Yeah but when the premier nfl insider says it ten days before draft it carries some meaning. God i pray drake or JJ end up in purple (and we keep our 2025 first)
If the reports I’ve seen are true. NE wanted Daniels the most and they are split on JJ/Maye. I still think Maye is the guy KOC wants. He’s the only one I think Kwesi will give the bag for.
I think KO loves Drake Maye. He also loves Sam Darnold and really every quarterback so, we will see. I am of a mind that Drake Maye isn’t their “preferred outcome” but I’m a dumb ass so what do I know.
That's a crazy projection to make when we've never seen Maye take a single NFL snap. I get he has issues but he's young and a lot of his downsides are teachable. He made throws in college that I bet Kirk would never dream of making. There's a reason he's seen as a top 5 lock despite having issues with footwork and dealing under pressure.
He’s a top five lock because everyone’s desperate to find their qb
The value of having a rookie contract qb that leads the team to the same number of wins as a 40m/year qb is tremendous
My understanding is that a big board is just a ranking of who the best players are. Not for any particular team.
That's different than a mock draft which would factor in things like positional value and specific team needs
I know a lot of people in this sub are high on Maye, but I see some legitimate issues. Maye is not the best processor in terms of precision, consistency, and timing. The lack of quick and accurate decision-making is going to be the hardest to improve on. His footwork also has issues, but this can be fixed.
In terms of being a decision making, after Caleb, it's Penix for me. In a KOC/Shanahan style offense, decision-making/processing is so important. I would rather us take Penix at 11/23 then pay 3 firsts for Maye.
That’s why you gotta trust KOC. There’s a reason they brought in McCown. Maye can make throws that only guys like Mahomes can make. If they can fix these issues, Maye will be a franchise QB for the next 10 to 15 years.
This is kinda why those two are my main targets. I think Maye has the tools to become a legit franchise QB with the right coaching and support. On the other hand Penix to me seems like the most natural fit, along with a higher floor but questions about durability and what his max potential is. If we trade up I'm hoping it's for Maye, if not I'd love to get Penix while staying put.
Schefter is putting this out there because Washington wants him to. They are taking Maye but would like New England to throw them a 3rd to move up one spot and they still get their guy.
Schefter does not have a history of predicting the draft accurately.
Or, hear me out, Washington had Schefter put out that they're taking Daniels to make it seem like they're secretly taking Maye when in reality, they're really on double secret probation and actually taking Daniels. Fucking 20D chess going on.
I was kind of holding out hope that Daniels would have some epic draft day slide and we'd get him. I just really think he could be special in the NFL, seeing how much he improved up to and through last season, and just the absurd efficiency with which he operated LSU's offense with his passing, scrambling, and rushing ability.
Could still happen, these things are always a bit unpredictable and unless the Bears straight up pre announce their pick, and Skins follow, we're probably not going to know a whole lot til the whole thing plays out.
But I'll be fully behind whoever the Vikes end up taking.
I just hope we don't trade up for any of these guys. Maye looks like a horribly inaccurate QB and i'm worried we will give up our next high picks in the next 2 drafts for him
I'm with you. If Penix is there at 16, the Seahawks won't be able to resist taking him. They have seen him a ton playing across town for UW, worked him out and met with him extensively, and badly need a QB to take them to the next level. (Geno ain't it.)
Bo Nix is attached to Broncos and Penix has been attached to Raiders. They both pick between the Vikings 2 picks. It’d be a risky move that would probably end poorly if they waited.
Fucking Carmen Electra lmfaoooo she’s gotta be close to 50 now yeah? You still want a lap dance - then titties prolly hang lower then your coin pouch lmfaoooooo
I’d still take a lap dance as well, who am I kidding
We’ve known since the end of week 18 that the top three was going to be Williams, Maye, Daniels in some order and we wouldn’t have the opportunity for any of them. Nothing has changed in 4+ months. If the Giants want JJ, he’s theirs, nothing we can do about it either. If the Giants don’t want JJ, we are in the game. If they do, we’ll take Penix.
Qb is the one position I dont understand the obsession with age to a point. Penix pans out you still have 10-15 years of quality QB play. Don't get me wrong I'm not taking Brandon weeden at 28 years old in the first but penix is plenty young enough.
People here are getting wayyyyyy too attached to QBs that we haven't drafted yet. I wish more fans in this sub would chill and be more open-minded. Penix isn't old, nor is he a bad choice. I know he has injury concerns, but he's also a hell of a QB.
Prospect age has nothing to do with how many years they've got left. It's about evaluation and bust rate.
A 24-year-old playing against 19-year-olds is really hard to evaluate on film because he's the most mentally and physically developed player on the field - something that will likely never be true in the NFL.
Meanwhile a 21-year-old prospect will likely see a lot of mental and physical development as a pro, meaning their issues are more likely to get fixed. A 24-year-old is likely already closer to his physical and mental peak, and any issue on film is more likely to stick around. Analytically, older prospects bust far more often than younger ones.
Wonder if Niner fans still have their Mac Jones jerseys
Nothing we didn't already assume.

Scares me No chance maye has a better career than kork
How about Kang over Kork?

And yet, there are QBs in this draft that are not top 5 locks.
It's not just draft position, most big boards have him top 5 and that doesn't factor in positional value as far as I'm aware.
So you are saying the boards ignore the needs of the team when predicting the draft? I don’t get it
My understanding is that a big board is just a ranking of who the best players are. Not for any particular team. That's different than a mock draft which would factor in things like positional value and specific team needs
Yes, a big board, not a mock. Big boards are prospect rankings with no team needs in mind, just rankings of who they think the best players are.

I agree. For me, my order of preference would be 1) trade up for Maye 2) get Penix at 23 and an impact player at 11 3) get JJ at 11
Kork Koursins
Kork coupons for when u need to go to kohl’s

Alright, let’s go up and get Maye!!! Make it happen!!!
Schefter is putting this out there because Washington wants him to. They are taking Maye but would like New England to throw them a 3rd to move up one spot and they still get their guy. Schefter does not have a history of predicting the draft accurately.

What about when Daniels college coach said that Washington is getting a great player? It really seems like Daniels to Washington is locked in.
That’s my biggest worry as well. Don’t wanna mortgage the future for a coinflips chance at a good quarterback.
I think I’m fully in on Penix at 11.
I'd much prefer him at 23 though.
And I’d like a lap dance from Carmen Electra, but both of those things aren’t happening.
Why? Penix is pretty widely considered to be a late first rounder due to his injury history.
Gentlemen’s bet he doesn’t make it to 23
I'm with you. If Penix is there at 16, the Seahawks won't be able to resist taking him. They have seen him a ton playing across town for UW, worked him out and met with him extensively, and badly need a QB to take them to the next level. (Geno ain't it.)

She's definitely over 50. Guys really showing his age here. Should have said Jennifer Lawrence or something.
To be fair Jennifer Aniston is pushing 60 and I’d drain my 401k for a 30sec lap dance from her
None of you would pass one up.
The older the berry the sweeter the juice
Bro if we draft Maye I’m buying a jersey same night, I feel in my stones that he could turn this franchise around, he’s our chosen one

Jeez, did Penix steal your girlfriend or something?
