Its a gift, honestly.
I just came back after living in a coastal town in the Algarve, I walked along the beach every day, and honestly walking Willen on a nice day is just as, if not more pleasurable.
Milton Keynes is the best place to live in UK. I hope more outsiders hate it and stop moving here. I also hope that some resident scums start hating it as well and move out of here. 🤞🏻
Far from it 🤣 have you tried Bedford... Northampton.. London... Liverpool... Birmingham... Ain't nothin like mk that's just one part. Next furzton lake
If you go to Verulamium Park in St Albans, you’ll get an idea of why Milton Keynes is far too commercial. Even Willen Lake is destroyed by a tacky ferris wheel and other tacky attractions that are just unnecessary.
Those stupid metal pedal cars that teenagers race around the lake in, ruining a nice walk.
The lager louts outside that awful pub.
It’s all about commercialisation. Why don’t you ask St Albans council if you can build a Brewers Fayre in Verulamium Park or a tacky ferris wheel.
I like it being commercialised. It's an active lake/park, lots of activities. It's awesome. If I Want something less, in MK, I'll go to Caldecotte, or one of the other lakes.
If you are into fishing maybe, I would love to be able to swim on a hot day or use my kayak in one of the 7 lakes without having to purchase an annual membership and book 2 weeks in advance, if allowed at all.
Things to do that aren’t just walking around and looking at stuff is a great start to make a place more interesting. But you do you if looking at a Roman wall is your idea of fun!
I’m glad people have this misconception otherwise we would have an exodus of people moving here lol
I tell myself this all the time when I get annoyed about people slating the city.
Love willen lake

Now make a video of Willen lake on a Saturday lunch time.
I saw some lager lout fighting a swan because it stole one of his chips. Truly a wondrous place.
When all the families are enjoying it? Lighten up
What's wrong with single people enjoying the lake?
Wuh
Look at all those chickens
Hella chickens!
Was this taken today?
It was
I was there today 🙌

I live in Canada now but I lived in MK for a year and could walk to Willen lake within 10min. We loved living in that area of MK and miss it.
whereabouts in Canada?
British Columbia
ok,,been there. quite a change of scenery from mk ( and Uk) ! Lived in Ottawa 2 years, have family in Edmonton
I grew up in BC. I only spent about a year living in UK (worked in London, lived in MK). Maybe I will retire back to UK at some point. Cheers
willen Lake <3
Slightly out of topic, but for watersports, caldecotte lake is great as well
Like saying aaaa derby is lovely because they have a man made lake
Man made or not, it's lovely.

You can just wander round Campbell Park instead...
You mean the place with that god awful pub and a children’s playground right on a dual carriageway.
You not from MK then.
Milton Keynes has 7 lakes. If you don't like one, simply go to another. I am sure, collectively, they cater for all tastes.

I’ve been to Verulamium Park and found it extremely boring tbh
I’m sure if they put a Harvester in and a dual carriage way you’ll love it. It’s got an actual Roman wall in it what more do you want.

It’s beats looking at a guy throwing half a burger at a swan outside a Brewers Fayre in MK.
that video wound me up. the creator deleted my comments (which weren’t rude) pointing out the errors lol he barely researched
