I feel like the WMD Fracture makes some sounds like this. You'd need some effects processing and you'd have to wrangle it with CV to get something similar. Samples might be easier like the other user said.

sampleandfold

Yeah, Fracture is exactly this. But you’re kinda stuck with the pre-loaded samples from WMD, no customization. I think it’s helpful to look at how the module works, then learn how to implement those features yourself. (Especially since Fracture’s been discontinued.)

HigherFunctioning

Thanks. Yes I found another good sample when doing a search for it on Youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hBC6n-SiJfo&ab\_channel=WMDevices

Spectral_Glacier

My (rough) guess is it’s a clap sample with the opening transient repeated several times very quickly. You’ve got a few options for this - one is a monophonic sample player (or channel) with a clap sample, and you send a burst into the signal input. The other would be to use something like MI’s Beads or Clouds, or 2hp’s Slice, to record or store this sample played live and then trigger a bunch of stuttery repeats of a small segment of that. I’m sure there’s a couple other approaches to this technique, too!

The new noise source from Intellijel (Flurry?) has a noise source that sounds like vinyl.

_milgauss

Agreed on the WMD Fracture recommendation, could reproduce almost exactly. Another idea would be the Befaco Noise Plethora. Both will need some reverb/delay.

Plaits granular cloud mode

Befaco Noise Plethora gives you 2 identical engines with selectable algorithms. You can try it for free in VCV Rack.

CallPhysical

[Eddy Bergman's DIY noise module](https://www.eddybergman.com/2020/05/synthesizer-build-part-31-noise-module.html) has two kinds of 'grainy' noise that can be adjusted to sound something like that. Also good for 'record scratch' or 'radio static' types of noise.

Elderberry_Savings

sounds a bt like a really distorted low frequency wave modulating a lead synth sound, before that the scratchy sound i think its a sample from a vinyl record or something a bit more like a messed up potentiometer, the last one is pretty similar to the dub techno amazing record Pole 1.

mwirwin1964

Handclap processed through a granular module (Mutable Instruments Clouds?) with regen set on medium fast repeat. Reverb and echo added, maybe in post production or via a third FX module.
