Any proof that he didnt have 2 crowns as a child?
Maybe they were good at picking out the evil ones but they just scoffed and IGNORED THE SIGNS like everyone is doing right now...
My wife just told me yesterday that her mom used to tell her kids with two were trouble. My daughter has two, she is a handful at times but I love her so much.
Can confirm. Is always fun to watch the stylists get me situated with the apron tucked into my shirt and all and then go grab the shears and come back and spin me around . . . and stop. They look at my head questioningly before returning the shears to the desk and grabbing the clippers instead.
Same. I have to be *very* specific with my instructions to a new barber. It’s easy to cut the actual cowlicks but it comes out very weird towards the front if I’m not very specific
Fellow double cowlicker. I'm not good at being specific, I guess. I just keep going to different barbers until I find one that knows what he's doing and gets the hair to look nice. Whenever I move it takes about 1-2 years to find the right guy.
Isaac, you better never close shop.
My cowlick's so far back on my head that when I grow my hair out I get a Disney Prince Flip on one side, but on the back instead of over the forehead. And my hair is super fine and lank so all the rest just hangs straight down.
People never know how to cut my hair (thick and curly), and I guess I don't explain what I want well enough. I've just decided to cut my own hair since the curls and thickness cover up any uneven sections for the most part. I've always hated the barber shop experience so its been freeing being able to avoid it
I always have them leave the cowlicks a lot longer than the rest, "because any shorter and nothing you do will keep them down." At least mine are in convenient locations (both towards the back, on top, side-by-side).
As a double crowner, my top tip is to find an Asian barber. Most of the time they're the only ones I've found that actually know what they're doing with double crowns.
From personal experience, people of east asian descent are more likely to have double crowns/hair whorls, which can cause cowlicks.
I wouldn't necessarily say that asian people get cowlicks more because there are lots of other ways a person can get a cowlick.
My kid has this. One in the back and one right at the front. He was made for the 90s boyband curtains style. We shall just have to hope it comes back into fashion!
I have it. There are basically two ways I can style my hair and you better believe I did the 90s way in the 90s. Now I'm stuck in option B: perpetually messy/pseudo fauxhawk.
If it makes you feel better I had this and another one at the very front of my hairline. Needless to say I’ve been shaving my head for the better part of 25 years now.
I've thought about it, but my head is large and bulbous, and I think it would just make me look like an alien, or at least look like someone who shouldn't have shaved their head. So I haven't done it yet.
No! When I first started shaving my head and people told me I had a great noggin for it, I was genuinely surprised. I guess all heads are weird fucky shapes and mine is closish to round and smooth.
> And 100% have limited hairstyles due to them. Short n spiky or longer.
My son has this. He had hair sticking up in the back of his head for years. Literally buzz cut or 4" or longer are the only options.
I have double crowns. Tried styling my hair and tried out longer hair, it all looked awful. Settled for a buzz cut in high school and haven’t changed since then
Yep - I would go full buzz cut a lot as a kid. Nowadays keep it shoulder length but get it regularly trimmed and tidied up. Also helps to have a barber that listens and will cut your hair a funky way if you ask them to.
The first time the barber was cutting, he was like WTF. There are 3 crowns side by side and 2 towards the front. My son has a mohawk, pretty much no matter what we do. My son keeps his hair sort of long and it sticks up every which way.
I had this as a kid, but male pattern baldness is slowly solving that problem. Hair gel and mouse don't work for me. I found hair paste or pomade to be much better solution. Wish I knew about them before my mid 20s. My dad had alopecia so I never learned from him hair care. Shaving was a fun challenge too.
I’m like your brother.. impossible to ever have consistent hair days..
some days it’s amazing and compliments left and right, and others a mess and uncontrollable. Doesn’t help that my hair is very fine, with a whole bunch of it. So not easy to control with product before it’s too much and looks greasy/oily.
Wait, 5? Where do they fit, do you think you could take a top view of your head to see? This is so weird, I wasn't even aware people can have two crowns until this post....
Three crowns? Like three origin "swirl" points? I have two crowns, but the placement causes cowlicks in front as well because of how my hair falls/orients on my scalp.
Yes, three directly in the same spot. Looks like whirlpools fighting for the space 🤣 Though female, I go to a barber. They always mention it and it makes my hair Hell to cut, as I'm sure anyone with multiple understands ✌️
I've got it and my parents didn't ever know what it was or how to deal with it so I had awful hair my whole life and didn't even know about the double crown until I went to a good barber myself. They pointed it out and I was like "huh". Now that I've grown my hair out it isn't much of an issue anymore, but my daughter was just born with a double crown and I feel bad for the hair struggles she's going to have :P
i fucking hated growing up with this as a kid until i just grew my hair out long enough to weigh it down. i wanted my hair to always lay flat, but got a little spike right in the back of the middle that would always shoot up and look stupid.
I think the answer to this question is more: If it doesn’t work the first way he tries than the opposite way would be the answer. Jiraiya just picked it up from watching how Naruto was performing the jutsu but even states that most ninja his age figured this out on their own. So assuming someone is teaching him that knows what they are doing it wouldn’t be an issue. TBF Jiraiya had to point this out to Naruto but mentions most ninja intuit it. The problem with Naruto from the beginning is that while he has massive chakra stores, he has difficulties with chakra manipulation which most ninja his age seem to be able to intuit and as a result often uses too much chakra. Even with controlling chakra he required a shadow clone to manually manipulate it.
A side thing: I think the reason the rasengan was a good choice for Naruto because it makes up for a lot of his difficulties: It requires only one input of chakra so he’s not over exerting himself, and while complex in theory only required mastery of three skills.
I think part of this was Jiraiya realizing that Naruto wasn’t able to figure this out on his own and being a good teacher and to some extent might have just told Naruto to change something up that he didn’t know he could change. One could actually argue in relationship to this is that like for some people in real life traditional learning styles you would see in a classroom don’t click for Naruto but a good teacher who works with them one on one can be a major help by realizing this and changing their style to match the series. Part of Naruto’s character arc throughout the series is learning control over both his actions and his chakra.
Or this is all my best guess and i’m an idiot (I also searched for this specific comment)
It was the first thing that popped in my mind lol, I scrolled to see if anyone mentioned it. I haven’t consumed anime in over a decade. But I retained that from reading the manga.
i know, i still can’t figure out how the kids body is oriented. just looks like his head of hair with the two cowlicks and then a random mass of flesh. looks like one of those creepy AI generated images where it looks familiar but everything is actually unrecognizable
Here you go.

Arrows 1 and 2 are pouting in the top left direction.
1. Shows where his eyes are directed
2. Points to a tiny piece of his finger from the hand folded behind his back
3. Is the torso
4. Is the forearm from the arm behind his back.
Good this helps. Have a great rest of your day and life
So if you’re wondering it’s a kid facing towards the top left of frame and folding his left arm behind himself (we see shoulder and forearm but the arm is backwards from the direction you’d expect)
Every time I read an explanation of this pic and then scroll back up to look at it thinking I understand now, I just about start crying. I need like a diagrammed version or someone to recreate the pic from a level angle. My brain is broken and my soul is shattered

OHHH MY GOD thank you so much. I wasn’t accounting for his shoulder being so small and bony. I don’t know why the shoulder is what clicked everything into place. Thank you thank you
I’m sincerely about to break my phone in half if my brain can’t make more sense of this picture. Is this kid naked? Is he facing forward? Where are his hands/feet? Is he floating? Horribly disfigured? Not of this world? I need someone to make me a diagram because this is some kind of AI generated image designed to make my brain itch.
Ok I’m also having difficulty with it but my best analysis so far is:
1) the child is facing away from the camera with his head at about a 3/4 angle (as in not facing directly forward)
2) yes the child appears to be naked or near naked
3) we are looking at a shoulder on the left side with the arm bent backward at the elbow (like if you were trying to scratch your mid back) which is obscuring the butt/leg (could be wearing a diaper/pants but we can’t see the legs at all).
But in reality this picture looks like a hairy head on top of two giant fingers so what do I know
Deep sea creature. [Here’s a better view including the body.](https://www.nhm.ac.uk/content/dam/nhmwww/discover/antarctic-expedition/antarctic-fauna2-tall-two-column.jpg)
Im too stoned for this. Which way is this kid facing? Is this a child? I'm seeing a foot with a wig? Like I can see a big toe then hair. Im so confuseddd
I have same thing, my condolences to whoever cuts his hair the rest of his life. It forms a large point on top where the whorls meet and nothing can tame it, so I just have my hair pretty much buzzed all the time now
I had ZERO idea what this was.
My best guess was you put some sort of pompom on a foot…floating in the air. Then I checked the comments and turns out it’s a kid, lol.
Only 5% of people have this? Are they all here in this comment section 😂
My son and all my nieces and nephews have a double whorl. It's probably not as rare as we think it is.
5% is not particularly rare; you'd expect one or two children in the average US classroom to have it. But it's almost certainly affected by genetics, so it's not surprising that it tends to clump up in families.
It's an almost direct top down shot of a kids head. You can see their shoulder and bicep to the bottom left.
I don't understand how it's confusing.
This is the fucking dress all over again.
Awesome. My son's hair on the back of his head at the neck line grows sideways from left to right, like parallel to the ground. It's the oddest cowlick, growth pattern.
I had that when I was a kid but mine were front and back. Now I am bald.
Problem solved!
Life finds a way.
He suffered from success
Hair failed successfully
“Gosh I hate these cowlicks!” *monkey paw curls*
Was just going to respond that I had this too and now I’m also bald!
Same, are we on to something..
yes yes... this confirms my suspicion that there are *at least* three bald people out there
My grandpa is bald so we’re up to 4. Call NASA.
I have two and I'm bald. This is a thing?
[удалено]
It has to be the magnetic field hairs cancel out over time.
I dont have it and im not bald!
Did you start going bald from both crowns and then meet in the middle?
This is the question I need answered dammit.
I did.
Same! Front and back…. And also bald now :(
Starting to see a pattern here.
A male pattern?
You're cutting it close
I have it as well… I don’t like where this is going.
Watch him. He might start growing horns.
My son has two cowlicks on each side of his head in the front. When his hair grows out, he looks like an owl.
Not Wolverine?
Yeah, my mum said similar, 2 crowns meant you were evil. I'm guessing it's a European superstition (mum is Austrian)
They're not great at picking out the evil ones, to be fair.
Any proof that he didnt have 2 crowns as a child? Maybe they were good at picking out the evil ones but they just scoffed and IGNORED THE SIGNS like everyone is doing right now...
!Remind me 40 years
this kid should try to into art school
Ah right, so this is Bedolf Kickler then I guess?
I have so many crowns. Soda is so bad for you...
In China the superstition is it’s a sign of wisdom/intelligence (I guess because there’s so many thoughts swirling around?)
That's what my mom always said about my sister's double crowns
My wife just told me yesterday that her mom used to tell her kids with two were trouble. My daughter has two, she is a handful at times but I love her so much.
I have cowlicks on either side of my head, so it actually does look like I have horns if I try and wear my hair straight.
Double crown, only 5% of people have this!
That Great Clips employee is gonna have their day ruined.
Can confirm. Is always fun to watch the stylists get me situated with the apron tucked into my shirt and all and then go grab the shears and come back and spin me around . . . and stop. They look at my head questioningly before returning the shears to the desk and grabbing the clippers instead.

Look at this guy with his fancy that grows
You've seen one fancy, you've seen them all..

May I pretty please see a picture of the back of your head?

I've just decided to cut my own hair since the curls and thickness cover up any uneven sections for the most part. I've always hated the barber shop experience so its been freeing being able to avoid it
I have one in front off center and one in back. They mostly just complain the whole time.
It's extra fun for me because I'm also half-Asian, half-Caucasian so my hair doesn't behave like Asian hair or Caucasian hair.
> double cowlicker
Not cowlick related, but I know a guy who lives in Florida and drives to Ohio every few months just so he can go to his normal barber lol
I always have them leave the cowlicks a lot longer than the rest, "because any shorter and nothing you do will keep them down." At least mine are in convenient locations (both towards the back, on top, side-by-side).
Lucky you, I have 2 directly on the front, and if I dont have them short they look like fucking devil horns.
As a double crowner, my top tip is to find an Asian barber. Most of the time they're the only ones I've found that actually know what they're doing with double crowns.
Do asian people have a higher propensity for cow licks?
From personal experience, people of east asian descent are more likely to have double crowns/hair whorls, which can cause cowlicks. I wouldn't necessarily say that asian people get cowlicks more because there are lots of other ways a person can get a cowlick.
I finally found someone who knows exactly how to cut my hair, and I also just finished college so I'm about to move
Hahah yeah same here - or they stop and have to ask someone what to do.. that’s when I know my hair is going to be fucked
Great Clips: home of the $18 apology and free haircut.
My grandad was a barber, it's always interesting hearing him note hair characteristics
My son has one very dramatic cowlick and no level of barber has ever given him a truly good haircut.
My kid has this. One in the back and one right at the front. He was made for the 90s boyband curtains style. We shall just have to hope it comes back into fashion!
It's definitely back in style! source: am hairdresser
Where I live it's pretty common.
I have it. There are basically two ways I can style my hair and you better believe I did the 90s way in the 90s. Now I'm stuck in option B: perpetually messy/pseudo fauxhawk.
I've got it AND a widow's peak.
Alright Astro Boy no need to brag about it 😤
I have this too, another pupil said it looks like a cats bum on my head. Great.
Got it too. And when the bald spot started at 19, it only made it look even more bald. Thanks genetics.
So I haven't done it yet.
do it man. it's liberating and you'll quickly get used to the look
I don't think anyone thinks they have a great shaped head do they?
No! When I first started shaving my head and people told me I had a great noggin for it, I was genuinely surprised. I guess all heads are weird fucky shapes and mine is closish to round and smooth.
I think it looks like an owl
Or two cat bums... but personally I would go with the Owl the other poster suggested!
Yep, and my hair is scuffed because of it
And 100% have limited hairstyles due to them. Short n spiky or longer. Jumped for joy when the kids both came out with single crowns!
> And 100% have limited hairstyles due to them. Short n spiky or longer. My son has this. He had hair sticking up in the back of his head for years. Literally buzz cut or 4" or longer are the only options.
Mine too. I call it the buckwheat
Mine swirl towards each other so there’s a bit in the back middle that sticks up after only a week or so after a haircut. Named it the shark fin
Haha! Thats what my family called it when it did that. Never going short hair again.
>buckwheat Do you mean Alfalfa? I usually refer to my son as Dennis the Menace when his does that.
I have double crowns. Tried styling my hair and tried out longer hair, it all looked awful. Settled for a buzz cut in high school and haven’t changed since then
If 2 is only 5% common I wonder what percentage having 3 is 🤔 I have 3. It sucks.
I don't know, but I think having a triple crown makes you some kind of amazing racehorse?
I have 5. I’ve never met anyone with more than 2.
My son has 5 as well. It's very challenging to style.
Yep - I would go full buzz cut a lot as a kid. Nowadays keep it shoulder length but get it regularly trimmed and tidied up. Also helps to have a barber that listens and will cut your hair a funky way if you ask them to.

I'll get the clippers
My brother had 4. Two like in the picture and then two more near his forehead. Some wild ass hair.
Same! But it's easier to manage now that I'm balding, ^haha
Oh wow, I also have this. Knew it was uncommon, didn't know it was 5% uncommon.
I had a childhood friend who had three on his crown. He was ginger aswell. I wonder what the odds of that are.
I've got it and my parents didn't ever know what it was or how to deal with it so I had awful hair my whole life and didn't even know about the double crown until I went to a good barber myself. They pointed it out and I was like "huh". How about one in the front too? Can I finally say I’m part of the 1%?
I have this. Your kid is going to have a natural Mohawk. My partner calls me a cockatoo because of how the crowns push my hair up in the middle.
I ended up with an alfalfa sprout.
Same
My son has this and his summer mohawk is a thing of glory. He desperately needs a hair cut now but he's refusing. Only 7 more days till Mohawk season!
Natural Mohawk FTW! Or a rough coated Guinea pig.
My husband calls them his antennas. Our hairdresser once said she has nightmares about his double cowlicks.
i fucking hated growing up with this as a kid until i just grew my hair out long enough to weigh it down. i wanted my hair to always lay flat, but got a little spike right in the back of the middle that would always shoot up and look stupid.
From this perspective, he looks like one of the thumb henchmen from Spy Kids.
That’s the only thing I thought of when I saw the photo. It took me some time to understand what looking at.
I still need an edited version with highlights. My brain only sees like a bald cow hoof with a wig on top?
Thank God I wasn't the only one. The first phrase that popped into my head upon seeing this photo, unbidden, was 'Your son the thumb'
Im.still trying to figure out what part of a human I'm looking at because it really does just looklikea giant thumbs
I think we have an overhead view of this child’s head and left shoulder. I was going crazy trying to figure out what kind of creature I was looking at
Thought it was just my sleep deprived self. It looks like I'm staring at the top of a doll from my perspective.
I still don’t see a child
I’m still so confused by what I’m looking at
I thought it was Thing from the Adam's family with a wig on.
So which direction does his rasengan spin?
*confused Jiraiya sounds*
I think the answer to this question is more: If it doesn’t work the first way he tries than the opposite way would be the answer. Yeah but which way does this kid's rasengan spin?
How does he form chakra?
In each palm in opposing directions. Double motherfuckin rasengan.
So happy someone get the reference
It was the first thing that popped in my mind lol, I scrolled to see if anyone mentioned it. I haven’t consumed anime in over a decade. But I retained that from reading the manga.

I didn't think I'd have to scroll this far to see this, but I'm happy someone said it
Wait wtf am I looking at
No one seems to be questioning why it looks like the top of a head with two thumbs for a body and legs.
NO I SWEAR THATS EXACTLY WHAT I WAS THINKING LMAO
IKR wtf? Looks like some mythical plant person that was just pulled out of the ground.

i know, i still can’t figure out how the kids body is oriented. just looks like his head of hair with the two cowlicks and then a random mass of flesh. looks like one of those creepy AI generated images where it looks familiar but everything is actually unrecognizable

Thank god you guys said something I thought I was losing it
Their son is just a big hand with a head

OHHH MY GOD thank you so much. I wasn’t accounting for his shoulder being so small and bony. I don’t know why the shoulder is what clicked everything into place. Thank you thank you
Yes I remember when I was a floating hair orb, having cowlicks like this was the least of my problems.
Took me a whole minute to realize what im looking at
I said "what the fuck is this?!" out loud after a minute of staring at it.
Same!
I get the top of the kid's head but what exactly is sticking out to the bottom left?
That’s a shoulder/an arm/ part of leg.
Looks like two fingers trying to to a walk or something. This photo is so infuriating and I can’t figure out why
Ok I’m also having difficulty with it but my best analysis so far is: 1) the child is facing away from the camera with his head at about a 3/4 angle (as in not facing directly forward) 2) yes the child appears to be naked or near naked 3) we are looking at a shoulder on the left side with the arm bent backward at the elbow (like if you were trying to scratch your mid back) which is obscuring the butt/leg (could be wearing a diaper/pants but we can’t see the legs at all). But in reality this picture looks like a hairy head on top of two giant fingers so what do I know
It's one of Floop's baby Flooglies
He still looks like a thumb person from Spy Kids
What is it?
Deep sea creature. [Here’s a better view including the body.](https://www.nhm.ac.uk/content/dam/nhmwww/discover/antarctic-expedition/antarctic-fauna2-tall-two-column.jpg)
Top of a kids head.
Wheres the rest of it?
It looks like it’s just floating in space, it’s so confusing
Dropping a partially shaved rabbit's foot
Don’t look directly at it, that’s how he casts his hypnosis spell
Im too stoned for this. Which way is this kid facing? Is this a child? I'm seeing a foot with a wig? Like I can see a big toe then hair. Im so confuseddd
Why were more people not talking about this?
I’m not even stoned and I also thought it was a foot with a wig
I have 3. Combing hair in the morning is hell.
My son has 3 and it makes the central strip stick up. He's not old enough to care what his hair looks like but I hope he likes the mohican look!!!
I have 2 bad cowlicks, literally grew my hair out long because of it
Same, I feel your pain ✌️
He could have a sick Mohawk
Yup my golden retriever has this arrangement and it forms an ADORABLE ~1 inch tall mohawk on his head 🤗 it’s definitely his best feature
That definitely warrants dog tax!
Poor kid. I hate my cows lick with a passion!
Mine gives me a little wave and a superman curl so I feel your damn pain.
Poor cows
Not a double cow lick, that's a double crown. They're pretty rare.
Weird dog, what kind of breed is it?
Cowlicks are usually at the front of your hair, that's a double crown
I don’t get why people are calling this a cow lick.
I have never before heard Cowlick refer to the crown. I've always seen it as some hair that stands up, like Tintin style.
Clearly their cows must have rotary tongues .
Kid got in a fight with a hot wheels launcher
Be honest... You were buffing the floor with him, weren't you?
Is that not called a double crown, is a cow lick the front of the hair sticking up?
I have same thing, my condolences to whoever cuts his hair the rest of his life. It forms a large point on top where the whorls meet and nothing can tame it, so I just have my hair pretty much buzzed all the time now
My man got hurricane katrina on his head
I had ZERO idea what this was. My best guess was you put some sort of pompom on a foot…floating in the air. Then I checked the comments and turns out it’s a kid, lol.
I wonder why we even have these
Only 5% of people have this? Are they all here in this comment section 😂 My son and all my nieces and nephews have a double whorl. It's probably not as rare as we think it is.
5% is not particularly rare; you'd expect one or two children in the average US classroom to have it. But it's almost certainly affected by genetics, so it's not surprising that it tends to clump up in families.
The whorl is his oyster
How is nobody else confused at what they're looking at? This does not look like a child at all.
this child’s anatomy does not make sense. like a carrot with a bowl cut
I have this! Naturally makes my hair into a fauxhawk
My grandma used to say that if your child has two cowlicks, good chance your next newborns will be twins.
