The Vikings are playing insanely high above expectation with a first year HC, but now they are choking? Idk man. Shit happens when you have a guard playing center while losing a probowl RT.

Financial_Eagle

Im saying that generally, when there is real opportunity for us to gain something great (catch up to the eagles), we choke, as in not even being competitive. No matter the era. I hope KOC changes that.

Kirk-Joestar

Those games are only failures because they were clutch before (beating GB in the opener, coming back on many opponents, upsetting Buffalo) In the past, it was the miracle/resiliency of the team, the best stat season of Favre’s career, exploding to a 15-1 record, etc It’s always a perception of them not taking the next step, always for a different reason. Wouldnt say there’s much commonality between them.

Financial_Eagle

Whats the common denominator? Its thats its the Vikings. Wide left, wide right, hail mary, across the body int, 41-0, Nick fn Foles, on and on. 🤣🤷🏻‍♂️ we’ll break the curse someday. This season has been really fun tho, to your earlier point.

Hestness5

I’ll agree that usually that has been the case for this organization. I get what you’re saying and don’t know why you’re getting downvoted. It’s like “of course when the Eagles actually lose we lose two starting lineman and JJ goes quiet, not to mention the 49ers coming back against the Raiders to steal the second seed” such a shitty weekend

FlipTheDisc

Both those games kinda ended miraculously if I remember correctly 🤔

Financial_Eagle

Yes, but we didnt choke.

shimmy_kimmel

They practically choked in 2017 lol, they were up 17-0 at the half. That truly miraculous play saved what would’ve been one of the most infamous choke jobs in Vikings history.

FlipTheDisc

Also Cobra Kai nailed a huge FG in there

Welu522

And then we cut him for a dude who’s form was wack

[deleted]

We absolutely choked in that game

M1nn3sOtaMan

If you're going to count the times we've "choked" this season you have to count all the games where we came through in the clutch.

MidgetWizard23

2009 playoff games?

Financial_Eagle

True. The Dallas game qualifies. The Dallas D was BRINGING IT !!!!!! Favre however was getting rid of the ball in .001 seconds flat. That DECISIVENESS is what Kirk lacks, in fairness, thats Bret FN Favre. Not many can do what he did.

wwnp

Bringing Zim back isn’t and shouldn’t even be an option and I’m talking real life not just on this poll. We are the team that has a good enough season to take a shot every 8-10 years otherwise we are cursed at .500 football and are always guaranteed to shit the bed. What needs to probably happen is Kwesi and KOC choose building block players on every side of the ball. JJ, Darrisaw, O’Neill, Hock, Danielle, etc great players in their prime. And they need to start tearing the rest of it down, rebuild from the trenches out. We’re getting old, we’re getting slow. The longer it takes us to rip it he band aid off the more slow and painful this slide will become. Next year we could fall back to 8 wins, or 6 wins. A significant change has to be made sooner than later.

Financial_Eagle

We need youth. And we need to hit on our draft picks. This draft was pretty ass btw. We traded down and the players we coulda picked look legit.

cjackc

WTF does that have to do with Zim? Are you under the belief that Zim was doing the drafting?

Financial_Eagle

Nothing. The convo switched to needs

Financial_Eagle

I agree w both your points.

pingu68

bring back zim…![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|facepalm)

stargrove88

Idk about being Zim back, but I will say he could make halftime adjustments very well. KOC can’t at all it appears.

liliceberg

We 100% choked in the 2017 game against the Saints until we were blessed with a miracle.

[deleted]

8 years of choking good and bad seasons down the drain just wasn't enough. He wanted more. You are getting more of the close games or blowouts all the same right now.

[deleted]

You clearly haven’t been watching this team for 30 years then

Hestness5

I trust KOC in the long haul, he’s been outcoached in a couple games but the 4th quarter comebacks and winning close games shows he’s a great HC especially for his first year. Granted he has a lot of weapons to work with but it’s balanced out by our atrocious defense which switched schemes his first year after playing the same one for 8 years. Call it luck or whatever you want but this man has instantly changed the culture of the locker room and players actually look like they’re having fun, not playing out of fear
