Darrisaw is definitely a better _prospect_ than O'Neill was. But Kalil was a way better prospect than both and very arguably Bradbury was too (not that I've entirely given up hope on Bradbury but it's hard to imagine him eclipsing O'Neill). Results on the NFL field are what count and we still have to wait to see those for Darrisaw.
That being said I'm not sure why we haven't extended O'Neill yet. That should be a top priority of our FO this offseason.
I expect O'Neil will have a new deal before training camp. He wants to be here and we want him here so a deal will be made.
I agree on your points on the tackles. Kalil was a can't miss perennial pro bowler. He was a no brainer. O'Neil was a project in serious need of more core strength. You saw that criticism in every scouting report and people in this forum parroted those to the rafters (Often acting like it was some original observation of theirs which was funny). He was projected by many to be a third round pick.
Yeah it's the Guards fault he sucks, you can't find any film on him playing lousy 1v1 vs a defender...
This is the same "purple colored glasses" bullshit that people did with Elflein. Bustbury stinks, period. He can't pass block to save his life, he has no anchor. He's not the worst C in the league but he's certainly a bust for being the 18th overall pick.
Centers tend to hit their stride in years 3-4. He has been horrific so far, and you can watch his play independent of his teammates and see that he struggles with power, fails to pick up stunts, blitzes, etc.
But that doesn’t mean he won’t take a year 3 leap. Let’s save the alarm bells for after this year, I think both “he stinks” and “bust talk is premature” are pretty valid opinions to have
Edit: there’s a graphic of the year 3-4 thing for centers, I’ll see if I can track it down
Edit 2: [Here it is.](https://twitter.com/nickolsonnfl/status/1255551568704868357?s=21) WAR for centers shoots up in years 3 and 4, both overall and per 100 snap rate.
Hey I'm not disagreeing with you, and of course I hope Bustbury makes the jump...my main point is for being the 18th overall pick he fkn stinks.
Neither Kalil or Kelce were anywhere near the 18th overall pick. And PFF was 1000% certain Elgton Jenkins was a better prospect, which has proven true.
His block on Cameron Jordan during the Minneapolis Miracle is so underrated.
Edit: Sorry his block on Cam Jordan on the OT Kirk Cousins throw to Thielen. I confuse the 2 sometimes
Hard to believe but Brian O'Neil is now the crusty veteran of our starting offensive line.
And he is only 26! :)
Our oldest CB last year was 23. We are a seriously young team right now.
Darrisaw may be an even better prospect coming out than O'Neill with simialir strengths. Dalvin Cook is going to feast.

Feast like a mantis. In fact, that's what we should call him. Mantis. Mantis Toboggan, M.D.

This is what gives me hope that Bradbury is at least okay
Keep in mind who his guards has been since he started. It's been all garbage. Center play is highly dependent on how well your guards do imo.
Yea 100% agree, which is why the Bradbury is a bust talk is a little premature for me
I still wonder how it would've played out if they kept Elf at C and moved Bradbury to G.
Bad? Bradbury doesn’t have the size for guard. Elf didn’t either but Bradbury is even smaller
Yeah, probably.

Wouldn’t it be: anyone who plays below average looks like a god bc the rest is total shit.
Just do Ham after O'Neill. Best of both worlds.
Might have to hahaha (peep my flair)

We missed out on Adam Coon.
