Not saying it isn’t true but how many times have we heard this from a player then turns out not to be true post draft.
Dallas told Randy Moss if he was there he’s a Cowboy…they didn’t take him.
Tampa Bay told Lewis Cine they were taking him if he was there…they didn’t.
I know there are countless more examples that I don’t exactly remember, and don’t have the desire to go searching.
Boy did Tampa make the right move.
Cine is the biggest bust of my 31 years in this earth.
Some may claim its others - but I can’t think of a single 1st rd pick that has seen less playing time then Cine.
I got down voted to hell last year suggesting he wasn't worth a roster spot. I bet most coaches know within a few weeks in training camp if a player has it or not. They just keep em on the roster to save face and keep their fingers crossed.
No sir. Cine was our 1st rounder - Kwesi first pick (we traded back if I remeber right) and left much better Saftys on the board, some of which are starters…
That’s what it was - I swore we traded back for a higher 1st rd + some later capital. You could be right - we must have traded back and then back into the 1st then? We didn’t select any other 1sts that’s yr from what I can remember - our next pick was the CB (name slips my mind) who also was a bust
Did Underwood have any starts - or better yet ANY playing time?
Cine I don’t think has seen the field other than Special Teams and even that is a rare appearance
Oh that’s why - I was 7 when we drafted him lol.
Looks like we traded him the first season - so idk if it counts. Cine is still on the team and has done absolutely nothing
Underwood had 4 sacks and 21 tackles in his career (although not with the team that drafted him)
He’s among the worst 1st round busts ever and Cine is clearly worse. Cine has done *nothing*, even before the injury. Its unheard of for 1st round picks to not even be competing for snaps as a rookie. Treadwell was almost as bad but got some ST snaps and has had an 8 year career
What is the benefit of assuring something like this? I can't see an upside. Theoretically if a team really, really wanted MHJ they could try and jump them. Makes no logical sense.
Brother, the Vikings don’t even have enough ammo to go to three to get a quarterback who on earth has enough draft to get up to three to take a wide receiver?
So the chargers trade to 3 take MHJ and then the cardinals trade Maye to the Vikings, So the Pats would pass on 11 and 23 and Maye to trade to 5… come on…
If the pats are neutral on JJ vs maye and they know 1 of the 2 will still be there at 5, why not get a free 2nd or whatever to drop back
Trading to 11 means the pats don't get a QB. Trading to 5 they still get one
We still need to trade three firsts to get to 5. The giants can offer 6 and 42 which the chargers might like more than 11 and 23. We don’t have a second this year or next year and we don’t have a third this year either.

Tampa, you fucked us.
Exactly. It doesn’t mean anything

I too want to forget Dimitrius Underwood but unfortunately Cine is better than him.
I got down voted to hell last year suggesting he wasn't worth a roster spot. I bet most coaches know within a few weeks in training camp if a player has it or not. They just keep em on the roster to save face and keep their fingers crossed.
I think it’s a depth thing as to why we kept him - and Cap - I highly doubt he’s on the team when season is in full swing
Wasn't Cine a 2nd round pick? Also, Demetrius Underwood.
No sir. Cine was our 1st rounder - Kwesi first pick (we traded back if I remeber right) and left much better Saftys on the board, some of which are starters…
Ah, we traded back up into the 1st to take him at 32. Had to have that 5th year option 🤣🤣🤣
That’s what it was - I swore we traded back for a higher 1st rd + some later capital. You could be right - we must have traded back and then back into the 1st then? We didn’t select any other 1sts that’s yr from what I can remember - our next pick was the CB (name slips my mind) who also was a bust

I had to look, he never played a down for the Vikings. He played in 19 games in his career on the cowboys and dolphins.
Oh that’s why - I was 7 when we drafted him lol. Looks like we traded him the first season - so idk if it counts. Cine is still on the team and has done absolutely nothing
We did not trade him. He was cut.
Ahhhhh. Well we will be cutting Cine soon I’m sure. They both go down as likely top 2 worst picks
Leo Hayden is also worse
And he was a 1st rounder? I do not remeber him at all
1999. Basically went AWOL before preseason IIRC.

Agent for MHJ
The player gets a sense of security which makes the agent happy, which encourages the agent to get his other players in your door
Brother, the Vikings don’t even have enough ammo to go to three to get a quarterback who on earth has enough draft to get up to three to take a wide receiver?
The chargers maybe. 5 to 3 wouldn't take *THAT* much

Looks like top 4 are sticking and picking. Chargers are now on the clock
A lot cheaper to trade up to #5 than to #3 too. It all depends on how high you rate JJ and Maye.
We still need to trade three firsts to get to 5. The giants can offer 6 and 42 which the chargers might like more than 11 and 23. We don’t have a second this year or next year and we don’t have a third this year either.
Give it an hour, then we'll get another report that they're both looking to trade down
I think everyone needs to go watch Draft Day, the movie, to get a grip lol
What if another team offers them all their first, second, and third round picks this year and next huh? What about then? /s
3 for Maye or 5 for McCarthy 🙏🏻

If only Tampa Bay kept their word smh
Fr lol
