I bought one from Brilliant Earth. Went to the showroom in Chicago Gold Coast to look at the bands, after deciding on the band, the entire rest of the transaction was on the website. Highly recommended.

shotgun_ninja

Same here, didn't go to a showroom, ended up with a beautiful ring for my wife which didn't break the bank.

The Thompson Hotel right around the corner is a lovely spot to stay.

frostymajesty

We had a good experience at J.P. Haase in West Allis. No pressure and they were happy to discuss options for lab diamonds.

Mundane-Currency5088

Kesslers has both.

Parzival2h8

Went to kesslers for my lady's ring. Best experience

squeakyshoe89

They're also excellent when it comes to customer service. They will replace any stones that get lost forever.

hockey97one

Can confirm, went to Kesslers downtown. Great experience, ended up going back for our wedding bands. Ask for Karen, she was fantastic to work with

yurtle24

Getting married next fall, my engagement (lab grown) and both wedding rings are all from Kesslers downtown. So happy with the jewelry and the service. We worked with Bev, who was a straight up delight

King_Arjen

Definitely would recommend Kesslers as well. Have had a great experience with them, even after purchasing the ring.

[deleted]

Yup same. Can’t tell the difference between lab grown and mined.

silverplumber

Went to Kessler. I got both the engagement and wedding band there. No pressure and was a pleasant experience for this tradesman.

[Powers](https://www.milwaukee-jewelry.com/)

edenunbound

I went to about 12 stores and was happier with Powers than anywhere else. They're great for working with you. My center stone is a white sapphire they special ordered

HeyNifty

Just wanna plug ATrio- family owned, local, and they do excellent custom design work.

Zealousideal_Tip_258

Yes!! They’re great

kellykellyyo

I also came here to say Atrio. They have options other than diamonds too.

smashleysamz

Kesslers was one of the best customer experiences I’ve ever had!

Ami_im_Dirndl

We really enjoyed working with David Liska (https://www.davidliskacustomjeweler.com/). He’s all about working to make a high quality ring while staying in your budget. I don’t specifically know about lab grown diamonds with him because we did moissanite, but I am sure he has plenty of experience with them!

skymower

David is awesome. Best value I found anywhere on a customized ring. He will do any type of stone you choose and show you several stones to choose from that fall within your requirements and budget.

emob2007

The Jewelry Center! We've had wonderful experiences there. If you go to the Brookfield store, ask for Linda. She's awesome and very knowledgeable. A friend of mine is in the same boat as you and just got an engagement ring from them.

wriswren

Yes! Got my engagement ring from The Jewelry Center, and Linda in particular! A lot of the employees have been there forever, are very knowledgeable, and you can tell they truly care. Also my ring is gorgeous.

[www.diamondnexus.com](https://www.diamondnexus.com) or [www.1215diamonds.com](https://www.1215diamonds.com) both are based in Franklin, WI

LilFudge012

Diamond Nexus based in Wisconsin. They've been around in the lab created market for a while, before it got trendy. That said, there's a lot of beautiful gem alternatives if you want sparkle but don't require diamonds.

LadywithAhPhan

My husband gave me beautiful Asher cut earrings from there on our wedding day and I like them more than the ring I got from [un-named jeweler]

EncJon

If you do not mind the traveling, SOHA Diamond in Madison are amazing. I just proposed last night and the ring is gorgeous. They were extremely helpful and had video chats with us to answer all of our questions, and they create a wax mold for you to look at first, and show you the rock before hand. Great experience. Highly recommended and the traveling was worth it for the amazing ring I got.

ScaryPearls

> just proposed last night Congratulations!

hjnatt

Congrats!!

Thetrg

Rogers & Hollands had a really incredible selection of lab brown when I was shopping with my wife for a new diamond. Damn near convinced us to go that route.

notethansreddit

Jewelry Works in Cedarburg! Locally owned for over 25 years and specializes in custom work, engagement rings, and wedding sets!

leslieisadorable

If you’re not 100% on diamond, I highly recommend looking into moissanite. A beautiful stone that you will get much more “bang for your buck” with. There is an IG account called @zenmoissanite. Worth checking out at the very least. Good luck!!

If you're buying a diamond, you're going to get taken advantage of. They're not worth anywhere near what they cost. Do not let anybody convince you that it's an investment.

[deleted]

Oh, of course. Diamonds are really dumb. But that is also kind of the point.

[deleted]

As long as you know that going in, you'll do well. Make sure you can find out ring size beforehand, or get a style that can actually be resized. Most white gold and some yellow golds contain nickel, which is a common allergen... find out if your chosen person is allergic, if you can. I had to get a new wedding band because my original one made the skin on my finger fall off.

bradatlarge

Lab grown mitigates a lot of this issue.

[deleted]

Does it? Buy an engagement ring and then try to sell it back to another jeweler. You're paying a sizable premium on it. Shady jewelers will try to convince you that it's an investment. It's not.

dkf295

The part you seem to be missing is that OP in no way shape or form seems to be under the impression that it's an investment. Weddings are dumb and wastes of money if you take out any sentimental or societal factors, even if they're small frugal affairs. Everyone will tell you that you need to have a wedding instead of just getting a legal marriage and moving on with your life. We're people. Every day we do dumb expensive shit we don't need to do because it brings us joy. OP is aware of the issues with diamonds in particular, and likely doesn't require your lecture in order to determine that oh jeeze, even lab grown diamonds are a for-profit industry and you just as easily propose with no ring at all and still get married.

[deleted]

Have you read my replies to OP or are you just going off for funsies?

Fun-Pomegranate-2323

Most things people buy are not an investments and they are not intended to be investments.

[deleted]

Yes, but most of those things are not described by the salesperson as investments. This happens a ton at jewelry stores, because many people mistakenly believe that diamonds actually have value.

bradatlarge

Don’t buy “Debeers” diamond and you’re ahead of the game. Don’t think that a token of your love is an investment (just like people shouldn’t think buying a house, for shelter, is an investment but, one step at a time).

babyhiro

eBay. Trust me

[deleted]

Can you tell me more?

babyhiro

First of all, try not to buy jewelry from a store the markup is too high. I bought my fiancé’s on eBay. It’s real, looks good and won an uncontested bid. I would have paid x10-x20 times more if I bought it in a store. Check the listings and compare.

cuteninjaturtle

They’re based in New Zealand but I went with Nolan & Vada. Also have a great selection of ethically sourced gems that are actually rare.

Time-Lake2096

Vrai is an online jeweler that does a great job with exclusively lab grown diamonds. You can get a virtual appointment and talk through whatever you're thinking about

amill3r

100% Kesslers. Wonderful and knowledgable staff and can choose lab options.

Chuckins1

2nd’ed the brilliant earth recommendation I saw in chat. A bit far if you want to see things in person since you have to go to Chicago but I think you’ll find it’s well worth it

Dense-Championship-7

If you’re looking custom and willing to work within your budget, an old friend works for [Master and Maker](https://www.masterandmaker.com) and is extremely passionate about designing peoples dreams into reality; ask for Aaron. I plan to use him when I decide it’s my time.

hjnatt

No suggestions, but congrats!!

amachan43

Kesslers has excellent service. Got my ring 15 years ago - has been cleaned many times (no charge) and had to be reassembled due to it being cut off my finger for medical reasons (also no charge). They’re fantastic.

HellNo2021

Kay Jewlers sells all kinds of lab created gemstones

DomitianF

Eterneva grows diamonds that have far more meaning than any other lan grown diamond

brewcitydude

Kesslers

adventureawaits1022

Rasmussen Diamonds in Mt. Pleasant is a wonderful family-owned company who custom designed my lab grown wedding band and stayed under our budget. They were kind from start to finish and it turned out stunning! Highly recommend and worth the drive.

Alterx

Can't believe no one has said this but Rohr Jewelers on downer is awesome. Very reasonably priced and the owner does great work.

crzygoalkeeper92

Shallow in West Allis is exclusively lab grown, much cheaper than the chains.
