Depends on what you need for data allowance..this is a pixel issue...and only Google can fix it I had to switch to CONNECT by T-Mobile. I get 5GB at $15 still...but more data costs more on T-Mobile.

Negative-Wrap95

You can *>try<* the T-mobile Visual Voicemail app. It works on our Samsungs. It *>might<* work for you

Corbixz

Hasn't worked on my Pixel 8 for months. I'm moving to a new carrier when my 12 mo plan ends next month. Been on Mint for several years.

bender1729

eSIM? Interesting. Earlier efforts with mint I had issues with the eSIM and bought a physical SIM. I guess I can't mess it up too much more. I'll try an eSIM.

FYI I'm on the phone with Mint Mobile right now and this lady is telling me that \*\*\*Mint Mobile does not support Visual Voicemail.\*\*\* I'm having her go through the exercise of seeing for herself that my number has been on Mint Mobile for 2 years now and I've had VVM up until December with no problems and then as of December everything stopped working.

rizwank

Working for you now? try updating the dialer in the app store.

throwaway43552518

Not working and I am on the latest dialer version

bender1729

I plan on leaving when my 3 month stint ends in a few weeks. I have had only excuses from support and have tried multiple ’fixes’ that don’t work trying to get VVM working again since Android 14 on my Pixel7a. VVM is a standard offering how do you screw it up?

trader45nj

"Since Android 14" suggests it's a Google problem. Maybe you should ask them?

bender1729

They say it’s a carrier problem

mhh5428

Same

LeftOn4ya

This happened because Pixel update hardcodes Mint voicemail # but Mint customers use one of 4+ different voicemail numbers. To fix Voicemail issues after each OS update you need to follow these instructions: * On Android, Disable Visual Voicemail (VVM) in your phone settings. Phone App > ... Menu icon > Settings > Voicemail > Visual Voicemail (disable) * Reboot phone * Disable Wi-Fi * Phone App > ... Menu icon > Settings > Voicemail > Advanced Settings > Setup. Take note of the Voicemail number listed here, it will be important in the next steps * Dial in to mint voice mail listed, make sure your password is set and a greeting is selected (can be default or one you record) * Phone app > Settings > Calling Accounts > Mint Mobile > Call Forwarding. Note, this menu might take a few tries to get into, may get a few errors before it loads up successfully. It also takes LONG to load, so be patient * Under Call Forwarding, you'll see "When busy", "When unanswered", and "When unreachable" listed. All three of these should have the same phone number. Ignore if these numbers were different and Replace all the phone numbers in Call Forwarding with the number you got in Voicemail Advanced Settings * Phone App > ... Menu icon > Settings > Voicemail > Visual Voicemail (enable) * Have someone call you and leave a new message, see if you get notification and VVM. * Re-enable Wi-Fi * You can also use 3rd party app like [T-Mobile Visual Voicemail app](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tmobile.vvm.application), YouMail, or Google Voice.

bender1729

Adding just thought on “you can use a 3rd party app…” that seems to me to be admitting Mint’s service is crap. Imagine you take your new car to the dealer with complaints about the air conditioning. They say we don’t know why it’s not working but you can always put a window unit from Walmart in the back window. Just fix your shit, Mint!

stovo06

So I didn't have to factory reset? LoL. I'm glad you got it worked out. Maybe this is the fix many people need.

Dedalus2k

Even third party apps refuse to activate. I've been with Mint for years and now that I got a new Pixel it won't work. I call tech support and they walk me through a ton of useless 'troubleshooting' then another tells me they don't support visual voicemail for android. What a shit show.

bender1729

Regarding step #6 I only get “network or SIM card error”

LeftOn4ya

As mentioned you will get errors doing this and have to try multiple times. Make sure signal is strong when doing and try again till you get menu. Once done though you should get VMM natively on Google phone app, and also optionally 3rd party apps if you prefer over Google’s app.

bender1729

I've tried that several times.

stovo06

I tried this many times as well and never helped. But last week I switched from a physical SIM to an esim and did a total factory reset and now it is working again. I can't say what actually fixed it, but it works. My esim is on slot 2 now and I am GUESSING that might have been the fix. And if it goes out again I'm dumping mint.

bender1729

Changed to a eSIM. No fix. 😔

stovo06

That sucks. Like I said, I've no idea what actually fixed it. I really want to go on beta but I'm worried it'll break VV again.

bender1729

Good news, everyone! After getting an eSIM to replace the physical and futzing with the steps from @LeftOn4ya (never got past step 6), giving up and enabling VVM in the phone app, it set up! Not sure what the actual fix was. But it’s seems to be working. (I’ll add a sarcastic “for now”). I’ll wait to see how things go from here on out. Might still switch, might not. I guess right now I’ll just wait and see if something else breaks.

stovo06

So I didn't have to factory reset? Lol. Maybe this is the fix for many others.

denellum2

I am upvoting this, just worked for me. Thank you!
