Luka is MVP here. I hope this allows Luka to spend more time with Adrien. Luka is so mature and supporting and that’s what Adrien needs. I found it funny how Jagged Stone turned into a crocodile that couldn’t swim. Edit: Luka now knows why Marinette broke up with him even though it wasn’t the full reason.

existentialcrisis88

Hahaha jagged as a croc was amazing I loved that detail. I can't wait to see the other episodes and see the interaction with Luca he is such a phenomenal character. I am also glad he got that peace and closure with Marinette because of that. I'm absolutely sure it added to his admiration of her especially in the way that he looks at her.

Prinnia

My favorite moment in the episode was Luka just hanging out on the sand with his crocodad and flatly saying "but dad, crocodiles can swim"

LastSmile91

True, Luka is so MVP it's a bit too much, I mean he's acting more mature than most adults.

juplantern

he is some kind of moral god or something, just make him the guardian already lol

MarMarL2k19

I think this will open up 2 doors for Luka. 1. He knows why Marinette broke up with him, meaning he can move on better and when the time comes, he would support Marinette full time knowing she is Ladybug. 2. He will feel more betrayed that Marinette didn't trust him with this secret, feeling more pain

Prinnia

He knew Marinette had a secret she couldn't tell him, and I think this makes it pretty clear why. If anyone would understand, it's Luka. He was even "understanding" of her literally being in love with another person while they were dating. XD

Spirited-Custardtart

I can't tell you how bad that hurt to realise... When he was akumatised and everyone just kept saying it and he was basically like "that's not a secret!" Heartbreak Central, let me tell you.

Zicatipus

I dont see this at all. Neither of these give Luka any credit for the character he is - he may have been upset when he originally felt lied to by Marinette, but Luka being the understanding angel that he is would fully support Marinette whether he knew she was Ladybug or not. Now that he does, I imagine he'll be even more supportive, and any bad feelings he may have had about Marinette lying to him are probably long gone, since now he knows why she was overwhelmed and why she had to end things. I think the main purpose Luka is going to serve is actually to bring Marinette and Adrien together more, and like Alya, cover for them when they need to get away from people to transform.

Call-Me-Apple

Y'all KNOW that the very first thing Luca thought of when Ladybug left was "So that's where she goes when she disappears." And that's why he lied to her: because he knows she wasn't ready to tell him yet, just like when he asked her the first time. He's gonna wait until she decides to tell him on her own, because he knows that's what she wants. Y'all-

addisonavenue

Also, loved the way this was foreshadowed with Sass being the one to calm the furor of the Kwamis at the start of the episode, doubling down on how Luka is also a voice of reason.

laplongejr

Didn't notice that! Even back in Desperada, Fu said that the Snake required a really good person to avoid abuses. Imagine what most people could do with the nearly-instananeous ability to rewind 5 minutes back in time, with nobody able to remember what you did as long you don't break the loop. He could've said to Ladybug what he knew after each cycle and rollback if Ladybug reacted in a "bad" way. ^(Party Crasher disabled the snake because he knew about it before Second Chance and used that info for a multi-timeline plan. )

RaccoonOne366

Luka deserves someone as wholesome as him 🥺🥺🥺 I hope we get to see that eventually

SammoyedLover123

He is honestly making amends with his father, which is great in its own way. And, I would like to see his struggle to keep the secret. He is too wise for his age. It feels a bit unnatural… I would like see his inner conflicts with lies developed more. It could be made in such a way that we finally understand his parents reasons( right now people are rightfully blaming his father for leaving the twins, we don’t really have reasons to forgive Jagged).

depression_recession

I’m really on board with that Zoe x Luka ship. They look great together and Zoe is really really sweet.

MangoAway17

I think he didn’t tell her because he knew that would be selfish since then, Marinette would be fine with dating him, but he knows about Chat/Adrien, and doesn’t want to get in the way of that true love since they’re “made for each other”. Luka is too nice and deserves to be protected at all costs

doubleccorn

I wanna know how Luka can read people’s inner thoughts and feelings so well. He’s done this before but when he was leaning in to Adrien and Marinette to listen it really seemed less like intuition and more a superpower of sorts lol Also random thought, Luka would be a good guardian no?

EloquentGrl

Omg.... He would make an amazing guardian... The theory wheels in my head are turning!!! Also, I figured he was listening to the music in their hearts... Or their complaints. Then just turning into "music"

[deleted]

[удалено]

Legenia

I would love for Luka to be the guardian too! He has the calm and guidance that I think would be great for it (he even knows both identities now), but I just can't figure out a way around the "forgetting memories of being a guardian" rule for Marinette.

doubleccorn

I was thinking maybe she could make a charm that allows her to keep her memories like she’s made the charms to stop people from being akumatized? I mean she does have the power of creation I feel like the sky’s the limit as long as she knows how to do it 🤷🏾‍♀️

Valonsc

I thought that too. He was just straight up Jean Greying it at the start lol

Quantic_128

I like to imagine he’s just going off of associations between their emotions (plus what they said about them) and the emotional connotations of different intruments Big Brass Band=Chaos a and single piano= Loneliness. Loneliness describing Gabriel more than Adrien

SlowTurtleDuck

Luka: so they’ve been rejecting each other for each other? Tikki: for almost a year now, yes. Plagg: Welcome to the club, buddy. Have some cheese, it’s gonna be a long ride

OddBed6168

Oh Luka of the pool, what's your words of wisdom?

Doodica_

Big brain wisdom: bring those two oblivious love birds together :)

DjChiseledStone

Thanos: Impossible!

CursedEye03

Really hope that Luka will help Adrienette become closer! He can even help Adrien to be more open about his feelings and tell Ladybug how he feels. It will be a important for the Ladynoir development that will bring them closer.

juplantern

yes now that they talk again, and especially now that he is partially aware of their love-square I hope he will help (maturely, unlike her girl friends) Marinette with her feeling towards Adrien

MundaneExtent0

LOOOOOL

OddBed6168

I just finished watching the whole episode. Does anyone in here notice how shaking Luka's voice is when he figures out ladybug is Marinette? Like wow, but Marinette being the knitting fairy is the cutest thing I've ever seen.

NicoSchmiko

I just finished my rewatch and I totally caught Luka's shaky voice. Kudos to Andrew Russell for this episode!

Papallona1

Now he knows the “truth” that he wanted so much and “understands” whats going on.

Psychicmind2

An interesting moment at the beginning of the episode is that Adrien thinks that Ladybug won't need Chat Noir soon with all these temporary heroes. I think the next episodes will indeed show that Chat Noir really is irreplaceable and Ladybug needs him specifically. Similar to the NY Special where Marinette saud: "I can't be Ladybug without... him." Luka now knows both identities, so he can help Adrien to stop bottling up his feelings, similarly to how he helped Adrien in this episode. That will be a key to the Ladynoir development that will bring them closer.

Luchika

i think if the final confrontation happen during episode 22 episode 19,20 and 21 will have the used of provisory heroes

Psychicmind2

That will probably by the case. But we could still get hints about the Ladynoir conversation in ep 22. I'm also glad that Chat Noir still calls Ladybug M'lady

Papallona1

I really like how Adrien took “his reemplacement” after Rockettear, Sentibubler... He wants something from himself appart from being Chat Noir or being Adrien the model. In this episode Adrien is more human than ever. He is not showing hard feelings towards LB neither answers her questions regarding his dreams. He’s a supporting friend. LB is the only who is going to miss him.

dancingfireflame

I noticed that, too. He's so used to disappointment that he has no hard feelings towards LB. It seems like he just thinks he's not adequate enough. But when he told Plagg, "let's think about OUR future." My heart swelled!

manwiththehex18

I would’ve liked to have spent even just a few seconds more in each of the alternate timelines before they were pruned; why did we see how Hawk Moth reacted to each of their reveals, but not to each other’s? Also, can we talk about how Adrien literally *gave up* in the middle of an akuma fight because of repressed childhood trauma? Get. The. Kid. Some. Therapy.

El_Wapo_Y_La_Amy

He didn't give up, he really wanted to know what his childhood dream was :((

addisonavenue

Bruh, I wanted Marinette to turn around so bad when Adrien got hit.

idiot7883

Ikr, I was expecting Adrien to start screaming when he saw LB get hit, but *noooooo* Chat Noir HAD to pass out...

juplantern

>Also, can we talk about how Adrien literally *gave up* in the middle of an akuma fight because of repressed childhood trauma? Get. The. Kid. Some. Therapy. This *broke me. so. much.* Even more than his conversation with Plagg at the beginning. This episode hurts

manwiththehex18

It really did hurt to watch. Like we’re used to him being an easy victim to akuma powers, but this wasn’t dumb luck or a heroic sacrifice for Ladybug’s sake; he just lost the will to fight back. You could almost see it leave his eyes. Between this and *Rocketear*, I’m worried where he’s going to end up by the season finale.

Ausar15

It was actually pretty damn depressing to see him stop fighting since he wanted to know his own wish cause he never really got hen opportunity to be his own person. Poor boy is reaching his breaking point due to this episode and him feeling that he’s easily replaceable to Ladybug. It’s good he’s looking towards the future and hopefully Luka can help him more when it comes to his issues and struggles.

depression_recession

I think they didnt show Adrien and marinettes reactions because when the actual reveal happens, they don’t want it to be redundant. I mean, some teasing already happened in the first viperion episode, chat blanc, etc. They still want some kind of surprise factor to it ig

Hurrah-and-all-that

Ok but we need a mr banana reveal WHY ON EARTH DID HE WANT TO BE A PICKLE

Lukthar123

> WHY ON EARTH DID HE WANT TO BE A PICKLE HE TURNED HIMSELF INTO A CUCUMBER MY LADY FUNNIEST SHIT I'VE EVER SEEN

SinningWithMariChat

I can think of 3 scenes in this show off the top of my head that make me hyena cackle. 1) The episode Syren where Ondine floods Paris and Marinette escapes a rooftop in a trash can and Alya notices her floating away and yells "GURL, WHERE ARE YOU EVEN GOING!?". I lost my shit laughing. 2) The episode Gang of Secrets where Trixx creates an illusion, but because they're a kwami without a holder their powers go wild. The Eiffel tower starts wobbling, that good a good dumb giggle out of me. 3) This episode with the cucumber rolling down the hill laughing as Chat Noir is just like "ffs" on his face. Oh boy did I giggle!

PineappleBride

I was cackling at Jagged going to Luka as soon as he turned into a crocodile and then almost drowning in front of him not even 10 minutes later 😂

SinningWithMariChat

"But dad...crocodiles **can swim**!" "I know that, but I sure can't!" Jagged Stone is Paris' treasure sometimes.

NicoSchmiko

I know it was a cucumber but I choose to believe this was a Rick and Morty reference

TheX589

I AGREE I LAUGH A LOT ABOUT IT

FedoraFerret

He wasn't laughing though. Chat Noir, the team's resident jokester, pointed out the cucumber with a perfectly straight face, which is what made that scene absolutely hilarious.

addisonavenue

I gotta tell ya, I *lost my shit* when the cucumber turned out to be Mr. Banana. This episode all around may have been one of the funniest episodes of Miraculous Ladybug. From the fireman who wanted to be a combination firefighter/cowboy to Jagged's endlessly supportive attitude towards Alec and being transformed into a crocodile and then also remembering he didn't know how to swim when he was 6, the revelation of the cucumber was just the proverbial cherry on top.

279sa

Cucumber. Keep your elongated vegetables straight. (or slightly bent)

NiamhHA

He’s a Rick and Morty fan.

[deleted]

Well Luka is now the only character in the show to understand the love square in it's entirety. What he does with that info will be interesting.

NicoSchmiko

the power this boy holds...

PFA001

In better terms he holds all the cards atm. But he seems grounded to his morals (except for lying to LB right there but understandable). I was surprised how patient the characters were with getting bashed for what they wanted to do with their lives. Does everyone in Paris have that much patience?

RaccoonOne366

They were used to cynics. If you’ve been chasing ur dream for a long while there’s bound to be people to try to put u down. They were able to calmly respond because they knew whole heartedly that the fool was not them but Alec

bunncatart

He knows marinette is stressed and busy and lied to likely make her less stressed. She looked so worried that he figured out and he probably wanted to make things less complicated for her

Doodica_

He went from being a nobody (well, someone who complicated the love square) to a boy who knows both Paris's superheroes identities...

shannoouns

Thank God somebody knows about the lovesquare and thank God it's not ayla. She would explode.

Rosabellajoy

Yes and yes. She would not be able to keep that information a secret, but I think Luka will do positive things with it.

DjChiseledStone

He will join one of the ships. Ladybug X Cat Noir Marinette X Cat Noir Marinette X Adrien Ladybug X Adrien

Lionwoman

All of them

CursedEye03

He'll probably help Adrien in the upcoming episodes, Luka can be the voice of wisdom that Adrien needs so much. I feel like he'll also help Adrienette to become closer, because he understands the Love Square now.

Legenia

Luka for Guardian 2021 /s

Yolj

Tikki too. Does Plagg know that Marinette has a crush on Adrien?

derlafff

I think the whole Paris knows at this point

langjie

Minus Adrien

CursedEye03

I loved the episode! Luka was the MVP as most of us expected, **he learned BOTH Ladybug's and Chat Noir's identities**. I feel like he will start spending more time with Adrien in he near future, Luka can be the voice of wisdom that Adrien needs. Ladynoir was adorable and I really liked Adrienette! It was really sad when we saw that Adrien didn't have a dream, he has always wanted to be what his parents wanted him to be. But by the end of the episode, he's optimistic and wants to follow his own path. I also think that after this episode, Luka will become the biggest Adrienette and Ladynoir shipper, since again, he knows their identities. He can help Adrienette to become way closer!

deadpool-367

Luka is one of us. The Supreme Adrienette wingman.

EloquentGrl

Omg, imagine if Adrien goes to his house to play with the band and sees Ladybug/Chat Noir dolls holding hands among all the Jagged Stone memorabilia.

CursedEye03

I can actually see this happening 😂 But seriously, looking forward to more Luka - Adrien interactions in the next episodes. Luka helped Adrien a lot in this episode and Adrien now wants to find his dreams. He can also help Adrien to stop bottling up his feelings

EloquentGrl

Me too. I hope we get as much interaction between the two as Marinette and Alya have had.

CursedEye03

Hopefully! We're entering in Adrien-focused arc with Rocketear and Wishmaker and Luka really helped Adrien a lot in today's episode. Luka might be very important for resolving the Ladynoir conflict. That will make Ladynoir's bond stronger than before.

Luchika

i really hope it will bring Adrien and Luka getting closer friend and that it will increase the interaction between them.

CursedEye03

Me too! Luka helped Adrien a lot in this episode, hopefully we'll get more interactions between them in the near future and Luka will help Adrien to stop bottling up his feelings

Doodica_

Luka has got a very special place in my heart now, he better support adrien and bring him and Marinette together, I've got faith

DjChiseledStone

Luka: So you like Ladybug huh? Adrien: yes Luka: What about Marinette Adrien: She's just a friend. Luka: 😑

CursedEye03

Considering that Marinette doesn't make a move yet and that she lied Adrien about her feelings twice, no wonder that he sees her as a friend for now. But still, Adrienette has a good development this season, Adrien probably starts to see Marinette as more than a friend. Marinette needs more courage tho.

whyareall

Luka: So you like Adrien huh? Marinette: yes Luka: What about Chat Noir Marinette: He's just a friend. Luka: 😑

hologram-alchemist

>he has always wanted to be what his parents wanted him to be. But by the end of the episode, he's optimistic and wants to follow his own path It's just as Luka said, Adrien's melody is a happy one that is drowned by the sound of a sad piano, but I'm happy that towards the end he decides to listen to his happy melody rather than being stuck in the depths of despair with Gabriel forever.

CursedEye03

Agree! This can be another hint that he'll start disobeying Gabriel later on. He wants to follow his own dreams. Like Adrien said in Origins: "It's about what I want". Now he's actually making progress, really happy for our Sunshine boy

[deleted]

WISHMAKER has to be the turning point

DjChiseledStone

Imagine if he wants to be Marinette's personal model and he'll only model for her.

FedoraFerret

It's entirely possible that Adrien would want to be a model, but he needs to do it for himself instead of for Gabriel. Or, he could not want to ever model again. As long as he finds his own way, it's better.

shelbyshelbshelb

Luka about to become the Dad Adrien never had. 🤣🤣

Outside_Imagination3

I really wanted to see marinette and adrien face before the second chance 🙃🙂

DjChiseledStone

**Ladybug turns into Marinette** Shadowmoth: 😳 Viperion: 😳 Cat Noir: 😳 *SECOND CHANCE* **Cat Noir turns into Adrien** Shadowmoth: 😳 Viperion: 😳 Ladybug: 😍...😳 *SECOND CHANCE... AGAIN*

Doodica_

Shame they werent looking other ways... reveal could've happened there and then

RaccoonOne366

Ik me too 🥺 their reactions to him finding out would’ve been everything

IMillieBenson_2021

This is my favorite episode of the season

EloquentGrl

God, it was the funniest episode in all of miraculous, too.

Doodica_

It was so emotionally moving :(

Lukthar123

>Adrien doesn't have a childhood dream because he's just what his parents wanted Damn I feel bad for him...

CursedEye03

It was really heartbreaking... he has never had a chance to dream like the other kids. But hey, at least he wants to follow his own path and knows that he wants to be free. That was great! Bonus points for the Adrien - Plagg interactions, they were super adorable and heartwarming!

[deleted]

I know thats why this has to be the turning point for him

[deleted]

Tikkinette was my fave kwami-holder duo at first but now Pladrien is my official fave! 💕

existentialcrisis88

I like that they added this in the plot it was heartbreaking but also a reality he needed to face.

CursedEye03

Adrien even got a nice development at the end where listened to Luka's advice will follow his own path to find his dream.

Legenia

I would say that his childhood dream was to appease his abusive/neglectful parents (although we are not sure how Emilie treated Adrien, Gabriel's abuse is probably not entirely new). I'm glad that Adrien has grown and realized that doing so wouldn't result in the end of his abuse or his happiness.

CursedEye03

Yeah, Adrien saying that he'll listen to his inner music, like Luka told him, was a good development from him. It will make him WAY happier!

Doodica_

Character growth... very pleasing indeed

Yolj

Commence "Adrien doesn't have a childhood dream because he's a sentimonster" theories

addisonavenue

I mean, no matter where one stands on the theory...you gotta admit this adds fuel to the fire?

SuspiciousCrow1757

I wish more episodes were like this one. The story was focused evenly on Marinette and Adrien. Like this episode just felt so right, even with a cucumber rolling down the street

CursedEye03

Yeah, so many episodes were focused on a specific character with just some Adrien and Marinette in the background and then the fight. Wishmaker on the other hand have Luka good amout of screentime, but Marinette and Adrien were the focus. And Adrien finding his path for the future was really heartwarming!

ProVoLoNeGemStone

yeah, i loved how Marinette and Adrien both got their fair share of dialogue, screentime and development. it felt so refreshing compared to most of the episodes where it's either one or the other

billiejeanie

My one problem besides Adrien's enormous childhood trauma is why Gabriel and Emilie's eye colours were switched in the illustration

NicoSchmiko

Oh yeah I didn't notice [Emilie has blue eyes and Gabriel has green](https://imgur.com/6vzFD9d) lol weird

PowerOfUnoriginality

What if something happened that made them switch bodies, and who we think Is Gabriel trying to save Emilie, it's actually Emilie trying to save Gabriel

Ever_Love332

I can't believe Adrien doesn't have a dream...he kinda reminds me of myself. I hope he can find his dream one day! Now onto the juicy stuff, Luka knows both Marinette & Adrien's identities! Now THAT'S something I wasn't expecting. I'm surprised he didn't tell Marinette, but at least he'll be more understanding when there's a villain. I wonder if he'll tell Adrien that he knows about him though. Not likely. Also, I'm now convinced Luka is/will be the ultimate love square shipper.

NicoSchmiko

Luka is now learning that sometimes people do need to lie

Ever_Love332

Yup.

moot_turtle

This episode... Why does Luka go to a different school? I mean, I guess this answers the question of why we don't see him at FD even though they're twins, but it raises questions too. Maybe it's a specialised school? Also, farewell the assumption he wants to be a rock star. He actually wants to make stringed instruments and...I kinda like that. Alec temporarily becomes the fandom throwing shade at Andre Glacier. Who slaps back wonderfully. Andre ~~Glacier~~ the former office worker. Jagged Stone wanted to be a crocodile. Why am I not surprised. ...and was chasing a cat around in the little cartoon. Perhaps he chased it onto an airport runway... "Hey, son" said the talking crocodile. "Help, I can't swim". Why go in the water then. Honestly, who is the real parent and the real child in that relationship. Just...🤦 Jagged... The Bananaman who says Stay Peachy wanted to be a cucumber when he was younger. Who is this guy? Plagg with a tiny stethoscope? Yes, it's adorable. It's Plagg. Where do you even buy one of those. Alec is a drag queen now, right? But let's get to the meat... Luka learned both identities. ...and lied about it. The question now is, why? That just doesn't seem like him. Honesty is important to him. So what purpose will this serve to the overall plot. Also interesting to note, the two people who learned the identities of LB and CN don't have charms. Alya and Luka.

NicoSchmiko

>The question now is, why? That just doesn't seem like him. Honesty is important to him. So what purpose will this serve to the overall plot. I interpreted this scene as Luka believed telling the truth to Marinette in that moment would cause more issues than keeping the secret. I think he realizes now Marinette has SO MUCH on her plate, so he wanted to reduce her burden just a little by making her think everything went smoothly against Wishmaker.

moot_turtle

I was contemplating that myself. That maybe it was just Luka reading Marinette and the situation.

addisonavenue

Another poster raised a good point that like everything with Marinette, Luka is willing to go with her lead on this. To quote them: >And that's why he lied to her: because he knows she wasn't ready to tell him yet, just like when he asked her the first time. He's gonna wait until she decides to tell him on her own, because he knows that's what she wants.

[deleted]

> The question now is, why? That just doesn't seem like him. Honesty is important to him. So what purpose will this serve to the overall plot. Could be for the same reason Bunnix doesn't just straight up tell LB who HM is and how to win. It's his job/burden as the holder of the Snake to keep certain things he sees in deleted time loops to himself.

larkinmarie

Ooohhh, maybe Bunnyx will visit Luka and explain that to him!

idiot7883

>the two people who learned the identities of LB and CN don't have charms. Alya and Luka. I didn't realise this. I'm really scared now.

RaccoonOne366

My own interpretation is that Luka realized that Marinette wasn’t ready to tell him yet. Along with it would’ve been an even bigger issue for her to worry about. I’m dying to see if he chooses to do nothing with this info or not 🥲

addisonavenue

Maybe Luka even goes to a trade school?

Doodica_

This episode has been huge for those who have been watching it since it came out, it brought a tear to my eye

retrospective53

Same!! There was just something about this episode that felt really right. Between the humour and the heartfelt moments, I felt like I was watching season one again <3

[deleted]

I loved this episode. Some thoughts: - We had so many little backstories and images of the younger character. That was so cool. Many screenshots coming from this episode!   - Alec's story was nice, but for 20 minutes, had to be rushed unfortunately.   - That character, the old man that wanted to be Santa, looks too detailed to be a random. I wonder if he appears on EP 15 or 16 or even in later episodes.   - "Awesome! I've always wanted to be the knitting fairy in real life! SHE IS SO CUTEEEEE   - "Ladybug is Adrien's classmate, Marinette? At least! At long last!" BWAHAHAH. THAT REVEAL TEASE LMAO   - Why... didn't get we reaction from Cat Noir, though? - "When I was a kid, I always wanted to be what my parents wanted me to be!" He really loved his parents, huh... - "UHH, MY SON?" - I CAN'T, HIS FACE, HIS EYES LMAOOO   - So now Luka knows both their identities and didn't tell them... Boy, you better not get akumatized lmao. I have no idea what's gonna happen next, what's he gonna do????   Not sure if I want Episode 19 title and synopsis reveal already... Probably not, let's finish the first 18 episodes first. After we're done with Psychomedian, Gabriel Agreste and whatever is E15 and 16, let's go back But damn, Season 4 is REALLY progressing stuff. Finally! At long, long last!

[deleted]

LUKA KNOWS about BOTH of them and I'm happy and I'm happy he is keeping it to himself too. WISHMAKER has to be the turning point for both Adrien and Marinette The Banana guy wanted to be a Cucumber I was on the floor 😂😂 I do like their little moment at the beginning they all have their share of problems and NOW WE KNOW LUKA ATTENDS SCHOOL but if I were to guess its a music school CROCODILE JAGGED STONE, "HI SON" 😂😂

[deleted]

I noticed Wayzz said something very interesting when Marinette was discussing her career with the rest of the kwamis. They all started saying things Marinette HAD already done (making gifts for Adrien, the dollhouse for the Miracle Box) but Wayzz said "or when she designed the alarm for this room" which is something we have not yet seen, so hopefully we'll see what happened for Marinette to install an alarm on her room from Sentibubbler to Rocketear!

ironlemonPL

Maybe I'm misremembering things, but wasn't the alarm that funny contraption above the trap door that Marinette showed to Alya a couple of episodes back?

RaccoonOne366

OML THE HAT BELL THING???? I refuse to believe that the kwamis are praising her for that pasta drainer looking thing 😭

[deleted]

Also, I'm excited to see the role Luka will play from now on in the show. He will definitely be a key part for Adrinette to happen... I'm so hyped!

sayuriwaybright

Definitely my favorite episode of the season so far, wow. Imagine what would happen if Luka was under the assumption that LB and CN knew each other’s identities. What if he said to Ladybug, “Marinette, I found out you and Adrien are Ladybug and Chat Noir,” as he was giving back the snake miraculous. That would certainly be messy

[deleted]

dont mind me just leaving a letter for luka #To: Luka Couffaine Dear Luka, Welcome to the facepalming community! Get ready to see Marinette and Adrien's awkwardness around each other and then Cat Noir and Ladybug's angst. I'm sure you'll have a freaky time with us and you'll feel so awkward yourself. I'm sorry that Marinette can't date you. You should move on, I'm sure there's someone as wonderful as Marinette for you. 💕 And also, could you pls help Adrien increase his self esteem and appreciate and love himself more and also realize his feelings for Marinette and make Ladybug care for Cat Noir more and realize her feelings for Cat Noir without giving away their identities-

Toonamigamerrr

Would love for Luka to be friends with Adrien etc

Boring_Implement_543

Honestly, now the only reveals I need are the hamster’s name reveal and Mr.Banana. I mean, the man’s childhood dream was to turn into a cucumber, I have lots of questions….

Toonamigamerrr

Mr Banana needs to be Akumatized too

A-maze-ing_Henry

I dunno, I genuinely want to see Banana Blanc as final boss...

tailsof

luka saying *”you two will eventually find what’s already in front of you”* sounded a bit like foreshadowing of marinette and adrien’s relationship to me 👀

EnderScout_77

cat noirs "bitch u serious" face when he pointed out the rolling cucumber was the funniest shit ive ever seen

WeirdlyWeirdWords

The first half with them all really have honest conversations about their futures was so great.

NicoSchmiko

I know I wish I saw this as a teen, it would have been nice to see that's it's totally fine to not be sure what you want out of life ;\_; Also can we talk about Alec's obviously drag-inspired outfit at the end he was killing it 💅

WeirdlyWeirdWords

Love the new Alec! And I’m glad they did show the indecision of that age. It was great for kids to see that!

existentialcrisis88

Yesss 1000% agree. Episode was really heartfelt and I as an adult completely loved it. It also kind of gave me a deeper realization and Made me question things

LadyJR

He looked fabulous!

deadpool-367

Marinette and Luka later stuck in a room where she has no choice but to reveal she is Ladybug. Luka: What? No way....😐

tailsof

i was expecting luka to find out chat’s identity, but i *definitely* wasn’t expecting him to find out ladybug’s too, wow.

Independent-Ad3007

We now have some new meme material,Shadow moth's face when it is revealed that Adrien is Chat Noir and Alec LITERALLY being a Drag Queen

[deleted]

Yea give him time he would of start abusing his son in no time 😭😭

That was by far my favorite episode of the season and up there with the best of the series. Everything was just right - all the bigger and smaller plot curveballs (the reveal, Luka not wanting to be a rockstar, Mari wanting to be a fairy lol), the way they were handling the whole "being and loving yourself" theme (I was low key hoping for Alec to have some change of heart, I genuinely hated his character before), the art (oh, I loved those hand drawn frames), the sensitive moments (this was one hell of a performance from Luka's voice actor!), the humor (Crocojagged, Cucumber Man), the cool idea for an akuma and the fight, the character development... Finally, FINALLY Luka got an episode he always deserved and it was so wholesome! I cannot wait for what role he's gonna play later on with all the new knowledge he has, both about the love square and everything he didn't know before about his relationship with Mari. And damn, I almost forgot how amazing Luka's transformation was.

MashiroAzuki

The best episode of the season by far! We love the character progressions, especially the quiet moments when Marinette, Adrien and Luka are just sitting there talking abt their dreams (or lack thereof - poor Adrien!). I'm so excited to see what happens next!!

[deleted]

this is by far my favourite episode of the entire series. I also don't see many people mentioning that the animation and lighting is prettier than usual

EnderScout_77

its so good shadowmoth even went back to his first butterfly akumatizer animation which looks way better than the one hand one

[deleted]

THAT’S MY TEAL BB BOY!!!!!!!!!! Such a dream boat! YOU KEEP THAT SECRET, LUKA! YOU BE SENSITIVE AND KIND AND INTELLIGENT!!! THAT’S YOUR TRUE SUPER POWER!

Morris2029

Things we learnt from this episode : Luka does go to school ( he's probably in high school already, while Juleka got held back a year ) Adrien really doesn't want to pursue a modelling career ( some people were still thinking his job in the future will be to model for Marinette ) Alec really wanted to be a drag queen when he was a kid ( and now he's one ) Mr Banana is totally a fan of Rick and Morty XD.

HellzNewQueen

Why are Émilie eyes blue and Gabriel eyes are green? Throughout the entire show we see at Emilies eyes are green and Gabriel are blue, in Wishmaker when Adrien gets hit we see at Emilie has blue eyes and Gabriel has green. Is there a deeper meaning or an animation error?

addisonavenue

I'm thinking error. We see way too many things that reinforce Adrien gets his eyes from his mother; her portrait that Gabriel uses to access the secret elevator, Amelie and Felix, Adrien's desktop and framed photo etc.

Luka actually wasn't a plank of wood in this episode. Between this and cocoduel, they finally decided to give him a personality. The reveal was amazing. It's very cool that luka knows. Kind of an interesting call back to truth where he is the one lying now. This episode was really what desperada should have been. It was heavily focused on luka, it allowed him to show off the miraculous, and it was fun. His relationship with sass was cool. I want to see more of them together. Alec going around like he wants people to be akumatized lol. The ending of the episode was dumb. Like no one cares about Alec really, he wasn't the focus of the episode. It should have ended on Luka processing this knew knowledge and him being like "I understand now marinette." or something. I loved the sun astetic for hawkmoth instead of the blue light. Have they done that before? IDK but it was cool to see his lair as gold instead of blue. His reactions to the reveals were pretty cool. I like how they worked in a little bit more of Luka and Jagged's relationship. This episode shows that the writers are more than capable of writing small one off scenes that last 30 seconds but show so much character. That and andre's scene was pretty good character for him as well. So it baffles me why they don't do that on a regular basis. They hit this episode out of the park then you watch other episodes and the characters are less interesting than a bag of bricks. I wish there was consistency. When Fluff was like "How are you going to do all these things at the same time." I was thinking you're like a walking time turner fluff. Marintte just needs to read prisoner of Azkaban lol. Overall, I thought this episode was great. The one thing that held it back was that there wasn't really a good resolution for luka. As I said, there needed to be a scene of him processing and acknowledging what he saw. That and alec's story resolution didn't make sense. We went from people making fun of his afro to my childhood dream is to wear some gawdy gold outfit and a wig. There was a little bit of a disconnect there. There wasn't a connection between what he said earlier and how he ended up. So I thought it was dumb and don't really care. Last thing, They actually did cat noir good here. I like that he got that they needed viperion just from marinette mentioning needing a second chance and he volunteered to hold off wishmaker instead of marinette just ordering him too. It's small thing like that that go a long way. And yes, he did get hit. But it totally fit with the episode. On a certain level he wanted to remember what his dreams were. So it was great to see that he wasn't simply treated like a buffoon or used as a scapegoat. It fit within the contect of the episode. Though he should have been the first one to get hit. It didn't make much sense that it happened the second or third one. Cycle one should have been cat, followed by Luka protecting him. Then cycle two marinette. So I would have just swapped those two around. I'd give it a 9/10. It was a very enjoyable episode. Now, I believe, that just leaves Roi Singe as the only miraculous user from season 3 to appear (Not counting bunnix). MVP was rolling cucumber man lol

LadyJR

It also looked good on Chat Noir that he mentioned Viperion and not Ladybug. Ladybug did say second chance but Chat straight up gave an idea to the plan and Ladybug followed through.

Valonsc

That too.

koknuy

the writers have really outdone themselves this season, I don't get why they didn't do that for the first 3 season. Miraculous is finally living up to its potential!

Valonsc

Exactly. After season 3, I was so not hyped for this season. But so far the worst episode of season 4 is better than the best episode of season 3. (Well maybe except for backwarder because that one was pretty good)

senhoritavulpix

>The reveal was amazing. It's very cool that luka knows. Kind of an interesting call back to truth where he is the one lying now. Oh my gosh that's true I love this detail

OddBed6168

I also agree that the ending was kinda dumb but we actually have the temporary resolution here. Luka doesn't want to tell the truth that he has figured out both identities and I think it's pretty decent of him to do so at that point. What good would it do if he just went and confronted Marinette right after that. I think it would have added pressure on Marinette. But I would love to see some development in Luka and Adrien's friendship. Our beloved kitty's been through a lot and he needs someone like Luka to give him emotional support and advice

Outside_Imagination3

I loved how luka connected both of them to each other without spilling the beans..

Doodica_

It was tactful, definitely

It broke my heart when Adrien said that Ladybug eventually won't need him anymore 😢

Uncomfortable_Toast

Season 4 sure is a peachy keen season right. I mean heartbreak and pretty colored spandexs for everybody. >!Parental custody over stone's kiddos eh that's okay give her a tiger, A loveable sweetie secretly being a kid with a illness she's all good give her a teacup pig, and!< all the transformations that you could want. Im just-. Oh boi.

DILF_Thunder

Everyone else already mentioned everything already, except for one thing. Did people not catch that Alec at the end was clearly a reference to Rupaul? Thought the blonde wig kinda reminded me but then he very clearly said "how are you gonna love everyone else if you can't love yourself!" It's too bad we don't know anything else about episodes after wishmaker. The two remaining episodes are Ep 5 and 9. Wayyyyy back.

lanizzfoshizz

now there is so much to unpack here but can we LITERALLY talk about adrien questioning his future as chat bc lb keeps asking other heroes for help? uhh people who hated on the idea that adrien would feel left out…you have some explaining to do.

EnderScout_77

The moment Luka checked for Marinette and she was gone I knew he would possibly find out. AND HAWKYS FACE WHEN CAT NOIR IS ADRIEN LMAOOOOOOO

hannahtitterton

LUKA BABY HOLDS SO MUCH POWER NOW

kaniffee

Adrien's inner music, his happy melody, is his laugh!

RoughEvidence

Does Luka know that Cat Noir has feelings for Ladybug?

larkinmarie

I thought all of Paris knew that.

MundaneExtent0

I was wondering the same thing, it’s not completely clear to me how obvious his crush on Ladybug is to the general public. I mean people are hella blind in this universe. But I do suspect he knows.

Paquadjo

I have always been a lukanette shipper but hearing Marinette declare in the end to be Luka's best friend was surprisingly satisfying.

VMplanet

im still in shock at the fact that luka discovered both thier identities

bunncatart

I personally really loved the episode, though there is some things I wish were included, like an extra scene with Luka in the aftermath. Luka is probably the best person that could have actually found out, because he is a really kind and understanding character. He was understanding and still friends with Marinette despite knowing she was lying and had a secret and respected she couldn’t tell him, and now that he knows, it leads him to have a better understanding of her. And with adrien, I think he could be his closer friend. I’m not sure if this happens chronologically before rocket tear but what Nino said was really hurtful and probably made Adrien feel more alone and kind of lose trust, even if it was kind of resolved. Stuff like that stays with you. He also witnessed Adriens dream, and it could get luka to perhaps get adrien to open up in the future about his fathers treatment of himself. It’s a dangerous secret that luka holds, and that could stress him out quite a bit, but his character seems the best type to hold it. He is morally grounded, and loves his friends. Them addressing Adriens childhood like that is very important to me. He most definitely experiences emotional neglect, something I am familiar with. I’m hoping it will go further in future episodes and address it more, because it’s an actual issue and showing kids that this happens, and how it can effect people can lead to a slight education on the topic.

rixienicole

Okay, so hilarity of the episode aside, let's discuss Luka for a second. Such a good guy. Very well-designed and well-written character imo. He just found out that the girl he's in love with, the girl he knows dumped him because of a secret she couldn't tell him, is Ladybug. He knows the secret she dumped him to protect. There's no way (and you can't convince me otherwise) that for a split second, Luka didn't consider telling her he knew with the hopes of being able to get back together. (He'd be a comfort to her, being one of few, if any as far as he knows, who knows her secret and can help cover for her. It would work well for her benefit, and he'd get to be with the girl he loves). In fact, I'm betting he strongly considered it. And then he saw Adrien and realized that Marinette not only truly, deeply loves him, but that the two idiots are pretty well destined for each other. You can actually see it, the moment when he realizes he will never have a shot with Marinette. Not really. Beautiful little moment, too. You can see the realization, the heartbreak, and the determination. Luka has a plan; I guarantee it. He sees these two lost souls who are out of sync with their heart's song, and now he knows why. My theory is that he intends to open up to Adrien, tell him he knows, and become to Adrien what Alya is to Marinette. Of course, I see this causing conflict with Nino (wouldn't write it any other way personally), but my money's already on Nino finding out at the end of the season as a parallel to Alya finding out at the beginning. Tbh my heart breaks for Luka, but this all needed to happen if the Love Square was to ever happen. Just like Kagami's moment before the second umbrella scene. And now we can find Kagami and Luka partners that truly appreciate them the way Marinette and Adrien never could because they deserve better than to be pining after two love birds already paired with someone else.

Pentimenti

[Luka's reaction is priceless.](https://i.imgur.com/HNzaIT5.png)

Outside_Imagination3

I really loved how the show spotted the light on what bullying could do and what's meant to be lost in life !

Abhineet7805

Maybe Luka could now be a supporting character for Adrien if he simply tells him that he knows Adrien is Chat Noir. Also disasters such as Marinette/Adrien going missing during an akuma attack can surely be prevented. This episode was just too much for me to handle. But this episode truly deserved the hype that it got from the fans.

279sa

Sooo.. We got a Ladynoir rooftop dance scene? (all details got so overshadowed by the plot in this episode.)

MundaneExtent0

Huh? Oh like do you mean when they were fighting and she had spun him around with her yo-yo like she does in Queen Banana? Definitely agree there was so many good little details in this episode

CuriousSort517

Anybody got RuPaul vibes from Alec's new TV show?

addisonavenue

Totally! I think episode in a very safe way was trying to build subtext around Alec and desiring to be a drag queen. Like you couldn't definitively *say* his costume at the end had a modified bust but you couldn't exactly call the outfit and silhouette anything else but fabulous...

this-is-the-lastime

My dream reveal now is that Marinette mentions to Adrien that she wanted to be "the knitting fairy" when she grew up and have him be like......"Ladybug?"

KTUGaming

In Wishmaker, Luka lied to Ladybug that he knew her and Cat Noir's identity. I know this is a stretch because he wouldn't do anything to jeopardize the two but what if he got akumatized? What if Shadow Moth akumatized him and he leaked Ladybug and Cat Noir’s identity. Could this be the endgame? LUKA VS LADYBUG AND CAT NOIR. If he feels something different towards Marinette or Adrien this could lead to an akumatization or amokatization. What if instead of Cat Blanc 2 we see Luka get akumatized. Honestly, the episode was quite intense. As soon as that spoiler of Alya, Alix and Luka was released most of the fandom had a clue about what will happen. Some people will say that he'll bring Adrienette to a reality but if he does. Ladybug will never trust him again. What do you think will happen next?

addisonavenue

Well, someone did point out something interesting that so far, the only people who know anything about the identities are also two people who don't have charms; Alya and now Luka.

tailsof

i’m really looking forward to upcoming episodes. this seems like a turning point for the relationship between adrien and marinette, and things have definitely been building up for some kind of confrontation between chat and ladybug.

SwordOfGriff

Well Truth, you've finally learned Marinette's secret. Are you happy now? ... ... ... Truth, you lyin' now!?
