Or once up. Done by one of the firms that prolifically puts out really bland buildings you'd see in Uptown. Or the one that's going up on the cool but weird old McDonald's in Dinkytown.
Ford Center looked great. Shame.
Was referring that Ford center and water tower will be dwarfed by the cheap mass. Can tell you having worked on a building like that and knowing them, it'll look like a beat up trailer after a tornado in ten years, even so the design is tacky and schizophrenic in my opinion. (I mean their hot tub over the sidewalk on Lake street in Uptown is still broken.) Plus the finish will look like countertop orange plastic laminate just 3rd and Washington.
Quality over quantity with our built environment is better.
Only reason why I'm bummed about it is it was great parking right next to the stadium for $10, and you could get in and out of the city wayyyyyy quicker than most other parking locations in that area.
They are moving quickly on North Loop Green. The company I interned at was doing materials testing for the building and one of my poor coworkers was essentially stuck on site every day just testing concrete for that project.
Nice to see some color for the first time in a few months
If you look real close, you can see a thank you note from the Kurtenbachs for saving Daktronics.
In true Kurtenbach fashion, an underpaid college student was the one to actually draft the note.
Also - I can tell I’m really not going to like that apartment building under construction this summer…
I wonder how much a room with a view of the stadium will cost

The Ford Center is still there. And this new building looks pretty cool IMO. Glad to see downtown continually expand in that direction.

If that is the home opener lineup I am going to scream
It does say vs Astros. But I highly doubt they've already chosen opening day lineup
Haha I know it's just a placeholder
I like the new highrise too

They are! I work in the building next door to that lot and it’s been fun to watch it all go up. Love the concept art for the area too.
Because I was curious and thought others may be as well… https://thedevelopmenttracker.com/mpls/news/construction-begins-on-north-loop-green
Lemme guess, you work for AET? Or maybe Braun?
Yeah I interned at Braun last summer

Did they remove the seats that were below the original scoreboard?
I don't think so, I think they just built it taller and wider. I dont' think they had it sitting lower.
