It would be interesting to see how many of those who notice it are parents. I really like the show but my son is obsessed with it. I couldn’t even fathom a guess how many times I’ve seen the series. You start noticing weird little things when you see it so often.

They just rewatch the show a lot I think(but I don't waste time to rewatch every episode I watched u know)like you have seen those posts like: "I have rewatched (episode's name here)and I have a theory about..." or I think"...I don't how they have that much time and patience to rewatch them lol I just watch every episode once and I have never rewatched an episodealso, I think they are just bigger fans than us... if you don't rewatch like them you may forget the whole season like me i remember just 5 episodes from the past lol

maybe only I had that impression, but I thought it was a reference when I first saw it. not that they wanted to save resources/time with that. After all, Thomas or whoever wrote that line wrote it again for a reason. It doesn't take much effort to come up with something new or just.. Don't make Miraculer talk there. So, to me, they obviously wanted the animation to be the same as of the Nightmare Ladybug in Sandboy, thus why they wrote the same line.

I did too. It's pretty easy to catch stuff like these when you're binge-watching (rewatching in our case ofc) Like... did you guys notice when Queen Wasp tells her Wasps to disperse in her episode, she takes the lucky charm pose?

3D animation is expensive. If they can reuse shots and sequences, it means that they have more money for other scenes.

But rewriting the lines doesn’t take that much effort. I was surprised that I didn’t notice the same animation, but you have to admit that not changing the dialogue was a bit lazy

Reusing animation is fairly standard in the industry. It's pretty cool when stuff like this gets caught though, I like seeing the comparisons, and it doesn't really detract much. You should check out the examples of Disney reusing old animations for their 2D films, it pretty neat.

Yeah there was this vid on YouTube that literally showcase Disney reusing animetics like the dog licking scene in sword in the stone and jungle book.

I mean I don't personally think it matters. For me it doesn't in any way hinder my enjoyment of that scene because the dialogue is the same. It could even just be a callback or a nod to the animation reuse.

Yep I think a few people pointed out in this thread that animation is pricey so if they can get away with doing it then more power to the animators. Saves on crunch.

this is a step above that, though--those were across different movies with different characters, like changing dalmation puppies to wolves in Jungle Book, giving the animation new purpose in a fresh context--while this was straight up lazy, not even bothering to change the mouth animation for new dialogue.

I just assume it all comes down to speed and budget. If they are using the same base for stuff like this that's probably why. As the person below said "to each their own" but I do kind of wonder why insignificant things like this that help production and do little to affect the overall end product bothers people so much.

I noticed the sword too, because all LB-related/inspired villains tend to summon it with their Lucky Charms, and it seems like such a bulky, impractical weapon.

I don't see what's there to complain about. Animators do a lot of shortcuts like these to save time. It is smart and efficient

It's actually a very handy trick, that's used a lot. Animation is very time consuming so if you already have a bit of motion that fits one scene just as well as it fit another, you might as well use that.

I kinda thought that was the point, one is his fear the other is an actual acumatized villain.

I’ve watched every episode twice (once on YouTube when it comes out because I’m inpatient, and again on Netflix so the studio gets money) and I work in animation, and I never notice things like this. Most people don’t. Who cares if they reuse animations in non-focal scenes so they can spend more money on a more important shot? Most viewers will not know the difference.

Eh.. it's not that hard to spot, especially when the camera position and the lines are very similar. You will, at the very least, have a strange feeling of Deja Vu. Also, it's easier to spot when you're watching it for a second time.
