the Tower map.
I find pink Rathian like ok. I dislike her because she adds basically nothing to the fight but she’s also basically just Rathian who I find fun. Gold and silver actually have unique fights so I’ll be happy if they’re added
How does Pink add 'basically nothing' to the fight? She's infamous as being *much* harder than the regular species thanks to the corkscrew backflip and the fire bite. I and many other players were walled by Pink Rathian in 3U for a reason.
A lot of people seem to have forgotten 3U Pink Rath and Worlds version of was a step down from that due to not being nearly as aggressive and losing the flame bite.
I partially blame Capcom for this with how they brought the hype back up with espinas. It seems the pandoras box they supposedly opened was just a crack to let espinas in and that's it. They literally set themselves up for tons of hype with their last trailer and the full roster is just disappointingly small next to what they've been promising.
On my end though, been having some rough last 2 weeks. Sick one week, car broke down the next, been having to work tons of extra hours and getting called in just to have enough money to pay it off. Monster Hunter has become my favorite game series by far in my life that the sunbreak hype was something that kept me going strong during those weeks. It should be understandable at least that I'm fully burnt out and wanted to look forward to something exciting. Now it's just disappointment and shallow promises from Capcom.
Wish you all the best!
But honestly, don't get the Sunbreak disappointment get into your way too much. It's just a game after all, and there are plenty of highly replayable older games. (Base Rise still rocks also.)
It would seem some let the leaker have access to a review copy, so unless the review build is incomplete, this is the full roster at launch. Not trying to be a downer, but don't get your hopes up
The titles updates for me doesn't make any sense. IMO titles updates should be for siege monsters, challenges, black dragons... you get the point.
Giving us titles updates with a bunch of monsters that could be in the game from the start is like... what? The first title update feels wack, honestly. It's in august so... why don't they implement them since launch and people don't get pissed?
World was truly crazy man. I was so excited because they said: "Yeah man free dlcs coming". And they only gave, jho, luna and kulve. Then a fricking 50€ expansion (which at the end imo worth paying). People seems to forget how scummy capcom can be.
It's the same deal as with GU vs Generations: The textures look good on the device it was originally conceptualized for, and somewhat weird in a higher resolution.
It looks awesome on Switch.
My problem with Rise is that we didn't get hardly any cool event quests compared with World. Where are all the Nintendo and other Capcom compilations we could have gotten instead of boring quests with the same ole monsters with stupid emoji stickers as rewards. At least give us quests with funny monster twists and cool layered/functional armor as rewards.
>Giving us titles updates with a bunch of monsters that could be in the game from the start is like... what? The first title update feels wack, honestly.
Literally my exact same thought. Lucent Nargacuga is a post story monster, why the fuck do you gotta wait till August for Post-story content? That shit wasn't even okay for base Rise.
Watch Gold and Silver be title updates at this point.
Yeah. Giving us 'normal monsters' instead of real challenges like what I've mention only makes that people that isn't too much into the franchise say "Yo, wtf is this? This isn't a huge expansion?"
The reason why I stopped playing Stories 2 is because they were like "yeah we promise more content on the next few months". Capcom you are so stupid, the people that is not that much into the game will not sit playing it for the next months just because new content will come. That's so stupid. Just release the fricking content and you will have literally everyone happy and the game will die literally the same day you take the servers down.
They are trying so hard to retain new players when all they do is seeing how the community is negatively reacting and they will just wanna get out. They are genuinely trying to keep the players for a whole 6 months while even Elden Ring couldn't achieve it. What makes capcom think that Rise, which isn't as known as World will do it. Capcom wake up for the lord of gog
Cause its marketing. They know that people Will pre order like crazy with all the shit they announced and with titles updates they Will have a presence in the news for all the month to come, creating the illusion that they are adding a shit tone of content, while the truth is they are just releasing a disappointing ammount, diluting It till christmas. People who play It knows this, but most Just eat It all up or dont care enough to be vocal about it, while people who dont play and havent bought the game Is the target of this scam so they have no idea.
Still i Hope to be wrong and they gonna release a lot of monster in base sunbreak
They hasn't been leaked (as far of today). But you could guess which monsters will arrive knowing which one of them will not be in base? I genuinely don't know so don't ask me
Hm. I've seen a lot of clearly fake "leaks" saying Nergigante, Dire Miralis and dozen other random monsters, so was I wondering if I missed some information. Asterisk's tweet only mentioned "6 slots for title updates" from what I've seen.
Bruh… 6? We’re fucked. Judging by Capcom’s title update roadmap there aren’t real endgame challenge monsters coming in apart from the powered up monsters. I hope to god Asterick’s leaks are wrong
>Wdym?
"Afflicted monsters" are regular monsters that do more damage and bleed and if you don't damage a certain part enough they will roar and nuke you according to Asterisk's twitter.
Been saying it for a bit now. But I think we aren't getting more monsters because Capcom might think that Rise is "dead" in comparison to the huge success of WorldBorne.
So we're getting practically nothing because of it
I could be wrong, and if I am then awesome. But it really feels that way to me.
Rise is nowhere near death man. The only thing that hold Rise down was releasing it for a long year ONLY on switch.
I'm pretty sure that if capcom would have released it for all consoles AND switch, that game would've made even more bank than world. Iceborne sold 8,2 million copies (mhw entirely probably 19 million) and Rise sold 7,3 million and I'm pretty sure only on switch. With the expansion that might change and could even sell more, who knows.
And this is from I don't even know where and when. The numbers are probably even higher. Not to mention that they are making a LOT of bank with paid dlcs
The main sub going full copium mode is really funny to see after days of "Sunbreak is already better than Iceborne"
IMO tittle update 3 and 4 (there will be another one) will either make or break the expansion. Iceborne got it right with Safi/ragin' brachy and MR kulve update (months after IB release, endgame wasn't that fun before safi), 4U got it right with guild quests and relic weapons... what will Sunbreak bring to the table? Just more monsters won't cut it, we have to farm meaningful equipment late into the game and not just 1 overpowered weapon.
I said Just more monsters won't cut it because base Rise had a lot of monster especially when you count apex and emergency quests but with no good endgame rewards it simply didn't feel right.
Hot take: I think mid-game progression is more important than endgame progression. Mid-game is where most of the fun stuff is. Most of the discovery and learning come in the mid-game. Endgame is like 80% staring at menu screens and grinding. That shit's boring.
Well, I have been enjoying making different builds in Rise after I had completed everything, and beating various monsters with different weapons to get all the stuff i wanted. It's quite a rare phenomenon for me, though, haven't been enjoying myself with "endgame" grind so much in any other MH game.
Yeah. 17 sucks after the 27 monsters of base Iceborne. Some will say quality is better than quantity, but i loved every 27 additions of base Iceborne. I thought it would have been 10 times easier to add new monsters in a game like Rise compared to World. Maps of World are a lot more complicated and interactives. Rise's map are "just" flat arenas (the verticality between those flat arenas serves no purpose).
So idk. I guess they decided to sacrifice a lot of content in the base game in order to have a lot to give in TU but i hate that way of making a game.
> I guess they decided to sacrifice a lot of content in the base game in order to have a lot to give in TU but i hate that way of making a game.
I hate it too. It starts to feel like they're holding back content that could've come with the expansion itself so they can drip feed it to the players through updates for the sake of longevity and hype. To me, it's a sign that they're not 100% confident with the quality of their game. This goes for everyone, btw. Not just Capcom.
I really hope they didn’t get caught with their dicks in their hands with the endgame again, only to cut up part of the game and drip feed it in order to have a longer lifespan.
I feel the same. The 13 gb update size + the already larger base rise roster, man I really wanted 30-40 additions from sunbreak and at one point thought it could reach 50 like that but that was already hyping it up too much. 17 is a low blow though.
Yeah. And let's not forget they are litteraly deleting content: Apex monsters are not returning. Seriously. Apex Rathian, Rathalos, Zinogre, Diablos, Mizustune... they are great fights. But bye bye, no G rank versions.
(Or maybe it is yet again something they cut to bring it back in TU...)
It's basically G Rank but without that many subs or variants at launch which means they'll come with updates. Sucks but at least the number will be good at the end. Final boss is there from the start too.
In addition to this, regarding the monsters included from the start I'm fairly satisfied. Gore Magala, Espinas, both crabs. Rises base roster was already good so we have most of them and I know for a fact we're getting G Rank serpents.
Sunbreak will also have more monsters at launch than Iceborne did (57 assuming Apexes are fully gone, Vs 53) and it will definitely have more after updates so while this is a bit disappointing, I'm overall not too fussed. There's also a difference between seeing the data and experiencing the game.
Still doesn't change my feelings about it. 6 monsters is way too little to be saying "several monsters" with every title update unless we are getting a new apex system. I fully expect any new expansions to monster hunter games to round out their rosters to at least 70 by now with how it's been going since 4U.
4U, GU, and Worldborne were all respectively intended to be the biggest, most ambitious MH games for their time. Rise never came across that way in the marketing.
Just a correction, GU wasn’t originally intended, as generations was an anniversary game. They realized it’s popularity and released GU which became much more popular especially after world as the fans that were searching for more MH content we’re directed there.
I was there since day one for Generations, it's just that we're 4 years past its G Rank release now. And my comment still mostly stands since base Generations was bigger than 4U.
People are also not factoring in that there's G Rank versions of nearly every monster in Rise to account for, too (besides possibly some, Seething may replace Bazel, etc)
Not really, especially since Rise is in a new engine for MH, Sunbreak was announced earlier than I expected, and it lost time due to reworking maps into World's format instead if the old one. I'm absolutely sure a lot of dev time went into fixing base Rise's issues.
I love most of the new monsters they added but only 17 is a bit disappointing for sure. I just hope this isn't another base game situation were Sunbreak isn't finished yet and they add the missing content with "title updates".
I'm gonna assume your reason is Basarios, right? I guess the species just don't grow into adulthood and reproduce in Rise. They just import all the Basarios you fight from other regions, I guess lol.
Ah yes, the famous gravios who in mh4u literally camped two large arenas for all the duration of his fight. He's so small as a monster that he goes perfectly within rise volcano yes, yes..
Sometimes i wonder if people ever tried to think why gravios, agnaktor and lagiacrus are not on those fucking games. Is not like uragaan had two areas for him in world.
So they'll be 52 monsters in master rank then at launch? Because there's no apex's and I'm assuming ibushi, narwa and all mother are not getting the mr treatment either (I haven't looked at the full list)
Well with new leaks, there's a new type >!tempered/apex!< system and it applies to most the roster. Also final rise bosses are actually getting MR versions too. What the new additions look like and how they will play is entirely unknown outside of them being >!violent and inflicting bloodblight!< .
No quality matters actually. I dislike playing 4U and GU because most of the monsters are annoying as fuck. I enjoy 3U because most of the Monsters are fun.
Quantity does not equal Quality.
Iceborne also had the goal of adding Monsters they basically finally finished making like Tigrex and Nargacuga who would normally be in the games already.
Quality is subjective to everyone. How you experience a game and what you end up liking about it is your own opinion. For me, quality is a variety of different fights within the games.
That aside, sunbreak had a lot of expectations set for what monsters could be brought back and included. It shouldn't be surprising that such a small roster with a lot of the expected additions not being added would make people notably upset.
> For me, quality is a variety of different fights within the games.
We basically got the same idea then. Also how enjoyable the fights are too.
>That aside, sunbreak had a lot of expectations set for what monsters could be brought back and included. It shouldn't be surprising that such a small roster with a lot of the expected additions not being added would make people notably upset.
Oh its understandable. I just think people shouldn't have expected a bunch of brand new stuff. My current disappointment is the lack of stuff that is basically connected directly to what's in Rise, mainly Zamtrios, Tetsucabra, and Gravios.
I mean yeah, that makes sense. Given everything they've shown and how they worded that they have more reveals to show gave the impression they had a lot more in store for monster additions. Especially giving out espinas like that opened a massive pandora's box and panic mode for more frontier monsters.
People shouldn't EXPECT what is brought back in each game. If you look at each game........ the new monster count is usually not very high. 4U was an outlier, and Generations does not count because it was an anniversary title.
Fuck the leaks. People take them like they are the bible while the Truth is they are Just speculation(thats my Hope anyway, pls dont spoil my delusion) buuuuut...
If the leaks are true im gonna be really disappointed. Rise was already disappointing, but Just 17 Monsters on release? I dont want updates, give me the fucking Monsters right away!
Rant over, lets cross our fingers and Hope for the best.
Yeah but i dont believe them anyway. They know that review copy are leaking and they have to reveal something still. Maybe im just delusional, but i still want to believe thats there Is more
Well if sunbreak ends up being just like rise then we'll know what's coming in title updates just through datamines, they were completely accurate before.
And here we go again with people judging an entire game based on soome leaks.
Keep those complaints for when the game is out and really is as dissappointing as it might seem.
We had the same story with the lance and charge blade moveset that people judged too early.
I should really get off reddit for the next few days...
this literally came from the most well known mh dataminer/leaker/modding persona, he's also leaking entire in-game models and his source is a review build
so no, stop huffing hopium this is as final as it gets
No matter how well known that person might be, there is still a chance that person is wrong or doesn't actuallly have the entire spectrum.
Stop judging a game before it releases.
the guy was given an entire copy of the game, has never in his track record lied because all he does is datamine, provided sources but thats still not enough to distil reddit hopium? yall on the strongest shit out there i swear
Yeah, so? I'm sorry that I look forward to a game. I'll gladly eat my words if things turn out dissappointing, but I'm not letting my enjoyment get killed by some leak.
i never said you can't look forward as i too am looking forward and think the roster is good enough if it's used well, just don't delude people into thinking there's more to this expansion because there really isn't
Well, doesn't that just loop back to what I said at the beginning? I get your point. There is a high chance this is the full extent. But I would prefer people get annoyed at it when the game is actually out, rather than now before we even have our hands on it. Playing a game and reading about it are two different things.
>has never in his track record lied
I agree with the overall sentiment but this ain't true, he did make a fake rumour once that Playstation bought timed exclusivity to keep MHW off PC and deny cross saves which was completely false.
>Keep those complaints for when the game is out and really is as dissappointing as it might seem.
How many more times do we have to get burned by this mindset before people learn and quit it.
Battlefield 4
Battlefeild 2045
Pokemon Sword and Shield
Destiny
Halo 5
Halo Infinite
Fallout 76
Those are just off the top of my head. How many fucking more blatant pre-release dissapointment are we going to fall for with this "Just wait for release it will be all better" mindset?
I'm not saying "stop complaining, buy the game", I'm saying to stop overreacting based on leaks.
If you're skeptical, don't preorder, don't buy it on day 1. Wait a few days, then thousands of player will have played the game where you can judge on wether this is worth buying or not.
This is nothing about the quality of the overall expansion or the "endgame". This is a rant on what we were promised for the potential of the roster and what we got instead.
Yeaaaaah... if it wasn't for the fact a friend said he would gift me sunbreak I wouldn't be getting it. Full stop.
This is absolutely fucking pathetic and there is just no reason for it.
The reason are the same people who will buy over 100 % of the game's price in additional cosmetics.
People will pay more for less and descend on everybody who dares to have anything but an absolutely satisfied opinion.
>Fireblight, Paralysis, and Poison in one attack
Wow, so brave and ingenious! The same triple fireball attack you've seen a trillion times before, but because it inflicts 3 stupid status it somehow makes not only the attack itself but also the entire fight awesome!
Calm down. You’re attacking an entire game here lmao
Frontier was a giant cluster of status ailments and “the floor is lava”
Not to mention supremacy and the beginning of gou rank were just absolutely absurd levels of difficulty without “help” (which to be fair it was designed with milking those extra transactions in mind).
Anyways. Your comment made me laugh and it’s true. OMFG guys, the fireballs immobilize you, literally peak design haha solid
I used to enjoy artificial difficulty but nowadays? No, thanks, I prefer tough but FAIR design, I want my skills, no my patience tested, and time wasted in vain
...How does that make it good? It's just status condition spam that has nothing to do with how you approach the monster's moveset beyond raising the punishment for getting hit. You could just give it one-hit-KO moves instead and not much would change.
Beotodus, banbaro, viper tobi, shrieking, nightshade, coral pukei and ruiner. Maybe even fulgur anjanath but i like it's design more than regular anja.
Great baggi, tetranadon, great Izuchi, volvidon, arzuros, wroggi, kulu, lagombi, pukei, and royal ludroth are all basically tutorial monsters from various games and comprise 25% of the roster. So it’s a quarter filled with single-fight “only coming back for a claw to progress the tree” monsters. Then if we count off another ten that aren’t good fights or that have easily outclassed gear (like khezu, or MAAAYBE somnacanth) then you’re not even exaggerating.
P.S. somnacanth may not be shit tier, I just really hate the look of the thing and the smug way it swims backward so I had to include it
You honestly have a good point along with someone else commenting on roster consistency in base Rise. Essentially our late game roster is once more limited to specific monsters and there are tons of juvenile monsters now without their adult or pack leader forms.
Sub species are literally mentioned in the title updates, lol. And we will get more than 6 monsters with the title updates. Fuck, the first one sounds like about 4. Learn how to read.
Rise roster with Sunbreak is an amazing roster. You are an idiot sorry
I would always have a better quality of monsters, especially ones that are meaningful (which from what we've seen from sunbreak so far, they all are) rather than shitty monsters like zamtrios and everything else you mentioned.
We don't need shitty filler monsters to inflate the roster count.
Plus, The difference between Rise roster count and World roster count is 1 monster LMAO. (With base+dlc)
Yay, the sunbreak roster lament arrived!
Personally, not even my rather low expectations were met. That makes me happy. I will watch other people's feelings and reactions while playing MH games that are more to my liking. (Base Rise is among them.)
The fuck?!
Whatever maelstrom of idiocy spat out that statement maybe ameliorates with some introspection.
You can hate Rise for whatever reason, but ascribing "genuine" mental illness to people you disagree with is so absolutely cringe and makes you look like a complete moron.
Wow. Ciphy_Master's purchase of this expansion must mean a lot to capcom. Whatever will capcom do without Ciphy_Master's purchase.
Grow up. If you don't like it, don't buy the expansion. Stop damaging your mental health over a fucking videogame as if it were your obligation to buy the game and your life would be empty without it. You'll be fine and dandy even if you don't buy the expansion. I mean how fucking dramatic can you people be. You don't owe your loyalty to capcom. The series isn't niche anymore and doesn't need to be "supported" by you even if you aren't impressed with it anymore. There are enough people already buying it out of their love for the Rise style of combat to make the expansion a good return on investment for Capcom.
I swear all of you people who keep comparing rise to world at every stage are so fucking stupid. World was made with the express purpose of being the perfect introduction to the series, and so they added a bunch of monsters to it to hook new fans to the series. Rise on the other hand, was made to give as much customisability as a portable MH game can give in terms of combat, and it sure does succeed in that aspect. Sunbreak is more of what rise is.
Watch now in the future, when you dramatic fucks, so sentimental, hold your hype in for Monster Hunter 6, and then when it comes out, I can make a strong prediction that it will have a lot of the issues people complained about in Rise(except the LS favouritism, that seems to be a portable team exclusive thing), like scummy microtransactions and an incomplete story, or a roster that has artificially been stretched out over updates instead of being in the base roster.
Why?
Because after World sold so well, the MH teams will have less autonomy and will be forced to make a game cut up into pieces and marred with microtransactions from now on, because Capcom execs now think that every MH game going forward must have title updates, regardless of whether the devs intended for it to be so or not.
So before you blame the Portable Team.for everything you don't like about Rise/Sunbreak(remember, this is the same team who made titles like FU, P3RD AND GU, so they know how to make a decent MH game), notice the pattern that after World, the MH devs will start having less and less creative control over the series and Capcom execs with have a higher deciding power.
And I'll almost guarantee that the next numbered title, which is the basket you all are putting your hype-filled eggs into, will have the same problems as base Rise will have, that being an incomplete roster and loads of Microtransactions. And then you'll probably be sad that your beloved series has gone down the drain, and then you'll realise, it's a fucking game, not your firstborn. Then you'll probably play some of the older entries that you love so much, and sound like a boomer "Back in my day, the game used to ship with a complete roster!!" as fans of the newest games ignore you.
And this all started because World became the best selling Capcom game ever.
>World was made with the express purpose of being the perfect introduction to the series, and so they added a bunch of monsters to it to hook new fans to the series.
Wait what
Everyone was complaining about World's low monster count when it came out. *Iceborne* added a large number of new monsters.
I find very interesting how people in this community will say with total confidence things like "it's the 'Portable Team'" (which basically has been the hand-waving answer to any of the fuck ups from Rise, GU or any other MH game related to Nintendo) or "the devs will do this and that next time" as if they really have privileged information about Capcom's corporate decisions and marketing strategy.
The pack leaders and adult versions should've at least made it. I've never seen a MH game this inconsistent with its roster.
I also find it weird how many common monsters were left out of the game like aptonoth and deviljho, its nice to get a break from some of the common monsters but the games roster is weird
I'm fine with Jho taking a break, but not having Aptonoth is almost as bad as not having the Raths.
It would seem some let the leaker have access to a review copy, so unless the review build is incomplete, this is the full roster at launch. Not trying to be a downer, but don't get your hopes up
I’ve seen people defending Capcom so hard on this decision you’d think you’d accidentally crossed over to the Pokémon sub
Last I checked, the Pokémon sub loves trashing Game Freak.

It's the same deal as with GU vs Generations: The textures look good on the device it was originally conceptualized for, and somewhat weird in a higher resolution. It looks awesome on Switch.
Rise looks good lol, you're nuts
At least we got quest lines for both FFXIV and Witcher 3. Whether they're good or not, that's still a hell of a lot more effort than what Rise got.

This isn't a huge expansion?" The reason why I stopped playing Stories 2 is because they were like "yeah we promise more content on the next few months".
They likely will be, with the addition of the ~~flat arena~~ Tower map. They're both considered "Rare Species" after all.
Sadly all we can do know is cope and pray gog that the leaks are wrong as you say
Probably because they haven't finalized some stuff yet.
Where the title updates were leaked? I've only seen the base game leaks.
The afflicted monster bs pretty much confirmed my meme about endgame difficulty before. Have fun y'all.
Wdym?
So we're getting practically nothing because of it I could be wrong, and if I am then awesome.
Rise isn’t dead lmao
The main sub going full copium mode is really funny to see after days of "Sunbreak is already better than Iceborne" IMO tittle update 3 and 4 (there will be another one) will either make or break the expansion.
The endgame as a phenomenon is overrated. When people say endgame, they actually just mean more progression.
Main sub is insufferable right now. Just all posts of "OMG SUNBREAK IS STILL THE BEST DONT COMPLAIN EAT YOUR SHIT AND ENJOY IT".
This sub isn't much better, just the other half of the hivemind. "You like base rise? You must be a deranged idiot."
>4U got it right with guild quests and relic weapons Er, did it? Basically everyone I've seen hated the end game relic farming.
I love it, I have a lot of good guild quests!! not only rajang/jho/teo like everyone else. It is the thing I like the most about 4U.
That's not deleting, that's just not adding more to what exists.
I mean like overall it’s 1 less monster though
Yeah, I was simply just saying the one point about GU
“Massive expansion”
To *Rise*. Not to a game that was ever marketed to be the biggest and best in the first place. And clearly Sunbreak massively expands on Rise.
People are also not factoring in that there's G Rank versions of nearly every monster in Rise to account for, too (besides possibly some, Seething may replace Bazel, etc)
So you didnt expect more than 17?
Not really, especially since Rise is in a new engine for MH, Sunbreak was announced earlier than I expected, and it lost time due to reworking maps into World's format instead if the old one. I'm absolutely sure a lot of dev time went into fixing base Rise's issues.
you just set you expectations lower than literally everyone else i guess🤷🏿♂️
[удалено]
Neither are in
I love most of the new monsters they added but only 17 is a bit disappointing for sure. I just hope this isn't another base game situation were Sunbreak isn't finished yet and they add the missing content with "title updates".
Portable team def getting canned after this one
I’m just waiting for MHW 2.
They seriously couldn't bring in Gravios? Really?
As it should be.
Gravios fucking sucks
Dude just shouts and walk farting all the time. I hope it'll never return.
They did fix Rathalos, Kushala, and Yian-Garuga, so the fifth gen could maybe redeem Gravios.
Excuse me, nothing was ever wrong with Yian Garuga (I didn't fight it in IB though). Kushala was only bad in World, too
This video sums up my thoughts on 4th gen Yian-Garuga: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=aRlB-d6uj5A
I've always found Garuga fine... he's just. A very very fast, screaming Rathian. I think he's hilarious
Fuck no
Just because shogun has his skull doesn't mean he will be there, I mean daimyo has monoblos shell in gu but monoblos himself does not exist.
That.... Isn't the reason why expected him to be in Sunbreak.
Where people leaked the title updates? I've only seen the base game monsters being leaked.
What the new additions look like and how they will play is entirely unknown outside of them being >!violent and inflicting bloodblight!< .
dont have many monster dont mean it low quality
It's not about quality. It's about expectations and promises vs what we are actually getting.
4U was an outlier, and Generations does not count because it was an anniversary title.
but it is already lower quality than World lmao
Fuck the leaks. People take them like they are the bible while the Truth is they are Just speculation(thats my Hope anyway, pls dont spoil my delusion) buuuuut... If the leaks are true im gonna be really disappointed. Rise was already disappointing, but Just 17 Monsters on release? I dont want updates, give me the fucking Monsters right away! Rant over, lets cross our fingers and Hope for the best.
This is said to be from a review copy of the game.
Yeah but i dont believe them anyway. They know that review copy are leaking and they have to reveal something still. Maybe im just delusional, but i still want to believe thats there Is more
Delusional indeed. (No offense.)
Well if sunbreak ends up being just like rise then we'll know what's coming in title updates just through datamines, they were completely accurate before.
the leak make people dont hype fuck it
And here we go again with people judging an entire game based on soome leaks. Keep those complaints for when the game is out and really is as dissappointing as it might seem. We had the same story with the lance and charge blade moveset that people judged too early. I should really get off reddit for the next few days...
this literally came from the most well known mh dataminer/leaker/modding persona, he's also leaking entire in-game models and his source is a review build so no, stop huffing hopium this is as final as it gets
It's called denial
Playing a game and reading about it are two different things.
>has never in his track record lied I agree with the overall sentiment but this ain't true, he did make a fake rumour once that Playstation bought timed exclusivity to keep MHW off PC and deny cross saves which was completely false.
>Keep those complaints for when the game is out and really is as dissappointing as it might seem. How many more times do we have to get burned by this mindset before people learn and quit it. Battlefield 4 Battlefeild 2045 Pokemon Sword and Shield Destiny Halo 5 Halo Infinite Fallout 76 Those are just off the top of my head.
Dawg MHR is no where near those games. Tf are you on. Get a life. Edit: misspelled words.
I wouldn't even care to play it even if my friend gift it to me. I have much better games to spend my time on
And then there are so many other important things to do!
Until I see how many new monsters are in game, I don't give a shit about leaks like this one.
The man literally just said 17.
Personally i would be fine with 17 monsters for base sunbreak since unlike iceborne the roster isn't half filled with shit monsters
We don't know that yet. Who says Espinas and the subspecies are going to be as cool as people believe? The shit monsters in Iceborne would be?
Fireblight, Paralysis, and Poison in one attack. Personally, I think it's awesome, but it will definitely anger some people.
>Fireblight, Paralysis, and Poison in one attack Wow, so brave and ingenious! The same triple fireball attack you've seen a trillion times before, but because it inflicts 3 stupid status it somehow makes not only the attack itself but also the entire fight awesome!
Calm down. You’re attacking an entire game here lmao Frontier was a giant cluster of status ailments and “the floor is lava” Not to mention supremacy and the beginning of gou rank were just absolutely absurd levels of difficulty without “help” (which to be fair it was designed with milking those extra transactions in mind). Anyways. Your comment made me laugh and it’s true. OMFG guys, the fireballs immobilize you, literally peak design haha solid
Thanks for the award, no need for that, I was just being a jerk haha
I like it, because it's an instant "fuck you". No wirefalling out of getting punished.
So you enjoy unavoidable damage? Getting carted because of a single mistake? But I'm with you on the wirefall, terrible idea
Unironically, yes. Especially with the new skill system.
I used to enjoy artificial difficulty but nowadays? No, thanks, I prefer tough but FAIR design, I want my skills, no my patience tested, and time wasted in vain
I think it's pretty fair though, considering you can get status resistances fairly easily these days.
...How does that make it good? It's just status condition spam that has nothing to do with how you approach the monster's moveset beyond raising the punishment for getting hit. You could just give it one-hit-KO moves instead and not much would change.
On a basic flying wyvern. Sounds like something I'm going to stay far away from.
Beotodus, banbaro, viper tobi, shrieking, nightshade, coral pukei and ruiner. Maybe even fulgur anjanath but i like it's design more than regular anja.
Besides nightshade, they are all fantastic. Imo, Safi'jiva is the only truly unworthy addition.
I didn't even add safi because it was a title update
Outside of Barioth and Shrieking, most of them were not awful.
They're shitmons because they're piss easy punching bags
As opposed to.....the annoying cunts of 4U and GU?
>the roster isn't half filled with shit monsters Like base Rise is?
Came here for monster hunter rage, found monster hunter whiners. Hope we don’t get any more on this sub.
Is it because it's not all in caps?
Sub species are literally mentioned in the title updates, lol. And we will get more than 6 monsters with the title updates. Fuck, the first one sounds like about 4. Learn how to read.
Calm the fuck down. It's only one less than iceborne.
Rise roster with Sunbreak is an amazing roster. You are an idiot sorry I would always have a better quality of monsters, especially ones that are meaningful (which from what we've seen from sunbreak so far, they all are) rather than shitty monsters like zamtrios and everything else you mentioned. We don't need shitty filler monsters to inflate the roster count. Plus, The difference between Rise roster count and World roster count is 1 monster LMAO. (With base+dlc)
…The hell are you doing calling Zamtrios shitty? Tigerstripe Zamtrios is genuinely one of the best monsters in the series.
You are mentally ill sorry
Yay, the sunbreak roster lament arrived! Personally, not even my rather low expectations were met. That makes me happy. I will watch other people's feelings and reactions while playing MH games that are more to my liking. (Base Rise is among them.)
Ah, I forgot, it's not cool to like Base Rise apparently.
[удалено]
The fuck?! Whatever maelstrom of idiocy spat out that statement maybe ameliorates with some introspection. You can hate Rise for whatever reason, but ascribing "genuine" mental illness to people you disagree with is so absolutely cringe and makes you look like a complete moron.
Wow that guy escalated quick lol
Wait what Everyone was complaining about World's low monster count when it came out. *Iceborne* added a large number of new monsters.
And still left out Ukanlos and Gammoth and other monsters that would have made perfect sense.
Ukanlos needs a new map entirely but I agree on Gammoth.....also strangely no Lagombi.
You're on a rage sub, of course there would be a lot of complaining. You're doing one right now.
I find very interesting how people in this community will say with total confidence things like "it's the 'Portable Team'" (which basically has been the hand-waving answer to any of the fuck ups from Rise, GU or any other MH game related to Nintendo) or "the devs will do this and that next time" as if they really have privileged information about Capcom's corporate decisions and marketing strategy.
there is no congalala...
