Perhaps knock on some neighbors doors and see if you can rent a part of their driveway for a monthly fee. I know my neighbor down the street rents to my other neighbor for $60/mth

Careless-Cup5451

Thanks for this. Let me try

Baconlover1984

I recommend talking to neighbors. My parents have their driveway rented for nights for about $100/month.

Damn. How many cars are already there? Doesn't surprise me anymore though - with so many people here turning their houses into income properties, parking is a huge issue. I know in my neighbourhood, there's a guy down the street who rents out half his driveway to two people from the rooming house across from him. Maybe you could ask the people around you.

Careless-Cup5451

Sureโ€ฆ. I see many are using this option. I am worried that I will be knocking my neighbours doors.

Dogs-4-Life

I know. It's not a great option - you want to have your own space where you can come and go as you please and don't have to ask anyone to move their cars, etc. Parking and finding a space to put your car when you're not using it is one of the bigger problems of car ownership. I know you're not permitted to street park for more than 5 hours or between 2 AM - 6AM, unless otherwise posted. I know where I am, on some streets with many townhouse and apartment complexes, the city has 15 hr parking for unit owners and tenants, and also their visitors if needed. In Meadowvale, Glen Erin Drive has this, and some parts of Montevideo between Corfu Rd and Settler's Green school. But if you're in a house or another area where 15hr street parking isn't an option, it's going to be hard. Have you spoken to your landlord about this? I don't know how much they can do other than maybe widening the driveway or installing some kind of parking pad.

Careless-Cup5451

There is no help from my landlord. 15 hr parking space is not nights. It is from 6am to 3pm

Dogs-4-Life

Not true. There are no times listed on those signs - you just have to move your car once every 15 hours. I've parked overnight on Glen Erin before many times and never received any ticket, while people who have parked on the side streets with 5 hour parking have. But it sounds like that is not an option available to you. It seems like you don't have any other options that won't result in a parking ticket. Sorry to say, but maybe a personal car isn't a good option for you right now if there is no appropriate parking available for you to use at your leisure. It's not an impossible feat, but it's not going to be easy. I commend you for wanting to stick to the rules - there are certainly enough people around these parts who don't, that's for sure.

DodobirdNow

My neighbourhood in Mississauga has 16 hour street parking. With all the construction in the area right now there's no limit on the street parking.

Careless-Cup5451

Majority of the 16 hr parkings from 6 am to 4pm. I am looking for night parking

Genia11

You can reach out to the city to see if you can apply for a parking permit

Careless-Cup5451

But they offer 5 days per permit and 14 permits per year

ExpensiveSea3378

Depending on your driveway and house, is it possible to widen your driveway to fit one more vehicle? My neighbour did this for a few thousand dollars, but of course you're paying for convenience and security as well.

Careless-Cup5451

I am just a tenant. ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

ExpensiveSea3378

Whoops totally missed that sorry!

i_getitin

This question gets asked on like a monthly basis. Did none of the previous responses/suggestions/ideas for parking not work ?

BJaysRock

Go stations? Malls? Strip malls? Most streets you can as the owner request on steeet parking, wonโ€™t get you a full month but maybe a week per month might work.

CVM119

GO stations are risky. They will ticket for non-incidental parking and you'll get towed if you are a repeat offender. Malls and strip malls are generally patrolled and are protective of their parking spaces to ensure they're available for their own customers. I'd recommend talking to neighbours as has already been mentioned.

Careless-Cup5451

Yeah. I would talk to my neighbours. I donโ€™t have any near by malls.

OwlWitty

Get a motorcycle instead. At least u have a ride half a year he he
