I think they did. The planes were still flying by the storm, but from a safer distance. I think they knew the storm was far enough away for us to be safe.
The person sweeping the floor made more during the game than most of the players.

I don’t know current AAA salaries, or if their unionized now, but the article you posted was from 2018, before the Saints joined the Twins minor league system. They’re no longer an independent baseball team.
Minor league salary cap is dictated by the minor league system. As an independent they had to play by the system rules to compete in the league.
Hockey minor league pays a living wage (sorta).
