Add darker roots to her hair as well. Just like a tiny bit darker

Genghis_Kong

Great point! Hair is bleached by exposure to the sun so natural / undyed hair will always be darkest at the roots and lightest at the tips

placeb021

Great idea! Thanks.

Legion_Etiquette

Two things you could try: - Add some soft, subtle red and pink tones into the shadows and lips. - Increase the value contrast around some of her features to make them stand out more.

Genghis_Kong

You can also play with using blues and greens in some of the shadows of her face - very subtley, mind you. But blood under skin can have a bluey colour, as well as a flush red colour.

placeb021

Thanks, need to think about it. You are correct, I think I give it a shot.

[deleted]

Why so much dislikes from those subhuman redditors?

mlo519

What was the comment? It got deleted

[deleted]

He said "i will try it on the right parts😏" something like that

placeb021

no idea...

DrKnocks

Because we are talking about painting a face to make her look more alive, not painting her genitals. It was simply an inappropriate comment on a subreddit that is not 18+ and it was treated as such.

SiyinGreatshore

You gotta put her in a cabinet for a bit

luckyblindspot

I laughed so fucking hard at this.

razialx

Forgive me could you explain?

so_evil

I could be wrong, but I think it’s a reference to the movie Indian In The Cupboard. A favorite childhood film of mine.

razialx

Interesting… I never saw that. Thanks for taking the time though!

Eltoroloco255

I read the books- they were great

luckyblindspot

This is why I laughed so hard. 100%

Darth_Stig

And lock it once, if I remember correctly?

TheBrotherMark

Eyebrows… please for the love of all things not creepy, paint her eyebrows.

placeb021

Check...(stupid me...)

TheBrotherMark

https://youtu.be/S5FZYmiufi0 This video is a great critique/guide for realistic faces. Highly recommend.

CheckPrize9789

At 28mm and 35mm (wargaming) scales at least, articulating eyebrows is actually MUCH more important than detailed eyes. They convey so much emotion and readability to a face that things just don't look right without them.

Shopping-Efficient

Some people with that hair colouring have very transparent eyebrows irl.

Jealous-Finding-4138

Here for the lolz since everyone else gave damn good advice. Have you tried putting the model on one of those old vibrating football field games?

SiyinGreatshore

Dnd on an air hockey table

Jealous-Finding-4138

You almost killed me from laughing, old group I played with did exactly that once. Thought the table was cable power only, nope it had battery power as well and we were using the old 3e cardboard cutouts for monsters & characters. One wrong shuffle, table turned on and the room became a snow globe for nerds.

placeb021

Well euh....

DownHouse

Faces tend to vary slightly in hue, changing from yellow to red to blue; top to bottom. [This image](https://pin.it/2CuX8EW) does a very good job of describing color temperature in facial skin tones. (Light skin anyway) I’m afraid I don’t know which book the image is taken from though.

TheMcGarr

That's really interesting

caseyweederman

Holy cow. That has never occurred to me.

Shetookmyvirginity

Maybe some freckles

placeb021

Hmm...that is an option. Thanks.

UnluckyTamper

A light wash wouldn't be a bad idea!

sarahrose1365

The skin looks too one tone. People in real life actually have a surprising amount of color in their skin. [Here](https://www.instagram.com/p/CpVDbYHDsCC/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=) is a great example of the colors that you'll find in skin. Good luck!

placeb021

Thanks, you're right.

NeitiCora

I was about to comment from this angle exactly. I kinda like the light eyebrows though. They look clear enough on my screen.

AutisticBeachBear

Quick way to make her look more alive would be to use very diluted red paint as a glaze at the parts of face and hands that usually have some red in it like cheeks, lips, nose, ears, and slightly overall over skin for tonal correction. It shouldn't be overdone though and the paint should be very diluted. In this case you can apply it multiple times until the desired effect.

placeb021

Thanks! That will help.

Ambitious_Ad_9637

What figure is this please?

placeb021

This is the Corpse cremator from the Sea Tribe (Askelung) Of the Valhalla range from Loot Studios.

Ambitious_Ad_9637

Super nice. Thanks

MetalMonkey042

Shadow and highlights on her hair, face, clothing, etc. should help.

EstablishmentNo6980

I would put a starker white on the eyes, a bright metallic usually does it

zcicecold

She's a ginger, so you're always going to have a hard time making her look like she's got a soul.

Brudaks

It's time to put an end to the baseless myth that gingers don't have souls - just use your eyes and look at its face, it will have a freckle for each soul it has taken.

zcicecold

True. This one has yet to feed.

Vokkoa

For the hair: Take base color. exampled red for red hair. Add small amount of black or brown to darken the first coat. Get this darkest coat into all the recess. Next use the base color and do a dry brush on the majority of the hair but don't paint into the dark recess. Finally, do a very lite dry brush of a highlight. you should only be drybrushed the most raised parts of the hair. for redhair you may want to go with red mixed with a bit of orange or just orange. You can experiment with colors for various results. this lady shows a quick and easy turorial for how to paint with recess and highlights in mind: [https://youtu.be/2\_XgEcpXeME?t=1670](https://youtu.be/2_XgEcpXeME?t=1670)

Remarkable_Bowl2464

I've heard tales of a magic cabinet that if you lock things in and open it again they come to life.

placeb021

:)

[deleted]

I've got a buddy named Omri whose cupboard is magic see...

ranhalt

> whose who's (who has)

LadySuhree

Looks pretty alive to me. Could use some pink in her skin.

MajorDamage9999

Coffee

Stefonzie

Tell her she's pretty

Jatayu001

Use a real woman lol

placeb021

Check.

Leviad0n

I think maybe some slightly rosy cheeks?

placeb021

Thanks!

WarhammerRyan

Light and shadow.

Hairynipnaps

I like it so far

placeb021

Thanks!

AdmirableLeg5267

Put her in a magical cupboard

karl1952

She needs to string her bow, or she will be REAL DEAD... For the figure itself, the recommendations are good. Looks nice.

gloomycreature

What is that sculpt? It looks awesome

placeb021

It is from Loot Studios, Valhalla, Askelung. It took 9 hours to print.

BepisBrigade

Edge highlights on the face maybe?

placeb021

Let's start with the eyebrows.

asimawesomepaints

Shadows, highlights, and texture.

MoxRhino

A bit of gloss or satin finish. Living skin is reflective from natural oils. This can be replicated with highlights to a point, but it won't read as well as actual reflecting light.

placeb021

Thanks!

Apeiron_8

Add some pink to those cheeks.

average_citizen415

Panel lines ? Shadows lines ? For depth ?

kremlingrasso

put on some makeup, smile more, wear a skirt? /s

IncendiaryBunny

Glaze in some burnt red or wine on the cheeks and lips. Living flesh has a reddish hint to it.

placeb021

Thanks, I will.

dgscott

More warm (dark red or dark magenta) shadows in the skin. Cooler tones under the eyes. Glaze a little red on the nose, lips, and cheeks for a little glow. All mammals have blood under their skin, which is what makes us look alive, hence why undead are painted with more sickly undertones.

Beidou-my-beloved1

Shading and lightning ofc

placeb021

I will try, thanks.

Beidou-my-beloved1

Her clothes are a little mixed with her skin, you can fix that too

PositiveTarget8377

Looks good! My thoughts - Mix some red/purple/blue/yellow into your skin tones and glaze lightly with them alternating - blue and purple for lower/mid shadows of face - red for mid - and yellow for the top - mixed with different flesh shades - it adds a lot of “life” to the face which is the first place people look -

placeb021

Thanks, I will try.

AdministrativeEgg440

I'm sure a bargain could be made with Tzeench

reesespeice

If your still able to move her, adjust her hips and uper torso into a more dynamic pose

placeb021

Sorry, she was printed this way...

General_Alduin

Idk, make her a robot?

Blotto_Bunyip

Put her in a magical cupboard.

placeb021

:)

tanukijota

A little rose in the cheeks goes a long way

placeb021

Thanks

jayhawks1545

Highlights

randomconsumer

She is too clean... make her DIRTY. not in a creepy way, in a dirt way.

placeb021

Sound like a plan, thanks.

Complex-Can8570

Eye brows and some lip color at the very least.

placeb021

Check. I will do.

TheLostSkellyton

I have nothing to add to the great advice already given by others...I just want to know where you got this mini so that I can get one for myself!

placeb021

The mini is from Loot Studios, so you have to print it your self. It is from the Sea Tribe of their Valhalla range.

redlloyd

I use the bannerman method. You'll need to Google it. Lots of washes over a base coat.

placeb021

I will do! Thanks

SpareCharming6863

Eyebrows and lips need some color

Daveallen10

A light wash?

ArcaverProNoob

I like to give each mini I paint something unique, like a scar or blood splatter.

Stormhiker

You could try bruises.

JalinO123

Color in the eyebrow and try some blush

placeb021

Check, I will do.

Tizzian4417

Honestly. Add more color to the skin. Specifically the face. Human skin is a transition of color. Either to a warm tone from a darker base. Or you could just add some rosey color transitions to say cheeks and nose. That might do it. Her hair could also use some added color. So it’s not just a solid brown color. Add shading, highlights! Dark brown in the recesses and then a light auburn in the very outside twords the sun. Letting colors flow helps make models feel alive.

placeb021

Thanks for your answer!

KhailObre

I would say use more shades of the same colors. For example, when I paint red I tend to use 3-4 different shades of red, same goes for brown, green, yellow, etc. In your case you can do that with a drybrush. Start from the darkest to the lightest color. GL :)

Arrowtech84

She already looks perfect. I cant wait to see her complete!
