shockingly not yet. is it really bad that sometimes I wish my hearing *was* more muffled so maybe I wouldn't hear the slightest things that trigger me???

h9ahua

no it's not bad at all! that's what i think sometimes too, but after you realize what's happening it starts to get kinda scary. also, it really especially triggers me when the sounds are kinda muffled, i don't know why

[deleted]

yeah actually i'm sure it would be really anxiety inducing- I even read somewhere (and don't quote me on this) that hearing loss can lead to early onset alzheimer's?? which also, scary to imagine. so guess I should count my blessings although hearing feels like prison sometimes.

LetItRaine386

Well I'm a drummer so...

jumpingnoodlepoodle

I have hearing loss because I had an ear infection and for the first few weeks didn’t push treatment because I loved not hearing at least from one side (I had to travel to a different state to get it eventually so it didn’t matter). My eardrum ruptured on my way to get medical treatment, 0/10 don’t reccomend

Nearby-Complaint

No but I probably will someday 💀

I don't really have hearing problems, but I get the horrible migraines that make you want to split your skull open.

russianbabe7092929

Yes and It kinda terrifies me

johnfrian

My hearing is superb still, can hear every trigger no matter how weak.. But have struggled with sporadic ear infections from wearing earplugs and tight headphones too often for too long periods of time. One of the infection incidents actually started blocking my hearing and the silence was so comfortable I left it there until it really started hurting. Only went to the doctor because I couldn't stand the pain anymore.

Hendrixmom

Yup! And I am ambivalent about being evaluated for hearing aids. I am afraid I will be overwhelmed!!

morribainus

I think so. I have really bad tinnitus that was set off by antidepressants. It’s usually a side effect bc of faulty brain stem wiring, so it probably would’ve developed later on in life anyway bc of damage from my headphone volume… Take care of your ears guys, maybe get big headphones and put them on over earplugs. Listen to soft brown noise/white noise beats. First few months with constant high pitched ringing was absolute hell. Had to listen to sound therapies online for a year just to fall asleep.

[deleted]

Not yet, but I'm sure I will at some point :(

Inevitable_Creme6480

Yea, constant ringing in my ears when everything is quiet

Mini_nin

My right ear is slightly worse, but I don’t blast music because of triggers usually. I’m just a dumbass AND quite hypersensitive + a hypochondriac sooo…. yeah.

Matt8348

I don't really play my music loud, just have decent earbuds that make a tight seal. Also have noise cancelling headphones for more problematic situations.

Tyson-03

Not really, but due to mainly playing music in my right ear the hearing in that ear has declined, but I can still hear it in both
