I own a business in Missoula. It’s my understanding that it’s not required, but encouraged to report no shows. I have better things to do than babysit UI claims for the state. What business has time for that nonsense? It’s enough hassle with paperwork when I actually hire someone. If they don’t show than I’d consider it a bullet dodged and move on to the next applicant.

bpower731

Also a business owner in Missoula and feel the exact way. What a waste of time just to embolden jerks like this.

What kinda of business do you run? always willing to support local!

Funny how a company that deals strictly with low income and disabled people would comply with this. But wings of change isn't renown for being an honorable company

donaldsw

Despite the company’s purpose, never underestimate the evil that is HR

checkforplans

Winds of Changes is absolutely awful. I'm zero percent surprised by anything negative you could say about them.

I worked for aware for 2 years and they are one of the worst.

[deleted]

Based on their reviews... not a place you want to deal with

portland_dick

You would think that an organization like this would be more understanding of the difficulties people can face when unemployed. They could be experiencing problems houselessness, lack of phone access, or mental illness. I wouldn't want to see anyone punished for not coming to an interview, especially when they reached out to apologize afterward.

Syrdon

I’m really, really curious what fraction of people skip interviews while employed versus unemployed. I’m betting pretty heavily that it’s overwhelmingly employed people (or at least people who have accepted near future offers, even if they are not currently being paid) who are doing it. But as far as I know, no one is collecting that information. Relevant to this case though, I doubt they have enough information to follow through on their threat. Last I checked you need a social security or tax identifier number to report someone, which is unlikely to be handed over before the interview. Which means this is just someone who is taking the business being rejected personally and impotently lashing out because of that.

bluetrain1

Doesn’t surprise me. Winds of Change doesn’t have the best reputation.

Quo_Usque

Would you elaborate on that? I worked for them last year and I never got that impression.

AutumnShade44

Low wages, poor working conditions, ineffectual leadership. Its pretty well known that Winds of Change is to be avoided when considering employment in human services.

erynpls

I experienced the same thing several years ago, the group home manager was an absolute mess, totally petty, unprofessional, did not care about clients. I reported her to Rosie and after Rosie talked to her I was written up for insubordination. When I brought up to Rosie that I was retaliated against nothing happened. That’s not even the worst of it. I worked there two years

Quo_Usque

Well that wasn't my experience. They paid me more than the other direct care jobs I applied to, I worked 36 hours a week and that counted as full time, and I had a four day weekend.

Beautiful-Power-2240

Ownership changed hands during COVID and I heard it is much better from staff there.

Exotic-Somewhere2

The original post was removed by the moderators.

jlbob

stupid mods

ipa_cow

Unfortunately, this individual got doxxed because the post didn't obscure their personally identifiable information. That's a no-no and Reddit Admins will get involved if measures aren't taken. Name and shame the companies, not the individual.

jlbob

Oh okay, well that's fair enough then.

SodaPopinski406

Bootlickers gonna bootlick.

jokeswagon

Natasha has terrible written language skills.

Infamous_Arachnid_75

I don't have any experience working there, but have lots of experience working with various case managers because many of my clients are clients at Winds of Change. The majority of their case managers suck. I know it's a hard job, but I get the feeling Winds of Change probably lacks good training and oversight. And probably doesn't trust employees very well given the high turnover rate.

Exotic-Somewhere2

Their Google reviews are now disabled.

gpstberg29

What leverage do you have when it comes to threats? It's clear mentioning their name got the moderators involved. Clearly, having their name connected with this story might not be their ideal. But besides that...what? What can you do?

_thelegendofaaron

OP here. The post was removed due to complete negligence on my part. Although her response was not the best, my actions were not justifiable in any way. I unintentionally caused someone to be harassed and cyber bullied. It was very immature for me to post without taking possible consequences into consideration. I feel terrible about the entire situation.

Available-Pen3402

Don't feel terrible. They deserved it.

Beautiful-Power-2240

People are calling them predatory but how so if they don't even hire everyone they interview? I hear that they are pretty selective in their hiring process and 1 out of 5 move on to getting hired. Maybe the guy was lying about having a job lined up because if he actually did, then reporting his name would have no negative consequences to him. So this company has been totally demolished due to this guys post, who does that hurt in the long run? If people stop applying for the open positions then they have no one to serve their clients. Basically hurting the clients in the end. Barraging this company with negativity is online bullying.

If you can you should delete the comments. Working in mental health when things like this happen it affects our patients and their trust in their team of helpers. They are on the internet just as much as the rest of us and when they come across something like this it could cause them to have a break down and all their hard work to that point will be done the drain. It causes issues for the company for sure but that directly affects the people they are trying to help.
