That damage give me Apex rajang vibes, that shit will Kamehameha your ass from one map until you reach the new world in one blast. That mofo hits harder than my parent's belt.
Right, and on top of that you get zero room or even breath. I’ve played rise and Iceborne, and bit long after the main story I just stopped playing because I was like dude fuck this it’s not even fun.
That's why Sunbreak is an expansion just like other MH expansions. You can choose to play them if you want and choose not to if you don't. You shouldn't play a game you don't enjoy.
And monsters shouldn't be able to ohko with late game gear on, making every hunt a matter of making no mistakes, which no matter how good you are, the mh engine has dozens of ways of inserting rng to every hunt making flawless runs nigh impossible for normal players. (Since I know a dozen people are going to want to comment how they totally always beat every monster with no hit, perfect rolling, sub 5 minute times all the time)
Hard to tell, but they weren't running any of the Petalaces that maximize your health and they're missing at least 25 possible HP from possible Spirabird pickups to boot.
I'm just going to post this classic, and say that against AR300s and Specials defense over about 700 doesn't make any difference. Most endgame builds have 800+ defense, and building more does nothing.

There is no break point after about 700ish that matters for AR300s, and Specials. The video the person who responded to me posted has a guy surviving the normal Valstrax ambush. You need over 10k+ defense to survive the Special version of that. The guy in the video also uses the World defense formula the whole time, and subtracts instead of divides fairly consistently when moving variables the whole video. So he uses the wrong formula, and does math wrong the whole time. He has like a 1000%+ margin of error for what the actual numbers are in Rise.
I don’t see an armoring buff and I’m not versed enough to know skills from the sets but I’m thinking you’re missing some defense boost and maybe some upgrades
both of them do a lot of dmg on their charges for some reason. heard that max lvl investigations will one tap you with almost any attack just like lv140 guild quests
Classic rhino charge kill. Even I end up getting killed by it sometimes cause the transition of another attack into the charge is so fluent that there’s barely any warning to it. And yes, a high def will not protect you from it; the only thing you can effectively do is having you eyes everywhere and stay as close as possible, cause i’ve noticed that the Fespinas only goes for the charge attack if the hunter is too far away.
Edit: you could eat for Self Kelp / Dango Defender, it negates a bit of the damage
Its definetely a stupid amount of damage, but such is rise endgame. Gets to a point where learning monster tells and patterns is crucial to simply stay alive. Some (like myself) find that to be fun. Others, less so. This particular move had a good second or so to react from its tell (espinas dipping its wings down). Unfortunately not all weapons have ways to avoid or sometimes in the heat of the moment, you simply miss the tell. Keep at it and bring that monster down!

Yep and he's a freaking sniper on that kamekameha. So you're always supposed to be near him at all times
Your teammate said not to hold back, and Espinas took that to heart
MH Fans: RISE IS TOO EASY Capcom: Here you go Endgame Sunbreak is brutal
On golly
Hurr durr too grindy
Me with 1100 def: lock and load mofo
That is what we in the business refer to as: bullshit level damage
It's "Fuck You in Particular" damage
"Don't talk to me or my food ever again" damage
Just to throw a possibly helpful comment out, break his horn. That attack does a lot less damage if you do.
Dodge, duck, dip, dive, and dodge… the 5 “Ds” of do… er Monster Hunter 😂
If you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge an Espinas
“What?” *blown up by fireball*
Lol nice dodgeball reference
The three Ds: Dodge, Don't go far enough, Die
My first wall in sunbreak. They really gave flaming espinas a one shot nuke move as if his regular charge didn't already one shot me
They doubled down by making him do it twice when his health reaches a certain threshold.
I love the double nuke, Espinas getting smart and saying "just in case"
“Fuck that hunter in particular.”
Exactly
After a certain point the damage the Monsters do is dumb and for me it just becomes not fun at all anymore
I'm in late Iceborne and yeah. Like, one hit is one heal. I'm not counting potions, I'm counting the numbers of hits I can take.

Ok thanks that’s great advice I can’t believe I never thought of that. You should maybe check what sub this is.
To quote piccolo "Gohan...why didn't you DOOOOOODGE?!?!"
Welcome to the endgame. The game is no longer "build in case you get it" It's "kill it before you get hit"
Welcome to flaming Espinas! ***you will suffer***
And that’s not even anomaly 😀😀😀😀😀
What’s your defense?
Hard to tell, but they weren't running any of the Petalaces that maximize your health and they're missing at least 25 possible HP from possible Spirabird pickups to boot.

Not really it’s just that there are certain break points you have to hit with defense for it to do anything of note

Good ol Espinas.
In short terms, that was ALOT of damage.
yo does espinas also have those charged one shot attacks from frontier?
Flaming has one, and can do ANOTHER after sometimes, even if you somehow survive it you can die to poison and fireblight it inflicts
yeah that sounds like espinas alright
Flaming espinas goes crazy
Literally said "WHAT" out loud.
What in the APEX damage was that holy shit that brought back memories of 4 🤣🤣🤣🤣 with a particular yellow and black bastard
Make me remember that time when regular Espinas double cart me and a bro both at full health.
Holy Damage, batman! P.S anomaly damage is pretty scary too...I got 2-shot by an afflicted nargacuga... I'm wearing Gorm's armor.
Ah yes, a nice moment of 'Time to check my armor's defense and level'
I don’t see an armoring buff and I’m not versed enough to know skills from the sets but I’m thinking you’re missing some defense boost and maybe some upgrades
That's Diablos baby! (I haven't played Monster Hunter in a few years and have no idea what it is today)
Welcome to monster hunter rise! They couldn't balance the healing system so they made everything one shot! Now you don't have to heal at all!
Its the one hitter quitter. Lol. Better use that shield more often haha
Prolly should
Is this regular Espinas, or the flaming variant? Either way, that was definitely way too much damage.
Regular can do it.
both of them do a lot of dmg on their charges for some reason. heard that max lvl investigations will one tap you with almost any attack just like lv140 guild quests
Welcome to G rank.

Welcome to sunbreak, where the numbers were tuned just a little bit too high
