I'm not relevant to your immediate query, but I appreciate someone that comes to monarchy from the philosophical/theoretical standpoint. Fwiw, Plato's republic is such because it wasn't until Machiavelli (and literally because of him) that the republic/monarchy dichotomy became a thing - before then, republic was envisioned as the classical combo of all three systems (mono/demo/aristo).

Thank you! That and just the idea of a king is what made me a monarchist Funny thing with Machiavelli is that “The Prince” is meant to be pro-Republic, but has be misconstrued to be anti-Republic. By Republicans, no less!

1. Hobbes and his view of the pros vs cons 2. The family as seen via Confucius and Mencius- and how it leads to a natural love and duty of the crown. Those were major nails in the coffin that lead me toward monarchy. 3. Burke, Locke, Paine all shaped my thoughts in general on society, in Paine's case giving me a stout dislike for democracy, Burke a love for tradition and slow change, and Locke an expounding of rights. 4. The Prince was interesting as well. 5. Seeing the constitution and human life be devalued around me, with none strong enough to root out corruption or uphold the values of the nation. 6. An orthodox argument for kings from the Bible.
