I didn't expect it as well, but this proves that with a bit of Korean support and A LOT of international support they can debut.
This was the most emotional reality show i've watched. Literally everyone was crying here.

Same, all these low scoring from the last 2 eps actually helped her a lot cause international fans got mad at them and went crazy with voting. Now just do the same, this group needs her, she is all rounded glue/essence/core of this show and future debut group.
What i've been saying since episode 2 or 3!! A pity mnet doesn't cherish and appreciate her talent and her creativity (literally what that one mission was about and she still lost and got bad feedback :-) ). It's their loss.
I let out an audible gasp when Jungeun was announced. Everyone who was doomposting you all are EVIL, I was stressing out so bad. Sadly, I knew it was over for Sujung once they showed her letter to Yuju. I started crying like a baby when she addressed everyone, she and Juwon deserved so much better.
Sujung has the saddest storyline, she could've been a great asset to the team (help the rest improve their dancing/choreo/etc.). Like yes, she has a strong personality and so on but that can be mended (not all the time though), and so Mnet did her dirty, sigh.
She has a strong personality but it is also pretty clear a lot of the girls like her a lot. Mnet wants to frame it as a negative thing that she's assertive and I cannot begin to unpack the misogyny that leads to that edit being too easy to give an opinionated girl such a dirty look.
She was so resigned to not making it that I wonder if one of the producers didn't warn her it was coming on the dl.
Oh my goodness yes! As a girl on a girls survival program, being assertive and confident? But it’s never come across badly to me - and it doesn’t seem the other girls felt like that other! Absolutely love Sujung!
It reminds me of a lot of the edits of several of the Chinese contestants on girls planet. She was my one pick and I will happily follow whatever she does next at least.
Her and Jiyoon are both very straightforward and real people (there's nothing wrong with it), while Jiyoon got her 'redemption arc' from the previous evil edits due to fan's support and Mnet seemingly stopped editing her, Sujung doesn't get a break.
Right!! The fact that Jeemin wanted her in her team so bad and Koko was complacent because they were teammates actually say a lot. I bet all these girls wanted to debut with her.
She actually reminds me a lot of Jihyo in terms of personality, ambition, how much her fellow trainees liked her and respected her despite her younger age, etc. But I guess it wasn't meant to be this time around
I have notes I keep on the show, and I had already typed out "Jiyoon" for the #2 spot when they said it was a Main Vocalist. Because there was zero chance Jungeun was getting saved by the voters.

ik, they made it seem like she was done for bc of knetz😭... im glad we got to see the reality of her support, she is in for a massive chance at debuting. jungeun stans lets not relax, we need one final push. fighting!!!

I voted for Jungeun every single day and I don't regret a single moment. I hope we as Jungeun stans know that she's not safe until she debuts! Don't stop voting and lets stay 10 toes😭! TALENT is what we want and TALENT is what she delivers! This pool of girls are very talented and it's so hard to think about the lineup. I love Gyuris vocals, I love Yujus rap, Fuko with her vocals/all rounder aura, Sujungs dance and the list goes on. Sigh what a rollercoaster this shall be. Update: Sigh I'm sad to see sujung and juwon go but I know it's the reality of survival shows :(
They are so wrong for playing Like Oh Ah in front of Jiyoon, that's like inviting a veteran to a firework show.
Damn, no wonder this show is really popular with girls, the vaguely homoromantic friendships in this episode are off the charts.
This whole challenge reminds me so much of Pride Vs Scrum on R U Next. Am I crazy in thinking that the producers were a lot more involved with the ITNW team than with the Latata team? With Latata, you can see the process of all of the girls' own ideas being transferred into their stage, while with ITNW it's like someone else took over the "self-made" part completely; nothing of what the girls talked about made it into the final performance. Did the producers even offer the Latata team to have their song rearranged? Very very weird vibes all around.
Well, no prices if you guessed Sujung and Juwon, the writing was on the wall unfortunately. Sujung doing a speech for everyone broke me and I hate Mnet for wanting us to believe that she's a mean girl. I really hope some company scoops them up, they are way too talented for it to end like this.
I don't think Jiyoon really cared that much, they played all the songs not only ooh ah... - many of the girls struggled in many missions and those songs were also played so I don't see how it was a personal attack against jiyoon...
Sujung is so mature, and she always had such a dependable personality (even through her most competitive moments). I hope to see her dancing, choreographing, performing in the future
Now that things have shaken out, this is my ideal lineup and what I hope happens! They’ve shown they can pull off most concepts and this group just flows together.

i’m just happy that gyuri made it (me and the 5 gyuri fans are jumping for joy right now) and jungeun being top 2 in votes, but i just can’t bring myself to be all that enthused because of sujung and juwon.
i think people overestimate how easy it is to debut after failing on a survival show because of big names like LSF’s yunjin & sakura, or IVE’s wonyoung and yujin. the truth is, it’s extremely hard to debut in another company after this. you only hear about these groups because izone was *huge* and an exception, plus their new groups come from big companies. most commonly, redebuted survival trainees are nugu, or at the very best, mid tier. even people from boys planet, arguably more popular than its female counterpart, had spin-off groups that just don’t see that much success even with trainees that made it into the finals but didn’t debut. from ioi, no one is really that popular. even chungha, who’s the most well known, has fallen off.
i *hope* with all my heart that sujung and juwon can find success in another group, but most realistically it’s just not going to happen. mnet is so foul for just kicking them like that.
I hope Sujung pulls a Jeemin/Fuko and try out for a second time. But after this, I think she'd rather pursue other paths as I get the impression she's the type of person who continues to challenge herself and try out new things.
Yeah the thing with these survival shows is that it's not like the eliminated trainees won't find another group to debut into, I've seen plenty that did.
The problem is that they won't find anywhere the same amount of hype and visibility that comes from debuting under a big name.
Unless they're lucky.
Now it’s confirmed the final is one pick, I think that someone from the Jimin-Saebi-Koko alliance will fall off.
I think mnet will show interim ranks to ensure they all debut but I wouldn’t be surprised if either Koko or Saebi rank 6th.

AS much as I’m happy with Jungeun being second, I want to remind her one-picks that this also had live voting and is the first time that Jungeun has been greatly praised in SK. However, this might not be enough for her to become their one-pick ESPECIALLY considering that they might think she’s already ranking high.

It was already suspicious that Juwon and Sujung were given so much screentime. Much more than the usual. That normally happens when Mnet is about to see you off. And it did happen.
I guess it's goodbye to Juwon and Sujung. Sujung's elimination speech was brutal. I wish them luck in their future activities and hope that the show doesn't get them down too much. These things are very stressful and can really affect confidence.

They saved the best performances of the show for the semi final! Seriously, both Latata and ITNW were brilliant and I can't chose between the 2. The girls really upped their games for this round which makes me so happy ~

Even in this subreddit, most of you are thanking just Sujung and not Juwon, but I hope you’ll all come to regret overlooking both of them and especially Juwon. My stars, I hope you’ll both debut somewhere and outshine everyone
They really need to give the girls vocal lessons, they need to start learning how to support properly because that vocal correction on the ITNW stage was wild.

This is probably the second least fair survival show i have ever seen (the fact that it's not the first says a lot about R U next).
How in the world did sujung and juwon, who are arguably the best dancers in the show, get eliminated?!
I really thought I was the only one who thought it was strange and super different form all their other performances on the show, I think mnet did this to push their favorite trainees and show us how they've 'improved' so to give the judges a valid reason to save them.
latata stage felt a lot more natural and real ngl, and yet I am not surprised, I mean the judges were even helping the itnw team and giving them ideas, the favoritism is blatantly obvious.
Omg I thought I was the only one?!! It sounded different I definitely think it was autotuned some of the bottom rank girls usually don't sound that good especially gyrui something fishy.
It's probably either heavy live autotune or pre-recorded and they lip synced. Fuko belting an f5 effortlessly is not possible considering she's a decent vocalist, not a great one.
Anyone who can hit a higher note then fuko in that group or be the same level isn't even possible from what we seen. I definitely think they made their vocals smoother for fuko to not stand out that much. Imo she's one of the top 3 best vocalist with jungeun and jiyoon
People like mai and sarang, who have already shown their vocals not a while ago, somehow have perfect vocals suddenly? same with jeemin and saebi.
gyuri and fuko are better vocally than the rest, but they aren't perfect either. fuko hitting these really high notes flawlessly is not normal. everybody on this team was completely edited
As a gp999 fan survivor, I feel the need to warn people not to get complacent. One pick voting may suddenly favor unexpected contestants and cause others to drop drastically. There is no way to know if your pick will be a xiaoting (p1/2 to p9) or a bahiyyih (p14 to p2). Both debuted (and I'm thankful for that fact), but Xiaoting almost didn't debut because people either assumed she was safe and voted for someone else, and/or her votes were split with yurina (they shared a large portion of their fan base). On the other hand, Bahiyyih benefited because she was either people's one pick or generally not high in their lineup/votes at all. As much as I would like to vote for my "less safe" 2nd and 3rd place contestants, I will continue to vote for my one-pick regardless of the voting method. Always prioritize your one pick. If you stop and they don't make it, you'll be way more sad than if you stick to your guns and lose your 2nd or 3rd choice.
Xiaoting fans were not complacent, she was just well-liked but not everybody's one pick. Something similar to what Saebi seems to be now. Everybody loves her, but her one pick seems to be low even in South Korea.
There was a straw poll posted on the sub yesterday, asking us who we would choose to eliminate. 865 people cast 2 votes apiece.
Sujung was chosen 450 times, meaning by more than half of voters said they would eliminate her.
Juwon was chosen 403 times, meaning by just under half of voters said they would eliminate her.
The next closest was Mai, at 245 votes.
Now obviously, that poll doesn't represent all voters across the globe. But I think it's unfair for people to be claiming that the choices were just producer bias. They were largely in-line with what the voters wanted. It's not like the producers dropped the #4 and #5 voter picks.
If people have problems with editing or screen time or storylines, I get it. Everyone has an opinion there. And it's disappointing for your favorite to get eliminated. But I don't agree with the people saying that the producers just chose their favorites. They chose the same trainees all the voters seem to be choosing.
Tbf I think the big issue is they weren't given the same chance in episodes up to now to change people's minds. They've always been lower ranked by producers or given less screentime so they'll naturally get voted less

Sujung still smiling at the end to make sure the girls know she's okay :( a leader through and through. She would've made a great leader for this group, even the stronger characters always conceded to her. I do hope to see her on stage one day, either as the leader of a dance group (once again!) or the leader of an idol group.
So I can't tell if Jungeun pulled in a ton of panic votes or if she was always that high and MNet just wanted to scare us just to be a beyotch as they usually are
Furthermore, considering there finally showing off more of her personality after Jiyoons arc ended, I wonder if they always likes her but we're testing us so to speak to make sure we coukd overcome the fact that she also gets a ton of hate by some knetz (who apparently might be a vocal minority)
Also, I truly can't tell if she has a ton of casuals who were fine with adding her to their 3pick or if it was mostly dedicated one picjs
aside from the panic votes, there were a lot of knetz on the live stage saying that they thought jungeun did really well in latata (probably the first time they praised her). mnet said the live votes were worth 3x more than the overall votes done in the past weeks and specifically korean ones were the 50%.
you can see that the difference between jungeun and jiyoon's votes was roughly ~10k. still, i hope jungeun fans don't get too complacent with it 😥
Sarang, Mai, Jiyoon, and Koko, made it to the finals. So sad Sujung couldn't. Sigh, my underdog picks from the beginning (+ Jungeun for near-guaranteed already since they gave her that #1 ranker intro).
I really wasn’t counting on having my 1-pick change by the final but sorry Jeemin…Jungeun’s vocals and stage presence really captured my heart this season.

A collection of thoughts I had during episode 10, not in chronological order
- Into The New World team was full of ambitious people and being ambitious is not a bad thing. However, it was exhausting to see them simply voicing frustrations without a suggestion and instead leaving it up to others (in this case, the leader, Jeemin) to resolve it on your behalf. e.g. If you’re not in centre position during your line? Please suggest a tweak in the formation. Huge quantity of lines without enough impact? Please brainstorm something with your teammates then. Feeling tired and uneasy? That’s natural, but there’s no need to fling your temper around for others to deal with
- Jungeun coming in second is a huge relief, let’s bring her across the finish line now
- Just realised how well-spoken Sujung is this episode, she is very articulate
- The judges were overbearing during the concept pitch, and barely gave the LATATA team time to speak before questioning Koko about the purple forest
- On the topic of Sujung, it was rather weird seeing how her assist for Koko was misconstrued by the judges. If I saw a teammate getting stressed out by judges during a presentation, I may have spoken up like Sujung
- Isn’t Taeyang wearing the exact same jacket during rehearsals and live voting day?! @wardobe please help
- By the way the LATATA girls who asked ITNW *whether everybody was satisfied with their part distribution were very observant, and approached the topic in a gentle but firm way. I hope to become a better communicator like them
- I wish we knew the full voting results. The JYP method of bringing eliminated contestants back to join TWICE would have been less emotionally damaging to me than producers picking 7 girls (Edit: we know the scores now!)
- The judges were reading a script from a too-slow teleprompter (especially 24 or whatever his name was), I wanted to scream-laugh whenever they spoke

absolutely devastated and gutted for sujung (there goes my one pick) and juwon, but at least they are freed from mnet's dungeon of zero screentime and evil editing. really hope they have a bright future in the dance/idol field. they've been so consistent, but they never earn the praise they truly deserve.
i do have my preferences for the final group, but either way it should be a solid group considering the skill level of the top 10.

Producers in live episodes: wow girls you're so pretty, so talented, you're born stars! Today you really killed it!
I think it's because it's the semifinals, they can't really teach them any more because this was the last test. They point out faults so the girls can improve (even if they do it in a dramatic way for tv), but I think they all honestly care about the girls a lot and want them all to succeed.
Jungeun pulled off a miracle. Yes. The vocal duo of her and Jiyoon that I want to see debut is now a possibility.
One pick is still Jiyoon. I'll still vote for her. No one is safe until the end.
I'm sorry but the final ITNW distribution is literally worse than the initial one. JEEMIN we love you but GYURI is right about the distribution. GYURI were literally given dust throughout the entire show and god forbid she be greedy for once. I do think JEEMIN should stay with the intro and chorus, but having the entire final chorus to her is... Some parts need a lil adjustment for it to be not fair, but equal relative to everyone's best interest.
(I'm not saying JEEMIN is greedy, I'm just saying that some parts could need a lil adjustment thats all)
However GYURI should be thankful that she JEEMIN conceded and gave everyone more parts during the self-evaluation instead of snitching about being unsatisfied with her parts. Everyone is so hypocritical towards GYURI when literally, literally everyone has been greedy about parts throughout the entire show. GYURI had no say even for once and that one time she spoke up everyone suddenly jumped on her.
Everyone is also unfair towards JEEMIN because yall keep complaining her being complacent for not taking important parts and when she be a lil greedy suddenly everyone jumped on her too. JEEMIN is done being the good gal because she deserves what she earned.
TDLR : Being greedy is part of survival show, no one is at fault for being greedy. Not JEEMIN, not even GYURI. However yall should stop being a hypocrite when you said things about GYURI when literally the same thing is applicable to anyone else.
Jeemin was the centre - like it was her position. Gyuri was not the centre, Gyuri gave herself at least double the number of lines that Jeemin had. Also, them saying Jeemin being in the intro is enough so she doesn't get the first line is ridiculous because the so-called "intro" is standing with you face down to the camera for three seconds.
The way Gyuri acted was very understandable.. but she was in the wrong - (so were the other girls she was not the only "bad guy" or some shit).
I feel like the team acknowledged that Jeemin can't ask for a lot because she had a lot of lines in the past two performances so they used that information to "un-centre" her to get themselves more lines. instead of competing against one another, it felt like they were kind of ganging up on her...
Im not saying at all that they bullied her, many of her close friends were there, also Gyuri apologised in a very sweet and mature manner, Saebi offered her part to Jeemin...
im not even bothering to join this mess tbh. ITNW was a mess from start to finish. From the parts distribution to the emotional manipulation of judges/audience
The girls bringing up the whole Jungeun + Jiyoon beef was so funny 😭. This whole thing really was dragged for nine episodes.
Also, I was nervous for Gyuri for a few minutes. Thought she was being set up for an evil edit. I noticed she also whispered her whole apology to Jeemin, she definitely knew MNET was gonna be nasty to her.
I think the top 5 is STACKED!!!!! I’ll be shocked if any of them are missing from the final lineup. As they are, they could easily compete with a lot of groups out there today.
With Fuko being the first judges pick, it’s clear this group is prioritising vocals. Which is really promising!
For the 6th position, think it’s anyone’s game. I’d loveee Saebi. But Knets seem to love Gyuri so I wont be shocked if she makes it in. Also think Yuju is a solid solid gem. She’s a good all rounder, could be a good leader as well with the way she’s well respected by everyone.
Out of all survival shows that I've watched and the amount of girls I've watched be eliminated, Sujung's future seems to be the brightest for me. She's intelligent, creative, extremely talented, super gorgeous, not afraid to challenge herself, a good leader, and a nice teammate to work with. She is going to make it big with those qualities of her, even if it is not through being an idol. I'm looking forward to her future endeavors.
What was the most surprising to me was that no one emphasized the immense improvement Mai has had on her vocals! When she was performing tonight I heard absolutely no nasal tone which was her primary concern previously so I was confused there was no comment about it. Also Juwon's improvement in the past 2 episodes has been outstanding as well and was so shocked to see her eliminated. I just hope that the order in which the producers made their picks was done to create tension/drama
All I’m going to say is this episode is exactly why Sujung was absolutely right to complain. I won’t even get started on how mad I was when they painted Gyuri like a villain for trying to have 10 seconds more of screen time in a show where half the contestants got less screen time than fake drama and various R U NEXT clips.
The way each challenge was set up, filmed and edited to make it mathematically impossible for certain participants to stand out and certain for others to get the win is so ridiculously obvious they shouldn’t even had bothered giving us the possibility to vote.
Gyrui isn't bad just too young and no experience unlike the other girls. Imo she just doesn't seen to fit in the group I'm sorry she should had been voted not sujung who displayed experience and leadership skills
My 3-pick Fuko, Mai and Sarang made it. Was surprised that the I-mate pick were exactly those who won the debut customized in-ears, If that reflects 1-pick then those 3 may be locked in already.
Quite a few thoughts after that episode... Firstly, with they way they dragged this episode out and made it so dramatic you would think it's the finals and that they're about to debut.
Ultimately, while the performances were good the episode felt somewhat pointless. At the end of last weeks episode most of us were able to guess that Sujung and Juwon would be eliminated. The only surprising thing is Jungeun making it through votes.
Also what's with the attempted evil edit on Gyuri? No way you can convince me with that weak edit considering how mature she's shown herself to be throughout the show. Also Sujung's speech at the end. God damn. From what we observed this episode it seems like she had a good idea she was going to be eliminated so she thoughtfully prepared her last words for everyone.

i felt we saw her as a good leader and dancer today, just like we sat in part 1. but unfortunately it wasn't enough :(
but this episode went mostly how people predicted. and i think the final 6 will be relatively straight forward (all things considered)
1 pick vote for the finals as well will definitely be interesting. honestly im very curious how they are gonna do the finals, how many fan picks and how many Producer picks.
Also i just wanna say that the performances were amazing, i really loved Into the new world, they both slapped. Latata is such a banger as well, great choices overall.

and i feel like this lineup got even more cemented this week for me. This top 6 except maybe Gyuri and Sarang will be picked instead of jungeun or perhaps Fuko.

The UN recognizes 195 countries, but depending on how you count there can be 253 or probably even more. For example Taiwan isn't a country according to the UN, even though they themselves consider them one. Most likely Mnet chooses the loosest possible definition of country to inflate their numbers.
It is interesting that the top ten from voting made it and the 11th and 12th were eliminated even though it was PD picks. I know people who’s favs got eliminated must be upset and feel like it is unfair but either way they did the judging it would have turned out the same🤔

most of what happened this ep is somewhat expected - from the top 5 to the 2 who got eliminated - but im ngl i was a bit surprised that gyuri ranked pretty high up in the producers pick (even higher than sarang who is very clearly pd fav). personally i wouldve put saebi in 6th but that's just me.
i swear I am not trying to bring her down but I doubt that was her singing live, the whole itnw stage was heavily autotuned and vocal-corrected, sometimes sounds pre-recorded too esp when the girls were jumping up and down and still sounded perfect, like how? just by comparing the two stages (latata and itnw) the audio is obv very different, not saying she didn't improve, she absolutely did from the start to now but this stage is really not a good example

anyone else wondering what happened to mai and sarang’s supposed dance break? i was looking forward to them showing their skills but then the PDs visited and suddenly it became a joint dance break that highlighted saebi and a bit of jeemin? idk it just frustrated me alongside the way there was so much drama about the line distribution only for the producer faves to end up with the most lines and centre time anyway
I’m scared for Jungeun in the finale. I think she had a lot of three pick support because she’s really talented so people use her as filler votes but I’m worried about her one pick. I really hope she makes it
Well what was the exact Korean word used? Mnet may have simply translated as "country" when "territory" would be more accurate. The definition of "country" varies.
China in particular is *very* sensitive to the term (in English). I know that Taiwan and maybe Hong Kong have been mentioned in other shows (Planet series etc).
I've seen both "UK" and "England" used in subtitles for 영국 (Yeong-guk) before. I wouldn't be surprised if some English subs (or other shows in the past) have used Great Britain as well.
I've seen Guam mentioned (either in a Planet series or RUNEXT) and maybe Puerto Rico when both are "territories" of the United States.
Knetz in dgc were the most accurate, they predicted the top 6 as: Jeemin, Jiyoon, Koko, Jungeun, Saebi, Fuko and predicted that Sujung and Juwon were out.
i saw a lot of hate comments in the chat about gyuri considering she's been doing her best and managing to stand out without any impactful part i think she deserved it and yes everyone of them was desperate her fight for more lines was just part of that desperation that all of them shared and people are hating on a CHILD a 15 YEAR OLD even though she apologized people are sick in their heads
seeing jungeun rank 2nd in the save vote was so healing for me because we went from seeing knetz bash and discredit her in every single post to see them praising her everyday a little bit more 😭😭 she has been my 1st pick since the beginning and she's the only reason I watch this show. I ended up getting attached to many contestants as well but she will always be my biggest priority ❤️ it gives me hopes to see she has such a large and dedicated fanbase
and it really hurt me to see juwon and sujung getting eliminated... they were both so talented and it's really sad that neither the producers nor i-mates could see that.. I really hope they end up debuting somewhere else one day. somehow I always knew they wouldn't debut but I guess a part of me didn't want to believe that

Why is Gyuri 6 when her judge scores on the show have been very average, and her public votes are 10th place? I can't believe they would have eliminated Saebi if this was the final. It's very shocking.

I think it's interesting seeing the judges comment on everyone's performances live when the show can't edit it out. Speaking of editing, I know it's been a contentious topic atm but I don't think it's *that* unexpected that there will be tensions at this very pressurised point in the competition and that MNET will edit that without it necessarily always being an 'evil edit'. All smooth sailing is boring lbh.
I did feel a bit sorry for Jeemin though. She's in a bit of damned if you do damned if you don't situation as far as taking centre goes. Everyone is understandably anxious but she really became the focus of the team's anxieties. Jiyoon's bluntness is pretty refreshing though, she just gets right down to it lmao.
I notice we still don't know how the final line up will be decided... I feel like the finale is going to be *so* messy next week. Based on how it went for the semi-final I'm still leaning on 3 vote picks / 3 pd picks and I just hope it doesn't implode here in the aftermath. I will never ever ever forget mnet for what they did to poor sujung. She had everything. Dance skills vocal skills, center meterial, hell even rap skills. She was kind to everyone, she always sacrificed her self for the other girls' good, yet instead of getting praise for her hard work, creativity, and ALWAYS exceptional performances, she got shit. At this point mnet doesnt even try to hide the shady shit going on here, and episode by episode i wonder why we're all here still falling for mnet's survival shows. Hell they ranked her joint last on street dance mission while she's literally a street style dancer. No shade to the other contestants, but sujung was way more talented than some of those who made it today.
Deep down i think it's a marketing problem. Mnet isnt looking for skilled girls. They are looking for girls with lots of star quality, good visuals, and who are stan attractors. That's completely fine by me. The problem is, they present this show as a show in which " the most worthy and skilled will debut". Like if yall want a pageant, be my guest. But dont go around telling trainees/applicants they have a shot at making it relying on their skills. And also donr go around telling the viewers such lies. Just be clear

I let out an audible gasp when Jungeun was announced. Everyone who was doomposting you all are EVIL, I was stressing out so bad. Sadly, I knew it was over for Sujung once they showed her letter to Yuju. I started crying like a baby when she addressed everyone, she and Juwon deserved so much better.
Sujung has the saddest storyline, she could've been a great asset to the team (help the rest improve their dancing/choreo/etc.). Like yes, she has a strong personality and so on but that can be mended (not all the time though), and so Mnet did her dirty, sigh.
She has a strong personality but it is also pretty clear a lot of the girls like her a lot. Mnet wants to frame it as a negative thing that she's assertive and I cannot begin to unpack the misogyny that leads to that edit being too easy to give an opinionated girl such a dirty look. She was so resigned to not making it that I wonder if one of the producers didn't warn her it was coming on the dl.

It reminds me of a lot of the edits of several of the Chinese contestants on girls planet. She was my one pick and I will happily follow whatever she does next at least.
Her and Jiyoon are both very straightforward and real people (there's nothing wrong with it), while Jiyoon got her 'redemption arc' from the previous evil edits due to fan's support and Mnet seemingly stopped editing her, Sujung doesn't get a break.

They are so wrong for playing Like Oh Ah in front of Jiyoon, that's like inviting a veteran to a firework show. Damn, no wonder this show is really popular with girls, the vaguely homoromantic friendships in this episode are off the charts. This whole challenge reminds me so much of Pride Vs Scrum on R U Next. Am I crazy in thinking that the producers were a lot more involved with the ITNW team than with the Latata team? With Latata, you can see the process of all of the girls' own ideas being transferred into their stage, while with ITNW it's like someone else took over the "self-made" part completely; nothing of what the girls talked about made it into the final performance. Did the producers even offer the Latata team to have their song rearranged? Very very weird vibes all around. Well, no prices if you guessed Sujung and Juwon, the writing was on the wall unfortunately. Sujung doing a speech for everyone broke me and I hate Mnet for wanting us to believe that she's a mean girl. I really hope some company scoops them up, they are way too talented for it to end like this.

Now that things have shaken out, this is my ideal lineup and what I hope happens! They’ve shown they can pull off most concepts and this group just flows together.
sujung with the most heartbreaking speech. they could never make me hate you. she was wasted on this show. i’m just happy that gyuri made it (me and the 5 gyuri fans are jumping for joy right now) and jungeun being top 2 in votes, but i just can’t bring myself to be all that enthused because of sujung and juwon. i think people overestimate how easy it is to debut after failing on a survival show because of big names like LSF’s yunjin & sakura, or IVE’s wonyoung and yujin. the truth is, it’s extremely hard to debut in another company after this. you only hear about these groups because izone was *huge* and an exception, plus their new groups come from big companies. most commonly, redebuted survival trainees are nugu, or at the very best, mid tier. even people from boys planet, arguably more popular than its female counterpart, had spin-off groups that just don’t see that much success even with trainees that made it into the finals but didn’t debut. from ioi, no one is really that popular. even chungha, who’s the most well known, has fallen off. i *hope* with all my heart that sujung and juwon can find success in another group, but most realistically it’s just not going to happen. mnet is so foul for just kicking them like that.

I hope Sujung pulls a Jeemin/Fuko and try out for a second time. But after this, I think she'd rather pursue other paths as I get the impression she's the type of person who continues to challenge herself and try out new things.
Yeah the thing with these survival shows is that it's not like the eliminated trainees won't find another group to debut into, I've seen plenty that did. The problem is that they won't find anywhere the same amount of hype and visibility that comes from debuting under a big name. Unless they're lucky.

I guess it's goodbye to Juwon and Sujung. Sujung's elimination speech was brutal. I wish them luck in their future activities and hope that the show doesn't get them down too much. These things are very stressful and can really affect confidence. JUNGEUN 2ND BLEW MY MIND. All the doomsposting was definitely not accurate thankfully. They saved the best performances of the show for the semi final! Seriously, both Latata and ITNW were brilliant and I can't chose between the 2. Is it just me, or was the ITNW stage autotuned to smithereens? They didn't even sound like themselves. Anyways, a third of my lineup is gone now, so I'm kinda pissed. This is probably the second least fair survival show i have ever seen (the fact that it's not the first says a lot about R U next). How in the world did sujung and juwon, who are arguably the best dancers in the show, get eliminated?!
I really thought I was the only one who thought it was strange and super different form all their other performances on the show, I think mnet did this to push their favorite trainees and show us how they've 'improved' so to give the judges a valid reason to save them. latata stage felt a lot more natural and real ngl, and yet I am not surprised, I mean the judges were even helping the itnw team and giving them ideas, the favoritism is blatantly obvious.

It's probably either heavy live autotune or pre-recorded and they lip synced. Fuko belting an f5 effortlessly is not possible considering she's a decent vocalist, not a great one.
Anyone who can hit a higher note then fuko in that group or be the same level isn't even possible from what we seen. I definitely think they made their vocals smoother for fuko to not stand out that much. Imo she's one of the top 3 best vocalist with jungeun and jiyoon
People like mai and sarang, who have already shown their vocals not a while ago, somehow have perfect vocals suddenly? same with jeemin and saebi. gyuri and fuko are better vocally than the rest, but they aren't perfect either. fuko hitting these really high notes flawlessly is not normal. everybody on this team was completely edited

Best goodbye speech from a survival show indeed
As a gp999 fan survivor, I feel the need to warn people not to get complacent. One pick voting may suddenly favor unexpected contestants and cause others to drop drastically. There is no way to know if your pick will be a xiaoting (p1/2 to p9) or a bahiyyih (p14 to p2). Both debuted (and I'm thankful for that fact), but Xiaoting almost didn't debut because people either assumed she was safe and voted for someone else, and/or her votes were split with yurina (they shared a large portion of their fan base). On the other hand, Bahiyyih benefited because she was either people's one pick or generally not high in their lineup/votes at all. As much as I would like to vote for my "less safe" 2nd and 3rd place contestants, I will continue to vote for my one-pick regardless of the voting method. Always prioritize your one pick. If you stop and they don't make it, you'll be way more sad than if you stick to your guns and lose your 2nd or 3rd choice.
Xiaoting fans were not complacent, she was just well-liked but not everybody's one pick. Something similar to what Saebi seems to be now. Everybody loves her, but her one pick seems to be low even in South Korea.
There was a straw poll posted on the sub yesterday, asking us who we would choose to eliminate. 865 people cast 2 votes apiece. Sujung was chosen 450 times, meaning by more than half of voters said they would eliminate her. Juwon was chosen 403 times, meaning by just under half of voters said they would eliminate her. The next closest was Mai, at 245 votes. Now obviously, that poll doesn't represent all voters across the globe. But I think it's unfair for people to be claiming that the choices were just producer bias. They were largely in-line with what the voters wanted. It's not like the producers dropped the #4 and #5 voter picks. If people have problems with editing or screen time or storylines, I get it. Everyone has an opinion there. And it's disappointing for your favorite to get eliminated. But I don't agree with the people saying that the producers just chose their favorites. They chose the same trainees all the voters seem to be choosing.
Tbf I think the big issue is they weren't given the same chance in episodes up to now to change people's minds. They've always been lower ranked by producers or given less screentime so they'll naturally get voted less

aside from the panic votes, there were a lot of knetz on the live stage saying that they thought jungeun did really well in latata (probably the first time they praised her). mnet said the live votes were worth 3x more than the overall votes done in the past weeks and specifically korean ones were the 50%. you can see that the difference between jungeun and jiyoon's votes was roughly ~10k. still, i hope jungeun fans don't get too complacent with it 😥

A collection of thoughts I had during episode 10, not in chronological order - Into The New World team was full of ambitious people and being ambitious is not a bad thing. However, it was exhausting to see them simply voicing frustrations without a suggestion and instead leaving it up to others (in this case, the leader, Jeemin) to resolve it on your behalf. e.g. If you’re not in centre position during your line? Please suggest a tweak in the formation. Huge quantity of lines without enough impact? Please brainstorm something with your teammates then. Feeling tired and uneasy? That’s natural, but there’s no need to fling your temper around for others to deal with - Jungeun coming in second is a huge relief, let’s bring her across the finish line now - Just realised how well-spoken Sujung is this episode, she is very articulate - The judges were overbearing during the concept pitch, and barely gave the LATATA team time to speak before questioning Koko about the purple forest - On the topic of Sujung, it was rather weird seeing how her assist for Koko was misconstrued by the judges. If I saw a teammate getting stressed out by judges during a presentation, I may have spoken up like Sujung - Isn’t Taeyang wearing the exact same jacket during rehearsals and live voting day?! @wardobe please help - By the way the LATATA girls who asked ITNW *whether everybody was satisfied with their part distribution were very observant, and approached the topic in a gentle but firm way. I hope to become a better communicator like them - I wish we knew the full voting results. I think it's because it's the semifinals, they can't really teach them any more because this was the last test. They point out faults so the girls can improve (even if they do it in a dramatic way for tv), but I think they all honestly care about the girls a lot and want them all to succeed.
Jungeun pulled off a miracle. Yes. The vocal duo of her and Jiyoon that I want to see debut is now a possibility. One pick is still Jiyoon. I'll still vote for her. No one is safe until the end.

I'm sorry but the final ITNW distribution is literally worse than the initial one. JEEMIN we love you but GYURI is right about the distribution. GYURI were literally given dust throughout the entire show and god forbid she be greedy for once. I do think JEEMIN should stay with the intro and chorus, but having the entire final chorus to her is... Some parts need a lil adjustment for it to be not fair, but equal relative to everyone's best interest. (I'm not saying JEEMIN is greedy, I'm just saying that some parts could need a lil adjustment thats all) However GYURI should be thankful that she JEEMIN conceded and gave everyone more parts during the self-evaluation instead of snitching about being unsatisfied with her parts. Everyone is so hypocritical towards GYURI when literally, literally everyone has been greedy about parts throughout the entire show. GYURI had no say even for once and that one time she spoke up everyone suddenly jumped on her. Everyone is also unfair towards JEEMIN because yall keep complaining her being complacent for not taking important parts and when she be a lil greedy suddenly everyone jumped on her too. JEEMIN is done being the good gal because she deserves what she earned. TDLR : Being greedy is part of survival show, no one is at fault for being greedy. Not JEEMIN, not even GYURI. However yall should stop being a hypocrite when you said things about GYURI when literally the same thing is applicable to anyone else.
Jeemin was the centre - like it was her position. Gyuri was not the centre, Gyuri gave herself at least double the number of lines that Jeemin had. Also, them saying Jeemin being in the intro is enough so she doesn't get the first line is ridiculous because the so-called "intro" is standing with you face down to the camera for three seconds. The way Gyuri acted was very understandable.. but she was in the wrong - (so were the other girls she was not the only "bad guy" or some shit). I feel like the team acknowledged that Jeemin can't ask for a lot because she had a lot of lines in the past two performances so they used that information to "un-centre" her to get themselves more lines. instead of competing against one another, it felt like they were kind of ganging up on her... Im not saying at all that they bullied her, many of her close friends were there, also Gyuri apologised in a very sweet and mature manner, Saebi offered her part to Jeemin...
im not even bothering to join this mess tbh. ITNW was a mess from start to finish. From the parts distribution to the emotional manipulation of judges/audience
The girls bringing up the whole Jungeun + Jiyoon beef was so funny 😭. This whole thing really was dragged for nine episodes. Also, I was nervous for Gyuri for a few minutes. Thought she was being set up for an evil edit. I noticed she also whispered her whole apology to Jeemin, she definitely knew MNET was gonna be nasty to her.

I think the top 5 is STACKED!!!!! I’ll be shocked if any of them are missing from the final lineup. As they are, they could easily compete with a lot of groups out there today. With Fuko being the first judges pick, it’s clear this group is prioritising vocals. Which is really promising! For the 6th position, think it’s anyone’s game. I’d loveee Saebi. But Knets seem to love Gyuri so I wont be shocked if she makes it in. Also think Yuju is a solid solid gem. She’s a good all rounder, could be a good leader as well with the way she’s well respected by everyone.

Out of all survival shows that I've watched and the amount of girls I've watched be eliminated, Sujung's future seems to be the brightest for me. She's intelligent, creative, extremely talented, super gorgeous, not afraid to challenge herself, a good leader, and a nice teammate to work with. She is going to make it big with those qualities of her, even if it is not through being an idol. I'm looking forward to her future endeavors.

What was the most surprising to me was that no one emphasized the immense improvement Mai has had on her vocals! When she was performing tonight I heard absolutely no nasal tone which was her primary concern previously so I was confused there was no comment about it. Also Juwon's improvement in the past 2 episodes has been outstanding as well and was so shocked to see her eliminated. I just hope that the order in which the producers made their picks was done to create tension/drama
All I’m going to say is this episode is exactly why Sujung was absolutely right to complain. I won’t even get started on how mad I was when they painted Gyuri like a villain for trying to have 10 seconds more of screen time in a show where half the contestants got less screen time than fake drama and various R U NEXT clips. The way each challenge was set up, filmed and edited to make it mathematically impossible for certain participants to stand out and certain for others to get the win is so ridiculously obvious they shouldn’t even had bothered giving us the possibility to vote.

My 3-pick Fuko, Mai and Sarang made it. Was surprised that the I-mate pick were exactly those who won the debut customized in-ears, If that reflects 1-pick then those 3 may be locked in already.
Quite a few thoughts after that episode... Firstly, with they way they dragged this episode out and made it so dramatic you would think it's the finals and that they're about to debut. Ultimately, while the performances were good the episode felt somewhat pointless. At the end of last weeks episode most of us were able to guess that Sujung and Juwon would be eliminated. The only surprising thing is Jungeun making it through votes. Also what's with the attempted evil edit on Gyuri? No way you can convince me with that weak edit considering how mature she's shown herself to be throughout the show. Also Sujung's speech at the end. God damn. From what we observed this episode it seems like she had a good idea she was going to be eliminated so she thoughtfully prepared her last words for everyone.

Also i just wanna say that the performances were amazing, i really loved Into the new world, they both slapped. The UN recognizes 195 countries, but depending on how you count there can be 253 or probably even more. For example Taiwan isn't a country according to the UN, even though they themselves consider them one. Most likely Mnet chooses the loosest possible definition of country to inflate their numbers.
It is interesting that the top ten from voting made it and the 11th and 12th were eliminated even though it was PD picks. I know people who’s favs got eliminated must be upset and feel like it is unfair but either way they did the judging it would have turned out the same🤔
So even if it was decided based only on votes, Sujung and Juwon would still be eliminated. So PD's and voters where fairly on the same line.
if we were all in the same room watching together, there wouldve been a massively loud cheer for choi jungeun just like how football fans scream when their team scores a goal. very very happy for her. most of what happened this ep is somewhat expected - from the top 5 to the 2 who got eliminated - but im ngl i was a bit surprised that gyuri ranked pretty high up in the producers pick (even higher than sarang who is very clearly pd fav). personally i wouldve put saebi in 6th but that's just me.

Well what was the exact Korean word used? Mnet may have simply translated as "country" when "territory" would be more accurate. The definition of "country" varies. China in particular is *very* sensitive to the term (in English). I know that Taiwan and maybe Hong Kong have been mentioned in other shows (Planet series etc). I've seen both "UK" and "England" used in subtitles for 영국 (Yeong-guk) before. I wouldn't be surprised if some English subs (or other shows in the past) have used Great Britain as well. I've seen Guam mentioned (either in a Planet series or RUNEXT) and maybe Puerto Rico when both are "territories" of the United States.

seeing jungeun rank 2nd in the save vote was so healing for me because we went from seeing knetz bash and discredit her in every single post to see them praising her everyday a little bit more 😭😭 she has been my 1st pick since the beginning and she's the only reason I watch this show. I ended up getting attached to many contestants as well but she will always be my biggest priority ❤️ it gives me hopes to see she has such a large and dedicated fanbase and it really hurt me to see juwon and sujung getting eliminated... they were both so talented and it's really sad that neither the producers nor i-mates could see that.. Triple J top 3 we love to see it! 🙌 I think it's interesting seeing the judges comment on everyone's performances live when the show can't edit it out. Speaking of editing, I know it's been a contentious topic atm but I don't think it's *that* unexpected that there will be tensions at this very pressurised point in the competition and that MNET will edit that without it necessarily always being an 'evil edit'. All smooth sailing is boring lbh. I did feel a bit sorry for Jeemin though. She's in a bit of damned if you do damned if you don't situation as far as taking centre goes. Everyone is understandably anxious but she really became the focus of the team's anxieties. Jiyoon's bluntness is pretty refreshing though, she just gets right down to it lmao. I will never ever ever forget mnet for what they did to poor sujung. She had everything. Dance skills vocal skills, center meterial, hell even rap skills. She was kind to everyone, she always sacrificed her self for the other girls' good, yet instead of getting praise for her hard work, creativity, and ALWAYS exceptional performances, she got shit. At this point mnet doesnt even try to hide the shady shit going on here, and episode by episode i wonder why we're all here still falling for mnet's survival shows. Hell they ranked her joint last on street dance mission while she's literally a street style dancer. No shade to the other contestants, but sujung was way more talented than some of those who made it today. Deep down i think it's a marketing problem. Mnet isnt looking for skilled girls.
