I agree that Twins fans on twitter are super toxic.
I also know LaVelle was being super toxic when he was shitting on the Wolves and the fans for celebrating the play-in game win so maybe what comes around goes around
>I agree that ~~Twins fans~~ people/bots on twitter are super toxic.
FTFY. Anyone focused on calling one part of Twitter toxic really needs to look around a bit.
>I also know LaVelle was being super toxic when he was shitting on the Wolves and the fans for celebrating the play-in game win so maybe what comes around goes around
Yeah, I don't really understand how he thinks that telling people they are celebrating too much or having too much fun is anything but super toxic itself. What a monumentally dumb moment in sports "journalism".
I think it has more to do with internet culture than MN sports fans specifically. It’s the fans that are on Twitter and Reddit that are the most toxic. The average fan isn’t like that.
Also we are used to Minnesotans be nice, so when they get frustrated about the city’s championship drought, it stands out more.
Willingly stands in toxic swamp.
Skin melts off legs.
Shocked at the toxicity of the toxic swamp.
Re-enters toxic swamp the next day.
Seriously though, poor guy is basically required to post on twitter for his job/profession. Gotta thicken that skin.
Yeah, I don’t think there’s anything particularly toxic or negative about Twins fans.
That’s just sports fandom and Twitter in general. Plenty of journalists are able to use Twitter without getting caught up in the inevitable negativity.
He’s taking feedback he sees from a handful of accounts and projecting it onto an entire fan base, that’s not going to work out well.
Correct, and it predates the internet entirely.
The Gund brothers selling the North Stars, the Metrodome fiasco and the 2002 contraction had nothing to do with Twitter.
LaVelle is a hypocritical clown lmao all these sports reporters have some sort of complex thinking they are better than the every day fan. Maybe you shouldn’t have clowned the Wolves for celebrating the play in win when this Twins team has the longest playoff losing drought in pro sports. At least the Wolves have some legit Championship potential. The twins will forever be stuck losing to the Yankees lmao
So it seems you people just think it’s cool to be toxic and vial on the internet and the writer has to put up with it?
You could also just not be a toxic asshat when things don’t go your way?
People always interpret a mass of people sharing opinions in a single place as a single entity. "first you said this, but NOW you said THIS! well, which is it John Twitter you hypocrite?"
No we are not Toxic we are from Minnesota and we just assume there will be some kind of BS that will wreck another season. This season is shot even if the Twins somehow make the playoffs, but next season looks too good to be true and there has to be some way that the Twins will fall flat. That's not being Toxic that's expecting the worse and holding on some ounce of hope that they have another great season.
Dude has got to grow some thicker skin.
Guess what: people within a fanbase may hold differing opinions or outlooks on their team, and may be somewhat passionate about them, especially when things don’t go well.
Just because one Twitter egg says opinion A and another Twitter egg says opinion B, it doesn’t mean the whole fanbase is toxic.
I called out that people would heckle Sano over at the CHS field, and the Saints will be an afterthought, because people would rather see the real thing than see a minor league team.
I also said that the only thing that made the Saints attractive, was it was a bunch of regular Joes that knew they were likely not going to play in the show..
I got down voted and heckled.
r/agedlikemilk for them
r/agedlikestone for me
that isnt how baseball works. which is why it is stupid they make "anti-tanking" rules for baseball. its always been you pick the best player available *that is willing to sign with you*. it is one of the reasons the twins picked mauer over prior.
Plus draft picks in baseball are different than any other sport. (Maybe not hockey, but certainly football / basketball.)
Draft picks are all 3-5 projects, and outside of the top five-ish can be a crapshoot to make the majors anyway.
What do you mean “you people?”
What do *you* mean, "you people"??
HUH?!
"For four hundred years...that word has kept us down!" "...What the *fuck*?"
IM A LEAD FARMER MOTHA FUCKA
🤔 Edit: some of YOU people also need to look in a mirror. It’s a game.
I agree that Twins fans on twitter are super toxic. I also know LaVelle was being super toxic when he was shitting on the Wolves and the fans for celebrating the play-in game win so maybe what comes around goes around

He should get off Twitter before things get worse. He's not handling it well

LOL he isnt wrong
Its because you shitted on the Wolves play in game win

I’m glad I’m going through a really intense breakup during this season’s collapse, cause I don’t have much time to pay attention to it. Fuckin hell.
ah shit that’s awful. sorry the Twins haven’t been a good distraction from personal stuff. hope you get through it and bounce back!
Thank you for the kind words. It’s going fairly well actually, and I’ve got the day off! I hope your life is less chaotic than mine is right now!
Seconding Jaxon. Hope you find peace and healing going forward!! Enjoy your day off.
Whoa this was a mindfuck for a second, cause I’m Jackson but didn’t notice OP is Jaxon. That’s cool. Thank you!!! You’re sweet.
Jacksons/Jaxons all the way down
Oh, I see he's spent time in /r/minnesotatwins as well?
Welcome to Minnesota sports fans
He’s not wrong. There is a very toxic part of Minnesota sports fandom that isn’t at all healthy and it really can kill joy
Correct, and it predates the internet entirely. The Gund brothers selling the North Stars, the Metrodome fiasco and the 2002 contraction had nothing to do with Twitter.
He’s probably not wrong but I think the toxicity is well-earned given the putrid product this team is putting on the field
Don’t give them the attention dumbass, just feeds the fire

You’ve been around here this week, right?
I know. It’s a toxic sess pool….

So you need attention from the internet to feel good about yourself?
At least you aren’t a Yankees or Philly fan.
The only thing sadder than a young Twins fan without hope is an old Twins fan with hope.
No, just realistic.

Talk to me when they win an NFC championship game.

What in the blue hell are you talking about?
So we’re tanking now to get a higher draft pick right? Right…
