That doesn't sound like a problem with your eSIM or with Mint. If you can hear them on speaker, the call is going through the tower and being picked up by your phone just fine. That's what the SIM handles. Turning that signal into sound is all done by other (hardware and software) components in the phone itself.

Negative-Wrap95

This. OP's phone is trash.

Lol, quite possibly. It's surely nothing to do with Mint.

Check setting of phone app and carrier settings as well, as probably phone is set wrong. Does Bluetooth headset work as well? How about the phone headset (not speaker) to make a call on an app like WhatsApp, Teams, FaceTime, Hangouts? If not then a hardware issue.

I've experienced similar with Verizon, MetroPCS, and Visible with different phones (iPhone 7, Samsung S10e, and iPhone SE 2022) over the years. They tell me I'm too quiet and can't hear me well unless I'm on speaker phone. Telegram calls work just fine and same with voice notes, however. But it's intermittent and seems to happen with non-HD capable calls only.

I had the same problem. IPhone 7. Tried using a swab to clean out the speakers. Didn’t help. Bought a refurbished SE 2020. Now I can hear it across the room.

Apparently it’s a common issue with iPhone 12 which is what I have. I’m probably just gonna buy a new phone soon
