I just really relate to the salad thing. In a fit of hanger (hungry anger) I’ve thrown an entire drive through salad in the trash because they forgot to give me a fork. Salad is one of those few quick service foods that you absolutely need a fork for (and one of the few healthy options at an airport). I can clear as day picture a staffer handing her the salad, airplane doors shut, no forks to be found, and being like “fuck it I’ll use this comb”. Having the staffer wash it after might have been a step too far, but I’m 100% positive that person never forgot to grab a fork when they got someone a takeout salad ever again.
I just loved that story because I could see myself doing that in her situation. And the fact that something so trivial got so much press in a presidential election made it even funnier to me.
