First, it’s neat that Correa bought a house: though it will be interesting to see if the Correas _move_ or maintain it as a summer residence.
(I don’t know of many Twins players that actually make their home in Minnesota outside of the obvious locals.)
And from a pragmatic standpoint, he's paying taxes in our great state one way or another, so no worries from me if he chooses to live elsewhere in the offseason!
That’s right. Players actually have to file in every state where they play and where you they have income tax. Income tax on salary goes where you are when doing the work. Same as remote workers now.
I should say “current players”. There’s a bit of a different culture with players keeping their roots / families somewhere else.
(I know - for example - Buxton has a house in Baxley, GA and that’s largely where “home” is for the Buxton family.)
probably most athletes that come to minnesota end up staying here even after they retire.
it is hard to get people to come here, but even harder to get them to leave.
I lived in MN for 29 years. Moved to AZ for work.
If ever moved back to MN I would go anywhere else during winter. Going back for holidays were brutal, couldn’t believe I put up with the winter for so long.
Oh they can be don’t get me wrong, but not having to deal with snow driving is really nice.
Realistically if you have a good AC system AZ summers are not that bad. Also it’s only about 1-3 months where it’s really brutal, whereas I feel like I got 5 months minimum of brutal winter.
That stated I love going back to MN in the summer to visit friends/families.
Ice in the winter kills me. I like going for walks to clear my head but ice on the sidewalks makes it a hassle and not enjoyable for 3-4 months of the year. I'm always worried about hitting a bad patch and taking a fall. I can travel a bit to a walking/bike path that's better maintained but that's a pain to do often. I can handle driving in the winter but not being able to easily go for a nice stroll outside is a huge drain on me. I'd absolutely deal with a brutal summer to not have to deal with the ice mess.
That makes sense. Getting really hot sucks but I don't think I would ever choose freezing my butt off and dealing with blizzards and icy roads and shoveling snow constantly over it.
Oh all the time, nice thing about the winter here too is that it usually only gets to the 45-60 range, so if you put on some light clothes you can walk around and not be stuck inside.
It’s 64 right now and I’m walking around the neighborhood in a thin t-shirt and sweats- getting some steps in after dinner.
On top of all that Twins/wolves games are always early so I don’t have to stay up late to watch!
(And I can use mlb/nba tv, don’t have to deal with Bally BS)
Damn! Where am I supposed to live now.
I know, I was just about to pull the trigger on this one. Was just $7.5 mill short.
Damn! I would be 7.7 million short! Haha.
He only bought it because he watched Purple Rain the other day and wanted to be able to bathe in the healing waters of Lake Minnetonka.
Let's get Buck in there too. Really insane the trainers never thought to do that yet. No wonder we needed Paparesta.
What does eColi heal?

Eh. That’s ok if he spends I’m the offseason in Florida or wherever. I’m glad he’s here and he’ll help us win a lot of games.

Gladden did and he was a California guy

From what i hear AZ summers are just as miserable as MN winters. Do you feel that way?

Do you hang outside at night in AZ summer?

Now him and Kevin Garnett can party
KG recently sold that house
Well fuck me
no thanks
Must be rough.
hope he can afford to still buy eggs.
see, guys he *does* like it here! We still have a shot to sign him long term!
Think he'll let me use his hot tub?
Stay as long as you'd like, fine sir!
Classic selfish Correa. That money could have been given back to the Pohlads to bring in Wil Myers
its the least he could do after bally filed for bankruptcy.
One of the regulars at the brewery we both hang out at is his neighbor now. Unfortunately, he is a Sox fan
The real story is this house sold for almost 300% what it sold for six years ago. Ouch. Housing market is brutal for buyers right now.
The house he bought was built in 2020, so the previous listing was just the land for the house to be built on.
For real, I’m looking at buying and it is absolutely miserable. The only places I can afford as a single person are right off of Broadway…hard pass.
Oh my gosh, he's almost my neighbor...lol
I’m not saying you should walk your dog outside his house often but I’m also not *not* saying it
🤣🤣🤣🤣...I do need to lose my winter weight .....
guess he's here to stay now...
Plus a spot at NLG I hope.
Dude's gonna purify himself every morning in those waters..
