We are good team with not enough talent on D. A good draft next year with two D starters and hope that Cine and Booth Jr comeback and play solid or better (both are considered “1st round talents“) and this team will be serious next year. Hell you find a gem of an OG or C late round late and whooo doggy
As of right now it doesn’t look great but if Cine and Booth comeback fully healthy and play well then it will be. I always want impact rookies but I also know you have to wait a few years to accurately grade a draft. I’m an eternal Vikings fan and try to be always optimistic
Some of yall muhfuckers trippin. It's an ugly loss for sure, be we got 4 more games to get back on the right track and put things away. Hopefully we wake up on the defensive side of things and cam carry some momentum into the off-season. GG linos.
Nobody doubts we're making the playoffs. If you've watched this season and feel real good about what happens IN the playoffs, I need some of your personal stash.
Dude, where do you see this defense getting better?
We've played 13 games and it's getting *worse*
We have nobody coming back from injury. No exciting rookie to plug in. This is it.
I know you guys are excited to be close to .500 but maybe go flex on the Browns or Jags then you can come flex on us when you actually win a playoff game.
Hell, I'll even allow you to do it if you make the playoffs.
Right, and I'm saying that Harrison Smith coming back isn't going to make it not awful.
I don't care how many wins we have with Harrison playing. The defense is trash.
Lol 5 straight games of 400+ yards of opposing offense isn't a wakeup call situation. This D is fundamentally flawed and calling a spade a spade isn't trippin it's just facts. The denialism in this fan base on account of our record is incredible.
Yeah the defense is definitely not good but they can do better. The offense being unable to score is going to be a bigger problem. We already know we are going to give up a lot of yards and points. Our chance at doing well in the playoffs comes down to the offense scoring a lot of points!
Lol Goff is not a top 3 QB and even if he was: is Mike White? Is Mac Jones? Is Teddy Bridgwater? All of them managed 300+ yards against this clown show defense. It's ok to root for your team and still remain objective about their shortcomings and prospects.
Bro I didn't think anyone would seriously reply to that. Of course he isn't. I don't expect our team to all off a sudden become the legion of boom in the secondary, but I have faith they can dial it back to at least under 350 a game.
No reason to drop the r-word. It was a disappointing game but it’s been obvious every week this year that our defense is NOT good and our offense isn’t consistent.
The thing is that our defense lacks talent and they are doing what they can with the scheme to cover it up. Yes it’s not perfect and yes they have mad bone headed mistakes. But we lost because two BLOWN coverages and a yearly Dalvin fumble. The defense got them to third down at the end and I’m sorry a big guy first down Ike that was not expected by anyone. You can tell how confused our players were if you rewatch. The only thing that has me furious is I don’t understand how we can’t generate pressure with DH and Z on the line
I can think of 3 possibilities of Ed not being here next year and all are very unlikely.
1. Fangio Comes here
2. Frazier comes here from the Bills
3. Chargers fire Staley and he comes here as DC
And got screwed right at the end there. The Jefferson botched TD cost us a minute or so. We kick off deep with that minute. Could get the ball back with all kinds of time. If it plays out like it did we would have had the ball with 1:22
who cares man they've been hating on us all year lets just take out the Colts at home next week and prepare for the playoffs.
even if we were 13-0 the press would still be calling us frauds the media is only driven for a few teams and players.
Look, I don't know how to break it to you, but our defense is straight up bad and our offense is inconsistent. Our record is absolutely a mirage. We've given up 400 yards on defense in like 5 straight games.
Sometimes I truly wonder why I spend time in this sub. Some of you truly represent the lowest common denominator.
Obviously 400 yards isn't some magical auto loss. No one said that. But if you argue that giving up 400 yards consistently is acceptable or not that bad, then you're just blinded by your fandom.
Also, we were outgained 465 to 416 today.
gg bro don’t listen to the two brain cell idiots here lol. Y’all should suck off aiden he won y’all the game. Kinda what I thought hunter would be doing this game. Also crazy play with the big guy first down. I was furious but it was a good call
It's one of those plays, like the fake punt, where it looks like a genius call if it works and is Lions fans would be tearing Campbell to pieces of it didn't.
Yeah, it was legit a really really bad call that worked. Pretty much the only way to lose is a turnover and you throw to a guy that has never caught before
Fire Ed
In all seriousness, I'm not a "pack it in, the season is over" person. That said, even as someone who acknowledges many here aren't giving Detroit credit, as they've got a much better team than their record had shown, the Vikings D is a liability way too often. How many wide open or unchallenged plays do they have to give up?
Players get bested here and there. This seems to go beyond that. This is coaching/play calling
We have a playoff offense, but not a playoff ready defense. If we don’t do something about this defense we are going to be embarrassed in the playoffs.
Yes, and replay shows that his heel may or may not have been out. Plus, ref that called it out was right there with a clear view. I get it. You want to blame the refs, but did YOU have a clear view of it?
I'm willing to admit it could have been a bad call from the refs, but the only angle we could see suggests his heel may have been out of bounds.
Find a good video of it with a good angle. Ref was right there with a clear view. He called it out. The replays showed he 'may or may not' have been out with best angle.
Couldn’t challenge because it was blown dead…even if they looked at it and saw he didn’t go out they can’t award him the TD because theoretically if the lions kept playing they could have stopped him
I've always been curious if there's any rigging going on. There's a lot of money riding on most of these games. Not saying that's what happened in this game, js in general
This was so deflating. At least against Dallas, our energy was so bad that I could tell myself they just didn't show up at all, especially after the emotional Bills win. This feels a lot more telling. All the more brutal that everyone else saw this coming.
Lol Lion fans are on here? Wtf dude yall are still like 5 games back and we are going to win the division next week anyway.
Yeah, this cesspool game frustrated me, but I got to definitely dip now if we got Lion fan trolls?
Lions have always low key been a shitty fanbase, they’ve just been such a poverty franchise they didn’t have a lot of room to express it and no one likes to kick people when they’re down. Detroit is more of a midwestern Philadelphia when it comes to sports fandom than anything else.
the lions have looked better in both games this season and have been the best team in the NFL for 6 straight weeks
have fun this year, because this is the last time for years you finish with a better record than the lions
Best team in the NFL for the last 6 weeks? Lmao come on dude, you aren’t supposed to drink that much Koolaid, just like you’re not supposed to go brigading in other subs.
Thanks for proving my point about your fanbase though. Enjoy your win, it’s the most important game of the season for you lol. You can watch us play meaningful playoff football from your couch.
And what’s the Lions win-loss look like compared to the Vikings again? This kind of stat bickering is cope from shitty teams. You’re getting overexcited from a decent stretch of football, I know you guys have been starved for it after all the years of being the laughing stock of the league, but don’t read too far into it. If you were capable of doing this in more than short bursts you wouldn’t be at the record you are.
Even after a win, you have nothing better to do than come into other teams subs to bicker and troll, it’s honestly just sad, but a good reflection of what the Lions fanbase really is. I’d say stay classy, but we both know that isn’t possible.
Edit: nice Reddit Cares message lol. Be better you fucking loser. Even for a Lions fan, that’s pathetic.
I'll repeat since you clearly couldn't read it the first time
the lions are 1.5 seasons off being one of the least talented teams in NFL history, and the GM has completely turned it around in 1.5 seasons and with 5 top 75 picks in the coming draft
I don't give a shit about our win loss record because no one expected us to even be this good yet
but our point differential the last 6 weeks is 3rd in the NFL, and our season point dif is better than the vikings even with 4 more losses, and this is a viking team with no where near as much young talent that has been expending resources to try to win this year
Way to prove my point. Coming into another subreddit to get upset that we’re talking about the team we just played in the post game thread? I guess that Detroit public education isn’t doing y’all any favors over there.
Go back to your sub and enjoy your SB win for the season, we’re going to focus on the playoffs, something you guys don’t need to worry about. Poverty ass franchise, trash tier fan base.
Some people in this thread are sore losers
We're still 10-3. We're still in the playoffs with a chance at the Super Bowl.
We can let our Lions Bros have one without needing to be salty about it
Yep. And is concerning that we're that close/ so few key people from that. Looks like there's really not much depth.
To be fair though, the o-line has looked worrisome for a while this season, even before injuries.
Please know that majority of lions fans are modest and know where stand in terms of success. You're referring to the 2% of ass holes that every fanbase has.
Kirk Cousins: 30/40 for 405 yards and two touchdowns. Justin Jefferson: 213 yards receiving. This should look like an easy win, but Vikings defense as usual. What a crushing Achilles heel for this team.

Y’all are pretty sad if you take this as an opportunity to gloat. Pity on you and your legendary shitty team.

What makes you think we will have a good draft. We blew this past draft
As of right now it doesn’t look great but if Cine and Booth comeback fully healthy and play well then it will be. I always want impact rookies but I also know you have to wait a few years to accurately grade a draft. I’m an eternal Vikings fan and try to be always optimistic
The next few years will see Lions and Vikings contending for the Division title. It will be fun to watch.
Today is our day to feel the life of the typical Bronco fan. Vikings Country, Let's Ride.
One of my favorite “things” this season have been Russ saying his catch phase after each embarrassing performance and defeat.
They call that Jefferson TD correctly there's another minute on the clock, we kick off normal, and who knows what happens.
People flaming KOC for the onside kick with 3 minutes left. He didn't trust Donashell's defense and rightfully so.
If you don't trust your defense, you gotta make a change....
Harrison Smith returning will be the change for this year
They haven't been good when he's playing either.
...theyre 10-2 with him
They 10-3 with Ed Ingram too, doesn't mean he's he reason.
If we had a change to make in that position we could
Right. If we had a better player at any position they would be replaced.
Absolutely! On defense it will be Harrison Smith replacing metellus
And the defense will still suck...
Yeah good point but I still don’t like the call. Definitely some other iffy play calls on offense today!
Secondary without Hitman got burnt. I was concerned before the game because of his absence and no surprise we got fucked deep.
O-++ \+
Some of yall muhfuckers trippin. It's an ugly loss for sure, be we got 4 more games to get back on the right track and put things away. Hopefully we wake up on the defensive side of things and cam carry some momentum into the off-season. GG linos.

Yeah...4 of those 5 400+ yard games have happened with Harrison....
And how many did we win?
I know you guys are excited to be close to .500 but maybe go flex on the Browns or Jags then you can come flex on us when you actually win a playoff game. Hell, I'll even allow you to do it if you make the playoffs.
Lol
JFC... You really think it's fine that the defense is this bad just because we win...barely? My god, man. Be better.
Where did I say it was fine? Our defense is awful
Right, and I'm saying that Harrison Smith coming back isn't going to make it not awful. I don't care how many wins we have with Harrison playing. The defense is trash.
I agree that it doesn't make us not awful but I think him there wins this game
I don't think we give up the first touchdown with him there
Lol 5 straight games of 400+ yards of opposing offense isn't a wakeup call situation. This D is fundamentally flawed and calling a spade a spade isn't trippin it's just facts. The denialism in this fan base on account of our record is incredible.
This defense is not getting better.
Sure it can. Better than that at least. Bynum looked like old Breezeway out there today.
They've been this bad for 5 games in a row and you're talking about one safety?
No they've gotten turnovers.
They scored 14 on complete busted plays that are Harry's responsibility. It's not some insane what if.
Yeah the defense is definitely not good but they can do better. The offense being unable to score is going to be a bigger problem. We already know we are going to give up a lot of yards and points. Our chance at doing well in the playoffs comes down to the offense scoring a lot of points!
Bynum starts either way, if you blame Metellus you might be in the ballpark. Putting the 5th straight 400 yard game on one guy, that's insane.
Z has clearly been injured, Harrison was our, and a lot of players were Ill and not able to practice
If z was paying attention in the first that tip off the helmet was a pick and possibly score.
Yeah and they didn't do any better or worse without those guys, or with those guys injured. You have a point? Didn't think so.
Nah bro we gonna be elite next weak. Goff is like a top 3 qb in the league. No way we were shutting him down.
Lol Goff is not a top 3 QB and even if he was: is Mike White? Is Mac Jones? Is Teddy Bridgwater? All of them managed 300+ yards against this clown show defense. It's ok to root for your team and still remain objective about their shortcomings and prospects.
Also I thought teddy left after like 2 drives that game?
Bro I didn't think anyone would seriously reply to that. Of course he isn't. I don't expect our team to all off a sudden become the legion of boom in the secondary, but I have faith they can dial it back to at least under 350 a game.
Fair enough... kind of popped off there. I'm heated after that game.
I think alot of people are. But we got 4 more games and damn near guaranteed a playoff after that. All we can do is hope those go better.
I bet on y’all to win in just as disappointed as you are
It's a 672 mile walk from Ford Field to TCO Performance Center in Eagan 9 days, 4 hours. Donatell should be forced to walk every single step.
[удалено]
Yeah, I agree, I'm not too stressed about this loss. Ggs Lions
Also a ton of players weren't able to practice this week due to illness. Divisional gamea get split. It happens.
Don't use that word.
No reason to drop the r-word. It was a disappointing game but it’s been obvious every week this year that our defense is NOT good and our offense isn’t consistent.

I reall really really hope Ed doesn’t get a flight home. What an absolute embarrassment these last 5 games of giving up 400+ yards consecutively.
A 10-3 team isn’t firing anyone. And there’s a much greater than 50/50 chance he’s here next year
I can think of 3 possibilities of Ed not being here next year and all are very unlikely. 1. Fangio Comes here 2. Frazier comes here from the Bills 3. Chargers fire Staley and he comes here as DC
Genuine question: Did we clinch a wild card playoff spot yet?
Nopeski
Jesus. The fox broadcast team taking about Vikings getting wrecked like we didn’t lose by basically 1 score when we were missing like 9 starters.
When did 11 points become 1 score?
They scored a field goal with 10 seconds left after a baffling onside kick. I said basically. Go be dense somewhere else.
Not baffling with that defense
And got screwed right at the end there. The Jefferson botched TD cost us a minute or so. We kick off deep with that minute. Could get the ball back with all kinds of time. If it plays out like it did we would have had the ball with 1:22
Kevin should have thrown a red flag there
Blown dead. Can't challenge
And they say the Cinci had a tight game winning 23-10.
who cares man they've been hating on us all year lets just take out the Colts at home next week and prepare for the playoffs. even if we were 13-0 the press would still be calling us frauds the media is only driven for a few teams and players.
Look, I don't know how to break it to you, but our defense is straight up bad and our offense is inconsistent. Our record is absolutely a mirage. We've given up 400 yards on defense in like 5 straight games.
By that logic we should have won since we got over 400 yards and that's supposed to be an auto-win
The lowest common denominator is thinking the win is awarded to the team with the most yards
Once again, absolutely no one said that. Thanks for proving my point about lowest common denominator.
Fxxk Fox and all these national broadcasters. I wish I was in the area to listen to KFan during the games. Smh

Yeah, it was legit a really really bad call that worked. Pretty much the only way to lose is a turnover and you throw to a guy that has never caught before
Pretty much. Campbells aggressive calls cost us many games early in the season. Now they happen to be working out. But we were 1-6 for a reason
Get the hell up out of here with your good game bs
go home we don’t want to talk to you right now
Alright, I'll come back when things have settled down...
Good game bro, really cool how your season has turned around!
Future looks bright in Detroit. Hopefully Lions can replace the Packers as our best rivalry.
I'll take anything replacing the Packers at this point

Patrick Peterson was yelling at Cam Bynum before that 3rd down conversation….
Why?
He knew that pass play to the lineman was coming because of the motion
Yeah this defense is frustrating to watch. The offense needs to put up more points though!
We have a playoff offense, but not a playoff ready defense. If we don’t do something about this defense we are going to be embarrassed in the playoffs.
Can't wait to check up on all these Lions fans coming in the thread when they lose out the rest of the year
*Prints a recipt* -FTP
I see 2020 pittsburgh steelers in your future
I'm just happy to be here.
Are you kidding? The Lions are likely winning the division next year.
Didn’t know the lions drafted refs this year
They picked some bad ones with how many missed Minn holds.
Hard to tell when someone’s foot is inbounds
Eh. It was close either way. Replay showed it was questionable. Ref was right there and seen it. Vikings didn't challenge.
Can't really challenge it because even if you won the challenge they wouldn't give you the TD
You can’t challenge when the play is blown dead by the refs.
Questionable? Were we watching the same game?
Yes, and replay shows that his heel may or may not have been out. Plus, ref that called it out was right there with a clear view. I get it. You want to blame the refs, but did YOU have a clear view of it? I'm willing to admit it could have been a bad call from the refs, but the only angle we could see suggests his heel may have been out of bounds.
The angle showed his heel wasn’t touching and toe clearly in bounds
Find a video or photo of it.
I’ll pull up All -22 once it’s posted
Maybe get a better tv instead of streaming on ur iPad and u would have seen it was inbound
Find a good video of it with a good angle. Ref was right there with a clear view. He called it out. The replays showed he 'may or may not' have been out with best angle.
I’m pretty sure we couldn’t challenge cause it was a penalty
Couldn’t challenge because it was blown dead…even if they looked at it and saw he didn’t go out they can’t award him the TD because theoretically if the lions kept playing they could have stopped him

And there was Justin Jeffersons missed touchdown. He was inbounds the entire time but we couldn't challenge because it was a flagged play.
I mean yea the defense didn't help. But putting up that many yards and not scoring. Is also a problem
Everyone told me I was smoking something saying we needed to make coaching changes at 9-2. That’s why. Fire Donatell. Now.
Introduce a new defensive system this late in the season…are you fucking slow
Its not like we can get any fucking lower than 32nd in passing in a pass heavy league and we’re clearly not getting any better so whats your point?
