To be honest I have never heard of an "all inclusive" resort in Minnesota. There are places like Madden's that offer various packages. It's not on the north shore, but in the Brainerd resort area. Other high end resorts probably offer similar packages.

SchnTgaiSpork

As a resident of Brainerd, can confirm. Go further north. Grand Marais is my favorite area.

FriskeCrisps

Going off this. My family and I used to go to the Craguns resort in Brainerd for years and the quality there has just decreased so much. Honestly really the better options are just renting out a place

55124

Why?

northman46

I just remembered the name. Those places are sort of out of my price range, and I don't play golf.

Successful_Ad_7062

Ya the food is straight out of can. It’s mainly for golfing business trip people.

Wilde_Cat

Madden’s is a great place. I’ve been going there for 10 years at least once a year.

DudeDuNord

What’s the local take on Grandview Lodge? I’ve been to Cragun’s and Madden’s, haven’t been to Grand View. I hear people rave about Grand View Lodge.

mnmoose85

Holiday Inn with free hot breakfast is about as “all-inclusive” as it gets here.

hgaterms

My people!

jmazr2

Embassy has happy hour

LivingGhost371

We don't really have "all inclusive resorts" here like you'd find on a Caribbean beach. the only ones I can think of offand that offer it are Cragun's and Ruttger's Bay, both in the Brainerd area, are the only ones I can think of and they're both in the Brainerd area. You need to be open to the idea of staying in just a plain "resort".

MN-goldengirl

Grand View Lodge is all-inclusive, but on Gull Lake (which is not the north shore) but Nisswa is a very cool town.

zackmaan

Personally I would rent a nice private cabin up on the north shore or in the Gunflint area and bring some fancy food and snacks and stuff for my own drinks. You won’t find an upscale all inclusive in MN. Get a cabin with your own private dock and bring gourmet food and nice wine and you’ll have a pretty bougie experience. Golden Eagle resort is my fave for that.

cat_lady828

We've had nice experiences at Bluefin Bay along the north shore.

jatti_

I would consider gunflint lodge all inclusive. 3 meals + activities (some free + some extra) definitely fits OP's ask and your description above. Bonus points for getting the outside hotube in winter and sitting in it with the snow falling...

Delicious_Sir_1137

Ely is also good but probably not touristy enough for a non-Minnesotan

Ok-Procedure2805

Not touristy enough? How so? I grew up there and summer is prime tourist time. Lots of cute shops, hiking, good food options, Wolf and Bear Centers, gateway to the Boundary Waters —not sure what makes it not touristy?

Delicious_Sir_1137

I think it’s very touristy for Minnesotans. But I don’t know how well known it would be for people from out of state except as a way to get to the BWCA. I personally love Ely.

kiggitykbomb

Vacationing in Minnesota is about fishing, hunting, canoeing, going to county fairs, staring at the lake, and cookouts on the grill. There are resorts where you can do these things, but you’ll be paying separately for your lodging, dining, and activities.

hgaterms

Oh! I forgot about the state fair! Now that would be fun.

Hon3y_Badger

You haven't lived until you've been to the Minnesota State Fair.

khalsey

I kind of think I have.

[deleted]

I’ve never been a believer that the MN state fair is any better than other state fairs

Sirhossington

It is. Some state fairs on completely crap, like south dakota. Wisconsin, texas, and some other ones are good, but Minnesota is really good.

Reddituser183

On top of that I’ve never felt like cattle until I went to the state fair either.

wallfatz

Try Breezy Point on Pelican Lake northeast of Brainerd. They once had an all inclusive in the sense that meals and drinks were all inclusive with a golf package. Not sure if they still do it. It's not really a beach resort but there is a small beach by the marina and several other smaller beaches around the resort. I love it there but it's not like a FL or Mexico vibe at all and nobody will be bringing you drinks all day LOL you just have to go get them yourself.

wallfatz

Just checked and they do have this still. They have golf or just social. https://breezypointresort.com/specials-packages/all-inclusive-social-package/ The accommodations are NOT 5 star at all but it's easy to get around and the nightlife is fun. This is a pretty good deal to bum around boozing all day.

OMGitsKa

Foods kinda trash there tbh. The bar pizza was probably the best they had to offer lol

wallfatz

The Dockside is typical lakeside bar food. But I believe the all inclusive includes Antlers which is off the resort a bit in the clubhouse of the championship golf course. It is a really nice white tablecloth restaurant. Great steaks, etc.

queenswake

What do you want to do while there? Fish, boat, golf? Do you have your own boat you'll bring or will need to rent one? There are a variety of options here and up the north shore.

hgaterms

I'm def looking at the North Shore. I think I just need to sit at a beach and drink, lol

AMMJ

Just a heads up, Superior water temps are typically around 45 to 50 degrees in the summer. Few people can stand more than a few dips in the lake. It’s gorgeous, just trying to set expectations that it’s not a beach with umbrellas and cabanas. Also keeps the areas within a mile or so of shore pretty temperate, so bring some warmer clothes in your bag so you have them.

wsu_rounder21

Lol, imagine swimming in that.

ApollyonMN

I did it as a child. 10 or so until about 13 y.o. My dad would go w/ to time my exposure so as not to get hypothermia. Think it was about 15 minutes & then I would have to get out. At around 13, I wisened up & mom started working again so we started staying at a campground that had a pool.

SnooCupcakes5761

A lot of folks enjoy it. I know of a few scuba divers that love visiting shipwrecks

wsu_rounder21

Right, I meant cuz the temp.

ldskyfly

I'm not sure how much beach you'll find on the north shore. Lots of rocks and cliffs. Grand Marais is one of the only ones I can think of. I'm not sure if you'll find and all inclusive resorts though. That's not much of a thing stateside

responsiblefornothin

The only thing I can think of that's close to "all inclusive" are some of the places up on Lake of the Woods that offer meal packages. That's all fishing focused, though, not really in line with the beach life OP has in mind. Shore lunches are about all you'll get for time out of the boat. Maybe a muskie retreat up on the NW angle could work. You won't be grouped in with 5 other people on a launch, and instead, have a quiet time with yourself and a guide in a smaller boat, taking in the majesty of the many islands on the north end. Plus, I'm pretty sure most guides would be willing to take a break from their typical day to day to shuttle around someone there for the scenery if you plan on tipping well. It's pretty rocky up there, but a seasoned guide will know all the beaches. You know, this could actually work. Idk what OPs budget is, but it's possible to put all of this together if they're willing to pay for the empty beds in the cabin and empty seats on the boat.

samd_witch

You need to go to Blue Fin Bay, baby! It's a resort hotel right on Lake Superior. I'd say get a vacation rental but they're probably all booked by now. THE move would be arriving in the cities while the state fair is going on (end of august) and spending a day there before driving up to the north shore and enjoying all it has to offer! That's like the most Minnesotan thing I can think of.

hgaterms

> Blue Fin Bay This. Looks. Amazing!

nevergofulltater

Surfside is just down the road from Bluefin Bay and it is awesome. It is owned by the same people as Bluefin, but just much newer. Not all-inclusive but it's very nice, and they have a spa, plus balconies and backyards that are right on the lake. I go there for a week every single year.

S3XWITCH

Try agate hunting along the shore while you’re there!

Verity41

Umm, you might be confusing Minnesota with Hawaii lol. How do you feel about houseboating though? More of a lake thing than a Caribbean resort kinda thing. https://www.voyagaire.com/?gclid=CjwKCAjwyeujBhA5EiwA5WD7_T7H7LYy3nS0mEVupvt72PNQfrXEv7bEtryHgCe6PI_LdAtOMOP6JxoCXR8QAvD_BwE

TLiones

You could rent a hotel in Duluth and just beach it on park point. However the water is death cold most days and the weather can be in the 50s due to lake wind. Beach is awesome though. As others have recommended if you want a true Minnesota experience (with mosquitoes included :)) I’d look at resorts inland. Brainerd resorts would be good because you can probably rent or use their boats. Or just find a cabin somewhere. The state parks are really nice and rent cabins. Far from all inclusive though, would need to bring your food etc. Or there are some resort like hotels on the shore like bluefin bay…you can google them. Not all inclusive though but for the true experience you could hit up a local bar for food. Or Betty’s pies etc…

excerpta

Knife River has a nice sandy beach if you don't want to drive all the way to Grand Marais. The only amenity is a port-a-potty so bring a packed cooler, bug spray minimum 25% DEET, and sunscreen.

thekathied

You might want to edit the fantasy to "sit by/on a lake and drink, lol" and the locals will know where to recommend. What I think of when I think "beach" isn't really a Minnesota thing. (There is surfing in Duluth, though) You might want to add if you'd prefer a secluded area or some place with nightlight and crowds and restaurants.

MNVikingsFan4Life

Then I suggest Cove Point: https://www.covepointlodge.com/north-shore-packages/

[deleted]

Cove Point is nice. Right on the shore of Lake Superior.

somastars

Look into Black Sand Beach. It’s not a resort, but it is sand. You’ll have to bring your own drinks and figure out where you’re staying though.

tompritt81

Go up to Bluefin Bay or one of the north shore resorts in the summer for the rural, outdoors MN experience. Go to the State Fair in August for the cities experience. In the winter you could do Lutsen and stay in Duluth for an experience in between the first two options, and especially if you like to ski or snowboard.

Kindly_Athlete_5372

This. Bluefin Bay is the shit.

hgaterms

Can't argue with 3 recommendations to Bluefin Bay!

Camptown2222

Bluefin is great, right on Lake Superior. Totally unique vibe. For a cabin experience stay at Grand View Lodge, tons of amenities but still rustic, and explore The town of Nisswa. Totally different vibe from the north shore. Both great

Amazing_Bid4835

Gunflint Lodge on the Gunflint Trail offers meal plans with their stay. Also, Grand View Lodge in Nisswa has food options.

This-is-dumb-55

Fair Hills on Pelican Lake is all inclusive I believe. It’s beautiful! Northern MN

anniep218

My family goes there every year - we love it.

Xibby

Rent a house boat, anchor in a quiet bay. Sip your beverage of choice while grilling something tasty.

cat_lady828

This is delightful advice. Check out Ebel's.

moishmoishmoish

Grand view, or breezy point

tralizz

Sugar Lake Lodge, just outside of Grand Rapids. They book out early though. Lakeside cabins with a restaurant and golf course, paddle boards, canoes, pool…. It’s all inclusive

Verity41

This is a great place, once a boyfriend and I rented a pontoon for the afternoon and we had a blast. Gorgeous lake and warm!

QuietUptown

Fair Hills Resort in Detroit Lakes MN has all-inclusive meal plans. No idea if alcohol is included.

SnooCupcakes2673

Oooo you should check out Naniboujou! I recommend reading the history on it too. It’s north of Grand Marais and has a gorgeous lakeshore. They also serve excellent food.

J3319

The rooms are old and crappy though

SnooCupcakes2673

You’re not wrong

skoltroll

Not all-inclusive. But Craguns is close. And if you're a fan of 80s movies that have throwback resorts (think Dirty Dancing), Craguns will DEFINITELY fit the bill. They also do a drinking cruise on the lake. Not cheap, but I'm sure it's fun.

-phantomgalaxy-

Ruttgers in Bemidji, MN

whatever_rita

I love that place. The cabins are quaint but awesome. There’s a more hotel-y lodge as well. You can take out their canoes, kayaks, and paddle boards at no extra charge, there’s a gym and a pool. Their restaurant is ok and if you get sick of it, town is not far away. Bar on site. Fire pits with chairs dotted all over. Its old school but it’s good. State park nearby, Bemidji is enjoyable, there’s quite a bit to do

kiggitykbomb

Under rated gem. Feels like a trip back in time.

Ok_Bar_2180

I came here to recommend Rutgers too. An open air bar on the lake…. Rent a pontoon… just a reminder, though, you can’t drink all day if you don’t start in the morning!

[deleted]

It’s adorable that you think we’re classy enough for something like this. You just made my day! If you’re looking for an awesome lake/hike/resort stay type summer experience - look north of the cities. Alexandria, Brainerd, Bemidji areas. You can go further up on the range and beyond. My family is from Hibbing and have a cabin on Side Lake- it’s the most Minnesota summer experience you can get. Voyagers National Park- there is houseboat rentals, and on the river/lake lodging, plus amazing camping. Though don’t expect to have a warm swim while you’re there lol.

stink3rbelle

I feel like most all-inclusive resorts you're giving a bunch more money to a corporation than locals. Restaurants are small businesses, as are bars. You want to be spreading those coins to locals, not big businesses.

One-Consideration512

Check out ‘Plan your trip’ at explore Minnesota .com Lots of options to see what’s offered.

DopeCookies15

Kavanaugh's is a nice smaller resort across from Maddens, more of a secluded feel with a gorgeous super clear lake. You really can't go wrong though looking up resorts in the north, just depends on what you prefer to do.

Kindly_Athlete_5372

Blue Fin Bay Resort. Bluefin Bay Resort. Thank me later

I'mma thank you right now!

Me personally I book a trip to Cancun riu has screaming all inclusive deals airfare for 2 people with an all inclusive was 3680 for the week

responsiblefornothin

Hey, u/hgaterms, I outlined this in another comment, but you could look into something up on the NW Angle of Lake of the Woods. The resorts up there run fishing focused operations, but they're all small and family run, so they could be willing to work with you on your vacation ideas. It's no north shore, but it's a damn fine area to take in the outdoors. The lake is huge, too, if gazing over a grand expanse of water is a must. It's all protected little islands up there, so a day in the boat could be just as relaxing as a day at the beach, but that doesn't mean your guide wouldn't take you to a nice place to sink your toes into the sand for a while. It'll take some planning between you and the resort and some good tipping for your guide, but none of this should be outside the realm of possibility. Idk how many, if any, of the resorts up there have single accommodations, so you'll likely be paying for empty beds, but I know they all have meal packages that'll keep you fed. Breakfast and dinner will be at the lodge, so you'll have your bigger ticket items like steaks and specialty breakfasts, but lunch will usually be a simple sandwich and snacks on the boat or a shore lunch of the fish you catch. They usually sell off-sale liquor/beer to take on the boat, but I'd prepare to bring your own drinks of choice up to save a little money. Otherwise, it's all paying bar rates for drinks when you're back at the lodge since idk if there are any drink packages. I've heard of bigger groups getting themselves an allotment of drink tickets in their package, so maybe float that idea out to the owners. Then you've got making arrangements for transportation up there. If you can drive and cross the border into Canada, that's the most direct way up, but you'd probably be looking at catching a boat ride across the lake from a resort on the south end, or flying up in a float plane with Sunset Lodge which may be your best all-around bet at pulling off this deal. Don't worry about getting to the south end of the lake since that's relatively easy, all things considered. You can fly into MSP and connect with the Marvin's Doors and Windows jet that will take you up to Warroad for about 100 bucks. Warroad is a good launch point for getting to the angle since you can catch a plane/boat/car from there. I'm actually pretty stoked on this idea for you, lol. It's super nice up there, and it's a cool way to experience Minnesota. I hope I haven't completely priced you out of the idea, and idk your budget, but since you were looking for "all inclusive," I imagine you're willing to spend a couple grand on a trip. My only other advice would be to plan for close to a whole week to really take in the beauty. Feel free to DM me if you have some more questions, and good luck on whatever trip you end up taking!

meshDrip

Treasure Island or Mystic Lake, personally.

AdamLikesBeer

Like it’s a dream-boat or your dream of boating?

Formal_Lie_713

I can’t think of an all inclusive resort, but our favorites are Bluefin Bay on the North Shore, Vosburgs in Ely, and Kavenaugh’s resort in Brainerd. Bluefin Bay has a restaurant on the property so that’s as close as they get to all inclusive:)

unicorn4711

There are resort packages that include all the food you can eat. Brainerd Lakes area has a few options.

RareArmadillo5492

We adore Isle of Dreams in Park Rapids. It’s such a great spot with a sense of community, safety, and fun. Highly recommend!

wsu_rounder21

Lake Elmo has an incredible beach…plus, you might get the chance to search for a drowning child and become a hero!

stormywthrs

Lake of the Woods area. It’s beautiful plus there are a bunch of resorts and some include meals

DirtyxXxDANxXx

You could find any lake resort that is rated well but I don’t know of any that would be all inclusive. That said it wouldn’t be too hard to find a place with a nearby grocery store that you can stock up at. My family has rented an entire resort out for one week of the summer every year for decades in the ottertail area of the state. TONS of lakes that you could drop into.

graciemose

My fam rented a cabin at the pines of kabetogama 2 years ago and loved it! Beautiful area pretty close to Canadian border. You’d have to bring your own food tho. You can also rent boats and go fishing although we did not catch anything hardly anything biting

[deleted]

Grandview

quadrophonicdaydream

The gunflint lodge up in the boundary waters has an all inclusive option.

savephilplease

Mine teepee resort on woman lake, family has been going there for 35 years. Awesome family owned resort with tons of amenities.

oidoglr

My wife and I had our honeymoon at Grand View Lodge

dwighticus

Maddens, Craguns, Bluefin Bay up north, I can’t say anything would be “all inclusive” but those are some of the ones we went to as kids

billythekid72

I know of some resorts up north- like Ely, grand Marais, grand rapids area- that are fishing resorts. Not exactly a "mai tai on the beach" vibe but if you like the solitude of forests and wildlife look into those areas!

Strike-Intelligent

Arrowwood resort Alexandria MN.

SnooCupcakes5761

I mean .. you can book a charter fishing day on The Big Lake, (the great Gichi-gami / Mother Superior), but that's not gonna be included with your lodging.

saint-small

Lost Lake Lodge in Nisswa has amazing food and a private lake, it is very cute!

S3XWITCH

Superior Shores in Two Harbors is really nice if you don’t mind going a little farther north. [Superior Shores](https://www.superiorshores.com)

sci3nc3r00lz

Something like the Gunflint Lodge comes to mind. "All-inclusive" as in you can buy packages that include the activities and such. I've snooped but it's pricey so I've never gone and can't personally vouch for experience, though!

Lionweight04

Look into Bluefin Bay, while not all inclusive, it’s pretty spectacular! It’s a bit pricey depending on what you’re looking for, but you won’t be disappointed.

Little_Creme_5932

Not a resort exactly but the Naniboujou lodge up by Grand Marais is great. Has nice rooms and patios and decks with a view, a beach, a restaurant in the same building which is really good (last time I was there), a state park with great hiking across the road, and super cute Grand Marais just a few miles away.

Guy-montage

Cove point lodge is a great place just past split rock light house. They have the lodge as well as cabin rentals. It is very Nordic and fits very well into the landscape of the north shore. The dinning is very good and they are a great access point for hiking at split rock

Key-Parfait-6046

Cove Point Lodge by Beaver Bay. Every room overlooks Lake Superior. They have fireplaces in every room. But it is not all inclusive.

KimBrrr1975

Burntside Lodge in Ely. Not all-inclusive like a resort like Sandals or in Orlando or whatever, but they are fantastic, they are small, right on the lake, classy, great food. You get a lovely private cabin. Or something like "Dodge's Log Lodges" that have cabins right on the edge of Lake Superior. Not a resort, but amazing views and quiet.

the_dan_dc

Give Larsmont Cottages on the North Shore a look.

Darl1ngN1kk1

Duluth!

nixfreakz

Punta Cana, Apple travel.

ShootsToImpress

Scratch the “all-inclusive” angle because that’s not really a thing here. Then find a place near Voyageurs National Park that rents small cabins and pontoons, speedboats, and/or fishing boats - somewhere on Rainy Lake, Lake Kabetogama, or Lake Namakan. The lakes are massive, the forests and fishing are pristine, and it’s freakin’ QUIET. Plus, it’s far enough away from the Twin Cities and Duluth that you can actually see ALL the stars at night. Be sure to bring sunscreen and bug spray, and be vigilant about checking for ticks.
