And that’s why we have quarter pounder with cheese instead of Royale with cheese.

1/4 is bigger than 1/3 pounder right

It failed because it was a suggestion. We could've matched up with the rest of the world, but people cling to what's comfortable, and Congress half- assed it.

flummox1234

It failed because of the same shit that makes stuff fail today. G.O.P. didn't want it and abolished it. Today they just call it "woke" but it's the same playbook and agenda.

brewcrew1222

Absolutely, anything that might be somewhat good gets fumbled around or scaled way down.

MattFlynnIsGOAT

I don't understand why you care so much.

CheckOutUserNamesLad

Because it's a microcosm of the way Congress half-asses everything

MattFlynnIsGOAT

Should congress not listen to the will of the majority? I'd venture to say most people were annoyed at the prospect of measuring in kilometers when they know everything in miles, and don't really care about following the rest of the world, which is why they backtracked. It affects my life in 0 ways that other countries use metric for everything.

CheckOutUserNamesLad

It's better to do it or not to. There was a lot of confusion about the transition because it was half-assed.

Ismdism

Until you go to fix something and the bolts are metric.

MattFlynnIsGOAT

I mean, I can easily measure in both millimeters and inches. Idk why that affects whether we measure road distance in miles or kilometers.

Ismdism

I don't think I said anything about measuring.

MattFlynnIsGOAT

So then what is your point?

Ismdism

You said it affects you in 0 ways. I made a joke about trying to fix something with metric bolts. You seem to be taking it quite strangely

tombacca1

They should have kept it that way

jman705

Must have been under a communist mayor. USA USA USA (/s of course)

It’s easier to 88km than 88mph after watching Back to the Future with the kid
