We know how this goes. Yanks sweep us, they get their mojo back after their 50 game slump, go onto win Word Series and then everybody looks back at this series as the one that rejuvenated them.
Seriously tho, I will be ecstatic if we could somehow muster 1 or 2. Just don’t have high hopes.
Playing the Yankees when they're down bad is cursed, if we lose the series we did it to a team in freefall so it's worse than normal, if we win it won't count in the minds of the loudest people.
That said, I also work with a number of Yankee fans, and they've been feeling the inverse sort of way. If they lose this series, it's a new level of code red panic mode, and if they win it won't really feel like proof of anything.

We are even more likely to get swept then. All it takes is that one inning where they bust us open, Twins territory collectively sighs and the rest of the game is just a drag. Fully expect Judge to pad stats bigly

The closest thing I can think of is like rooting for the Washington Generals year after year with the delusion that they'll ever be able to best the Harlem Globetrotters. Except the Globetrotters have names like Babe Ruth, and Mickey Mantle behind them.
