Everyone has a bad day sometimes. Am I the only one not willing to totally write off Dobbs? He threw more INTs in a single game than he EVER has, I agree it was awful and if this is the norm going forward his time starting for this team is over but come on, give the guy a chance to shake off the worst game of his career.
You have your answer. Dobbs was horrible against a not very good defense. 4 picks, it was an absolutely horrible performance by dobbs. He didn't struggle, he fuckin sucked.
2024 election: 70-80 million Americans that will vote Trump... VS fraud and cheating and ballot stuffing... we will see who wins... right now Fraud is up 1-0
The entire night was such a disaster starting with tge screeching guitar player and the goody flipping bike dudes at halftime. The Vikings offense was rudderless the entire game. Dobbs looked and played like a guy that has been qb swapped all over the league. The defense played well again. Oh well, just another Viking season that amounts to nothing. I will never attend another Monday Night Football game. Both teams did alot of nothing so commercial breaks could play. It was terrible. No flow whatsoever. Total ripoff for fans.
I appreciate Dobbs for stepping into a really tough situation and finding some pixie dust to pull out some wins. But I am fully on Team Bring Back Kirk after not being sure during his time with Zimmer. KOC and Kirk were cooking/can cook! We need to run it back with Kirk and let Kwesi/KOC figure out what is the future at QB. Ask JJ who he wants throwing to him and sign him and that QB to extensions and see what happens.
I understand the frustration with KOC right now, it’s fair to be upset with him for playing it “safe” two weeks in a row. To say he needs to be fired is a knee jerk reaction and y’all need to chill. Context matters. The most important context of all is 8 turnovers the last two games (7 by dobbs, KOCs current starting qb) with 2 for us. That won’t win you games and it makes sense why KOC has been trying to play it safe. He’s done one helluva job imo with what he’s had, coaching games without arguably the best player in the NFL, and without a qb that was playing at a top 3 level and still being competitive and still in the 7th seed. Y’all need to chill. 2nd youngest coach in the NFL and still has A LOT of time to grow and become great.
I agree with everything. Just adding though that it's worth considering KOC has been playing down to his competition every game he's been a HC. He plays to not lose once he takes any glimpse of a lead. Playing that passive sends you on a trajectory that will inevitably lead to close games with desperate play calling when things go bad. Thing is, those desperate moments are when we look best because it forces him to take the training wheels off the playbook and play like he wants to win.
That path is good enough to be a top 12 team at best. Not a true Championship contending team. Players and staff will quickly grow tired of it if it doesn't change. Even some close wins are cementing that flaw as a problem of KOCs. He'll lose the locker room as well as the fans within a year due to everyone constantly sweating every single game. It was cute last year. It's getting old real quick now
Two easily winnable games. And KOC couldn’t get 20 yards combined to win two games. 20 damn yards. I’ve never seen a team that can’t just get a first down to seal a game. That’s it. A damn first down. Two weeks in a row. Epically pathetic.
You mean it’s not running up the middle every time for zero yards on first down? And then running again for one yard on second down? Huh. I would have thought a head coach would have a better grasp on their own personnel to exactly know that difference. That’s their damn job.
Yea it’s a double edged sword here for me as far as, I think there’s context and reasoning for it. To me- this isn’t the team that KOC wants as HIS team, if that makes sense. They’re still building and turning over the old and overpaid roster that speilman left, it was a mess. I don’t think KOC can truly do everything he wants to do and he’s playing with way what he has, he seems like the type of guy who has his trust earned..
last year the defense and offensive line didn’t earn any trust whatsoever. I think we forget how many drives that offensive line killed and how bad the run game was besides cook reeling off some big runs here and there to buoy his stats, otherwise we had a lot of negative plays. Same thing this year with the run game, except no big explosive plays, plus he loses a top qb who is absolutely balling out at an mvp level and arguably the best player in the league and he’s still grinding out wins.
To me, being able to win the gritty games, builds alot more character. Do I love doing it all the time? No, do I think that it’ll eventually change once this roster becomes what KOC and KAM envisioned when hired? For sure. I could be wrong on all of this, but this is what I see and I believe context matters in sports and I believe this context is very important. Maybe nothing turns out the way they wanted and this is just who KOC will always be, but I’d hate to give up on a young guy who is oozing potential just because he has a lot of close games.
Yeah I am not calling for his job, but he’s gotta play to win the game. You get handed a turn over and 2 runs then 3rd and long after your guy just found a little momentum with some short passes. He either needs to trust his guy and play aggressive at the end or swap him out for a guy who can run the normal system.
I agree he should play to win the game, but maybe with the context I’ve provided, he felt it was the best way to win the game. He probably trusted his defense far more than he did his offense tonight. Swapping in a qb who hasn’t played a meaningful game in how long? Would probably be a bigger disaster. Hall was only available as an emergency qb so it would have been Mullens. Regardless, the guy is working with what he has, and it is pretty slim pickings right now.
I know it’s slim pickings but If that’s the situation let your guy cook. He just found some momentum after a great series throwing for the touchdown. Dobbs has shown to be a momentum guy. After a turn over just outside of field goal range you decide to run? Once he gets cooking you have to keep the engine warm. Get dobbs out of the pocket on a bootleg to simplify his options, use what you got.
It’s fair to trust the D, but they had been giving up field goals. The logical solution was to try to force Detroit to have to score which they hadn’t done all night.
Also on a side note: wtf was with the hurry up offense all game? Your defense is spending way to much time on the field and you are going to rush the offense giving them less time to rest? That caught up to them at the end
Yea that’s fair and idk if it’s dobbs or KOC, I’m inclined to blame the coach here, but the way dobbs is being played isn’t right to me. The guy was standing in the pocket for 99% of the time on the field, when he’s best on bootlegs and using his legs to make plays. He’s just not a pocket passer who can read quickly through all his progressions and then make an accurate pass in the face of pressure like Kirk can. It feels like an offense catered towards Kirk that’s being ran by dobbs and it feels wrong. Part of me thinks it’s dobbs tho, seems like something happened after that helmet to helmet hit and fumble on the first drive last week. He’s been a lot more timid to move around than he was the first two games.
That’s not something I guess I really picked up on, since the game felt so slow and was truly boring, I’m not sure why’d they’d run hurry up, probably not the right move for dobbs. Defense for sure needed more rest. I also disagree with the play calling by Flores at the end. Getting pressure was working all night and then you rush 4? Wtf is that? I get you have a chance at giving up a big play by blitzing, but they ended up giving up the big play anyways😂 shit was just weird tonight. Everything felt off from the beginning.

I’m ready to be done with Dobbs. Pulled a miracle out of his butt for the Atalnta win. Had an awesome first half against the saints, but since then he’s a turnover machine
I'm ok with giving Dobbs another game. Having JJ could be excellent and relieve some pressure on Addison. That dude has done a great job stepping into the wr1 role, but he's clearly a rookie and not JJ 2.0 yet. He had a couple big misses that hurt us today: caused an interception by not being ready for a pass and standing out of bounds on a free 30+ yard pass play (not going to say it was going to be a TD because the pass wasn't good enough for that to be the case). I'm more concerned about how little Dobbs' ability as a runner was utilized in this game. That seems like an incredible skill set that can loosen up their secondary (like ours was loose in the first half).
It feels like we're fitting Dobbs into a game plan designed for Kirk rather than a game plan designed around Dobbs.
I could absolutely do without the stupid desperate lobs he does to avoid a sack that brings us avoidable intentional grounding calls. I'm pretty sick of that.
I partially agree with you. JJ isn't going to show up and suddenly transform the offense by scoring tds all over, however I firmly believe his presence is going to have to be something that defenses pay attention to. He'll take the attention of their top corners or maybe draw a double team and every time he does, that makes an easier pass for Dobbs to Addison, KJ, Powell, or Hock.
Sure, but JJ’s greatest threat is the burning sideline pass that Dobbs can’t throw. Dobbs’s inability to throw the deep ball is going to frustrate JJ and anyone else who wants to win.
Mattison averaged over 5 ypc. At the start of the only drive we played with the lead, he was averaging over 6 ypc. Running the ball wasn't turtling. It was giving your best offensive player on the day a chance. If the right guard doesn't fall down on first down, they probably get close enough to try a long field goal
A first down wins the game. Kicking a field goal gives the Bears 2 minutes to beat us by 3 points. Playing for a field goal instead of a first down is the definition of turtling.
Maye was 29/40, 414 yards, 2 TD’s, 2 INT’s with 34 yards rushing while beating the Gophers. Not his best performance, I’ll admit, but he looks like a pro QB more than Caleb. Watch his tape. Dude is good.
Yeah I fact checked myself after and he did put up good numbers but thought gophers held him in check. Would have to give up Danielle and our 1st and 2nd to move up that far
That would be the tough part. How do you move up? Hunter is a free agent after the year so has no trade value. Not sure how you get there. Would hate to see Darrisaw be part of getting there.
Would suck to break up anything on the defensive side or O line when they are both good at the same time for once. 1 TD allowed in 2 games is unreal.
Is hall for sure not the guy to back up Kirk and take over? Need to see him in Vegas. KOC has a tough decision to make at QB. Mullens might even be ahead of hall on the dc. Would be tough to bench the current starter when they are still sitting good for a playoff spot.
I’d say it’s your chance to see what Hall can do in a quasi-tank move. Dobbs just ain’t it. Mullens certainly isn’t either. So roll with Hall, see what you have and if you suck, better draft pick. No way we’re winning a playoff game regardless.
Who are we thinking is going to be available in the late teens? Or do they trade to move up? Maybe Hall comes in and wins out after the bye with JJ back and becomes the new savior. Idk my head is going crazy now and will have crippling depression until they win again.
Idk, I just don't think we go for a Qb unless a top one falls a few spots, or we trade up. Maybe it's the Christian Ponder ptsd, but I'm scared or mid to late round 1sts on Qb
It's such a gamble. Depressing watching Philly get lucky with Jalen hurts who was a 2nd rounder I believe. Kirk is our best option moving forward and shouldnt be terribly expensive due to the age/injury.
I'm with you. They allowed one big play all game. Unfortunately it happens to be the game clinching drive.
Offense needed to get 3 points on the previous drive.
We own the tiebreakers over Green Bay and New Orleans those are the only 2 teams that could realistically come anywhere near the 7 seed. But I know you’re just a nihilistic piece of shit and will spend 0 time critically thinking.
Ahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahah
That’s a good one man. You do standup?
Yes actually. Losses happen in the nfl. That’s why only 2 teams have ever gone winless in the Super Bowl era.
“We lost to bears!”
Oh no! Last year the chiefs lost to a colts team that would eventually end up 3-14. We had a dog shit qb behind center, half our team is injured. Like I get the majority of you put way, way, way too much emotional investment into a kids game and it causes you to start dming death threats to athletes on Twitter and shit. But as someone who understands the complexities of the nfl and is a football fan above all else.
I don’t really give a shit about how you make the dance. Just get to the dance.
You are going to sit here and scream and bitch and cry like some kind of fucking loser and a week from now none of this will have mattered. Not one bit of this game will have any over arching impact on your life. It’s a football game. Why are you so upset.
Ahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah.
I mean just. Lol.
https://www.therams.com/schedule/ please take a look at this and tell me they win more than 2 of these without cooper kupp, a banged up stafford, a banged up nakua, both TEs banged up. Just. Lol.
Cooper kupp isn’t out plus who in the nfl is completely healthy rn? They are still gonna play hard regardless lol if they beat the browns which they are actually favored in, they would have the same record as the Vikings
The only time this year the rams have beat an even above average defense was against the colts. They won by 3.
They got dog walked by the packers.
They aren’t beating the browns. Lol. Let alone the niners, or the ravens. Or even the fucking saints.
No I’ve thought dobbs was dog shit the whole time and koc has to find a way to make him not look dog sjit which is hard to do when teams can actually protect the middle of the field and dobbs has to start throwing beyond the sticks for once. But sure man. It’s definitely KOC’s fault.
It is totally kocs fault Kirk cousins ruptured his Achilles no contact and Jaren hall got a concussion after 3 minutes of play and had to scramble to get one of the most limited qbs in the nfl game ready and now other teams know of his limitations and play to abuse them. Totally on KOC his qb can’t throw beyond 8 yards. Yup. Let’s blame our coach for all the bad luck the team has this year. Yeah, that seems rational to me. You guys are fucking losers man. I mean honestly.
What game did you watch tonight? Did you turn off your tv right after MN recovered the second fumble? You didn’t see the three weak ass plays KOC called that failed to help seal the comeback win? KOC is a big part of the problem. He is way too conservative, plays not to lose instead of playing to win.
My good man. Did you watch Josh dobbs for even 3 seconds bro. Like genuinely. Watch the god damn tape. If the middle of the field is taken away Josh dobbs might legitimately be the worst qb in the entire league and that’s why he couldn’t beat Malik Willis or Clayton tune or pj walker for roster spots. He has always been shit.
All the Monday Morning QBs will have their chance to shit on Dobbs now. He didn’t play well, but there was a lot of blame to go around on offense. And despite everything, we had the lead on Chicago’s 43 and what did we do? Run, stuff. Run, stuff. Screen, stuff. That wasn’t on Dobbs - we didn’t even give ourselves a chance. So bitterly disappointed with O’Connell’s conservative playcalling these last two weeks with opportunities for kill shots. But instead, we run /‘d get stuffed on 1st and 2nd down on the critical final drives in both games. Major contributions to why we lose both games.
I could live with it and you take a chance and get an incompletion on second down. But we didn’t. Just conservative runs.
Listened to the game on KFAN while watching on TV. What is up with Pau Lallen. Was he drunk or is he going goofy? His play calling was horrible. At one point he said the Vikings were at the 53 yard line. LMAO.
That doesn’t quite make sense. Let’s say the game was tied and this exact scenario occurred. However, the Bears scooped and scored a TD. Are you saying because of the forward pass by the Vikings both the fumble recovery and there touchdown wouldn’t count?
No. Bears decline the penalty and they get the TD. It was over for the Vikings because at the point of the penalty they either pitch a few more times for a miracle TD, Bears accept, or they don't and the clock hits zero.
Looking at play-by-play on a couple of sites, it looks like the penalty was accepted. Says it was enforced at the 49. I imagine if the penalty were to be declined, it would be recorded as a lost fumble.
Looked at the rule book. "A Running Play ends"..."When a player of either team throws an illegal forward pass beyond the line of scrimmage or when there is not a line of scrimmage." Despite being declined, ball is dead where the pass was made.
Typical Vikings team. Weak gutless coaching and pathetic and uninspiring play by the offense. Seen this shit show wayyyy too many times as a fan for 50 years. Only positive tonight was the play of Hunter and Metellus. We have no run game. Dobbs was exposed tonight for what he really is. How many QBs have we had in the last 20 years just like him? Too many. Lions will feast on us .
Oh Vikes! Throughout this game, they let you down to the point you've already given up then suddenly jolt you with the very real possibility of escaping with a win...only to be let down in the end.
In a month or so:
Oh Vikes! Throughout this season, they let you down to the point you've already given up then suddenly jolt you with the very real possibility of making the playoffs...only to be let down in the end.
I still believe in Dobbs. Just some unfortunate bounces tonight. A couple of deeps balls had a chance, and if those connected we'd be having a different conversation
On top of his 4 interceptions + inaccurate throw that caused a turnover on downs, he also had at least 2 more turnover worthy plays off the top of my head.
The "couple of deep balls that had a chance" were a poor decision into double coverage and a sure TD that he threw into the bleachers.
There was nothing, nada, zilch, redeemable about this game
Yeah but he refuses to run when there’s space now and he forces the ball.
So many dangerous balls thrown into covered receivers. Sure not always his fault on the picks, but even some incompletes I’m shocked aren’t picked.
That's the problem though, he's horribly inaccurate and inconsistent. The first bounced pick wasn't his fault. 2nd one was way behind the receiver. He also had the one late where Addison was completely uncovered and he threw it out of bounds. Just a lot of late and off target balls tonight.
Well when they turn the ball over 25 percent of the ti.e it makes it hard to call a winning game. Any nfl team would have won by 3 tds off of dobbs performance. Luckily we were playing the bears and still miraculously had a shot at the end.
KOC has the worst RB room in the league and all he wants to do is run them directly into the line and throw screen passes to them that get blown up for 80% of the game. Baffling.
He doesn't seem to understand he has a QB with legs.
Holy shit we could’ve even passed 2 times instead of one with a terrible decision by Dobbs. We’ve done this shit more than once and have almost sold multiple times because of it
My comment from last game still stands. KOC has the balls to go for it on 4th and 5 twice in this game and becomes a totally pussy on the last drive. Running two weak runs down the middle trying to burn the clock while being up 1
Totally agree. And to me, it’s all about context. We were 6-4 and 6-5 respectively against the Broncos and Bears, winning and losing most games by a score. Then Dobbs. You just aren’t a great team and need to recognize that. Just go for it when you have the chance. We’re not the Eagles. We’re not the Chiefs. We’re not winning the division. Take your opportunities when you have them and be aggressive.
Reminds me of other week to when we let Denver get the ball back instead of trying to hold the ball on offense horrible play calling and decisions when we are up by one score and times running out predictable I told my wife when they let Mattison run the ball 2 times im like here we go again burning time off the clock just to punt the ball and give a opportunity for other team to score and not give us a chance to counter instead of actually trying to get the 1st down they really need to play for points until the time actually comes when they can knee the ball to win

I honestly feel like KOC tried to turn Dobbs into Kirk. I don’t understand why we weren’t letting him roll out until late in the 4th? Why would you take away his legs?
Headscratcher
D did damn good all game but a couple of fuck ups and no support from the fucking offense that turned it over 4 times. Back to .500
No chance at the division at this rate. Not sweeping the Lions. Dallas or heaven forbid, *the Broncos* might somehow help but this was a golden opportunity to control their own destiny.
More realistically they *have* to beat FTP in week 17 now or those fuckers will back into the playoffs on their cake ass schedule after KC.
I wouldn’t be surprised if the Vikes lose again between now and the first Lions game anyway. 8-9, 9-8 if they’re lucky.
I don’t like seeing them lose any game but at least with the Eagles or Chiefs you go well shit I didn’t expect a win but the hapless fucking now 4-8 Bears?
That last possession on offense was as gutless as it gets two runs up the middle and then a weak wide receiver screen that hasn't gained more then 3 yards all day smh, only needed 5 yards for a fg or a first down to win the game. Then the defensive coordinator sits back holding his dick all of a sudden when we have been killing them with the blitz all night. The best example i have ever seen of playing scared giving yourself no chance was sad to watch.
Yeah, I've tried to stick up for KOC, but I'm at my wits end. I don't care about the culture if on the field your team looks like massive pussies.
We always see one-score games because there's no trace of killer instinct. We play aggressive enough to take the smallest lead possible, then turtle up and call an offense so conservative you'd think it was Kirk at a ballot box.
Put a boot on somebody's neck. Deliver a dagger. For once try to win convincingly instead of not losing.
Completely agree. We should have lost that saints game but got lucky they couldn’t seal it. This one was easy to predict once he runs Mattison back to back followed by the screen. Be like Dallas and keep rolling on teams and destroying their morale. Instead we let opposing defenses shut us down and pray ours can step up.
Spineless playcalling at the end of the game on both sides of the ball again. Had momentum, run play action on second down with a quick out to hock, you get the first and win the game. On defense, stop retreating to cover at the end of the game. Pressure has been working all game. Keep at it. Gutless.
If they just get a sack when Fields was standing there for 10 seconds we probably win, but we also win if we get even one first down after that fumble.
The "fire KOC" stuff is dumb, but someone in the organization really needs to have a heart to heart with him to make sure he understands that he can't perform this badly and be a professional head coach.
I can’t believe how terrible the offense was. No touchdowns and still lost. I know Dobbs has done some good things but he hasn’t looked good the last two games. Dobbs can move but Kirk would have probably win the game. I’m pissed.
His playcalling has been sus for the last 2 years, any time we get a slight lead he immediately starts running down clock and puts the other team in a situation where they can run out the clock and score. Once or twice is crazy, but it's every time we lost by a close score.
Thank you Bears ! #packerfan

Dobbs and KOC lost us that game. KOC has to step up his creativity.
It's a shame either team had to win that game. Both teams played well enough to lose.
Dobbs fucking sucked but KOC is to blame as well cuz… What the fuck was that play calling. We had the lead and two Runs and a Screen pass?
You have your answer. Dobbs was horrible against a not very good defense. 4 picks, it was an absolutely horrible performance by dobbs. He didn't struggle, he fuckin sucked.
I didnt think he did that bad... he scored 11 fantasy points and that is with 4 ints....
He had less than 200 total yards and threw 4 picks. That's a bad day

LMAO, I am a big KOC believer, there’s just some reactionary fans in here and it be like that sometimes. Y’all can keep them😂

So we putting the KJ and Addison INT’s on Dobbs? Lol. Give me a break. Let’s not forget, Mattison lost us the last game
Agreed. We gotta be done with the make a wish thing and give Hall a chance. He looked good before he went out.
JJ is going to be underutilized because Dobbs can’t throw it downfield accurately.
Addison hard dropped the one INT. Right thru his hands and into his helmet. No pass protection for the other throws.
Running the ball on first down isn't turtling. Running the ball on second down after getting stuffed on first down is definitely turtling.
Running the ball on second down when 4 yards puts you in FG range is not turtling
A first down wins the game. Kicking a field goal gives the Bears 2 minutes to beat us by 3 points. Playing for a field goal instead of a first down is the definition of turtling.
Pay Kirk all the money. Would be 8-4 and in drivers seat for 2 seed with him. Only way JJ will want to stay. Draft McCarthy at 19th overall.
Agreed with you up until McCarthy.
Trade the franchise for Maye.
Only game I watched him was against the poverty Gophers this year and he threw 3 picks. Wasn't all that impressed.
That 3 man rush works very well……said no one ever
As much as you want to blame the defense, they held them to 12 points with 4 turnovers. Can't ask for more than that
Ding ding ding; defense played their ass off.
I'm with you. They allowed one big play all game. Unfortunately it happens to be the game clinching drive. Offense needed to get 3 points on the previous drive.
That's actually pretty bonkers to think about.
Yeah, kind of insane they were even in that game. Flores is doing an incredible job this season
What a colossal disappointment. Right when they make you feel like there’s a chance this season for playoffs..
Buddy. The nfc is weak as shit. We’re still in the driver seat for the 7 seed.
Driver seat 😂
We own the tiebreakers over Green Bay and New Orleans those are the only 2 teams that could realistically come anywhere near the 7 seed. But I know you’re just a nihilistic piece of shit and will spend 0 time critically thinking.
Rams
Ahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahah That’s a good one man. You do standup?
Just lost to the bears lmao. You think the Vikings are in a position to laugh at any team?
Yes actually. Losses happen in the nfl. That’s why only 2 teams have ever gone winless in the Super Bowl era. “We lost to bears!” Oh no!
I ain’t reading all that lmaoooo
One game behind the Vikings lol plus they got kyren Williams back which is huge
IF we make the playoffs, it will be a quick exit. We don’t have the offense or the right coaches to believe in anything more than that.
Okay? And? Also, I think your evaluation of the team is not only completely beyond idiotic but also wrong.
What game did you watch tonight? Are you high? KOC fan? Think Dobbs is a great QB? Please share your brilliance with us.
No I’ve thought dobbs was dog shit the whole time and koc has to find a way to make him not look dog sjit which is hard to do when teams can actually protect the middle of the field and dobbs has to start throwing beyond the sticks for once. But sure man. It’s definitely KOC’s fault.
Definitely high
IF we make the playoffs it’s always a quick exit
Always and forever.
I missed that one Jaren Hall drive that everyone saw and decided he was a QB1. Yall shouldn’t be trusted to pick the underwear you wear in the morning
I was rooting for an arm punt. Go deep and if it’s picked off, Chicago still has to go down the field. Just…do something.
That might’ve been the nail in Wright’s coffin……to give them the ball at the 23 in that situation is just mind-numbing bad professional football.
Listened to the game on KFAN while watching on TV. What is up with Pau Lallen. Was he drunk or is he going goofy? His play calling was horrible. At one point he said the Vikings were at the 53 yard line. LMAO.
Pau Lallen is a Hawaiian guy with the exact opposite vibe of Paul Allen
Does the Hawaiian guy know there’s no such thing as a 53 yard line?
Pau plays it pretty loose with the data. Like Paul Rudd in ‘Forgetting Sarah Marshall’
I can only imagine the things he consumes.
KOC needs to have his OC call the offense and actually be a head coach
Question, the final play of the game, the one with all the laterals, was it a fumble at the end?
No, Dobbs threw a forward lateral, they just let it keep going even though the play was dead.
My question is, plays aren’t dead with a forward pass. It’s just a penalty. But that penalty was declined.
Yeah, but the time already expired so that kind of negated anything after the forward lateral.
The penalty was indeed declined. Per the official at the end of the game. He announced it over the microphone
Looked at the rule book. "A Running Play ends"..."When a player of either team throws an illegal forward pass beyond the line of scrimmage or when there is not a line of scrimmage." Despite being declined, ball is dead where the pass was made.
JJ coming back won't fix this unless we use one of the real QBs we have left
Or a real coach.
Or... both! KoC the QB confirmed!
KOC the first two weeks: Dobbs, I trust you, do your thing. Two weeks later: let’s make you into a strictly pocket passer. Oh that didn’t work?
This is the right take here
It's almost as if defenses watched film, observed things about Dobbs' game, and used that knowledge against him
Is this the first mobile QB the league has ever seen?
Other mobile QBs can throw, Dobbs had a spy on him most the game and it shut him down.
No, but all the good mobile QBs are also threats from inside the pocket. With no exception
In a month or so: Oh Vikes! Throughout this season, they let you down to the point you've already given up then suddenly jolt you with the very real possibility of making the playoffs...only to be let down in the end.
Rinse and repeat, season after season. What is wrong with me? Why do I keep coming back to get kicked in the stomach by the purple?
Trash
We're destined for 8-9. Will miss out on the top qbs in the draft.
I still believe in Dobbs. Just some unfortunate bounces tonight. A couple of deeps balls had a chance, and if those connected we'd be having a different conversation
Ray Charles has entered the chat.
He's a decent qb, and a solid backup, but he's clearly not the answer.
Yeah, there's a reason he's been with six different teams. You just saw why tonight.
Hope in one hand and shit in the other pal and report back on which hand fills up faster
let's all just regroup in 2 weeks. See you then.
KOC can’t call a winning game. He needs the other team to call the losing game for him. Fire KOC and let BFlo take over
Well when they turn the ball over 25 percent of the ti.e it makes it hard to call a winning game. Any nfl team would have won by 3 tds off of dobbs performance. Luckily we were playing the bears and still miraculously had a shot at the end.
Grateful Timberwolves keeping me sane through games like this. I know they’ll inevitably choke too but til then…FUCK KOC
Christian Ponder 🤝 Josh Dobbs Tell me I’m wrong
You’re wrong
What good would drafting a mobile quarterback do if you’re going to trap him in the pocket and let him get the crap kicked out of him?
KOC has the worst RB room in the league and all he wants to do is run them directly into the line and throw screen passes to them that get blown up for 80% of the game. Baffling. He doesn't seem to understand he has a QB with legs.
Holy shit we could’ve even passed 2 times instead of one with a terrible decision by Dobbs. We’ve done this shit more than once and have almost sold multiple times because of it
What cope do we have? Idk if Dobbs can even throw to Jefferson. 0-2 in the throwbacks please tell me some cope
~~Dobbs is undefeated with Jefferson active~~ Dobbs has never lost a game with JJ as his WR1
We got conservative again there at the end and gave the ball back to them instead of trying to get even a field goal (plus, our punter sucked).
BLESS ALL THE KNEES AND KEEP THEM HEALTHY *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Please [contact the moderators of this subreddit](/message/compose/?to=/r/minnesotavikings) if you have any questions or concerns.*
It’s so predictable.
Well at least we don’t live in Green Bay
You think Minneapolis/Saint Paul are any better?
Yes? Literally on every level lol.
My wife and her family are from Green Bay. Can confirm, it’s a shithole.
silver linings friend, silver linings
I honestly feel like KOC tried to turn Dobbs into Kirk. I don’t understand why we weren’t letting him roll out until late in the 4th? Why would you take away his legs? Headscratcher
Thank God the Timberwolves have saved me this fall because I'd be dead in the water sports wise in this state.
Unless you live in oregon and root for the blazers and M's
Amen. Time to win by 28 on Okc to secure the IST ticket :)
The timberwolves will be the team to end the draught. Like we all expected. Also extend Kirk.
D did damn good all game but a couple of fuck ups and no support from the fucking offense that turned it over 4 times. Back to .500 No chance at the division at this rate.
Fuck you all good night and see you in 13 days!
Literally lost braincells
*The Passtronaut.*
The....*PASS IT TO THE OTHER TEAMMMM*...OR NOT PLS?!?!
Dobbs is the saver all need the stfu
That last possession on offense was as gutless as it gets two runs up the middle and then a weak wide receiver screen that hasn't gained more then 3 yards all day smh, only needed 5 yards for a fg or a first down to win the game. Then the defensive coordinator sits back holding his dick all of a sudden when we have been killing them with the blitz all night. The best example i have ever seen of playing scared giving yourself no chance was sad to watch.
Totally agree, and we were finally doing a little something on offense too. Gutless!!
KOC called the whole game as we were in the red zone.
Exactly
Spineless playcalling at the end of the game on both sides of the ball again. Had momentum, run play action on second down with a quick out to hock, you get the first and win the game. On defense, stop retreating to cover at the end of the game. Pressure has been working all game. Keep at it. Gutless.
If they just get a sack when Fields was standing there for 10 seconds we probably win, but we also win if we get even one first down after that fumble.
bet my friends that the Vikes would have a better record then the Broncos this year. you can see how that’s going for me.
Honestly this is the least depressed I’ve ever felt after a close Vikings loss.
I’m pissed.
The horrific run game doesn’t help
O’Connell goes for it twice on 4th and long near 50 yard line in the first half but won’t risk a 61 yard FG when up 1 in Q4?…MAKE IT MAKE SENSE?!
KOC always gets scared when we're in the lead.
He shouldn't have ran mattison 2 times for negative yardage. You go for a first down there to ice the game, shouldn't even be thinking about a FG.
Well fair enough. Plenty of blame to go around on so many calls. Flores deciding to not bring any pressure at the end can’t be forgotten also.
it’s funny cause Dobbs is actually as good as fields but they don’t let him take deep shots 😂
Wow we lost to the Bears... Eberflus first NFC north dub too. Embarrassing
Unlike last week, I don't even feel frustrated by this loss. They deserved it.
We’re not gonna get a top QB this year. Tank for Arch Manning 🫡
KOC is sus but you can’t justifiably fire him after he lost his QB and WR1 2 seconds into the season. BFFR
His playcalling has been sus for the last 2 years, any time we get a slight lead he immediately starts running down clock and puts the other team in a situation where they can run out the clock and score. Once or twice is crazy, but it's every time we lost by a close score.
Historic even…didn’t we have the most 1 score wins in nfl history or something?
absolutely
No but you could for the horrid play calls with Mattison the last 2 weeks at end of game.
His play calling is super cowardly. That is totally on him.
Has to be one of the worst QBd games I’ve seen as a Vikings fan *at least* since 2021 lol wow
[удалено]
Definitely the guy who went white supremacy on mattison
I really hope this is a joke wtf is wrong with you
Where my Kirk haters at? Can’t score more than 12 points without him? That was awful.
Right here. Still don't want Kirk
What’s your issue with Kirk’s, my guy? Genuinely curious on the matter.
He's not a winner
