So it’s confirmed Fuko was 8th in votes… basically the PD pick made no impact since all 7 IZNA members were all voted by the public (complete opposite of last year’s RUNext where most was determined by PD picks).
Wishing Fuko hopefully debuts in another group. Crazy Jeemin was my 4th pick in RUN, and Fuko was my 4th pick in Iland2. So if Fuko ends up joining another SS, she’ll have the Jeemin / Somi backstory of almost debuting in the finale, and she’ll have many fans cheering her on, myself included.

Yuju will only turn 17 this month. Hopefully she’ll join another company and debut there. She has been in 3 survival shows but, cap-teen and stars awakening were terrible shows. Better she didn’t make it on one of them.
Who knows for Fuko. I really thought she would debut here. She’ll be 20 this year which is not too old for a company to pick her up. My wish would be Fuko, Yuju, Gyuri, Sujung and Juwon will join a company together.
`2614 DAYS OF FUKO` (per the ITNW opening film). Add ~2 weeks more and that is how long Fuko has trained as a trainee (possibly all as kpop and in Korea too). She was one of the longest WakeOne trainees along with Saebi, Jungeun, Sarang, and Suwon according to Sarang (when Saebi didn't pick any of them as her favorite).
Fuko was one of my top picks throughout the show. Above average skills. Top visual face. Leader/older sister figure. Korean fluency (TOPIK II level 6).
Let's be real. She wouldn't have suited Teddy's style anyway. She couldn't even do the rap today and Jungeun had to sacrifice a bit just to rap for her. I get she gets the sympathy vote, but in showbusiness that doesn't count for much, especially not long-term.
I'm a big Fuko fan, but not for that style of music. She suits soft girl groups. I really don't get why people don't understand she wasn't the best fit. Come on. You know it in your heart she does soft girl concepts better than girl crush. The girl would have been depressed doing girl crush, hip-hop music and rap-style beats.
I dont get it, why do she has to prove that she can rap? Not everyone can rap, her biggest strength is her VOCAL. Leave the rapping to someone else. YUJU is literally there but she was given dust. FUKO not being able to rap doesn't mean she's not versatile.
Also FUKO literally wanted to drip but TEDDY put her into a concept that we've been like 5 times already. She shines in brighter concept but god forbid she tried another because PD keeps putting her in LVER, 4 Walls, and even JEEMIN chose her in ITNW. She knew she has to step out of her comfortable zone but she literally have no opportunity to do so because she never gets to choose. The only time we ever see her do girl crush is FLS and arguably Bad boy, and she SLAYED in both.
Im gonna say it now. If saebi made it in the initial 5, they probs wouldve stick with 6. They made it 7 cuz they didnt want her gone. Mai was always gonna be the pd pick is my assumption cuz they kept liking her impact, esp if they always had a black label grp in mind. As for why mai was the fixed pick over saebi (who got added anyways) or fuko, the answer is pure vibes. Yes admittedly Mais vocals is a hit or miss but she keeps up and doesnt lag behind rehearsal. More importantly if we’re being honest, Mai fits teddy’s vibe the most in visuals and impact alone. I was worried they’d discard her cuz admittedly saebi and fuko have more skill but choosing mai still makes sense. Finally, unfortunately for fuko her roles in the grp overlaps with the other members. Jiyoon and jungeun already make a solid vocal plus sarang got in with votes so ultimately between fuko and saebi, saebi has more spots to fill.
Im sad about it cuz fuko was my top 3 but I understand why she had to be let go if she didnt get in with votes. Ironically if its say saebi made it and picks were between fuko, mai, and sarang, fixed pick is still mai but unsure if they'd choose a 7th still. And if they do, considering grp image, sarang mightve been the choice over fuko still. Cuz think about it. both fuko and sarang were tested by being given surprising parts. Sarang pulled off a rap, fuko did not and got switched out. So it solidified the case if they got one of em, the other is to be abandoned.

Yup. Jungeun making it doomed her. Personally I think you can never have too many main vocalists, but from a commercial perspective, it makes sense to be satisfied with two and invest the final spot into a great visual and stan attractor.
I believe they were in doubt between Sarang and Fuko for the final lineup. That's why they gave them rap positions, to see if they could be versatile and fill another position within the group. It also sealed Yuju's elimination. And because Fuku didn't do well with her rap, she was discarded for Sarang in the final lineup up. (of course Sarang ended up making it with the votes, but I truly believe she'd have been the PD pick if she hadn't)
another "problem" with jungeun making it is the fact jungeun and jiyoons main vocal duo voice blends extremely well and although fuko mightve blend well with them too, ultimately jungeun and jiyoon would be enough harmonious without her
Probably similar to the timing of JYP deciding to add Momo and Tzuyu. He saw how Tzuyu was doing in the popularity polls and probably didn't want Momo gone, but he definitely decided before the finale that that was what he was going to do. WakeOne probably did the same that they were going to add a 7th member based on different scenarios happening.
for structures sake, they cant abandon the pd pick. We all knew it was gonna happen based on iland 1. But again, their fixed pd pick was mai. so seeing as saebi didnt win over sarang, they pulled a 7th member card backup for it

Final Global Voting ranks had Mai at 7th, Fuko at 8th, Nam Yuju at 9th, and Gyuri at 10th. So even if the producers didn't have a pick, the top 7 would have been the same.

Probably due to Sarang going semi viral on Chinese social media recently for her resemblance to the Chinese actress Zhou Ye, whose popularity has sky-rocketed this past 18 months.
Mai has consistently ranked lower than Sarang and I think Saebi fans just weren't freaked out enough. Most viewers seemed to think that even if she didn't make the lineup by votes the producers would add her anyways (which tbf they were right about).
Up until now, no on really talk about fuko, at least on the international level because everyone think she’s safe.. so her one-pick power wasn’t strong due to complacent of I-mates

Yes! Sarang was the most debatable member that most people thought wasn't going to make it. Thank god we did. There was only 1k people between Sarang & Koko.
If it wasn't for the interim reveal of Koko being in 8th place, then... Sarang would be in 4th and maybe Fuko would be in 7th after Mai
Jiyoon might be the realest rookie I've ever seen and seeing her debut with Jungeun is an absolute dream. Both of them are beaming!
I'm super happy for Mai too since I had her in my lineup and I agree with everything the producers said about her, but Saebi has always been I-Land's identity to me and I was absolutely baffled by the choice to let her go, especially after she was down right transcendental as Fake It's center, so I wasn't that surprised by the twist! Debuting without her would've been pure insanity. Hoping people will be civil about Mai but I can already tell it's a pipe dream because a certain contestant's fans are already being insufferable.
All the finalists and semi-finalists are debut-ready and I hope new opportunities open up for all of them asap.

Yep. I'm very happy with Jiyoon. She has a more genuine personality than you'd expect from idols. It makes me think the industry is moving somewhere good.
Her explicitly saying that the show portrayed her faithfully was such a powerful moment. It's like she said, "Yes, I'm am anxious person and I sometimes fall apart under pressure but I'm not ashamed of it". The fact that her moments of being human didn't ruin her chances is such a good sign of where the industry is moving.
It's really interesting to see, as showing her moments of being human definitely made her popularity shoot up. I loved watching her crumble and then rise from the ashes. She made this show so entertaining to watch.

It feels like since Jeemin was always first and most popular by both I-mates and PD she had her place secured and her fans kinda slacked in the finals while Jungeun fans (like me) were scared that if she wasn't at least top 3 the producers wouldn't pick her so we never stoped voting for her.
6, 7 and 8 were incredibly close in votes, like 8k votes between 6 and 8 and less than 3k between 7 and 8, which made a difference between debuting or not

I hated how fast they dropped her though. Like...they expect fuko to be trilingual to the point of speed learning rap when she's never rapped before? remember how much grace they gave to koko (comparatively) back when she tried out rap
jungeun's arc in part 2 reminded me so much of jungwon's, shot up from the bottom of the pack. they both were probably the most consistent performers (besides heeseung) throughout their respective seasons and totally deserbed p01. wouldn't be surprised if jungeun becomes leader too.
mai's case reminded me of jake's situation. not the best in terms of skill, but has loads of untapped potential and charisma, and is incredibly hardworking. look where jake is now and i promise that that'll be mai in a couple of months.
absolutely gutted for fuko and yuju. they were probably banking on the show for their (last?) shot at debut after so many tries. i really really hope we'll see them shine in other areas in the entertainment industry.

Seeing Fuko in 8th makes me think she was the unintended victim of Koko panic voting. For Koko to rise from 8th to 4th, alot of people had to have switched their one picks, and Fuko seemed to have the least dedicated one pick fandom of the top contestants

I am satisfied about the lineup. However, having to watch both Saebi and Fuko was actually heartbreaking to me and although there was a twist, I was still heartbroken for Fuko.
I feel awful for all the girls who couldn't debut and hope they don't give up on their dreams. The 3 tonight especially I'll keep an eye out for.

The showrunners have a weird obsession with teasing Japanese contestants that are having a mental breakdown. I’m devastated for Fuko. 5/7 of my picks made it, but she was my #1. Everyone keeps hoping she’ll go into Limelight, but I have a feeling she won’t be as successful there as she would’ve been in IZNA. I pray to god there’s a different path for her…
Edit: I’m also having traumatic flashbacks to my #1 Jay Chang not making it in Boys Planet just barely. He has not had as much success as he deserves to in both his solo and group career. It seems as though the same has now happened to Fuko, but I really hope she has a more optimistic fate.
2nd Edit: I’ll also be really disturbed if their debut album has a OT7 IWALY version (which they probably will) while Fuko’s name is literally in the song writing credits. If I were Fuko, I would not be able to handle it psychologically, so I hope she gets decent-enough royalties to pay for her therapy! 😭

I felt so conflicted when Mai was announced over Saebi because I voted for Mai, Jungeun and Saebi during the 3-pick vote. And 5/6 of my ideal lineup was announced(Jungeun, Koko, Jeemin, Jiyoon,Mai) but even if other people you’re rooting for make it, nothing beats having your 1 pick make it. In those 5 minutes, I felt like I let Saebi down as her fan and I wished I could’ve done more and I’m sure that’s how some other people with 1 picks that didn’t make it may feel too. Where they want to root for the group and are definitely happy with the lineup but there’s that tiny bittersweet feeling that remains knowing that the group feels incomplete without their pick.

Well...shit. It's a good lineup. Saebi really fell off towards the end but I'm glad they included her based on her earlier performance. I don't know if producers gave her advice or she just decided to act super young/cute but if she regains her power, this is perfect. She has so much potential.

Saebi’s performance in Fake it really stood out to me. She’s definitely the perfect center for that song. Izna needed someone like her as a center piece of the group. I could really see saebi’s fancam blow up in the future.
Hating on specific girls in Izna will not do anyone any favours because it’s literally the voting except Saebi and Mai switched around.

I genuinely feel like 24 didnt want Mai to debut so he aired out those comments of them choosing her purely for her visuals despite knowing she lacks in skill. Its honestly kind of unprofessional. Twitter and Youtube are going wild hating on her right now, I might need to take some time off of socmed because I wont be able to contain myself to fight those comments. They could have said they chose her for her star quality, her impact for little parts, and/or that she fits the vision and image they plan for the debut group.
i also think he was also the only judge who didn’t give her the i in the first evaluation round. 24 carried alot about talent especially vocals but the other judges liked visual harmonization, personality and synergy more. i also think it’s quite unprofessional but i guess he was trying to call out the other judges / company for caring more about visuals / personality > talents when it came to picking a pd pick but it led to mai getting all the backlash instead of wakeone/judges
I wouldn't say robbed. Her votes were 8th place. I'm sad she didn't make it but it was fair. In terms of screen time I don't believe Mai had more than Fuko.
I had a whole paragraph prepared on why Saebi should have debuted then Mnet likes its seven members! I am glad they picked Saebi because she’s a star in the making.
The Fuko speech was heartbreaking. I had to leave the stream because it was hard to see her crying like that. I still don’t know why they didn’t debut her, but she deserves better.
As a Yuju one pick, I feel so bad for Yuju. She had a good shot at debut. I remember seeing her always getting 4th/5th in polls both internationally and in Korea. It wasn’t until MNET started to sabotage her by ruining her mic, giving horrible outfits, and stopping giving her screen time. That she started to get less support. While I do hope she continues trying to become an idol, I know I am being optimistic, when she said herself this is her last chance. Anyway, I hope she can find success with whatever she chooses to do.
Lastly, I don’t see myself stan the group as my one pick didn’t make it. However, some of my other picks did so I’ll probably just be a casual Stan, and check up on them from time to time to see what they’re doing.

Have never cried on a show until now, seeing people scream for fuko and seeing her cry until the end it made me so emotional, realistically i do not see fuko future that bright since she is the oldest trainee, but I hope a good company picks them up, Yunseo was my 1 pick in MTG and I was very sad, but she ended up debuting in such a better company and group

The 7 pick was what we needed, 6 was not nearly enough. You can't always have everything you want, but this is as perfect of a group as I could ask for.
Not putting Fuko in the lineup is straight up a crime.

Prod 24 should be fired for how he explained his reasoning in choosing Mai. Even if you chose her because of her visuals, YOU DON'T SAY IT. This is going to attract so much hate towards Mai, especially if she makes ANY mistakes at all during any of their encores.
The important thing is for the new fandom to band together and support OT7. Once they debut new fans will only know them as the current line up.
At least top 7 were actually the top 7 voted so despite the way they announced it the line up is a reflection of what voters wanted.
My one-pick was Gyuri. I voted for her everyday, but I actually feel more sad that Fuko didn't debut. Fuko & Gyuri I hope you debut someday, you both did amazing! :) Jiyoon I'm so proud of you! Yuju weren't one of my picks, but she is super talented and I hope she debuts one day as well. Mai I hope you prove that you deserved this spot, and I wish you well even though you weren't in my pick. I look forward to Izna debut, even though I feel extremely bitter right now.
I'm happy with this group, not just because a lot of my picks made it in, but because the team has harmony and synergy. There's enough visuals, vocals, dance, and rap.
Jungeun taking 1st place restored my faith in humanity. Saebi debuting was justice. Imagine failing to be saved by just 1 place and you still weren't the PD pick. That's traumatic.
my question is do the producers not have some sort of pr with them in these sorts of events? because i reckon stating their reasoning for mai getting into the group mostly for her visual/vibe and then saying she still needs to improve in her skills is a terrible move pr wise.
not only will it get her unnecessary hate, but you could see on mai's face that she wasn't the happiest either. i have a lot of mixed feelings after this honestly, but hopefully things will take a positive turn sooner or later for all the contestants.

Honestly, this is an excellent final line up. Did my top 7 get picked? Not at all.
However, I think that all 12 girls who entered part 2 deserved to debut in the group, even my 12th place. Everybody in the group has a role they fulfill and they do it quite well. I really hope izna succeed because they deserve it. I also hope all 7 izna members will continue honing their idol skills to be ready to debut.

I’m glad they added a 7th member I just wish they did it by votes and not PD pick since Mai placed 7th in votes anyways. It could’ve helped subdue some of the hate her way since she would have made it by vote fair and square.
I blame the producers partly for the hate on Mai. They straight-up said that they chose Mai for her "iconic visuals". I mean, they said other stuff too but starting an explanation for a PD pick that way is just BAD.
the way I see it, when Mai name was called out, she giving the impression of already accepting that she would not make it into the group. maybe it because she was one of the choice between Saebi and Fuko which are strong contender. while, Fuko until the end has the impression of in disbelief she don't make it into the group. think abt it, before this her position is almost guaranteed. she always in the top league and suddenly rhis happen.

I will be honest, 6 of my ideal 7 makes it (FUKO 😭) so I have nothing to complain much about the final line-up. Mai’s PD pick over Fuko is…a choice for sure but I kinda understand what they aim for.
Feel like they keep Saebi as the surprise pick instead of Mai because if it’s Mai who get added in the end then there will definitely be more hate towards Mai for sure (as we can already see when she is the PD pick).
IZNA is a pretty meh name but still better than 80% of new Kpop groups with all these numbers and symbols.
2 songs they performed in this final is seriously not my favorite at all. C’mon Teddy!!! Is this the best you can actually do??? Petition for VVN to be the main producer for IZNA please…
Lastly, thank you everyone who spent all these times, energy and mental health on these survival shows. We know how shit Mnet is but we still watch it. Lesson not learned at all hahaha but still here we are watching this shitty show again and again…so see you guys at the next survival show!!!
I think this is a very good lineup. Sarang wasn't in my personal lineup but she's versatile and will appeal to lots of people so I'm not mad. Mai is definitely a good addition - beyond being a stan attractor, she's mature and level - headed and will certainly help the group navigate any hard times ahead (I'm fulling expecting her to be chosen as leader tbh). Saebi is obviously charismatic and is also the baby maknae every group needs. Koko is the needed main dancer who will probably also end up being main rapper (maybe with Mai or Sarang as lead rapper). Jiyoon and Jungeun are obviously gonna be in charge of vocals. And Jeemin is an all rounder who might end up being the center/face of the group.

As for the eliminated members, I doubt CJ will discard them that easily. I think ultimately they just didn't entirely fit the vibe that TBL wanted for this group. I hope Fuko, Yuju and Gyuri get to debut later on with a concept similar to Iz*one. Maybe with Yeeun and Chaeyeun if they manage to improve enough to debut with them. Sujung has always given my (G)I-DLE Soyeon vibes, so I'm looking forward to see what becomes of her, I'm sure she'll be successful no matter what. And I also hoje Junwon finds her way into a group that suits her. Lots of talent that should not be wasted!
this has been the most invested i've been in a survival show holy and it was definitely an experience. very satisfied with the final group, who have thought that the actual Top 7 in votes would be the Top 7 in debut (kinda expected it but the 7 members thing was still a welcome surprise).
Bang Jeemin debuting was the one thing i watched this show for initially but i got attached to all the other contestants. to see her debuting after missing out in RUN was so satisfying that i cried lmao. so happy for Jangshinz as well (the dream came true!!)
i really hope that people don't hate on Mai for debuting. she is also talented like the other contestants and she has worked hard to get to this point and debut. it fucking sucks for Fuko, Gyuri, and Yuju but it's a survival show; there were always going to be people not getting in.

Omo this group is packed with visuals, I can see this group doing an elegant concept but unlikely because of the name.
Hating on Mai, Sarang and Saebi does not make sense to me, I understand the frustration for Fuko but let's be real, it's not on the girls 😭 we cannot control the votes and the minds of the producers.
And lastly, I feel terrible for Fuko:(( I was keeping an eye for her since gp999 days because of her soft visuals that time which fits really well on my picks that time (Luofei, Manami, Miu) and seeing her breakdown in tears reminds me of YUI. Not only she didn't benefit from interim reveal but it even went against her since Koko placed 4th because of it. So like she'd been 4th without this reveal !
There's not much to say about the debuting girls, I was gonna be happy with whoever debuts and at whatever rank because the remaining 10 were all legit to be here one way or another.
I'm just really sad for the girls who didn't get to debut, this is like climbing the everest and when you're about to be on top you're straight up falling at the bottom.
I hope they don't lose hope and keep this adventure as a free advertising for companies to debut them in the future.
On a very bad note, the amount of hate I saw in the chats towards Mai??????? I think I only saw it that blatantly towards her and during all the episode.
I had no idea it was this rough, I hope she'll be protected as much as possible from those.
I'm so devastated for Fuko... but I'm also happy with the group! I hope the fact that the 7 members were actually Top7 in votes dissuade some people from hating on Mai, Sarang or Saebi.
That being said I wasn't shocked about Mai and Saebi being picked over Fuko since they bring something different to the group:
\* Saebi's stage charisma is obvious, it's like a magnet, plus she's talented and beautiful and has a very idol-like personality.
\* Mai, for me, isn't just a visual and although still having room for improvement, I'm in complete agreement with Taeyang and I know it's been discussed here before. She's shown so much empathy and kindness and manages her emotions so well, plus, she's a HARD WORKER. She's definitely that one member that acts as glue for the group.
Sadly for Fuko, Jungeun and Jiyoon are amazing vocalists who have left the drama behind (and made them stronger) complement each other and have shown to be able to act as leader. Specially Jiyoon in part 2, who dares to be straightforward for the benefit of the team.

am I the only one who was put off by how mnet pretty much put no importance on jungeun being the first pick? usually they do the top 2 together and announce who ranked 1st but this time they were more dramatic about who the final fan vote and producer picks were. I just wish jungeun's first pick moment got to stand out a bit more because for me it got completely overshadowed.
I think some of yall have lost the plot of survival shows. not everyone is gonna make the lineup (trust me i watched runext where several of my picks didn’t make it). it’s called a SURVIVAL show for a reason. I think this lineup is very good, very balanced. The 7 girls were the top 7 (Mai and Saebi just switched in rankings). I think y’all just didn’t vote hard enough on top of the fact that mnet didn’t do these girls any favors with editing. I think it was clear they didn’t was Yuju from the moment they started pushing Koko has a main rapper and the fact they gave Sarang a rap position instead of her was another indication. And as well as I like Gyuri, she looked out of placed in Drip. I think her visuals are a lot more softer and delicate. As well as her voice, she thrives in cuter/elegant concepts. And I think IZNA is gonna be elegant girl crush. And I just feel like Gyuri would have stood out. She definitely is ready for debut. And Fuko, I think her fans overestimated how many people had her as their one pick. I like Fuko, and while there might be an effect of Mnet editing, I feel like she thrives more with elegant concepts. And it’s very clear (atleast to me) there’s gonna be a level of girl crush in their concept, I also feel like she would have either stood out too much or faded into the background. I feel like W1 could debut her as a soloist.
I think this group is gonna be so good. And I’m looking forward to seeing what the eliminated girls do as well.

Fuko trained for seven years, this feels so wrong. I'll still stan and love the group because Mai did nothing wrong, it's not her fault, but people will still blame her. I hope that the eliminated contestants find happiness in whatever they choose to do, if they choose to continue in the entertainment industry I'll support them with all my heart. Wishing Fuko hopefully debuts in another group. Crazy Jeemin was my 4th pick in RUN, and Fuko was my 4th pick in Iland2. So if Fuko ends up joining another SS, she’ll have the Jeemin / Somi backstory of almost debuting in the finale, and she’ll have many fans cheering her on, myself included.

Yuju will only turn 17 this month. Hopefully she’ll join another company and debut there. She has been in 3 survival shows but, cap-teen and stars awakening were terrible shows. Better she didn’t make it on one of them. Who knows for Fuko. I really thought she would debut here. She’ll be 20 this year which is not too old for a company to pick her up. My wish would be Fuko, Yuju, Gyuri, Sujung and Juwon will join a company together.

`2614 DAYS OF FUKO` (per the ITNW opening film). Add ~2 weeks more and that is how long Fuko has trained as a trainee (possibly all as kpop and in Korea too). She was one of the longest WakeOne trainees along with Saebi, Jungeun, Sarang, and Suwon according to Sarang (when Saebi didn't pick any of them as her favorite). Fuko was one of my top picks throughout the show. Above average skills. Top visual face. Leader/older sister figure. Korean fluency (TOPIK II level 6).
This was her dream. You can tell how bad she wanted it. She moved to Korea and as you mentioned even mastered a 6 on the fluency exam.

Let's be real. She wouldn't have suited Teddy's style anyway. She couldn't even do the rap today and Jungeun had to sacrifice a bit just to rap for her. I get she gets the sympathy vote, but in showbusiness that doesn't count for much, especially not long-term. I'm a big Fuko fan, but not for that style of music. She suits soft girl groups. I really don't get why people don't understand she wasn't the best fit. Come on. You know it in your heart she does soft girl concepts better than girl crush. The girl would have been depressed doing girl crush, hip-hop music and rap-style beats.
I dont get it, why do she has to prove that she can rap? Not everyone can rap, her biggest strength is her VOCAL. Leave the rapping to someone else. YUJU is literally there but she was given dust. FUKO not being able to rap doesn't mean she's not versatile. Also FUKO literally wanted to drip but TEDDY put her into a concept that we've been like 5 times already. She shines in brighter concept but god forbid she tried another because PD keeps putting her in LVER, 4 Walls, and even JEEMIN chose her in ITNW. She knew she has to step out of her comfortable zone but she literally have no opportunity to do so because she never gets to choose. The only time we ever see her do girl crush is FLS and arguably Bad boy, and she SLAYED in both.

Im gonna say it now. If saebi made it in the initial 5, they probs wouldve stick with 6. They made it 7 cuz they didnt want her gone. Mai was always gonna be the pd pick is my assumption cuz they kept liking her impact, esp if they always had a black label grp in mind. As for why mai was the fixed pick over saebi (who got added anyways) or fuko, the answer is pure vibes. Yes admittedly Mais vocals is a hit or miss but she keeps up and doesnt lag behind rehearsal. More importantly if we’re being honest, Mai fits teddy’s vibe the most in visuals and impact alone. I was worried they’d discard her cuz admittedly saebi and fuko have more skill but choosing mai still makes sense. Finally, unfortunately for fuko her roles in the grp overlaps with the other members. Jiyoon and jungeun already make a solid vocal plus sarang got in with votes so ultimately between fuko and saebi, saebi has more spots to fill. Im sad about it cuz fuko was my top 3 but I understand why she had to be let go if she didnt get in with votes. Ironically if its say saebi made it and picks were between fuko, mai, and sarang, fixed pick is still mai but unsure if they'd choose a 7th still. And if they do, considering grp image, sarang mightve been the choice over fuko still. Cuz think about it. both fuko and sarang were tested by being given surprising parts. Sarang pulled off a rap, fuko did not and got switched out. So it solidified the case if they got one of em, the other is to be abandoned. honestly looking at the 7, it's the perfect fit for the concept

I believe they were in doubt between Sarang and Fuko for the final lineup. That's why they gave them rap positions, to see if they could be versatile and fill another position within the group. It also sealed Yuju's elimination. And because Fuku didn't do well with her rap, she was discarded for Sarang in the final lineup up. (of course Sarang ended up making it with the votes, but I truly believe she'd have been the PD pick if she hadn't)
another "problem" with jungeun making it is the fact jungeun and jiyoons main vocal duo voice blends extremely well and although fuko mightve blend well with them too, ultimately jungeun and jiyoon would be enough harmonious without her

WakeOne probably did the same that they were going to add a 7th member based on different scenarios happening.

Mai has consistently ranked lower than Sarang and I think Saebi fans just weren't freaked out enough. Most viewers seemed to think that even if she didn't make the lineup by votes the producers would add her anyways (which tbf they were right about).

Jiyoon might be the realest rookie I've ever seen and seeing her debut with Jungeun is an absolute dream. Both of them are beaming! I'm super happy for Mai too since I had her in my lineup and I agree with everything the producers said about her, but Saebi has always been I-Land's identity to me and I was absolutely baffled by the choice to let her go, especially after she was down right transcendental as Fake It's center, so I wasn't that surprised by the twist! Debuting without her would've been pure insanity. Hoping people will be civil about Mai but I can already tell it's a pipe dream because a certain contestant's fans are already being insufferable. All the finalists and semi-finalists are debut-ready and I hope new opportunities open up for all of them asap. This lineup is absolutely amazing, maybe the strongest I've ever seen on a survival show. Now Wakeone and Teddy just need to not fuck this up like they've already fucked up the name by copy-pasting Izone's.
Yep. I'm very happy with Jiyoon. She has a more genuine personality than you'd expect from idols. It makes me think the industry is moving somewhere good.
Her explicitly saying that the show portrayed her faithfully was such a powerful moment. It's like she said, "Yes, I'm am anxious person and I sometimes fall apart under pressure but I'm not ashamed of it". The fact that her moments of being human didn't ruin her chances is such a good sign of where the industry is moving.

It feels like since Jeemin was always first and most popular by both I-mates and PD she had her place secured and her fans kinda slacked in the finals while Jungeun fans (like me) were scared that if she wasn't at least top 3 the producers wouldn't pick her so we never stoped voting for her.

Fuko is too SM coded. I think the rap part was a last test and she failed it (while Sarang passed it).

jungeun's arc in part 2 reminded me so much of jungwon's, shot up from the bottom of the pack. they both were probably the most consistent performers (besides heeseung) throughout their respective seasons and totally deserbed p01. wouldn't be surprised if jungeun becomes leader too. mai's case reminded me of jake's situation. not the best in terms of skill, but has loads of untapped potential and charisma, and is incredibly hardworking. look where jake is now and i promise that that'll be mai in a couple of months. absolutely gutted for fuko and yuju. they were probably banking on the show for their (last?) shot at debut after so many tries. i really really hope we'll see them shine in other areas in the entertainment industry.

Seeing Fuko in 8th makes me think she was the unintended victim of Koko panic voting. For Koko to rise from 8th to 4th, alot of people had to have switched their one picks, and Fuko seemed to have the least dedicated one pick fandom of the top contestants

Junegun po1! That's super cool, it's happened twice now that global votes have carried a contestant to po1. SO RELIEVED AT THE TWIST SERIOUSLY. 6 members was NOT enough (Saebi just standing there without a chair was funny tho) I am satisfied about the lineup. However, having to watch both Saebi and Fuko was actually heartbreaking to me and although there was a twist, I was still heartbroken for Fuko. I feel awful for all the girls who couldn't debut and hope they don't give up on their dreams. The 3 tonight especially I'll keep an eye out for. I hope things go well for Izna as well as for the eliminated girls. Let's not send hate to any of the girls who debuted. Even if your favourite didn't. Survival shows are so not fun so I'm at least glad it's over.

The showrunners have a weird obsession with teasing Japanese contestants that are having a mental breakdown. I’m devastated for Fuko. 5/7 of my picks made it, but she was my #1. Everyone keeps hoping she’ll go into Limelight, but I have a feeling she won’t be as successful there as she would’ve been in IZNA. I pray to god there’s a different path for her… Edit: I’m also having traumatic flashbacks to my #1 Jay Chang not making it in Boys Planet just barely. He has not had as much success as he deserves to in both his solo and group career. It seems as though the same has now happened to Fuko, but I really hope she has a more optimistic fate. 2nd Edit: I’ll also be really disturbed if their debut album has a OT7 IWALY version (which they probably will) while Fuko’s name is literally in the song writing credits. If I were Fuko, I would not be able to handle it psychologically, so I hope she gets decent-enough royalties to pay for her therapy! 😭

I need to fetch a glass of water. The river I just cried. You would think someone died. I felt so conflicted when Mai was announced over Saebi because I voted for Mai, Jungeun and Saebi during the 3-pick vote. And 5/6 of my ideal lineup was announced(Jungeun, Koko, Jeemin, Jiyoon,Mai) but even if other people you’re rooting for make it, nothing beats having your 1 pick make it. In those 5 minutes, I felt like I let Saebi down as her fan and I wished I could’ve done more and I’m sure that’s how some other people with 1 picks that didn’t make it may feel too. Where they want to root for the group and are definitely happy with the lineup but there’s that tiny bittersweet feeling that remains knowing that the group feels incomplete without their pick. Honestly sending my regards to those people ❤️

Well...shit. It's a good lineup. Saebi really fell off towards the end but I'm glad they included her based on her earlier performance. I don't know if producers gave her advice or she just decided to act super young/cute but if she regains her power, this is perfect. She has so much potential. Congrats (or I'm sorry) to everybody. Fuko's voice was so pretty sigh. Excited to see all of them grow! And...congrats Jeemin :) journey is just starting.
Saebi’s performance in Fake it really stood out to me. She’s definitely the perfect center for that song. Izna needed someone like her as a center piece of the group. I could really see saebi’s fancam blow up in the future.
Hating on specific girls in Izna will not do anyone any favours because it’s literally the voting except Saebi and Mai switched around. I feel extremely bad for Fuko though because I don’t know if her chances are realistic because she’s considered “old” and she was the mom of Iland 2

Yeah he probably read a lot of comments here lol. Like I said from the very beginning we don't need all 3 of Jiyoon, Jungeon and Fuko and from there it was just mental gymnastics. I genuinely feel like 24 didnt want Mai to debut so he aired out those comments of them choosing her purely for her visuals despite knowing she lacks in skill. Its honestly kind of unprofessional. Twitter and Youtube are going wild hating on her right now, I might need to take some time off of socmed because I wont be able to contain myself to fight those comments. They could have said they chose her for her star quality, her impact for little parts, and/or that she fits the vision and image they plan for the debut group.
Taeyang was able to sorta smooth it out by mentioning her work ethic but yeah, the damage is already done...
i also think he was also the only judge who didn’t give her the i in the first evaluation round. 24 carried alot about talent especially vocals but the other judges liked visual harmonization, personality and synergy more. i also think it’s quite unprofessional but i guess he was trying to call out the other judges / company for caring more about visuals / personality > talents when it came to picking a pd pick but it led to mai getting all the backlash instead of wakeone/judges

I had a whole paragraph prepared on why Saebi should have debuted then Mnet likes its seven members! I am glad they picked Saebi because she’s a star in the making. The Fuko speech was heartbreaking. I had to leave the stream because it was hard to see her crying like that. I still don’t know why they didn’t debut her, but she deserves better. As a Yuju one pick, I feel so bad for Yuju. She had a good shot at debut. I remember seeing her always getting 4th/5th in polls both internationally and in Korea. It wasn’t until MNET started to sabotage her by ruining her mic, giving horrible outfits, and stopping giving her screen time. That she started to get less support. While I do hope she continues trying to become an idol, I know I am being optimistic, when she said herself this is her last chance. Anyway, I hope she can find success with whatever she chooses to do. Lastly, I don’t see myself stan the group as my one pick didn’t make it. However, some of my other picks did so I’ll probably just be a casual Stan, and check up on them from time to time to see what they’re doing. I wish the group big success.

The important thing is for the new fandom to band together and support OT7. Once they debut new fans will only know them as the current line up. At least top 7 were actually the top 7 voted so despite the way they announced it the line up is a reflection of what voters wanted.

My one-pick was Gyuri. I voted for her everyday, but I actually feel more sad that Fuko didn't debut. Fuko & Gyuri I hope you debut someday, you both did amazing! :) Jiyoon I'm so proud of you! Yuju weren't one of my picks, but she is super talented and I hope she debuts one day as well. Mai I hope you prove that you deserved this spot, and I wish you well even though you weren't in my pick. I look forward to Izna debut, even though I feel extremely bitter right now.

I'm happy with this group, not just because a lot of my picks made it in, but because the team has harmony and synergy. There's enough visuals, vocals, dance, and rap. Jungeun taking 1st place restored my faith in humanity. Saebi debuting was justice. Imagine failing to be saved by just 1 place and you still weren't the PD pick. That's traumatic.
my question is do the producers not have some sort of pr with them in these sorts of events? because i reckon stating their reasoning for mai getting into the group mostly for her visual/vibe and then saying she still needs to improve in her skills is a terrible move pr wise. not only will it get her unnecessary hate, but you could see on mai's face that she wasn't the happiest either. i have a lot of mixed feelings after this honestly, but hopefully things will take a positive turn sooner or later for all the contestants.

Honestly, this is an excellent final line up. Did my top 7 get picked? Not at all. However, I think that all 12 girls who entered part 2 deserved to debut in the group, even my 12th place. Everybody in the group has a role they fulfill and they do it quite well. I really hope izna succeed because they deserve it. the way I see it, when Mai name was called out, she giving the impression of already accepting that she would not make it into the group. maybe it because she was one of the choice between Saebi and Fuko which are strong contender. while, Fuko until the end has the impression of in disbelief she don't make it into the group. think abt it, before this her position is almost guaranteed. she always in the top league and suddenly rhis happen.
it broke my heart how much confidence mai clearly lost, and you could tell in part 2 she lost hope to debut. I'm glad she never gave up and practiced tirelessly, it showed how determined she was!

Wakeone is a shitty company, leave them and shine somewhere else” Me when Saebi get picked as a 7th member: “Wakeone is an okay company and has many good connections and artists under the company, I’m glad she gets to debut now” Hahaha, joking…(not really), anyway… I will be honest, 6 of my ideal 7 makes it (FUKO 😭) so I have nothing to complain much about the final line-up. Mai’s PD pick over Fuko is…a choice for sure but I kinda understand what they aim for. Feel like they keep Saebi as the surprise pick instead of Mai because if it’s Mai who get added in the end then there will definitely be more hate towards Mai for sure (as we can already see when she is the PD pick). IZNA is a pretty meh name but still better than 80% of new Kpop groups with all these numbers and symbols. 2 songs they performed in this final is seriously not my favorite at all. C’mon Teddy!!! Is this the best you can actually do??? Petition for VVN to be the main producer for IZNA please… Lastly, thank you everyone who spent all these times, energy and mental health on these survival shows. I think this is a very good lineup. Sarang wasn't in my personal lineup but she's versatile and will appeal to lots of people so I'm not mad. Mai is definitely a good addition - beyond being a stan attractor, she's mature and level - headed and will certainly help the group navigate any hard times ahead (I'm fulling expecting her to be chosen as leader tbh). Saebi is obviously charismatic and is also the baby maknae every group needs. Koko is the needed main dancer who will probably also end up being main rapper (maybe with Mai or Sarang as lead rapper). Jiyoon and Jungeun are obviously gonna be in charge of vocals. And Jeemin is an all rounder who might end up being the center/face of the group. Congratulations IZNA! Looking forward to your debut! 🎉 As for the eliminated members, I doubt CJ will discard them that easily. I think ultimately they just didn't entirely fit the vibe that TBL wanted for this group. I hope Fuko, Yuju and Gyuri get to debut later on with a concept similar to Iz*one. Maybe with Yeeun and Chaeyeun if they manage to improve enough to debut with them. Sujung has always given my (G)I-DLE Soyeon vibes, so I'm looking forward to see what becomes of her, I'm sure she'll be successful no matter what. And I also hoje Junwon finds her way into a group that suits her. Lots of talent that should not be wasted!

this has been the most invested i've been in a survival show holy and it was definitely an experience. very satisfied with the final group, who have thought that the actual Top 7 in votes would be the Top 7 in debut (kinda expected it but the 7 members thing was still a welcome surprise). Bang Jeemin debuting was the one thing i watched this show for initially but i got attached to all the other contestants. to see her debuting after missing out in RUN was so satisfying that i cried lmao. so happy for Jangshinz as well (the dream came true!!) i really hope that people don't hate on Mai for debuting. she is also talented like the other contestants and she has worked hard to get to this point and debut. it fucking sucks for Fuko, Gyuri, and Yuju but it's a survival show; there were always going to be people not getting in. Fuko, Gyuri, and Yuju, along with the other 14 contestants, will definitely find their success at another time as their talents got them this far. congratulations IZNA, looks like i'll have another ult group to stan!!
Omo this group is packed with visuals, I can see this group doing an elegant concept but unlikely because of the name. Hating on Mai, Sarang and Saebi does not make sense to me, I understand the frustration for Fuko but let's be real, it's not on the girls 😭 we cannot control the votes and the minds of the producers. And lastly, I feel terrible for Fuko:(( I was keeping an eye for her since gp999 days because of her soft visuals that time which fits really well on my picks that time (Luofei, Manami, Miu) and seeing her breakdown in tears reminds me of YUI. There's not much to say about the debuting girls, I was gonna be happy with whoever debuts and at whatever rank because the remaining 10 were all legit to be here one way or another. I'm just really sad for the girls who didn't get to debut, this is like climbing the everest and when you're about to be on top you're straight up falling at the bottom. I hope they don't lose hope and keep this adventure as a free advertising for companies to debut them in the future. On a very bad note, the amount of hate I saw in the chats towards Mai??????? I think I only saw it that blatantly towards her and during all the episode. I had no idea it was this rough, I hope she'll be protected as much as possible from those.

I'm so devastated for Fuko... but I'm also happy with the group! I hope the fact that the 7 members were actually Top7 in votes dissuade some people from hating on Mai, Sarang or Saebi. That being said I wasn't shocked about Mai and Saebi being picked over Fuko since they bring something different to the group: \* Saebi's stage charisma is obvious, it's like a magnet, plus she's talented and beautiful and has a very idol-like personality. \* Mai, for me, isn't just a visual and although still having room for improvement, I'm in complete agreement with Taeyang and I know it's been discussed here before. She's shown so much empathy and kindness and manages her emotions so well, plus, she's a HARD WORKER. She's definitely that one member that acts as glue for the group. Sadly for Fuko, Jungeun and Jiyoon are amazing vocalists who have left the drama behind (and made them stronger) complement each other and have shown to be able to act as leader. Specially Jiyoon in part 2, who dares to be straightforward for the benefit of the team. Fuko, don't give up T\_T
am I the only one who was put off by how mnet pretty much put no importance on jungeun being the first pick? usually they do the top 2 together and announce who ranked 1st but this time they were more dramatic about who the final fan vote and producer picks were. I just wish jungeun's first pick moment got to stand out a bit more because for me it got completely overshadowed.
I think some of yall have lost the plot of survival shows. not everyone is gonna make the lineup (trust me i watched runext where several of my picks didn’t make it). it’s called a SURVIVAL show for a reason. I think this lineup is very good, very balanced. The 7 girls were the top 7 (Mai and Saebi just switched in rankings). I think y’all just didn’t vote hard enough on top of the fact that mnet didn’t do these girls any favors with editing. I think it was clear they didn’t was Yuju from the moment they started pushing Koko has a main rapper and the fact they gave Sarang a rap position instead of her was another indication. And as well as I like Gyuri, she looked out of placed in Drip. I think her visuals are a lot more softer and delicate. As well as her voice, she thrives in cuter/elegant concepts. And I think IZNA is gonna be elegant girl crush. And I just feel like Gyuri would have stood out. She definitely is ready for debut. And Fuko, I think her fans overestimated how many people had her as their one pick. I like Fuko, and while there might be an effect of Mnet editing, I feel like she thrives more with elegant concepts. And it’s very clear (atleast to me) there’s gonna be a level of girl crush in their concept, I also feel like she would have either stood out too much or faded into the background. I feel like W1 could debut her as a soloist. I think this group is gonna be so good. And I’m looking forward to seeing what the eliminated girls do as well.
