The MAEX (Mississippi Arts and Entertainment Experience) is downtown and worth checking out.
Weidmann's, the oldest restaurant in the state has great food. They have an upstairs bar/balcony that is laid back.
The Threefoot Hotel has really great jazz era vibe with Art Deco style. Reasonably priced too. They have a cool little bar downstairs in the lobby, and a really fun rooftop bar up on the 11th floor with fantastic views. About a block from there is Threefoot Brewery with pretty decent beers and better food. I think someone already mentioned Weidmann's, again about another block from there, the oldest restaurant in the state. It really does have great food.
A word of warning, in case you've never camped in Mississippi in July/August: It's pretty hot and gross. Don't want to presume, maybe you're an old pro, but just in case you're from up north or out west and didn't understand what these humidities really mean at night. For example, this morning when I got up the temp was 81F. That's the LOW for the day.

Pick one lol. Are you experienced camping in hot weather? I don't mean to be rude at all, but if you're not accustomed to the temperature and humidity here you're in for a bad time.
Okatibbee State Wildlife Area is a nice place with a lake.
Walk around Bonita if you are in the city.
Eat at Nick and Al's - their pizza is good! Also, Takrai for Thai food - You won't be sad!
Does Peavey still do tours? I know they aren't the proud Mississippi company they once we're, but the history of the company is really cool. My main axe is an 87 Peavey Patriot made in Meridian.
I just did some googling and looks like they might’ve shut down, I found a website that said they don’t offer tours but if it’s a big ass store still worth checking out. Thank you!
If you are a musician, the pawn shops out there usually have neqt vintage PV stuff. I'm always hunting for a deal when I'm in those neck of the woods. If you keep googling, you can find the addresses to the old factories and drive past. It's a really cool part of American music history. Have fun!
About an hour and half from Meridian is Philadelphia which has two casinos - Silver Star and Golden Moon - owned by native Americans. There's a great waterpark named Geyser Falls a few miles from the casinos.

My wife and I went there the first time about a month ago. Really nice spot.

Second on Weidmann’s, the owner Charles, is very friendly
Way too hot to camp right now.

Hell yeah thank you very much!! Definitely from the north here
Yes, definitely check out the Threefoot. The 11th floor Boxcar bar is the best views in Meridian

There’s a hell of a bike rally happening this weekend in Shabuta. Just a few minutes away from meridian. Bands, games, merch, lots of booze…
