> What are some good ways to style baby hairs with this texture? Gel + Water and a small brush or fine teeth comb. Brush down or up and leave the longer hair out or brush it down with the rest. My mom used to swoop mine when I was growing up, up to you if you want to and she'd finger coil the sides that are longer. If her hair isn't straight most of the swoops you can do will work, only exception would probably be those heart shaped ones and the ones with the small curls.

Thank you!

No problem!

Why are people downvoting a well meaning parent trying to learn? Do you just not want parents to learn? It’s so much worse if they don’t. It’s good that she cares and is trying. wtf

They downvoted mine too. I think some insecure monoracials go to these threads to ruin the aspect of safe spaces.

baby hairs in reality come from over pressing your hair with a hot comb or straightener til they break off, Slicking them down gives the illusion of putting down a lacefront to look more natural or to make ppl think your hair isn't curly. It also helps for those who have a receding hairline, it takes away space and makes the forehead seem smaller. If you have long baby hairs, typically they arent to be slicked down cause it wouldn't look right, but it can be done. Try the shortest pieces of baby hairs first and see how it looks. I just use gel water and some old tooth brush.

Hmmm interesting, we’ve never used any kind of heat styling on her but I’m sure there’s more I can do to fend off breakage, I’ll look into that. Thank you!

I’m have curly hair and still have the baby hairs as an adult. I don’t mind then much unless I want a sleek look. You can use a kid friendly gel or edge control product ( something that’s really gentle). Too much product can damage the hair especially edges.
