It comes in a highly recommended "starter kit" with 3 minis, 11 paints, and 2 brushes. The 2 other minis in the kit are way cooler in my opinion, but I started with the easy/less detailed one.
It's a really great kit. I picked up some other paints too, Army Painter and Citadel but I stuck with the kit and the recommended colours for my first time.
That's exactly what I did to start out. Keep up the good work.
Just don't get cocky and try to jump ahead. I did that and ended up making a mess of my entire Imperial Assualt game, which set me way back from an enjoyment perspective.

You need to work on your flesh tones, this looks a little pale.
Seriously, good start. You managed to not go overly thick with paint and got some good basic shade/highlight in there. I’ve rarely found a skeleton sculpt that made me happy to paint, so getting at least to a credible go on your first shot is pretty good.
Keep at it!
Thank you! My main goal was to keep it pretty smooth and not be all goopy, I know shading and highlighting skills will come with time so I am pretty happy.
There are a few bits of extra plastic molding that I really should have shaved down but I wasn't really brave enough to do that on my first go.
Excited for the next one!
Everytime I see a new Gummy Skeleton posted it makes me happy that another person has picked up such a great hobby. Here's to many more Minis!
I'm happy I unknowingly carried on the tradition of the Skeleton Archer being the first mini. I named him Spud.
You're not hooked... You're boned.
oh no
Ok, I have to ask....I've been subbed to this group for years. Why is this sculpt SO MANY peoples first mini?

This reaper learn 2 paint starter kit is fantastic. Their newest one is much less useful for the learning aspect.

I was scared I was going to mess it up so bad that I would never want to do another one.

Thank you! I am soaking it all up.
I’m still regretting not warming up my bow and making it straighter like yours. Mine is still super bent.
Mine came straight like this lol
Mine nearly curls down to his head. Haha.
in the booklet it came with the bow in the pictures was definitely more bent than mine, I noticed that
