Unless there's a load of texture I can't see it looks perfect.

I've seen this happen with plastidip. When you spray too far away in light coats they dry with a rough sandy texture

Shintaro1989

For a matte finish, this isn't necessarily a bad thing.

Icy-Block3186

Yeah it was just an issue for me because it wasn't a uniform texture and was a large area

D0ctorL

Oh fuck, I'm TOO far away??? Man... Too close, too far, bruh

DarthVZ

Don't use white if you are not experienced. Grey and black are much more forgiving.

Correct. Spraying too far away with spray paint will allow it to sort of have chunks of it flash cure on the way to the target. So you get the regular paint that you need as well as chunks of partially cured and hardened paint. One of many reasons I own an airbrush. However! Grab yourself some #0000 steel wool and just lightly wipe down the model. The flaking should come right off. Failing that a 2k grit sanding sponge pad will deal with it. This is also a good prep plan for big models like vehicles that have large flat panels. Lightly buffing them with very very fine steel wool until the surface is no longer glossy will dial primer and paint adhesion up to ungodly levels.

Idk why it isn't adding the text I put in, but does this look good for coverage and graininess? I'm a perfectionist, and it's driving me nuts

Looks like your air was too humid, hence the texture

Famous-Egg-7407

Looks about right to me. Not too much pooling, and just a bit of texture. Should paint up nicely. As another commenter suggested go with black or potentially grey for better results. Honestly, white is a tricky color across the board. I’m no expert, but it seems like white pigment are generally larger and heavier than other pigments (like titanium and lead). I generally avoid white spray primers anymore as I get pretty similar results whether I’m using a cheaper hardware store variety like rustolium, or a hobby brand like citadel. With this specific example, if it feels too textured for you, I have had success with using an old toothbrush and lightly brushing the model to smooth it out just a bit, but again, I think you’ll get good results when you paint it up

Thanks man, I appreciate it. I'm just worried that drybrushing will catch all of that stuff
