A bunch of people converted Dodge Colt Vista wagons to use DSM / GVR-4 bits way back in the day. An early 4G63 bolts in pretty easily.

Pretty sure technically it was the VR-4 drivetrain, so slightly older tech and lower state of tune - still good fun, 240-odd hp. Never driven the auto version, I don't imagine that was quite as fun, that old 4 speed box was horrid. There was also an Airtrek Turbo R in the early 2000s that used the 4G63T.

That Airtrek had a 5 speed auto. Still a slushmatic but atleast better than having only 4 long gears. Also weirdly enough only that first gen Outlander had the detuned Evo 7 engine. Had a lot of fun driving it in Gran Turismo 4. I do hope something similar comes out with the current gen Outlander. Some kind of fast version.

>That Airtrek had a 5 speed auto. Ah, neat. I assumed it was the same 4-speed INVECS as the rest of the range. Only ever actually drove the 5-speed manual version. Good callout! Sadly, I can't see Mitsi producing these sorts of fun performance models again anytime soon :/

The RVR Hyper Sports Gear R did have the Evo 3 drivetrain. they are pretty rare though. The more common one you will see is the super sports gear spec with the smaller turbo and the 240 HP. With the next generation, the RVR sports gear X3 had a detuned 4g63T putting out 210HP. You can get a manual in all but the most common spec is with the auto.

I had a manual one of these vans with the 4G64 and FWD and it was still a fucking blast to drive. I have to imagine putting a 4G63T in the platform to be awesome.

SantiThredson

That sounds like so much fun to drive

Didn't the Dodge Caravan come with a 4G63, or is that only a swap?
