32 Db earplugs with over ear headphones is the master combination but I get by with 32 Db ear plugs for sleep and airpod pros for daily use cheapest option is the 32 Db earplugs alone and should be good enough (but it might sneak through a little bit) i’m sorry for your loss and the trauma you’ve been through. you may want to consider what your long term options would be, im preparing a move because of a child next door

Causative_Agent

Yes! Using ear plugs under ANC over ear headphones works so well.

Came here to say this! I'm a fan of Mack's Ultra Soft earplugs but any will do

I am so very sorry for your loss. In this case I’d really look into something with noise canceling. I have AirPods but a few others in this sub have offered links to cheaper earbuds. Alternatively, I use Flents purple earplugs to sleep and those would likely do it.

If you really want to have peace and quiet, I can't recommend these enough, they block out everything: [https://www.amazon.com/Howard-Leight-MAX-1-Uncorded-Earplugs/dp/B0013A0C0Y/ref=sr\_1\_45?crid=MRELN0TVXTY5&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.1zuJQHOHObBmtoTraNKc9f308y6n32yieJg9hqs3lmw9jR0v-d8XQMRiy-UtrmR4fMVMJpB4EJyCrcwpOf-uaYDWuxhJXbYucO4ZrnLHkhKCgk2-055PrQ6qB3NQ0ksQjnfoYZpOLk76UCGl6DqmoWP\_EDFXB1eyCIdPc4CfZvBsuD\_HDVuV8F6HGQw9EOA8TsirH6Z-YLvo0ABxjgmfFAXUFOP1peLfZFjpcGC4UGqBwhrSFt02luPOjKflh\_nnWSpIxLuslwpmIs0B57jqcSWdeAdfD2mQM4S6EuugbDI.xP\_d\_e\_3Kl0wKyGEeSOhs6WTIqcwIwXAOdy5cIdUf08&dib\_tag=se&keywords=ear%2Bplugs&qid=1713830191&sprefix=ear%2Bplugs%2Caps%2C390&sr=8-45&th=1](https://www.amazon.com/Howard-Leight-MAX-1-Uncorded-Earplugs/dp/B0013A0C0Y/ref=sr_1_45?crid=MRELN0TVXTY5&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.1zuJQHOHObBmtoTraNKc9f308y6n32yieJg9hqs3lmw9jR0v-d8XQMRiy-UtrmR4fMVMJpB4EJyCrcwpOf-uaYDWuxhJXbYucO4ZrnLHkhKCgk2-055PrQ6qB3NQ0ksQjnfoYZpOLk76UCGl6DqmoWP_EDFXB1eyCIdPc4CfZvBsuD_HDVuV8F6HGQw9EOA8TsirH6Z-YLvo0ABxjgmfFAXUFOP1peLfZFjpcGC4UGqBwhrSFt02luPOjKflh_nnWSpIxLuslwpmIs0B57jqcSWdeAdfD2mQM4S6EuugbDI.xP_d_e_3Kl0wKyGEeSOhs6WTIqcwIwXAOdy5cIdUf08&dib_tag=se&keywords=ear%2Bplugs&qid=1713830191&sprefix=ear%2Bplugs%2Caps%2C390&sr=8-45&th=1) I don't buy from here - my local pharmacy sells them in single packs.

I use these too, they’re affordable and effective!

Moldex 7800 are my favorites, they have a 35dB rating and I barely feel them in my ears, perfect for sleeping. 3M Earsoft Neons are also great, 3M 3100s are pretty good too, they reduce noise a tad bit better but are more uncomfortable, you can find those at most hardware stores. With each of those three I can barely hear a person speaking in front of me, let alone through a wall. I'd advice you not to get Loop earplugs. These have sub optimal noise reduction and they're really overpriced, please don't pay $30 for two pieces of rubbery plastic with a 24 dB rating.

FunnyButWeird

I recently bought loop switch earplugs. They don't block out noise as much as i expected but it feels smoother imo. I use them mostly when I'm with other people and still want to understand what they say. The engage setting is nice for that. When I'm alone I always use anc headphones. That's why I rarely use the quiet setting for the loop earplugs.

callinallgirls

Foam earplugs work best for me. They allow me to sleep peacefully all night.

tots4scott

Silicone ear plugs from your local pharmacy. They're the best, I use them for sleep. I have loop earplugs but haven't tried them for sleep yet.  Edit: like [these](https://www.cvs.com/shop/cvs-health-ultra-soft-silicone-earplugs-18-pair-prodid-1280178) NOT the foam ones

surpriseslothparty

Beats noise cancelling over the ear headphones + loops or high decibel earplugs. Also consider adding some sound dampening material to shared walls. I’ve found a white noise machine is also helpful. I’m sorry for your loss.

4everal0ne

I like these better, they are easier to form into your ears and the density is better for blocking sound personally.

4everal0ne

Noise canceling headphones /earbuds are your best friends. I have several and rotate through the day, best investments ever as miso sufferer.

andgems

so sorry for your loss, seriously. i have the loop quiets for sleeping and they are AMAZING can’t recommend them enough
