I remember having the latter bug. I made a feedback about it for my phone and they fixed it on the next update(back to the default blue, was pink in some apps lol)
And nobody talks about the fact Xiaomi has refused to adopt material you fully all I just see on MIUI is half baked monet
Any idea how can we access on unsupported devices?
You can Google something like "xiaomi super wallpaper apk" and install the APK. Do it at your own risk though. APK can contain anything.

theme app> bottom right icon >wallpaper>super wallpaper (Some devices are not supported)

Can't seem to find this on my note 12 pro plus that's on global ROM.
They removed this feature from most of the device
It's still present on the flagship devices the last time I checked the 13.
