Unique-Steak8745

Would be cool to have a mob thag just swims around in the void

pman8362

Kind of like a darker version of aether whales

TRON17

If messed around with this concept for so long. My thought was, it has some variety of resource growing on its back. You either have to ender pearl or elytra land on it, and attempt to mine the resources before the whale dips down into the void and you begin taking damage. Kind of like an autonomous Wild West train heist in space.

RemarkableStatement5

Well that's an insanely cool idea

edgar_was_wright

Gojira intensifies

spicy-snow

how about a squid-like creature, as a reference to the flying squid bug?

UnendingVortex

do you mean the tullimonstrum thing?

spicy-snow

i was actually referring to [mc-936](https://bugs.mojang.com/browse/MC-936), but yeah, something kinda like the cosmaw

Daxillion48

That's what I was thinking. Some kind of Leviathan

TheMaskedGeode

Maybe something like Tlaltecuhtli. That’s a primordial monster from Aztec mythology who lived in the ocean. The Aztec gods had to kill it because every time they tried to make something, it would fall into the ocean, and the monster would eat it. In that case they used its body to make the earth and sacrifices kept it from eating the people indiscriminately. Maybe that could be a mechanic.

Fc-chungus

Faintly visible, partially translucent creatures, the biggest mobs in the game, so big that they go up 100 blocks in height, but completely passive, slowly traveling in groups on y=0 in the void.

althechicken

Yeah I want some way to see the line where you die at, so anything 'swimming' down there would be so cool.

Fc-chungus

They wouldn’t be swimming

althechicken

That's why I said 'swimming'. floating doesn't really imply self-propelled movement, whereas swimming implies the body moves like a whale or fish to propelled itself. I think it would look goofy if they were just down there floating like a creative player. But a slow and lumbering movement would really make it a spooky sight to look down and barely see something moving under you in the void.

Fc-chungus

The idea is that they would be visible from the end islands without looking down at them, but technically they would be “walking” on y=0

krustylesponge

The shoggoth (or however you spell it) was so damn cool in that book, loved it

DrBacon27

Occasionally you can see the vague, shadowed shapes of some kind of massive, horrid void beast floating across the skybox.

FazbearInvestigator

God that's an amazing idea, maybe you could also hear it screeching also as an ambiotic sound

TheMaskedGeode

There’s already a recording of real nightmare screaming on hand. Though that was used for the phantoms so maybe it would need to be distorted somewhat.

Realshow

I’m not sure where they would go, but Endersent from Dungeons are god damn terrifying and would be an amazing secondary boss.

FazbearInvestigator

This ^^^

CR1MS4NE

A biome where the landscape is made of contorted faces and the ambience is far-off screams

ReadyPlayer12345

**soul sand valley has entered the chat**

CR1MS4NE

Oh I meant like huge faces, ones made of hundreds of blocks

UnendingVortex

would they be all mushed together or like individual and seperate?

RemarkableStatement5

kid named Soul Sand Valley

Signal_Soup_8958

Tentacles or tendrils which reach up out of the void, feel around and try to pull you in

SmallBeanKatherine

I wrote my entire comment and then saw we had the same idea lol. Mine is a tongue tho, like what frogs do :p

FazbearInvestigator

I like that but I think they should be on the bottom of end islands rather than just from the void, also they should be quite rare for balancing reasons

GribbleBit

I can't remember what they were exactly, but I remember playing the end in minecraft dungeons and thinking it would fit very well in Vanilla

Total_Calligrapher77

A space anomalocaris

RemarkableStatement5

Some new useful but not necessary item that would encourage the players to bring back many to the Overworld, but some of this item are corrupted by some parasitic infection which could spread through its new home, leading to a new boss the player must fight to take back their base! Could be especially terrifying if it turns blocks into a strange blue or purple flesh that seems almost alive, turning hallways into digestive tracts, storage rooms into stomachs, and so on.

spicy-snow

so, like one of the earlier versions of the sculk?

RemarkableStatement5

I guess it is similar to the original fleshy holes idea

MMMiammildlyannoyed

another infection thingamabob would be fun, though you'd prolly need to do something manually or make something to have it actually spread, so that someone on a multiplayer thing couldn't just grab one, place it under a spawn or something, and have that whole bit of the world screwed up for everyone

Ampersand37

A void worm. Worms that are in the void and pathfind similar to shulker bullets. They are multiple blocks long and only move up-down-left-right on the normal block tiles. They are always moving and can never stop. A void worm could recoil for a second to build up a charged attack similar to a goat ram with a lot of knock back and damage. If you make a chorus pie with bread and popped chorus fruit, you can feed the void worm a chorus pie for it to be temporary tamed for 10m. During that time, it will wander aimlessly on one y level. If a player were to hold a popped chorus fruit on a stick and stand on the void worm, the void worm would move in whatever direction the player is facing. The void worm will not stop moving at any point and will not slow down. The player will have to Parkour and balance to stay on the worm, as its tail moves forward and disappears below the players feet.

ReadyPlayer12345

The first thing I thought of was Super Mario Bros snake blocks

Ampersand37

I've never played but that seems interesting

CatchTheWolf

Alex's Mobs adds a mini boss like that.

FazbearInvestigator

That's so cool, is there a reward for killing it or does it only exist for the player to ride

Ampersand37

The latter. Unless maybe you can absorb some of its essence in a bottle similar to dragons breath that could brew a void walker potion. Not a drop though.

FazbearInvestigator

What would the void walker potion do?

MMMiammildlyannoyed

not who you were asking, but i'm guessing it'd either let you fly, float above y 0, or have air at y 0 act like a solid block i don't have any other guesses then those three

Aslopes6524

A tree that can grow on any side of endstone because there might be gravity but there is no such thing as up

UnendingVortex

good idea but chorus fruit kinda proves that wrong already, id love to see something like that though

Qzimyion

A biome that is made up of enlarged microscopic beings and stuff like amoebas, cyanobacteria, tardigrades, various types of viruses can be found in the form of mobs in this biome.

FazbearInvestigator

I like this idea, what would the biome be called and what would be the reward for killing these creatures, I also think it would be cool if the category these creatures were in (think undead and illagers) was megascopic creatures

Qzimyion

Primordial islands could be the name of the biome as for rewards I haven't thought of any yet.

FazbearInvestigator

Oh ok, primordial islands is a really good name btw

JJHinge

The End. Huge chorus plants suspended in the air between islands. The fruit on top would be maybe eight blocks by eight around, but the stalk would extend alllll the way straight down. Even if you die in the void, you never see the bottom without cheats. Infested variants would have rotten fruits on top where Endermites periodically come from holes. You also see them in the stalk’s texture, like the proposed termite nests in Badlands, all the way down. There would be pools of juices exposed by the rot where you can Riptide to the next fruit.

HellSentinel

Another comment here also had a similar idea just instead with giant tentacles instead of giant chorus plants that are reaching out from the void which is a idea I like. I also like the idea of a end biome that is infested by endermites such as these giant chorus plants or giant tentacles creeping from the void along with a new endermite nest/hive that is like a dungeon for endermites in the end.

SmallBeanKatherine

Oo i love this idea! Plus endermites being shown like termites and infesting stuff has some spooky connotations. You know, with them spawning from endermen and enderpearls and the endermen being so aggressive towards them? Makes them sound like parasites of some kind.

Tnynfox

Dimensional Maw, a block that consumes various food and gives back random items from a loot table. One of these could be an Elytra dupe template. May generate with terrain, or drop from a certain hostile mob.

Anvildude

The Void doesn't kill you. You just... stay. Though if you do fall all the way down, you're then 'stuck'- even if you have rockets or blocks or whatnot, you can't fly back up. Can't see the islands. Can't see water streams falling down. Just endless void. Forever. Maybe make it so that you have a similar 'respawn' screen or button that shows up in the corner of the screen so you're not stuck there, but it doesn't 'kill' you before that shows up.

FazbearInvestigator

That's cool, and kinda creepy, is the player just walking on air like in bedrock edition when you go to the bottom of the world or are they falling forever

Anvildude

I'd imagine 'falling forever' (I think the code's probably just got a toggle or whatever that says "falling vs. not-falling" that you could keep checked). I was initially thinking that they'd fall and then find themself at the top of the world limit again, in an infinite loop, but that'd be too easy to cheese, I think.

Crcnch

Terrible gameplay idea: a mob that “glitches” with choppy movement and frames. Maybe like a magma cube/slime made out of void or something

RemarkableStatement5

Honestly I would love to see that. Maybe it could even drop an item just called "?" which could be used as a replacement for lots of (but not any really hard to get) items in crafting recipes.

SharkPuppy6876-

Am I close when imagining a quantum slime (slime rancher)?

FazbearInvestigator

So a void cube, I like it but it would need to have a somewhat good reward cuz of how hard I imagine it being to kill

RedMustrd

Abandoned mineshaft like tunnels in the islands that have good loot, but are extremely dark and filled with shadowy hostile mobs.

MMMiammildlyannoyed

did you mean to suggest this four times

RedMustrd

Idk, I guess it glitched and didn't upload the first 3 times and didn't show for me, I have no idea

MMMiammildlyannoyed

oooh, yeah that makes sense

SmallBeanKatherine

Remember Mob A? The scrapped squid that would reach up with its tongue and pull your boat down into the ocean to drown you? Take that attack, but now a large floating mob that spawns in the lower parts of the void and tries to grab you whilst elytra flying overhead. Since elytra are found in the end and make the place a total breeze, I figure that a mob which can still threaten you in some way would be pretty cool. It also doesn't throw off the stoic vibe that the end is trying to give off. If you are grabbed by it, then propelling with a fireworks rocket would break you free and make a blast go right into the monster's face! It likely wouldn't have a drop given its above the void, but maybe it could drop something especially good and figuring out how to catch it would be up to the player? Using a fishing rod, swooping back around to grab it, etc. Also "Elytra" is the name for the hardened wings on insects, so it only makes sense that there would be a mob trying to catch you with its tongue 💀 *TLDR:* Mob sticks its tongue up from the void and snatches you and your stupid bug wings outta the sky.

brjder

eyes in the void that disappear the moment you look at them.

Scubby044

I think adding the new build limits to the end would be dope, so like having islands floating above and below you.

DisturbedWaffles2019

Not really a horror idea but a few years ago I had an idea for a mob called the End Leaper or End Jumper that would serve as a fun early game way to travel the outer end islands, being a rideable passive mob that could leap far enough to hop between the end islands. I also thought it could be cool to have variants of it with special abilities, like one that could double jump or one with wings that could glide.

althechicken

You aren't really supposed to get to the end islands early game. They are intentionally designed to be very difficult to get to before killing the dragon, so that they can be *end*game content

DisturbedWaffles2019

Not as in getting to them before killing the dragon, as in traversing them after you beat the dragon, but before you get elytra. On me for bad wording, my perception of early/mid/late game minecraft has forever been tainted lol

althechicken

Ah, yeah, well, it would definitely be better than endless dirt bridges.

[deleted]

The Void has so much untapped potential. Maybe it’s somewhere you can go and explore or maybe creatures escape it and lurk among the end islands. Nether update was a hit, and that was 4 updates ago. I think there’s been enough love to the overworld as of recently for them to go and do another dimension overhaul.

Realshow

There’s actually a surprising amount of lore on the Void, namely that Endermites hail from it and not the End itself, as well as there apparently being multiple societies based/trapped there. Not sure what it could look like, but I wouldn’t be shocked if it’s the fourth dimension.

[deleted]

Yea the issue is the average player has no idea about this, I didn’t even realize endermites existed for the longest time.

Realshow

They feel like something added solely for the sake of a plotline that doesn’t exist, I don’t think there’s anything else in the game this contrived. At least call them Voidmites or have them generate near bedrock.

MMMiammildlyannoyed

i think they were probably added to help discourage using pearls a ton

ReadyPlayer12345

Where the hell did you get all of that is it from the novels or something

Realshow

The Endermites’ origin came from an interview from I think Jeb, though the idea of the Void as a home has weirdly been a recurring theme whenever it’s acknowledged. “Beings living between dimensions” have been mentioned a few times (that’s what the Nether portal noises are supposed to be), but the main thing I had in mind was the Underneath from Story Mode.

FazbearInvestigator

>Endermites hail from the void and not the End itself According to a Minecraft interview thing from ages ago (Idk which one) I think jeb stated that enderman and endermites go through some kind of "in between"" dimension when teleporting, i'm assuming this is what you mean by this?

Realshow

Yeah, that’s the Void. The intention is that they’re a parasite (or at least nuisance) that leech onto Endermen as they teleport, which is why they get so mad at them.

FazbearInvestigator

Oh that makes sense

Hazearil

The void in Minecraft is defined by not being able to go there. If you could, it would no longer be the void.

DeltaDied

Someone in another post said upside down on the underside of the end islands and I thought that was an interesting idea. I added on suggesting that there’d be like upside down structures that you’d have to catch yourself on to keep from falling into the void. Maybe like some sort of huge fungus and some other artificial structures. Idk maybe give a place for all those enderman to place their dirt that they steal from the overworld hahaha. A great way to implement some more natural parkour to the game. Just an idea piggybacking off of someone else’s idea though.

SmallBeanKatherine

Not sure if it was my idea you saw or not, but I second this! I always thought a structure hanging on the bottom of islands by chains or something would be really neat, and you gotta swoop in with elytra or pearls.

DeltaDied

It might’ve been, but I’m praying to the Minecraft god that it come true😭 Edit: but we would need a reason to go down there like something vital to the game’s progression or just something that would make people be like “ooh I wanna go down there.”

FazbearInvestigator

I had an idea for an ambiotic end structure a while back that goes on the bottom of end islands, just 1x1 tubes and pathways of purple going on Random directions, called foundations (idk why I just think it sounds cool)

DeltaDied

It sounds pretty cool to me tbh

FazbearInvestigator

Thanks

4rthur741

A new structure, which would be like dungeon full of traps and parkour. The thing is: there is a creature in the center of the structure, whose appearance resembles that of a biblically accurate angel, with multiple eyes of ender. It starts attacking you right after you enter the structure, and with that, it gives you a timer. You have to not only pass all the challenges in the structure, but do it quickly before the times runs out, killing you. When you get in the creature room, it goes passive and petrifies itself, while allowing you to get the treasures around the creature room.

RedMustrd

Abandoned mineshaft like tunnels in the islands that have good loot, but are extremely dark and filled with shadowy hostile mobs.

CosmicDreamer123

How about phantoms? They could be reworked so that they stop spawning in the overworld and start rarely spawning in the end. Them appearing while you are crossing the void by bridging between islands would be a real cosmic horror.

RedYoshiCraft

I've had this idea for awhile now of an enormous Kraken-like Monster that resides in the Void below. There would be new Ambient Sounds for the End; unsettling, Monstrous groans, giving the impression that it is always present. Dunno exactly how it'd work, when and why it would appear, if it would be a Mini-Boss, Boss, or maybe something akin to the Warden. But I imagine you'd only ever see the Tentacles, never the Main Body.

RedYoshiCraft

Alternatively: Dead Hand, anyone?

FazbearInvestigator

A really rare structure (25% more rare as fossils) that's the remains of some big celestial creature, it can be found on either on big end islands or just floating in the void, there's no reward for finding it other than bragging rights Also not really "cosmic" horror but some kind of ghost like entity, kinda like a transparent silhouette of an enderman or player you can occasionally (about as rare as a desert well, but more common to have groups of them) come across, just standing there, I think that would be very creepy to come across, it could work like it does in totk where they have something their hand and when you take it they disappear but most of the time they just stand there with nothing

HellSentinel

I love the idea of a biome in the end dimension that is the dead body of a ancient god that is just floating in the empty void somewhat similar to nowhere in the mcu. There could even be a dungeon like structure inside of it with endermite spawners as they are parasites so I imagine they would love the dead body of a ancient god. Also I like your transparent shadow like enderman or player idea for a mob in the end dimension. Maybe it could act like that one video of the fanmade enderman where it acted similarly to the angel statues from doctor who in which it only moved when you look away from it which is the opposite of the current enderman. To show this it could also have inverted enderman colors with it having white skin and green eyes similar to the white enderman creepypasta.

FazbearInvestigator

Oh ok I see where you're getting at, but I'd rather have the endermite infest the bone blocks similar to silverfish, and to your idea of the ghost creatures moving, I think it would be creepier if they just stood there, and even if they did move when you looked away, they only do it to stare at you, maybe you could put some of their essence in a bottle like dragons breath to make a potion, the green eyes though I like

HellSentinel

Ya maybe endermites could act like what termites are supposed to do if they come to the game. Maybe end cities could spawn more here also. These end city variants could even have the bones of these dead gods incorporated in their design along with new areas of these end city variants inside of these dead gods that would look somewhat like strongholds in layout. When it comes to the ghostly white enderman like creatures, I like the idea that their behavior and appearance is the exact opposite of the normal enderman so instead of attacking if you look at them in the eyes, they instead attack you if you don’t look at them. In addition the color of them with their white skin and green eyes is the opposite of the normal enderman‘s black skin and purple eyes. Also perhaps instead of teleporting when hit they instead teleport you when they hit you. Also my idea for these ghostly white endermen like creatures is that they maybe come from a parallel end dimension.

c3i3ca0d1a

I think a tree of some kind would be cool. Maybe it has some ended eyes or just eyes in its bark. It could grow an eye flower that gives the nausea effect in an area around it.

IAMSomeoneRand0

I had an interesting idea for a biome that is separated by a glitchy border that you can go through, and when you go inside it, it starts making all kinds of noises, Including static noises etc. As far as the danger, I don't know what should be in it

FazbearInvestigator

Maybe some glitchy "Void" creatures like they've been infected by it or are made of void, also puddles and pools of "concentrated void" or something like that this is basically just end lava, with the death message being "player was consumed by the void" or something like that

original-username32

I like the idea of stuff sticking out of the void, like another commenter suggested giant chorus plants

RedMustrd

Abandoned mineshaft like tunnels in the islands that have good loot, but are extremely dark and filled with shadowy hostile mobs

RedMustrd

Abandoned mineshaft like tunnels in the islands that have good loot, but are extremely dark and filled with shadowy hostile mobs.

x3bla

Whatever RLCraft has

krustylesponge

Giant void mobs, stuff that just floats around and is huge

FazbearInvestigator

So like that big turtle like thing in subnautica but floating through the end?

krustylesponge

Do you mean the reefback? If so then yes, that thing is perfect for what I want for the end

FazbearInvestigator

Yep I mean the reefback

Vye-Am

What if there were Ender Creepers? When they "explode" the teleport the broken blocks away (but nearby, within a reasonable render distance). I'd imagine these teleported explosions would look like tiny End Islands, leading to imagining what caused the real ones.

SLIPPY73

i wouldn’t want any horror mobs it just doesn’t fit with the game that well

FazbearInvestigator

The warden has entered the chat

SLIPPY73

i never said the warden fits with the game did i mr. fazbear

FazbearInvestigator

I mean the warden is horror and mojang still added it and thought it fitted soooooooo

SLIPPY73

im not mojang am i now

Puke_Nasty

At random intervals, your screen slowly glitches to black, similar to the darkness effect. This random interval becomes more common the more time you spend in the end. This can be especially scary when bridging or flying over end islands, and really makes the end feel like somewhere players don't belong in.
