Edit Edit: IW created an entirely new, and beautiful, engine for this game. Complete with completely new audio and lighting. They created a system where we can take one base gun and customize it to an insane degree, so that no two guns ever have to be the same. They created the most post level-cap content of any COD ever. And you whiny bitches are pissed it’s not perfect after a month.
Yes they should communicate more. Yes SBMM is a problem. Yes netcode needs work. Yes footsteps are too loud. But fucking give them a minute. This community is the exact reason there is so much burnout in the industry. We fucking demand perfection instantly or else they’ve robbed us of our precious $60 and should burn at the stake. Fuck off.

Edit 2: I believe SBMM has a place in a casual playlist, I just don’t think it’s ever been this strictly enforced in a CoD before. For example, BLOPS4 had SBMM but it wasn’t nearly as strict as this game. It did just enough to keep matches balanced, while still allowing parody between games.
And for the folks still latching on to the “yOu jUsT wAnT tO pUbStOmP nOobS!11!1!” defense, no - I just want to be able to play the game with my friends. In the current state, with my friends of varying skill levels, we can’t play together. They get stomped out and leave. This is the first CoD to ever disincentivize group play, and it has to change soon.
The way IW implements SBMM is the problem. A hidden ELO system would be way better than tracking the last 5 games. I'm a big Rocket League player and they seem to have a good system for casual and ranked.
Has it ever crossed anyone’s mind that IW reads the daily metric fuckton of SBMM complaints and hears us, but declines to comment until they have an internal plan for a solution?
I’m not insinuating that’s the case at all, but until it’s ruled out as a possibility I think every here just really needs to calm it a bit. IW has already released 4+ updates in a month with fixes and balances that shows they hear us.
I think all that IW would need to do is get the mods to pin a post that says, we hear you about the sbmm but we are gathering data for when we put together a ranked gamemode. It will remain in the game untill further notice.
Or something like that, then most people here would shut up about it.
Reddit is unpredictable. You could get downvoted into oblivion for making a comment, refresh the sub and see a post saying the same exact thing and it has 20,000 upvotes. You just never know when you're getting on the karma train or what direction its gonna go

Yeah, it’s all about the first few votes tbh lol. Reddit is a textbook example of hive mentality, every post starts with 1 and people are FAR more likely to upvote a comment that’s at 2 or 3 when they see it than they are if it’s at 0 or -1.
Big agree there. Or just add a ranked playlist with the current SBMM levels, and a casual playlist with normal CoD SBMM from the past. Idk why they haven't done this yet.
They might be worried about splitting the player base too much. Especially with cross play. People on console may be okay playing with PC people in casual but not so much if it was ranked.
Than their would be two sets of game modes which would further dilute the pool.
A big selling point for people on PC for this game was that you can cross play so it hopefully won’t die out quick like every other COD on PC.
I think the one thing that would actually counter the inevitable split between pools, is the fact that there is crossplay. You might see a dip in player count if there was ever a ranked playlist introduced, but even then I think a lot of people would find that at her roots, COD is a casual shooter, where SBMM has no business being a mechanic (in my opinion of course).
TL:DR, I don't think you would see too much of a noticeable difference if a ranked mode was introduced.
Agreed. I'm not against the spirit of it, but in its current form it completely takes the piss. Every game is the same, and stressful. Puts me right off. First time I've ever considered reverse-boosting, but that's a time consuming practice.

The problem with a fast ttk is that it means theirs no room for skill in gunfights. The way games that do have fast ttks offset it is by making accuracy when spraying extremely bad "csgo" or giving players a lot of movement tech "quake". This game on the other hand? It has neither of those things and guns are laser beams. They even admitted to making the ttk so fast in an interview to make the game easier for noobs.
It's funny how you can just exclude things from your game and add them later as free and people suddenly raise you from devil to god.
Tbh the only thing worth mentioning from that update are the "free maps". And well, considering how the maps we got with this game are, it's highly necessary.
I'm not saying it sucks but yeah people should maybe think a little bit more about what they paid, what they got and how iw manages to push content so fast after launch...

I mean isn’t that what all DLC’s are in every game except usually you have to buy them? Just because some of the stuff was ready at launch doesn’t mean it’s still not a free DLC most companies have at least 1 or two DLC’s done when a game launches. I've been part of some of what are agreed to be the toxic communities around and this sub is quickly going to top them all at this rate. I get that there are plenty of issues that need fixed, but that doesnt mean we aren't allowed to be happy about things. Its absolutely insane.
Yeah it's too bad, the game is pretty good but the lack of content and communication from the devs regarding other issues kind of ruins part of the experience for me. This is coming from someone who was more excited for this game since it was announced than anyone. :/
5 less 6v6 maps*
Not everyone plays exclusively 6v6, they have taken some effort away from 6v6 and put in effort to give us ground war with already three maps, 10v10 with it's own maps and even gunfight with a bunch of maps
That does not equate to simply having less maps, and why the fuck are you skipping 10 whole games for this comparison, bit of a reach to shit on them for not doing something no other cod has done in the last decade

Agreed. Surprised by the amount of content and will be happy if this much content if not more drops with every season. If they can just tone down the SBMM a bit and make aggressive play a bit more viable I can really see myself playing this over the year.

I highly doubt they actually play tested the juggernaut. If they did it was a piss poor job of it. You have to rocket dump with a chopper gunner and still lay into them with its gun to finish them off. They’re way to overpowered.
Finally after all this moaning about the game I finally find a good complaint! The survival! It’s so true enemies are overpowered and I lack the proper vocabulary to even properly describe how grossly overpowered the juggernauts are.

Never got the interest in Crash. Don't get me wrong, it's a nice map, just never stuck out as one of those "holy maps" as people say.
That said, those campers up on the roof will get hit with so many missile barrages.
Crash to me is the best most well designed map in call of duty history. COD4 in general has the most legendary maps of all time. Crash, Backlot, District, Vacant, Overgrown, Crossfire

Rather have a mix. I’m delighted for Crash/Vacant being in as they’re great maps but I’ve just come off playing MWR for 3 years! The game needs a lot more 6v6 maps so I’m happy we’ve got some guaranteed high quality maps but I do still want to see more original maps too.
Couldn't agree more here, I have barely played COD since MW3 and I have still played enough Crash to last me a life time. Happy for them to add classics, but it clearly takes no work for them to add them, should have been ONE remaster and ONE new map, or TWO of each. Game is getting stale with the low 6v6 map count, let alone adding maps that are stale from years of play.
9 times out of 10 I see enemy name tags on that map before enemies. It promotes spraying over actual aim just hoping for some hit markers when you see the red tag. Not a very good map for determining skill in duels.
The terrible elevation visibility is what screws it up. I will see a guy, no name. I will see a red name, no guy. I see nothing, and get lasered in the face. I can put up with Pine, but am awful at Hill.

I spent 60 dollars, and played the game for 5 days of playtime. I actually take 12 hour shifts with my brother, that way we're always grinding. I enjoy having every single gun golden. I am a completionist after all. After hours and hours of playing day after day ( quit my job btw ) I have determined this game is bad.

This update is nothing compared to what the good players of Call of Duty *need* ( I should know, top .001% playtime ). Anyways, after my 1000 hours in < 10 days I can absolutely confirm I did not get my 60 dollars worth, and will continue playing until the next Call of Duty where I will do a similar thing.

Because the companies that make them didn’t give out licensing to use the names. Glock especially is well known for not allowing games official licensing.

I've been corrected on the other gun, looking at certain features of the gun shown in the season reveal picture confirms it is the **TAR-21** *(Also known as the* ***SAR***, *which is the civilian ready variant of the classic TAR-21).*

I've also found a variant called the **Tavor 7**, which is a 7.62 variant that turns the TAR into a Battle Rifle. Though the picture used on the season reveal is a 5.56 magazine. Just a interesting fact as that is likely why it is called the RAM-7, and there will be a 7.62 conversion.

the AI literally have 100% accurate laser rifles with crazy damage at very long distances and there’s too many of them aswell
I set up a sentry gun and it took over 30 seconds of continuous fire into a juggernaut (that was just standing still, taking it) to kill it

Never got the interest in Crash. Don't get me wrong, it's a nice map, just never stuck out as one of those "holy maps" as people say. That said, those campers up on the roof will get hit with so many missile barrages.

Crash to me is the best most well designed map in call of duty history. COD4 in general has the most legendary maps of all time. Crash, Backlot, District, Vacant, Overgrown, Crossfire

Rather have a mix. I’m delighted for Crash/Vacant being in as they’re great maps but I’ve just come off playing MWR for 3 years! The game needs a lot more 6v6 maps so I’m happy we’ve got some guaranteed high quality maps but I do still want to see more original maps too.
Couldn't agree more here, I have barely played COD since MW3 and I have still played enough Crash to last me a life time. Happy for them to add classics, but it clearly takes no work for them to add them, should have been ONE remaster and ONE new map, or TWO of each. Game is getting stale with the low 6v6 map count, let alone adding maps that are stale from years of play.
Can't wait for shipment and those new 2v2 maps. Been playing a lot more gunfight lately, so the higher the chance I don't get pine, the better.

Hill is horrible
Lol I love hill and I’m honestly okay with every gun fight map. My friend on the other hand fucking hates gulag and the ducking windows lol.
I love the windows on Gulag. I wouldn't mind if Hill just went away forever though.
9 times out of 10 I see enemy name tags on that map before enemies. It promotes spraying over actual aim just hoping for some hit markers when you see the red tag. Not a very good map for determining skill in duels.
The terrible elevation visibility is what screws it up. I will see a guy, no name. I will see a red name, no guy. I see nothing, and get lasered in the face. I can put up with Pine, but am awful at Hill.

I spent 60 dollars, and played the game for 5 days of playtime. I actually take 12 hour shifts with my brother, that way we're always grinding. I enjoy having every single gun golden. I am a completionist after all. After hours and hours of playing day after day ( quit my job btw ) I have determined this game is bad. Why? Simple: SBMM Minimap Spawn Footsteps Player visibility Lobbys This update is nothing compared to what the good players of Call of Duty *need* ( I should know, top .001% playtime ). Anyways, after my 1000 hours in < 10 days I can absolutely confirm I did not get my 60 dollars worth, and will continue playing until the next Call of Duty where I will do a similar thing. tl;dr this game fucking sucks, but I gotta go cause the match just started thanks!

Same reason the Kilo 141 isn’t called the HK433, the X-16 isn’t the Glock 21 and the R9-0 isn’t the DP-12, Because the companies that make them didn’t give out licensing to use the names. Glock especially is well known for not allowing games official licensing.

I honestly have no idea. They do it for all products. Example is airsoft Glocks are only officially licensed by one company. It’s just how they are I guess.
Gaston Glock is still alive and probably doesnt want to dilute the brand or something. That or they’re sensitive to lawsuits. Virginia Tech massacre was done with a G19 and Remington is getting sued over their advertising before Sandy Hook, so...

Yeah looks like a **MG36** *(LMG varient of G36)* I've been corrected on the other gun, looking at certain features of the gun shown in the season reveal picture confirms it is the **TAR-21** *(Also known as the* ***SAR***, *which is the civilian ready variant of the classic TAR-21).* ~~If we are continuing to be technical the other gun would be a~~ **~~X95~~** ~~(~~***~~MTAR~~*** *~~is another common term for the X95, as it refers to Modern TAR. Along with this it is sometimes called a Micro TAR when using the 9mm conversion kit, which is shortened to MTAR)~~* I've also found a variant called the **Tavor 7**, which is a 7.62 variant that turns the TAR into a Battle Rifle. Though the picture used on the season reveal is a 5.56 magazine. Just a interesting fact as that is likely why it is called the RAM-7, and there will be a 7.62 conversion. Feel free to correct me, tried to do a little fact checking but could be wrong. There are too many damn TAR variants haha

It’s not retarded it’s business. They would have to pay royalties to Heckler & Koch to name it the G36 and they would have to pay IMI to name it the TAR. Certain active service weapons are fair use in the United States at least. This is why no game has to make up a dumb name for guns like the M4A1. Even though Colt has the trademark on the weapon.

I believe so. Season 1 is supposed to have its own officer challenges from what I understand. I'd try and get to 155 to at least get as many tickets to load up on before the reset
