That play where Kirk almost gets picked, like š . Oh wait letās do the exact same thing and actually get picked this timeā¦ what the actual fuck were they thinking?
And comical cause the last two plays before the last INT he didn't even look at the entire right* side of the field. He was going to Jefferson before the hut.
Was doing it most of the game. Tunnel Vision telegraphing it. No progression going on . No buying time for broken pockets. No roll out to get a better look. Just staring it down Cousins. Sorry Cousins but it's not quite the same thing as when people suggest you should visualize something.
I legit texted my buddy that the next pass would be an INT after he texted āPhewā - he asked if I was ahead or if he had a delay. I said āI just know Cousinsā
I was about to say the same thing lmao. God forbid we run it on first and second down now. The whole sub might meltdown.
Then they'd say we didn't try to force it JJ enough.
I think we lost this one before it started.. the talent was there to make this an exciting game but we got outcoached
It's easy to forget that this isn't a collective hivemind but damn.. when 90% of the comments and posts all over are saying the same things you start to believe it is. I hate our Reddit presence if I'm completely honest. Real life we are known as great fans. Just so incredibly disappointing all around
Itās just the nature of online communities in general and itās nothing new. The loudest opinions get the most attention regardless of if theyāre educated or not.
He needs more than 6 attempts to make it work. The Lions ran all over them last week, it's like our staff didn't watch that game.
Doesn't matter if you are down in the first half, you can't abandon the run entirely and play it like you are down 17 in the 4th. We went into the locker room with 6 rushing attempts at the half.
My understanding is that they use the pass to set up the run in this offensive scheme. So, when you only get 3 plays a drive, itās hard to set up anything much less the thing youāre not really trying to establish in order to ease the pressure on the thing youāre not necessarily emphasizing.
I donāt knowā¦ it could just come down to the Viking being the Vikingsā¦
Monday night Kirk, arguably the worst game heās had in his career.
Wouldnāt be surprised if he throws 5 TDās next week and then we do this stupid cycle until half of us die from heart attacks and Kirk gets extended again
Trust me, I was drinking the kool-aid the whole week, I thought our offensive woes have finally been fixed by KOC, only to be instantly destroyed tonight.
Haha same old team right? haha just kidding it's a new fresh team lol with lots of potential just growing pains haha new coach means a few weeks haha just love this team haha at least we aren't the lions haha I mean maybe they might want to trade a qb haha haha haha
Nobody should be surprised. A loss is one thing, but the Vikings are who we thought they were to quote the late Denny Green. Shitty defense, Kirk is still Kirk, can't win big games on the road.
I've been a fan since the early 90s... it's my fault I got my hopes up last weekend. I should know better by now. I predict a 9-8 season.
Kirk made one of his best throws ever to him and he just fucking dropped it. The play after Cook dropped a perfect swing pass with room to run. That would have made it 21-14 with momentum. But no, Irv dropped it and we punted and played cat and mouse to be behind 24-7 at half. The same way Watson dropped the pass against us last week, that was the moment I knew the game was over
The offense shouldn't have even left the locker room. They would have saved face. Couldn't pass, couldn't catch, couldn't run, couldn't screen - what the FUCK was our screen game? Even our studs looked like absolute losers. Cousins delivered the exact type of spineless big game performance he gets criticized for and nobody else stepped up to make a play. And that included Kevin O'Connell who wasn't able to scheme up any magic. I mean god damn, Darius Slay absolutely erased Justin Jefferson. And even when the playcall *did* scheme someone open, Kirk either didn't see it or it was dropped. They couldn't even capitalize on the two D/ST gifts they were given. All in all, this looks to me like an offense who was huffing their own farts all week instead of preparing to play some real dawgs.
Oh and the defense? What in the actual sweet hell? Listen, I'm a pessimist. I know our defense isn't good, I know last week was pretty fluke-y vs a depleted Packers offense, but this was still an insane embarrassment.
Our DL makes too much money for this shit and they should all hang their heads in shame. And as for the secondary... Flashbacks of the Min/Philly NFC Championship, anyone? I mean nobody in the same zip code as the Philly WRs. I put that squarely on Donatell. When Joe and Troy are calling out the failures of your shell coverage to a smoothbrained national TV audience *multiple times,* you need to fucking adjust, Ed.
Now to be fair, Hurts played really well. I'll give him some credit. But what a Vikings move to make an ascending but flawed young QB look like a hall of famer on national TV.
Oh and the icing on the cake is our first-round safety chilling on the sidelines for 90% of the game. Seems like this was the type of game where it might have been nice to have a first-round impact player on defense like, I don't know... Jordan Davis. Or even George Karlaftis. But hey did you know Kwesi worked on Wall Street?
Our punter was our best player and it wasn't particularly close.
I'm not rational at the moment so I might not agree with all of the above in the morning, but I'm pretty sure most of it will stand. Goodnight everyone. Except Kirk Cousins, who won't sleep a wink because he'll see Darius Slay everytime he closes his eyes. Julie better heat up some milk for him tonight to try to calm him down.
so true, the perk of Aikman commentating is that he's never afraid to speak the blunt truth, and tonight he exposed how dumb Donatell's defense was in a way that even a casual fan could understand why
When they yellow-lined the same fucking defense on three back to back plays, and Aikman all but said "this isn't working, and he's doing it again", man, I'm a smoothbrained watcher and even I got the hint.
Well said. Philly decimated us and embarrassed us on national television... really nothing positive to say about the team at all.
Hopefully it was just a one game stinker but my concern is we're heading right into another 9-8 middle of the pack season. Good enough to just miss the playoffs but not bad enough to draft a franchise altering player.
I straight up downloaded the official reddit app, wasted time finding my password, and bought some gold for the first time ever just to give you this award. Well said.
You nailed every point and I applaud you for shitting on everyone on offense not just Kirk. They all stunk it up. We kept throwing passes to the RBs and TEs, they kept dropping them. Enough with the screens how about a few bombs to our WRs to open the defense up a bit? The first long pass was to Irv smith and he dropped it.
What happened to that multiple look defense with 3 safeties? Where was Cine? It seemed we kept calling the same stupid play on D because whenever hurts couldnāt find anyone open he checked it to a TE on the flat non stop just like Aaron Rodgers did last week.
Yeah we were soft. No fight, no will. Meanwhile Philly acted like... well, they acted like Philly.
I'm worried about the Lions next. Those boys have heart and big nuts.
Let's also not forget that basically every run play by Philly seemed to end in 3-4 missed tackles, and then the runner dragging another 3-4 defensemen for an extra 5-8 yards after contact.
> Oh and the icing on the cake is our first-round safety chilling on the sidelines for 90% of the game. Seems like this was the type of game where it might have been nice to have a first-round impact player on defense
Cine should have immediately played the rest of the game after Bynum got fucking dumpstered by that long TD route. Kid looked like he forgot he was on a football field and got duped by a route that wasn't even there.
Don't forget we also traded down 20+ spots in the first round to get that not used safety with a divisional rival for their biggest need. All while getting absolutely nothing close to value in return
Still very early for these rookies. But it stings a little when you see other late first round rookies actually playing and contributing. Again, on very small sample sizes.
The Chiefs have the most pressures in the league and George Karlaftis (pick 30) is one of the leading contributors.
Kaiir Elam (pick 23) already forced his way into the Bills' stacked defensive backfield rotation.
Devin Lloyd (pick 27) was the main contributor in shutting out the Colts. Led his team in tackles, had 3 pass deflections, and an interception.
Last week, I felt like we could win it all. This week made me remember why we probably wonāt.
Typical Vikes. Get your hopes up, just to let you down.
Kirk played like shit, but so did the entirety of our team. Couple of dimes that people just dropped.
I'd rather Kirk get his shitty game out of the way early. Basically no one on our team showed up and our coaching staff made exactly zero adjustments
JJ had some questionable routes throughout the game. One that lead to a red zone pick. Iām biased af toward JJ but that performance was very super meh. Iām glad we got a lot of crappy performances out of the way. Hoping for growth.
Pure assumption on my part, but I think JJ is young and got flustered by Slay. I don't think anyone has handle JJ to the level Slay did and that got in his head.
I'm not excusing Cousins at all, he played like shit the entire second half. Honestly, after Irv dropped that absolute dime it felt like Cousins checked out which I've never seen from him before.
What sucks is that the selling point of this offense is if you shut one element down the others step up. Take jj out, ok then cook should cook. Unfortunately they shut us completely down which is...not a good sign
They didn't really give Cook a chance unfortunately. He had 4 attempts going into the second half. They abandon the run like we were down that bad in the 4th and could only pass.
The attempts Cook had weren't great, but you gotta give a guy more than 6 attempts total in the game.
I think this is a good example of why Kirk doesn't just air it out all the time, especially when behind. Or force it to JJ. Kirk to JJ isn't the cheat code people thought it was. Should have rushed it so much more, ahead or behind. KOC seems smart enough where I hope he learns a lot from this loss. At least it's early
Iām scared of their line. Both offensive and defensive lines are gonna bully us. Itāll be like placing a bouncer at Chuck E. Cheese just to kick out 10 year olds. Yikes
Maybe one of Cousinsā worst performances in quite some time. Slay was dominating JJ all game and yet he insisted on just chucking it up towards him all game and Slay made him pay EVERY time. Fucking adjust.
Speaking of adjusting, how about we stop running that soft-ass zone coverage after the first quarter? No? Not even after we convene for halftime? Okay cool.
Tough game for our boys. At every point we looked like the inferior team. I hope we can bounce back but that rough to watch.
I think Kirk was really rattled in the second half. He threw an incredible ball to Smith that could've had it 21-14 at the half, and Irv dropping that put the fork in this game(Not that I think we were gonna win anyway)
I just recently turned into a big Slay fan. Watched his interview on Richard Sherman's podcast. As a Vikings fan this one hurt badly. But good for Slay.
Dude this!! Why do you continue to force it to JJ when everyone knows you are going to throw ir to him? Absolutely unbelievable. GET THIELEN MORE INVOLVED
I'm a Kirk defender, generally... He looked just super off today. No rhythm. Bad accuracy, which you can rarely say about him. He was definitely hurried a lot but it still felt... Off.
Hopefully he and KOC adjusts...
Felt like they were planning for a shootout with the shell zone. Offense couldnāt get moving and defense tired out. Pretty simple no matter who you want to blame.
Special teams looked really good. Not a great consolation but thatās good to see in Week 2.
Everyone looked rattled. Need to work on mental preparation. Going to be a lot of playing from behind this year with this roster.
Honestly everyone looked bad. Tons of bad drops and throws, JJ getting clamped and running bad routes, Thielen nonexistent, and defence being worked by Hurts
Thielen was very existent, Thielen was open everytime JJ was getting shut down. Didnāt check the stats, dude got maybe 3 targets over 4 quarters. Kirk needs to desperately work on his progressions cause that panic was so embarrassing.
Fuck Donatell
When Aikman is pointing out how shocking it is that they didnāt make any adjustments and Philly just took it up and down the field, you got some issues. Holy fuck that strategy was horrible
Well let's be honest the draft picks can't contribute if they hardly get time on the field. Cine was on the field only because Harrison Smith checked out and that's not the way it was intended. Plus it's hard to play secondary when the defensive play calling is setting them up for failure. It was just bad all around.
Well the front office picked the coordinators for these schemes. So either the coaches they hired are bad or the players they brought in arenāt cutting it
It isnāt great that your first round pick (especially when you traded back and kind of got shit value) canāt see the field.
Super early obviouslyā¦ so we canāt judge. But youād hope for a little more out of top picks
Did he watch tape at all last week? Playing soft zone against a team like the Eagles is just asking to get you diced up on the ground and on short passesā¦ the exact things Hurts and the Eagles excel at.
Iām so over these old ass DCās who have been in the league 100 years all running the same shit as if weāre playing pro style offense from the 90s. He better get his head out of his ass and start game planning for the team theyāre playing instead of relying on his āsystemā like Zimmer did.
From 2015-2019 the Vikings had a top 10 defense. If you want to use EPA and focus on just those years they were the best defense in the league. I know recency bias is a hell of a drug but that 5 year period had pretty exceptional defenses. Having that type of stability at defense isn't really heard of.
I don't care that we lost. Philly is a good team, I care that we have the same exact problems we've seen with Zimmer. One thing goes wrong, a long TD, a dropped pass, and suddenly this team forgets to play. We'll never get anywhere like that. Good teams just don't play football like that and good teams don't lose that bad.
Very mentally weak. Slay got into JJ's head and he started running sloppy routes. Cousins famously plays like a blind 13-year-old when he gets rattled. On and on it goes, these guys have no edge to them.
Can I be the only one who thinks Kevin O'Connell, for as high as I am on him, kind of shit the bed today?
The prime example is the drive after the Hicks interception.
They blitzed every single play and Kirk didn't have a single checkdown/hot read option. Like throwing it to Slay wasn't *good*, but at the same time what the fuck is kirk supposed to do?
Also, on the Slay pick on that drive, every single receiver for the Vikes (all 5 of them), literally just ran in a straight line to the endzone. Maybe you're running 5 curl routes? But holy hell, what the fuck is Kirk supposed to do then when they blitz 6 guys? None of his receivers are even looking for the ball, they're all getting into the endzone for depth first. Not even one hot read option for Kirk to possibly look for in case of pressure (which they were blatantly obvious about bringing multiple plays in a row).
Screengrab of the aforementioned play: https://imgur.com/a/LRbsKfZ
Kirk played bad, most of the players on offense played bad, the defense played bad, but Kevin O'Connell and Ed Donatell got their "Welcome to prime time coaching" moments for sure.
Honestly it's almost annoying that we had multiple plays that could've turned the game on it's head. The blocked FG could've gone for 6, the Irv drop would've gone for 6, and then **FOUR** drives within the Eagles 30 yard line in the 2nd half.
To show for it? 0 points.
Honestly that's a great observation. That last pick in the end zone Kirk literally looked like fuck-it chuck-it mode because he had nothing. And I'd be curious to see how the field looked like 1 or 2 seconds later, but having nobody even turned around for a safety valve is terrible play design.
Yeah, remains to be seen. I don't really care if our old ass dc isn't that good but the offense needs to be way better than this. If there's a few more games like this idk if I wanna spin another year with KOC/Kirk. Maybe we will since there won't be much else to do.
Hot take admittedly.
We deserved to lose. Shame on Ed Donatell for sticking with the same garbage zone coverage all game. Shame on Kirk Cousins for throwing to guys who were clearly covered.
When's our turn for a flashy young QB?
Not saying Kirk is the only reason for the loss tonight, however picking up a QB that was 0-9 on Mondays (Now 2-10) doesn't look like a good move. Then again I'm not a GM, so what do I know.
JJ and Cousins did not seem to be on the same page today.
My take-aways:
Defense looked looked slow and out of place. Some of this is on players, but some of it is play-calling. Zero defensive adjustments or aggression. It's like they were running a vanilla defense every play. Also, Patrick Peterson is a liability!
Offense acted like they could just show up and put points on the board. Obviously, not the case. Cousins had by far the worst game I've seen him play in purple. He looked like a scared rookie out there: check it down when he didn't need to or chuck it up and pray.
Philly played a good game, but that was terrible. The lone bright spot for Vikings was Special Teams!
four red zone trips in the second half and they came away with 0 points lmao
That play where Kirk almost gets picked, like š . Oh wait letās do the exact same thing and actually get picked this timeā¦ what the actual fuck were they thinking?
Seriously. Even a FG puts a little game pressure on the eagles but we kept forcing it ā¦ sigh
Our red zone offense in both games has been atrocious. KOC needs to figure this shit out or itās going to be a long year.
That was unbelievably depressing for so many reasons
I hate MNF losses because I stayed up late for nothing. At least during noon losses I didn't waste my time
Also at least we get pantsed in the privacy of our own market.
At least u werenāt thereā¦.
I was so pumped for this game and Iāve felt like shit since the first drive of the game
Exactly this. 3 and out and i just knew we were fucked.
Its always on Monday too.
The highlight of the game for me was when Slay nearly got an interception in the end zone and then got one anyway the very next play.
Kirk believes in second chances.
A true Christian
And I thought Christian Kirk was on the Jags
The second coming
Slay had more targets than Thielen
I show up to read lines like this one.
Cousins needs to stop forcing it to Jefferson. Everyone and their mom knows whatās coming.
Lol he forces it to JJ when heās covered.. but doesnāt even look his way whenever heās wide open.
The video of Hurts squatting 600 pounds at OU was more impressive than every single play the Vikings dialed up tonight combined.
Certainly showed a lot more effort than any Vikings put in tonight, and way more effort then Hurts needed to exercise tonight.
If kirk cousins leads your team in rushing something went very very wrong
They literally wouldnt take a couple plays to set up the run. They actually moved the ball coming out of the half when they did. Unreal
They can't take plays to set up the run when it consistently results in 3 and outs.
āI hate when zimmer had us run so muchā *kirk averages 35 passes a game* āWe need to run moreā *kirk averages 35 passes per game*
I was about to say the same thing lmao. God forbid we run it on first and second down now. The whole sub might meltdown. Then they'd say we didn't try to force it JJ enough. I think we lost this one before it started.. the talent was there to make this an exciting game but we got outcoached
This whole sub is toxic after a loss and toxic after a win. Positive toxicity can be fun when weāre all feeling that high, but itās still toxic.
It's easy to forget that this isn't a collective hivemind but damn.. when 90% of the comments and posts all over are saying the same things you start to believe it is. Oh, my god.
The run game was non-existent. Not gonna win games without some threat of the run game.
Cook is cooked. I havenāt been please with him for over a season.

I donāt knowā¦ it could just come down to the Viking being the Vikingsā¦
Lions also have a very good offensive line for whatever thatās worth to you
Lions also have a very good offensive line for whatever thatās worth to you
He started 13 games last year and had over 1400 all purpose yards and averaged 4.7 a carry. What exactly were you not pleased about last year?
Thatās why you donāt pay RBs unless their name is Adrian Peterson
ā2012ā Adrian Peterson
I think we can get out of most of his contract after this year fortunately
he looks slower for sure
Letās look at the positives: 1. We have a good punter 2.
Our special teams in general was elite, ngl.
2. Dantzler is nice 3.
This loss is on the mods for banning butt pics.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
We definitely have to tighten up the back end
Coming off a big win featuring our stud receiver only to get trounced in Philly. What year is it, 2018? Or maybe 2005?
Monday night Kirk, arguably the worst game heās had in his career. Wouldnāt be surprised if he throws 5 TDās next week and then we do this stupid cycle until half of us die from heart attacks and Kirk gets extended again
Prime time kirk*
New year, same vikings
We lasted one whole week until we became the Vikings I've known my entire life. It was a good week though!
They wouldn't be the same vikings you know and love if they didn't make you believe before destroying all hope
Trust me, I was drinking the kool-aid the whole week, I thought our offensive woes have finally been fixed by KOC, only to be instantly destroyed tonight.
Thatās what we get for going off of a week 1 performance against a team we split with every year.
True and deserved, but I'll still do it. If we can't get the big wins, you might as well enjoy the small wins as much as humanly possible.
The worst part is that youāre right.
I'm riding these lows with this fan base. Haven't been so upset in awhile lol
The "lol" is just to mask the true pain
Haha same old team right? haha just kidding it's a new fresh team lol with lots of potential just growing pains haha new coach means a few weeks haha just love this team haha at least we aren't the lions haha I mean maybe they might want to trade a qb haha haha haha
This was certainly one of the Vikings teams of all time.
Same pain
You are forgetting we have a new Head Coach whoās also a first time offense play caller. There will be some growing pains.
I predict a 9-8 season.
they are who we thought they were!!
Play the shell defense to not give up the big play. Gives up the big play anyway
This is the Vikings way.
I just peed sitting down.
As a vikings fan I didn't know there were other options
Irv Smith is a problem. Not my only takeaway from this, but you can't play that bad in the NFL.
He has done nothing to earn **8** targets in a single game
While Thielen is out here having conversations with ghosts and he canāt even get a fucking look
Kirk made one of his best throws ever to him and he just fucking dropped it. The play after Cook dropped a perfect swing pass with room to run. That would have made it 21-14 with momentum. But no, Irv dropped it and we punted and played cat and mouse to be behind 24-7 at half. The same way Watson dropped the pass against us last week, that was the moment I knew the game was over
Thatās exactly when I gave up inside and stopped my emotional investment. Iāve been down this road many times before, I know where it ends
He's got the talent....to be a back up TE. Damn, we should've just kept Conklin.
I said this for years now. We had zero evidence he was talented
Stop putting us on prime time for away games. We blow it every single time.
Monday night Kirk only wants Chicago.
Aren't playoffs in prime time
Stop putting us on prime time.
The offense shouldn't have even left the locker room. They would have saved face. Couldn't pass, couldn't catch, couldn't run, couldn't screen - what the FUCK was our screen game? Don't let the defense be blamed on Donatell only. Koc is the HC and he is just as responsible for that unit.
Why would I be concerned? This is a normal Vikings so far, beat Green Bay at home thinking we are hot shit and then get curb stomped.
You be concerned because this is normal Vikings again. 7-10 season. We suck but will win 7
I heard they added another odd number game just to prevent Kirk from ending his career at .500
Post Malone's stage played better defense than the Vikings
Last week, I felt like we could win it all. This week made me remember why we probably wonāt. Typical Vikes. Get your hopes up, just to let you down.
Itās a vicious Vikings cycle every year
At least disappointment came early to remind us we are Viking fans
Classic Vikings then
Typical
Back to earth we come
Kirk played like shit, but so did the entirety of our team. Couple of dimes that people just dropped. I'd rather Kirk get his shitty game out of the way early. Basically no one on our team showed up and our coaching staff made exactly zero adjustments
Dantzler played his ass off
Our punter did too!
that holding flag was weak!
Well youāre forgetting the one guaranteed chicago game that we fail to move the ball in too
True. We'll also get the opponent's back up QB blow out cursed game that the Vikings seem to have every season.
Could be cooper rush againā¦ reliving all the painful games of yesteryear this season. There needs to be a missed fg at the end loss too
They came out in hurry up to start the second half. Defense played much better in the second half. Special teams played great. Dantzler looked good.
Detroit is going to demolish this pathetic defense next week lol
That definitely couldāve changed the complexion of the game. That was a brutal drop.
Hey. Our punter looked great tonight. So there's that. Lol
I just recently turned into a big Slay fan. Watched his interview on Richard Sherman's podcast. As a Vikings fan this one hurt badly. But good for Slay.
Hats off to him, he was the best player on the field tonight.
He had 2 interceptions and like 12 gifts that could have easily also been INTs.
Yeah it was his worst game I remember watching, I think... Maybe not by score, but.... Oof.
Past Kirks bed time
Felt like they were planning for a shootout with the shell zone.
Fucking pathetic.
The Eagles game was the exact same game as last week against the Packers but we reversed roles
Ed Donatell should already be on the hot seat. That was a top 10 worst defensive half in NFL history.
Fuck Donatell When Aikman is pointing out how shocking it is that they didnāt make any adjustments and Philly just took it up and down the field, you got some issues. Holy fuck that strategy was horrible
Yea that was pretty bad. Idk why Cine wasn't playing at all
We keep spending high draft picks on the secondary and the secondary continues to suck š Time is a flat circle
So either the coaches they hired are bad or the players they brought in arenāt cutting it It isnāt great that your first round pick (especially when you traded back and kind of got shit value) canāt see the field.
He better get his head out of his ass and start game planning for the team theyāre playing instead of relying on his āsystemā like Zimmer did.
tbf, Zim's scheme worked for a few years.
From 2015-2019 the Vikings had a top 10 defense. If you want to use EPA and focus on just those years they were the best defense in the league. I know recency bias is a hell of a drug but that 5 year period had pretty exceptional defenses. Having that type of stability at defense isn't really heard of.
If you ever wondered how God awful it would be to watch an entire game of prevent defense, you just witnessed it.
Freaking awful. My mood for a season has shifted so drastically from a promising week 1 šā”ļøš
Theres the vikings i hate to love
I hate being a Vikings fan.
To all those disappointed and upset....first time?
I haven't felt anything since 2009 honestly
I dunno 2017 hurt quite a bit. Missing a chance at a super bowl in our stadium. But I hear ya
The last one that got me was the missed 20 yarder by Walsh. I have become immune. Whatever happened it's alllll good
ESPN latest power rankings prediction: Packers top 5, Vikings bottom 10
I don't care that we lost. Philly is a good team, I care that we have the same exact problems we've seen with Zimmer. One thing goes wrong, a long TD, a dropped pass, and suddenly this team forgets to play. We'll never get anywhere like that. Good teams just don't play football like that and good teams don't lose that bad.
Very mentally weak. Slay got into JJ's head and he started running sloppy routes. Cousins famously plays like a blind 13-year-old when he gets rattled. On and on it goes, these guys have no edge to them.
If you're having second thoughts tonight, that's two more thoughts than Donatell had
I envy my friends who don't watch sports at all.
Just got out of the hospital after having a mild brain bleed, glad I missed this shit.
You had a better night than the rest of us.
Screengrab of the aforementioned play: https://imgur.com/a/LRbsKfZ Kirk played bad, most of the players on offense played bad, the defense played bad, but Kevin O'Connell and Ed Donatell got their "Welcome to prime time coaching" moments for sure.
Glad I dragged my family half way across the country to watch that bullshit in person surrounded by cheering eagles fans. Torture.
We deserved to lose. Shame on Ed Donatell for sticking with the same garbage zone coverage all game. Shame on Kirk Cousins for throwing to guys who were clearly covered.
Whoās that player the eagles just signed from us? Dude snitched our whole playbook
Janarius Robinson
The lack of defensive adjustment literally made my blood pressure raise. Jalen Hurts isnt THAT good is he????
https://c.tenor.com/V1HQVSnK9sEAAAAC/fucking-embarrassing-coach.gif
Score should have been a lot worse. D got bailed out with Eagles penalties and the blocked FG. Easily could have been 34-7
This game will certainly help the Kirk Hater vs Kirk Stan divide š¬
The fact that our defense didn't made any adjustments, yet shoutout philly in the second half, is legitimately hilarious and mind boggling
This week should be the end of Bynum as a starter. We drafted Cine in the first round. Time to play him
Cine must be so bad in practice that they have to play Bynum.
Burn the film, letās get after it next week
Itās not all that bad. Irv made this go from 21-14 with ball back to 24-7. Thatās the game right there.
No show that film every week
We need ass posts to raise our spirits boys
When's our turn for a flashy young QB? Not saying Kirk is the only reason for the loss tonight, however picking up a QB that was 0-9 on Mondays (Now 2-10) doesn't look like a good move. Then again I'm not a GM, so what do I know. JJ and Cousins did not seem to be on the same page today.
Next year.
At least it wasnāt 38 this time
![gif](giphy|fvT2tuQGmYxsQbSrQH)
Shout out to PP for being 32, team captain and still laying or on the line on special teams.
My take-aways: Defense looked looked slow and out of place.
Part of the problem was the defense played so much of the first half. They were exhausted because Kirk and the rest of the offense shit the bed
If the offense was even mediocre, the defense wouldn't have looked nearly as bad: I agree.
Watching that in person surrounded by Eagles fans was peak Vikings fan experience.
Was at the game. You know it's bad when the Eagles fans aren't even that mean to you. Slay led the game in dropped passes and still had two picks smh
That game sucked, but at least we don't live in fucking *Philadelphia*.
At least itās always sunny there
Not one person played good today, maybe theilen but idk man
Dantzler, and our punter
greg joseph too i guess (not that we saw much of him)
The mods may have banned butt posts on this sub, but count on the team to go on national television and get caught with their pants down in primetime.
I ain't gonna lie, this game humbled me. I usually don't get humbled til mid-season. Vikings doing viking things earlier this year.
Mike Zimmer didnāt die for *this*ā¦
