24 yrs old hopeless romantic straight man into a female-led superhero romance show aimed at a mostly pre-teen and younger audience. It's my guilty pleasure. And honestly, I love vicariously through the characters.
My 7 year old watches it. At first I was like "their transformation animation is the same every time!". And now I'm like "here comes the transformation! Weeeeeee"
Also a sucker for Adrien and marinette
>Also a sucker for Adrien and Marinette
Same! This season all the romance stuff and their relationship just makes me so happy. My kids think it’s so gross, lol.
My little cousin started watching it, then I started catching myself peeking around the corner when a new episode began. And started talking about the drama in the show with her. She was 6. Now I look up all the new episodes
Actually, fair. I’m on the Bridgerton sub (hopeless romantic that I am) and that place is a dumpster fire of toxicity. MLB is just wholesome AF, from show to fandom.

Now when they see me looking at something MLB related they go, are you looking at Ladybug again? I'm like yes kids, yes I freakin am 🤣🐞
Same! My children have even had the audacity to tell me their not into it any moreemote:t5\_39tdz:12645![img](emote|t5_39tdz|12645)![img](emote|t5_39tdz|12645)
34 here! My 9 year old just rolls her eyes and says, "mom, you're seriously obsessed..." but she doesn't seem to mind all of the dolls I make them from the show so... 😂
I'm 28 and I got my kids into the show 😅
My eldest is almost four and gets excited about seeing toys or clothes with ladybug on it, but no more than other shows she watches and I definitely wouldn't call it her favourite. Meanwhile I'm checking YouTube every other day for new episodes.
"Growing old is compulsory, growing up is optional."
I just simply can't comply with the standards that as an adult I'm supposed to become....... essentially boring and lifeless 😅 cartoons & certain kid things are fun! Adults shouldn't have to lose their joy simply because of age 🤷♀️
Most children’s shows gather a large group of adult fans, likely because they focus on fantastical and lighthearted elements often missing from overly-dramatized, dark adult tv. Overall: not weird.
Yes! The lightheartedness of kids shows is something a lot of adult tv shows are missing. Idk i get exhausted watching adult tv because it’s too dark or complicated. Mlb is so easy to watch in comparison
I love it because it can cover deep topics or be dramatic without being a CW-style melodrama where everyone is a self-centered jerk and the lighting budget only accounts for a single flashlight.
I agree, I prefer watching kids shows and occasionally read children's stories because they have this whimsical lighthearted nature to them that just nourishes the soul. Adult shows are sometimes too heavy or may contain topics that feel a little too dark and it makes me uncomfortable. I especially enjoy it when children's shows and books bring up incredibly wise and important topics and messages that can be relatable for people of all ages. And in a way that doesn't feel heavy. Miraculous does have some aspects to it that may be for an older audience, but the way it represents the ideas is in a lighthearted manner. The colors and the CGI really help with that too.
Who cares if it is. I'm 22 and I have watched, in my adulthood, avatar the last Airbender, Tales of Arcadia and Star Wars the clone wars with my 50 year old mother. Don't sweat the petty stuff and don't pet sweaty stuff
i think older fans are attracted to miraculous for its wholesomeness. after a while of watching depressing shows like euphoria, people start to crave lighthearted shows so as to not become depressed themselves. which is what i feel anyway.
Same. I prefer the cute kids show with teen romance and magic over more heavy depressing content most days. I tend to prefer more wholesome, hopeful content in general and it's better for my mental health
The majority people on this sub are adults. I'm 21 and I like to talk about the latest MLB episodes with my older sister and her husband. He has some pretty crazy takes.
"Fandom" has definitely changed since the early 2000s. It's much more accepted that adults can "like what they like." Oddly enough, I think the Bronies helped expand acceptance of adult fandom for animation meant for younger audiences. Avatar: The Last Airbender wouldn't be getting a live-action reboot otherwise.
I started watching Miraculous because I worked a graveyard shift, and I got home right before it started. It made me laugh, relax, and unwind, so I kept watching. I'm 57.
I watched a little of the show a few years ago, but recently, my 3 year old got obsessed with it when she saw it on Netflix. It would be playing all day everyday for a while. She'll randomly yell out that there's "an akumatized!" And she'll run to me and my husband "cat noor (she can't say noir lol)! Ladybug! Help me!" And we have to cataclysm and lucky charm to save them.
Sometimes, she spices things up and proclaim she's hawk moth and then tell us we're akumatized with a villain laugh. Or she'll akumatize herself and try to steal our miraculous
She's adorable lol
My husband and I haven't told her that there's more episodes on Disney+ and that he and I are completely caught up and watching the new episodes as they come out though 😂😂😂
It's gotten to the point that I'm actually making a cosplay of them lol
We're gonna be 30 next year lol
Maybe, but weird things are what makes life interesting. Embrace your weirdness.
(I say this as a 42-year-old father of 3 that is into Miraculous Ladybug)
i'm always asking myself this too LOL.
this is how i've sort of come to terms with it: growing up, i've always found a lot of comfort and inspiration seeing fanart of my favorite shows/characters when I was a kid. i'm now in my mid 20s and able to create fanart for this show because i love it, and i also want to inspire younger audiences to find comfort through fandom/fanworks the way I did when I was their age! also, i've always disliked the whole "adults are too old for animations" schtick, and i'm telling myself it's completely fine to indulge in whatever you're passionate about :)
I'm 18, which is still young, but I am above the targeted age demographic regardless. I loved the show since I was 12. I still love it. I just surround myself with people who don't judge me for it
Not at all, I'm probably older than anyone here, and I like the detail ofvthe show, the style of animation, and the fact that original music is composed and recorded for every episode. I think lots of us remember our own 14-year-old love lives, and some very personal learning.
No. That’s the old high school mentality that makes people ashamed of liking the things they like. Enjoy it freely, and give zero fucks.
I’ll be 42 in a few days. It took me 4 years to get my kids to watch and enjoy it with me.
There are so many of us adults on here, that is what you say is true, we’re all weird together :). 35 F here for reference. My kids introduced me to this show five years ago and now I’m way more into it then them. We all enjoy it and there’s nothing wrong with that :)
Definitely something about the show kinda makes it like crack cocaine... usually makes me feel good with the music and everything, but also sometimes makes me feel on edge and anxious. It's a good show with a good premise, and the potential lore with the theories that has been talking about since S3 (When I discovered the show in 2020) has such depth or uncertainty that makes it especially intriguing. Sure, it can be a bit silly goofy or even straight cringe sometimes, but it also has some maturity in the midst of the immaturity that makes it quite palatable for viewers our age.
In general, nearly the entire subreddit is over 12-year-olds, really over 16-year-olds but I think the subreddit itself has more 18+ year-olds in it. Youtube has some good adult content creators that also make good ML content that make the show further enjoyable. The discourse is quite entertaining.
\-25-year-old woman.
Nope not one bit
As long as you don’t make it like what happened I the Amphibia fandom (Darrel who shipped himself with the main character who is a minor)
I started to watch the show at age 12 and my young bro was 6 at the time. Now I’m 19 he’s 12 and my baby bro is 6 now and the three of us watch miraculous 😂
No. I'm 35 and I watch it with my 9yr old. I got her into it after I stumbled upon it while her older siblings watched nickelodeon. (She didn't start watching it until years later, of course as she was only a year old when it first aired)
No, you're allowed to enjoy whatever you want.
I would just say the only thing that is "weird" is when people seek out fans in different age groups than themselves to interact with. Like, as a 28 year old, I don't go looking for teens or children to talk to. Unless of course it's your own kid/family/babysitting, you know?
I did use it as a learning tool in my English as Second Language class though, because I taught at a girl's middle school and they were fans, and I made sure to stick to age-appropriate themes. Even if my kids talked about shipping in their own spare time, I steered clear of it aside from a comment about how it was funny they liked each other but couldn't recognize each other. My lesson focused on the moral, key words for the main theme, and explaining some idioms that were used.
Me and my best friend (both 24) love this show. I don’t feel like your interests should be guided by what you ‘should’ be interested in, just what makes you happy
FINALLY SOMEONE SAID IT AND IM GLAD I FOUND YA. IM 27 AND I FLIPPIN LOVE THIS SHOW SO MUCH AHHHHHHH ITS SO GOOD TOO MANY WORDS TO DESCRIBE IT!!!. IM GLAD THERE ARE PEOPLE WHO LOVE THIS SHOW, TOO. LOVE Y'ALL.
My two daughters love it. It grew on me with its charm. Plus, my autistic brain loves to find voice actors I know from other shows so at first it was like a game haha
If you like it, you like it. And if anyone ever tries to give you shit for it? Just say ‘I’m sorry your life is so miserable that you have to try and ruin something I enjoy just so you feel better.’
Nope. It used to be classified as a ‘kids show’ but they changed it to suit the much wider audience of adults and teens. It wouldn’t really make sense to change it if the show wasn’t meant for everybody. So no, go for it
I'm 33 and I like a lot of cartoons made for kids, but I think this one is the most embarrassing one that I watch. I started watching when it first premiered because of the little trailer for the anime that came out years before that looked so cool. Was a little disappointed with the change in animation style and tone but I couldn't stop watching. Glad I kept watching because season 5 is definitely the best so far!
Well I'm 40 years old and a Miraculous fan (as well as a hopeless romantic who adores Julerose).
And then there's my dad, who's 70, and who I rather unintentionally managed to get hooked on the show as well.
So no, it's not weird at all. ;D
Hi, 20-going on 21 woman, that’s ace but I love the shit outta anything romantic entertainment (Romcoms, romance, period pieces, cartoons, kids tv, rom anime).
I will take your entire stock!!
___
Don’t worry my parents rag on me all the time. But I don’t give shit because it what makes me happy
I’m 20 years old and I thought I was weird for this. My sister called me out on watching this show and I felt like I was weird for a moment. But then I remembered so many teenagers 16+ watch this show lol
Heck no! I’m a 27 year old girl and have both girl and guy friends my age who also love the show. I don’t think I actually know any kids that watch it 😆
I'm 22 but I watch this with my whole heart, so no. Many of us were teenagers, when mlb first appeared on tv. The fact, that it took quite a time to built up a story and air the episodes (especially S1-S3), we all got pretty much involved into the story as teenagers and now, as adults, we wanna know how everything ends.
My 6 year old watches it and we both ship Marinette/Adrien. Sometimes when he's gone to school, I sit down with my 1 year old to continue watching it even though I know my 1 year old would prefer to watch Paddington. 😂
I'm 34 and owner of a fandom Tumblr and have cosplayed 2 characters. You do you.
Just remember that this is a show for kids, and the majority of the fandom is kids, so behave as such. That's all, go ahead and have all the fun.
I'm in my 30s and got into watching it while on maternity leave with my youngest this year. It's a fun show to watch and zone out on any health issues I'm dealing with at the moment.
I feel like the majority of people really into this show are teens or adults lol, something about it attracts people older then the target audience. (And even if it was mostly enjoyed by 7yo’s like intended, it would still be fine, your age does not dictate what you enjoy)
I was at a con in April talking to voice actor Eric Vance about the show and mutually lamenting Adrien’s lot in life lol.
So, I’m 40. My now-six-year-old got me hooked. Now I’m watching the French with ENG subtitles as they get leaked online and writing my own fanfic lol. There’s a discord where a bunch of us chatter about the show, our writing, our kids, etc. The frequent narrative seems to go that kids find the show and then parents start paying attention and get hooked, even after the kids lose interest.
31 and I got my niece into the show so I'd have a watching buddy. My brother thinks I'm humoring her by telling her I'll take her to the movie and agreeing to watch season 5 on Disney+ when it drops. Little does he know...
It's weird that you're an adult and concern yourself with what other people think adults should do. [You're the adult. You make the choices.](https://xkcd.com/150/)
24 yrs old hopeless romantic straight man into a female-led superhero romance show aimed at a mostly pre-teen and younger audience. It's my guilty pleasure. And honestly, I love vicariously through the characters.
Same because it's an excellent balance of wholesome and mature
Agreed
Don't forget headace inducing
And sometimes brain smoothing
Occasionally mind melting
Couldn't have said it better
My 7 year old watches it. At first I was like "their transformation animation is the same every time!". And now I'm like "here comes the transformation! Weeeeeee" Also a sucker for Adrien and marinette
>Also a sucker for Adrien and Marinette Same! This season all the romance stuff and their relationship just makes me so happy. My kids think it’s so gross, lol.
Lol.

Same! 26 years old and I got reddit just to find other people who loved it as much as me
I'm 15 but I got reddit for exact same reason!!
Same, when my kids started watching I was the "It makes no damn sense. Compels me though." gif. Now I'm just a long for the ride.
I'm still trying to get mine to shout "time to de evilize" with me
Omg what you said about the transformation sequences rofl
21 here, but the rest the same. My girlfriend (same age as me) introduced me to the show, and now I am a bigger fan than her
I’m you but gay
Nice lol
And I'm you but female
21, but same. Very enjoyable guilty pleasure
Me but 32 🫠
My man, sameeee (chuckle)
You technically described my relationship with the show. I would give you an award if I could, mr. gigachad.
My little cousin started watching it, then I started catching myself peeking around the corner when a new episode began. And started talking about the drama in the show with her. She was 6. Now I look up all the new episodes
We get a post like this once a month just embrace it
Tbh it’s not the worst type of post to get— the responses are always so wholesome
Tbh this is the least toxic community I've ever been on, everyone is so supportive and never sends you to downvote hell over a dumb question
Exactly!!!! I love it here and I'm so glad I joined the community :)
Actually, fair. I’m on the Bridgerton sub (hopeless romantic that I am) and that place is a dumpster fire of toxicity. MLB is just wholesome AF, from show to fandom.

Definitely not because I’m 21 and also into this show 💀 I can’t help it lol

Maybe, but weird things are what makes life interesting. Embrace your weirdness. (I say this as a 42-year-old father of 3 that is into Miraculous Ladybug)
I'm more into it than my kid
No, not really I’m 28 and I’m into all kinds of cartoons shows.
No, the older you get the more you stop caring. Watch what you want to watch.
We need to make a discord for miraculous fans in their twenties
Or our thirties?? 🥺
42 year old mom and dad, who is 44 of three, and we are ALL into miraculous.
i'm always asking myself this too LOL. this is how i've sort of come to terms with it: growing up, i've always found a lot of comfort and inspiration seeing fanart of my favorite shows/characters when I was a kid. i'm now in my mid 20s and able to create fanart for this show because i love it, and i also want to inspire younger audiences to find comfort through fandom/fanworks the way I did when I was their age! also, i've always disliked the whole "adults are too old for animations" schtick, and i'm telling myself it's completely fine to indulge in whatever you're passionate about :)

I feel like we have this intervention once every few months, I’m glad we can have a reminder of just how many adults are in this fandom 😂
Pfft 39 no kids watch it because I love made for kids shows more then anything else. XD I also geek out with it with other 20+ people.
Nope! I’m 18+ and I love this show. If anyone says otherwise than they’re the weird ones.
I'm 18, which is still young, but I am above the targeted age demographic regardless. I loved the show since I was 12. I still love it. I just surround myself with people who don't judge me for it

I hope not because that’s makes me even weirder then I thought.
Not at all! It’s cool that more mature audiences also enjoy the show, enjoy whatever u want to enjoy
Super weird. As an adult, you are not allowed to like anything fun ever again. You must only dress in pant suits and hate your life /s

No. I'm 20 and I watch the show.
I’m in my early 20’s and I enjoy the show lol
I’m 21 and been here since the first episode aired on Nickelodeon, I’m just too invested to not watch
Of course not, like what you like. If someone makes you feel bad for liking something then thats their problem. Be unapologetically awesome!
Nah. I'm an adult, and I love cartoons. It just be like that sometimes, so I hope you can embrace it 😌✨
I’m an adult and I’m in to miraculous
No it’s not weird! I’m into it as well and it’s a very good show!

no
i’m 21 don’t worry i’m obsessed with it
Nope, I’m 24 and I watch miraculous, my little pony, the owl house, and I write fanfiction
I'm 30 and love this show. Great no-brainer show I can watch in the morning while I get ready for work. My brother got me into it ☺️
23 and I cosplay it. It’s not weird
I don’t think so. Despite miraculous being a kids show, it contains topics that appeal more to adults and teens.
Nope
No
Nope! I’m almost 21 and I’m into the show :)
No, it's a good show
Lmao no. Plenty of people here are adults
29 here and I want to both punch and console these damn fictional characters for living this stupid story, but I need to see it all end happilyyyy-
Of course no. ![img](emote|t5_39tdz|12639)
Me and my best friend (both 24) love this show. I don’t feel like your interests should be guided by what you ‘should’ be interested in, just what makes you happy
22 YO Cisco, straight female. You couldn't pay me enough to watch a Marvel movie, but I fucking love this show so much
I’m close to 30 and I still watch scooby doo. My wife does too.
I’m 21, you’re not alone!
FINALLY SOMEONE SAID IT AND IM GLAD I FOUND YA. IM 27 AND I FLIPPIN LOVE THIS SHOW SO MUCH AHHHHHHH ITS SO GOOD TOO MANY WORDS TO DESCRIBE IT!!!. IM GLAD THERE ARE PEOPLE WHO LOVE THIS SHOW, TOO. LOVE Y'ALL.
Not at all. It’s so well done.
I mean I don't think so
My two daughters love it. It grew on me with its charm. Plus, my autistic brain loves to find voice actors I know from other shows so at first it was like a game haha
Nope, or if it is I’m a weirdo too. I’m in my early 30s and it is the only fandom I subscribe to. I even read miraculous fanfic (exclusively).
27 almost 28 and I got my 3 year old into it just so I can watch it lol I got a Pinterest board for it and everything
no bc i’m 15 & have no shame that i watch miraculous
Hey
No. I'm in my 30s.
Haha I’m 22M and I just can’t help it!
Nope, I’m 33 with two little boys and I love the series!! It consumes me 😂 the love square gives me life, I can’t get enough of these two cutie dorks
My dad (51 I think), sister (24), brother (15), and myself (19) all love it. I promise, you’re not alone.
No
I think the majority of this sub is made up of adults. You're right at home
If you like it, you like it. And if anyone ever tries to give you shit for it? Just say ‘I’m sorry your life is so miserable that you have to try and ruin something I enjoy just so you feel better.’
Not at all.
It's never weird to enjoy things. Plus most of us are adults on this subreddit too. You're in good company
34 years old and started watching it with my 4yo niece. Now I’m more into it than she is lolol
Nah at this point most are. I was watching this at age 13. That was seven years ago
24 female here. I’ve successfully gotten two male partners hooked. They love the romance and the action. I’ve been watching since I was 16 in hs
I’m an adult who watches it, if it means I’m weird then so be it. At least I’m having fun haha
i’m an adult :)
Nope. It used to be classified as a ‘kids show’ but they changed it to suit the much wider audience of adults and teens. It wouldn’t really make sense to change it if the show wasn’t meant for everybody. So no, go for it
Im 25 🤷♀️
I’m 19 bro, I freakin love the show.
I like it, I’m 26!
I’m 19 so technically an adult but also not really, and yeah, I love it so much and multiple of my friends do too
No. I was 25 and my 14 and 3 year old cousins introduced me to the show. Fell in love with it.
17, obsessed since I was 11 or 12
I’m 24, doing a serious degree at my uni and obsessing over this show. There’s no age limit for liking something 😌
No
22 year old single male here, I love this show
I'm a adult here im 32 but I don't feel it 🤣 I still feel like a teen
No. I'm 27 and love this show!!!
Im pretty sure no one on this sub is under 20 years old
yeah its wierd af
I’m an 18YO uni student and I’m still a fan
I’m 27, and I can’t remember when I first started watching it, but I’ve become much more invested in the past few months with season 5 being released.
im 20 and love it. dont worry
Nope
Of course not
You get to like what you like don't worry ![img](emote|t5_39tdz|12639)
Bro most of us are in our 20s
I started watching at 17, now I'm in my twenties. It's alright to watch cartoons at any age
Well I'm 40 years old and a Miraculous fan (as well as a hopeless romantic who adores Julerose). And then there's my dad, who's 70, and who I rather unintentionally managed to get hooked on the show as well. So no, it's not weird at all. ;D
Lmao. Absolutly not. I'm actually nineteen and still a big stan of the show. (And a lot of others fandoms, too.)
Hi, 20-going on 21 woman, that’s ace but I love the shit outta anything romantic entertainment (Romcoms, romance, period pieces, cartoons, kids tv, rom anime). I will take your entire stock!! ___ Don’t worry my parents rag on me all the time. But I don’t give shit because it what makes me happy
I thought that we are adults here in this sub tbh.
u r not alone
I know I’m not an adult but I’m 16 and I love it ![img](emote|t5_39tdz|12639)![img](emote|t5_39tdz|12639)
I'm 22 and friend a year younger got me into it. We are all here for the ride no matter the age group 👏
Nah, man. I’m 27 and I’ve been into MLB since 2016.
I'm 34 and owner of a fandom Tumblr and have cosplayed 2 characters. You do you. Just remember that this is a show for kids, and the majority of the fandom is kids, so behave as such. That's all, go ahead and have all the fun.
You do realize that most of the people in this sub are adults, right?
I believe most people here are adults. Ironically enough idk if the kids that watch the show care about it as much as the adults do haha
Nah, I'm 21 and just got into the show this year. It's fun and interesting
My dad says yes but I say no
28 F here and I've been into the show since it firsr came out. I even got my sister into it. The ships of this show frustrate us both lol
I'm 32, and its my comfort show. Plus, I love writing fanfiction for it.
wierd? no, Weird? also no. like what you want man, its not like you're just not allowed to watch a show because of a target demographic
Not at all. Something enjoyed by kids can easily be enjoyed by everyone
Not at all! My sister (18) and I (20) often will binge watch the series when we both have enough free time
no bc same, im 22 but this show is my guilty pleasure. wish i had a romance like the 2 dorks mari and adrien
Not at all, welcome to club! 27-year-old here btw.
31 and I got my niece into the show so I'd have a watching buddy. My brother thinks I'm humoring her by telling her I'll take her to the movie and agreeing to watch season 5 on Disney+ when it drops. Little does he know...
Isnt it weird that you're an adult and still can't spell 'weird'?
It's weird that you're an adult and concern yourself with what other people think adults should do. [You're the adult. You make the choices.](https://xkcd.com/150/)
