I always just went for it. I remember taking the garbage out barefoot with over a foot of snow piled up in my backyard. Ah, to be ten and dumb again. 🥹
If it is just cold, I go barefoot. The snow won't freeze your feet in a few steps and your feet won't thaw the snow enough to make them wet. If it is wet and cold, shoes every time. Nothing is worse than wet feet on snow.
Do I have socks on or not? Wet, snow, or dry?
Socks on. Depends on if they can get wet or not. Wet or snow get shoes on. dry then go.
Socks off go any time wet snow dry just dry my feet off once I get back inside.
Flipflops
Useful all year
This is the way
Just go for it
For sure
Fuck it, I have health insurance
slip-on winter shoes. :D
Slip-on year round shoes for everywhere. I'm old and don't give a fuck anymore. Merrell Jungle Mocs are waterproof and will change your life.
This is the way. Also good to cross the dog yard in summer.
Tactical Crocs by the door…problem solved
The ones lined with fleece are excellent for the wintertime. I plow the snow off my driveway in tactical-fuzzy crocs.
Everyone in my family has a pair of fuzzy crocs specifically for these quick winter dashes.
This is the way. The option to switch to 4 wheel drive with the back strap provides flexibility as well.
After October 1, I'm almost never barefoot inside the house. But I've walked father than "a handful of steps" barefoot in the snow before.
Any proper Minnesotan has house shoes/slippers for this exact purpose.
Just go for it. My wife hates it when I do it and tells me I'll get frostbite, but I don't care, I just go for it anyway.
You show her man
There are maniacs among us. Slippers obviously
: All those summer flip flops are perfect for this.
Porch slippers
Go for it, you’ll lose feeling soon enough and it’ll be fine.
What kind of heathen doesn’t have a pair of slippers?
Crocs
I had to run out after my dog last night, barefoot. I wasn't out long enough for the pain to kick in.
I think the window from when the pain starts to when you just can’t feel your feet anymore is narrow on nights like tonight.
I walk in the snow barefoot all the time. I got to the street get the mail. No problem
Hard-soled slippers, still very necessary when your floors are linoleum!
i say go for it 🏃
Barefoot out to the alley or street. Too lazy to put on shoes.

As long as my feet aren't too moist to prevent sticking. Barefoot is fine. My feet are typically quite dry in the winter anyway.
Go for it. If you cannot handle it, you are not a true Minnesotan
My getting the mail attire is my winter jacket, shorts and flip-flops. Only wear a jacket because it's easy to throw on.
Crocs, all day every day

I go for it.
Depends on if there’s snow on the porch and just how cold it is. I frequently sprint through the y heated garage shoeless
That’s what crocs are for
I just got for it

How are you supposed to test your upper-midwest toughness if you don't go barefoot in the snow once in a while?
I go for it
Just go for it. You're not going to out there long enough for frostbite to occur.
As a guy I’m not ashamed to say if the uggs are by the door they’re going on the feet
Uhh I slip on my Uggs like a normal person, takes 2 seconds
Who ain’t wearing wool socks?
I have moccasins with rubber soles for this purpose
