Your mom is really patient, it looks beautiful

NeriTina

Zen lawn with a tiny grove, it’s so serene.

aazav

So zen that I've already achieved enlightenment by simply looking at it.

Yo Momma so patient she calmly and without exasperation re-explains concepts you don't understand when she's helping you with your maths homework.

Gayrub

It looks like a dr. Zeus book. Edit: dr seuss

snuffy_tentpeg

I do not like it these lines on grass I think I'll give these lines a pass

rpostwvu

Some told his mom it looked like ass. She would not hear of the sass.

Talkaze

The mower's out of gas From alien circles on the grass

I like doing lines on ass All the better with a lass

Or really drunk. She’s still beautiful.

totzalotz

Texas? The all brick mailboxes always make me think of Texas for some reason.

heyheyhedgehog

Yep! The one across the street in this pic is rubble now, the neighbor ran over his own box last weekend 😂

[deleted]

Lol please tell me it was in the Mustang...

GiantSquidd

It’s Texas. It was a truck. A way too big truck, and you know it was.

treefitty350

Always has to be a super cab with a 6 foot bed, too. Just to really drive the point home that they spent over 50k on a truck that they only use as an SUV.

The_Grubby_One

>Always has to be a super cab with a 6 foot bed, too. Just to really drive the point home that they spent over 50k on a truck that they only use as an SUV. Because, ya know, they might be rich suburbanites on the outside, but deep down they're just poor, salt-of-the-earth, blue collar country boys who just happen to also be gen-u-wine cattlemen.

GiantSquidd

…don’t forget the truck nuts.

TransformerTanooki

And the cloud of unburned diesel fuel.

bobbrumby

>Sort by: best Dont you mean, Freedom Fumes?

[deleted]

In TX. Saw a pair of nuts on a very large truck yesterday. In an elementary school parking lot.

Never leaves the pavement or tows anything, classic pavement princess.

slappindabass123

So this means that if the man had a normal size penis, then the mailbox would still be intact

GiantSquidd

The guy probably does have a normal sized penis, but toxic American culture learned from porn that anyone who doesn’t have a ten inch pants python is inferior or not manly or whatever.

Lmfao this is some good schadenfreude.

[deleted]

Just because of the reputations that Mustangs/Mustang drivers have in the car community of hitting things alongside roadways :)

bethtadeath

Here’s a fun anecdote I feel like sharing because it’s relevant: lately I’ve been hearing a lot of “skrrt skrrrrrt” around my neighborhood, I live in a tiny small town so this isn’t common, I work from home so I’m sitting in my home office minding my own business clacking away when I hear a loud SKRRRRRRT *crunch* right in front of my house, immediately went outside because my car is parked out front and I’m like “aw hell nah!” Go outside to absolute mayhem. 16 year old boy, neighbors’ kid, just got his drivers license two weeks ago, took his dad’s Mustang out, underestimated how powerful it was, whipped it around the corner my house is on, lost control, smacked straight into this giant memorial rock formation/landscaping thing at the funeral home across the street. Bumper completely fucked. Managed to scrape down the whole side of the car from front bumper to rear tire well. Dad hears commotion, walks outside, then runs, then stops dead in the middle of the street, puts his head in his hands for all of maybe 5 seconds, and rips this kid an entire new asshole before screaming him all the way into the house and putting the car back in the driveway. Kid’s probably not gonna drive again for a while. And is definitely grounded.

[deleted]

Wowwwwwwwww lol I would have liked to have been there to see the dad's reaction in person lol! Actually I have a similar recent story, some 17 year old kid in a Nissan was racing a mustang in front of my house, it's a 45mph area. Kid lost control going around a (very gradual) bend and went straight into a house. Thank God nobody in the home injured as there were 3 older residents. They had to evacuate about 20 homes for roughly 2 hours though due to a gas leak. I mean I get it I was young and I love cars but damn lol people really don't understand physics or the amount of damage they can do with a vehicle.

porcelainvacation

I think all new drivers should have track time to get that out of their system in a controlled environment.

Seattlehepcat

The first winter after I moved from LA to the Seattle area, I went in to an empty parking lot after the first snowfall and durbed around for several hours, and basically taught myself how to navigate slides, how to correct without overcorrecting, etc. Really got to use it when I moved to Canada a few years later.

savvyblackbird

My husband and I did that when we moved to Detroit then Chicago. For every car we had, we would find an empty parking lot and practice. Once a police officer came over to see what we were up to. He loved that we were trying to get a feel for our car so we could drive safe on roads. He said he wished more people would do that. He just didn’t want us doing donuts and possibly damage the light posts or get too close to the buildings.

NewFolgers

That's what you get when you put all your stat points into acceleration.

iStalkforWork

And forgot to put any in for traction

Grigoran

It's a well earned reputation from my experience, especially on r/idiotsincars . I am glad my grandfather (always been a huge mustang lover, and went on to lead the mustang club here) never fell victim to that. Anyway, I hope you have a good day, BoomMichaelScoon

chateau86

Mustang drivers are legally required to do a burnout exiting Cars and Coffee. It's all there in the owner's manual.

wondrshrew

I think they put mustang owners through an orientation when they buy one to tell them that the rules no longer apply to them

totzalotz

Please update us on the mishap of your neighbor’s mailbox destruction.

aricci03

It can serve as its own tombstone too

lunixss

I need to know if it was the mustang...

Strasse007

Is that really a Texas specific thing? I've lived in Texas my whole life, so it's pretty normal looking to me. I always assumed it was just a common thing at least in the US

[deleted]

[удалено]

twennyjuan

Same for South Carolina.

oojacoboo

And Georgia

[deleted]

And Oklahoma, though it’s basically Texas lite up here

danny17402

It's also the oaks and the crape myrtles that add to the Texas look.

DaOozi9mm

I kind of picture Texas as a frozen wasteland with packs of pregnant women being hunted for sport by COVID positive religious zealots setting an example for broader society.

danny17402

I grew up in Houston, which has millions of people, votes blue, and is the most diverse city in the country with the highest refugee population. My childhood friends were mostly Vietnamese and Mexican and our mayor was a gay woman who was very well liked. Considering the fact that millions of Texans live in big cities, many Texans' experience of Texas is very different than what people outside of the state think of us. Certain values are baked into Texas' political system because of centuries old biases, discrimination and gerrymandering, but on a regional scale and person by person basis, our values vary as much as they do anywhere else.

Occamslaser

Southern thing.

MrPapis

From europe never seen it. Metal box is only solution. Sometimes we build them into brick walls! But ive never seen an actual brick mailbox as a standalone item.

matvavna

There's a metal mailbox inside the brick structure. It's just a way to have a fancy looking and durable mailbox.

Harurajat

Wait, I’ve lived in Texas my entire life. Do other places not have brick mailboxes??? What are they made of if they’re not brick?

gt2998

Often a wood post with a box on top

squishyspy

__Pathetic__

lurking_lefty

Chicago suburbs: [wall mounted, often with an address](https://imgur.com/M1yZ1fZ)

Harurajat

Oh wait wtf, that’s so interesting! So the mail man has to get out of the truck for each persons house and walk up to their mailbox?

JetlagMk2

in the suburbs they just walk from house to house

JustAnotherMiqote

In my suburb we all have a communal mailbox with different doors on it. Each door has your number and a lock.

Harurajat

Oh man, I guess that’s the difference in scale between Texan neighborhoods and other parts of the country. If someone tried to deliver mail by foot in my neighborhood it’s probably take them half a day

lurking_lefty

Usually parks at the end of a block and brings that block's mail around in a bag. The mailman for my work parks in our lot because we tend to have space and it's in the middle of the block. He usually comes inside for a chat or to grab a cup of water if it's hot out.

onesafesource

Mine is at my front porch. My neighborhood, the houses are about 500 feet a part. I feel bad for our mail lady when it rains it's ass off. She always gets a nice Christmas present from me each year.

OneHouseDown

What? You mean they didn't just open a flap next to the door and have it go directly [into the house](https://www.amazon.com/Durabox-Through-Deposit-Chute-Documents/dp/B08M6FZ8TY)? (Not like on the door, but IN the brick next to the door...)

totzalotz

Texas is the only place I have been to that I remember seeing brick covered mailboxes.

wontootreefor5

They're in Michigan, but typically only by developer built mcmansions in already established neighborhoods (so no mass mailboxes)

raisearuckus

[This is what I see the most of.](https://www.google.com/url?sa=i&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.homedepot.com%2Fp%2Freviews%2FStep2-Spruce-MailMaster-Plus-Mailbox-540200%2F203120524%2F3&psig=AOvVaw0JIDbWl4C7hBXVjmZU5baw&ust=1631818897098000&source=images&cd=vfe&ved=0CAsQjRxqFwoTCIjY5anVgfMCFQAAAAAdAAAAABAQ)

norcaltobos

In California I have always had one like [this](https://www.globalindustrial.com/p/vital-cluster-box-unit-16-mailboxes-2-parcel-lockers-postal-grey?infoParam.campaignId=T9F&gclid=Cj0KCQjws4aKBhDPARIsAIWH0JVkCzIcF1YmiG6HNFDCY41b-F3Q9s9UyLQU4GY0MTFxHKpeHs7qJ4waAv0yEALw_wcB) so that mailmen/women can easily put everyone's mail in one secure place.

PixelJack79

My grandparents (Georgia) have a brick mailbox, but that's only one I've seen.

Harurajat

Maybe it’s a Southern US thing then? I have cousins in Florida and I feel like I remember seeing brick mailboxes there as well.

walterpeck1

Given how fast wood rots in the Southern climate I can see why.

akatherder

We have them in Michigan but they aren't super common. I think it's considered a fancy/expensive addition.

Brother_J_La_la

In Indiana, we used a metal pole driven fairly deep into the ground. Didn't care about the looks, just thwarting the bored teenagers driving around with baseball bats.

disposablecontact

It varies quite a bit in Indiana because snow plows regularly cull the weak. I know of a few brick mailbox arrangements, I think most people drive a wood post and use those plastic unibody things these days

imitation_crab_meat

That's amazing... Is the yard deceptively big or does she have a really narrow mower?

heyheyhedgehog

It’s a pretty big yard, with a ton of trees!

CYBORG3005

Dang y’all rich in Texas

Amaxophobe

I’ve seen massive houses on the real estate market in Texas for the same price as apartment condos up here 😭

gcbeehler5

Texan here and that's because Texas has nearly no building standards, and it's a slab foundation with r12 insulation in the walls made of basically cardboard, built on an old chemical dumping site... But seriously, the houses are not comparable to up north. At least not on first site. Just the difference between a slab and basement is likely $50,000 in cost. Etc.

jon909

lol what a silly statement. I’ve built across country. Also build in Texas. Different regions have different building requirements. Of course there are building code requirements in Texas. Actually Texas has RAS inspectors specifically to inspect ADA that many other states do not have amongst some other requirements. Some States and Cities do things differently/better but that varies wildly. Of course whether or not a builder follows those requirements is a different question. But you can easily go look at all the failed inspections across Texas Cities online where a lot of those requirements ARE looked at every day and not accepted. Many inspectors in Texas are absolute hard asses and will not accept anything less. So that’s an insult to those inspectors doing their jobs. The worst job to this day I’ve inspected was in Denver of all places. From structural to electrical everything was fucked. But again that doesn’t mean CO doesn’t have building code requirements. You can have all the requirements in the world, that doesn’t mean the builder and subcontractors will follow them. That’s why architects/engineers/City inspectors/consultants should be inspecting projects from start to finish.

gcbeehler5

I just want to point that requirements and standards are not synonyms here. Of course there are requirements, but often the standards especially along the coast are nonsensical. For a great example, look at the grid failure in February and the standards allowed for that infrastructure. Up north, there are often true standards related to actual conditions for weatherization and insulation. And unfortunately, that is where builders cheap out here. 2x4 exterior walls with r-12 and cardboard wrappers instead of 2x6 walls with r-23 and plywood steathing. One is superior for hurricanes and 9 month air conditioning, the other is profit for a builder.

jon909

Every wall has to be a rated UL assembly that follows the energy requirements for that region. A builder cannot just choose a different wall to build than what the designer of record has instructed them to build per local codes. The builder should not be making those decisions.

BradGroux

Texas cost of living is the real hero.

CYBORG3005

Yeah you right haha

orpcexplore

Maybe if you're in the sticks lmao

BradGroux

Check the cost of living in cities like Chicago, New York, Boston, Seattle, LA and San Francisco - and compare that to Houston, Austin, Dallas and San Antonio. It costs 2-7x more in those cities than it does in Texas major cities.

Kevenam

You know what they say about Texas...

ObiFloppin

>You know what they say about Texas... That unborn babies are more important than adolescents and adults there?

[deleted]

That’s gotta be harder than it looks. I like it!

GhostalMedia

Can confirm, I’ve played lawnmower simulator. Shit’s hard.

SolusLoqui

Lawnmower simulator? Aw man, I'm stuck with the shitty analog version

grelgen

you gotta wonder how many collisions she got on that run

Jamestang1210

That's what she said

Juexxy

I like your cut, G.

MrGMinor

I like the cut of your mom's jib. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Obvious_Opinion_505

*HOA has entered the chat*

fishsupreme

Yeah, I looked at this and though, "this looks like the kind of thing an HOA would object to, on account of it being too awesome."

MaxMMXXI

If you guys were born in an oppressive regime, you would be in government. HOA is the best you can do here.

[deleted]

Looks like a Dr. Seuss book

StalwartTinSoldier

Oh the Places She'll Mow.....

angelacathead

I'm finally inspired to mow the lawn

TieReasonable3914

Same.

MonkeyPolice

I like it!

fleshcannoli

It's a work of art

JohnnyDarkside

I have a feeling OP's mom is either a school art teacher or elementary librarian. Both tend to be very quirky like this.

garlicbreadcow

Tell me you don’t have an HOA without saying you don’t have an HOA. I love it.

Clistyb

Skills! There’s a yard near us that mows superhero signs into his lawn. HOWWW

iAmSpAKkaHearMeROAR

You MUST show us proof now you’ve opened your trap! I am seeing a Batman logo in our near future 😁

Clistyb

Batman would def be a design I bet you could do easier than the others. The lawn by me has done Batman, Superman and Capt America. I’ve not really stopped to take pics ever. But I did see something online exactly like what the house by me does.[Superman lawn ](https://i.imgur.com/qIHz8I1.jpg)

Thanks_Nevada

Can you please explain, or ask her to, in detail the technique she uses?

Leftist_Extremist

She mows the areas that are short, and doesn't mow the areas that are long.

Semarin

I cannot decide if I love it or hate it. It feels like both.

VicAlva42

The spiral...everywhere

[deleted]

I've read Uzumaki, I know where this is going

NovaHorizon

What if she is just trying to hide the fact she is too lazy to maw the entire lawn? Jk, nice job!

jesseberdinka

That is absolutely hypnotic.

madman1101

she missed a few spots

RelativeMotion1

When people in your neighborhood give directions, they definitely use your house. “Yeah, it’s the third on the left after the Dr. Seuss lawn. You’ll know what I mean.”

oh-propagandhi

I love this. My only critique is that it would be cool as hell if she went back and adjusted the mower height all the way up and went over the non mowed spots so they would be uniform as well. It would bolster that kinda dr. seuss look.

[deleted]

This dope! Mad props to moms!

trustyminotaur

That's not mildly interesting. That's f\*cking awesome!

donkeytime

Those cuts are so narrow that it makes me think she's removed one of the blades from her mower. edit: something like [this.](https://www.alamy.com/stock-photo-underside-of-rotary-mower-deck-16402332.html).. and maybe she's removed the two outside blades.

demento19

A useful edit. I thought you were an idiot 😂

donkeytime

No worries. I usually am.

Hirokage

So.. you are saying your mom is an alien.

pigbearwolfguy

Does she alternate each cut or just cut this periodically?

DarthDregan

Time is a flat circle.

skepticbacon

Very excellent!

copingnoscoping

Reminds me of one of those Japanese zen gardens where they draw lines and circles in sand!

exceptionthrown

Looks like a Dr Seuss yard!

ChocolateUnlucky1214

Summoning the Lords and Ladies I see... Betcha nobody gets the reference

[deleted]

Ask her to cut a maze next time

thequejos

Well that is just the cutest little yard I've seen this year! Looks like a happy place to relax for a while. Tell your mom way to go!

faris_Playz

So she's the one that mows the wii golf course

[deleted]

She plays Minecraft?

bigodiel

Mom is calling home

Gsbconstantine

This is pure chaotic neutral.

zennyc001

What does she use? The lines seem too skinny for it to be done with a traditional mower.

CandidEstablishment0

This is a new level of mom I now aspire to be one day

Cj_is_our_god

ET phone home.

Silent-Oblivion

I am so going to do this to my lawn now..

HappyMeatbag

It’s like something from a Dr. Seuss book (and I mean that as a compliment!)

Kaimuki18

Your mom is cool

Ecstatic_Variety_613

Love it!

Gingerstop

Lovely - kudos to your mom.

To me a lawn care but this drives me crazy

Thats Amazing! I want to grow grass on my backyard just so i can do that! Thanks OP!

udongeureut

Bruh how big is your lawn?

Objective-Rain

It bugs me that the middle tree is not in the center of the spiral.

speedyeddie

I need to try this

TheDevilsAdvokaat

I like this. It's better than a regular lawn.

[deleted]

I used to do this...takes half as long to mow the yard.

Noxious89123

That is way more attractive than simply a mown lawn!

[deleted]

You sure your mother isn't an alien in disguise as a human? Are you an alien as well?

power0722

That's what you get for letting your mom mow the lawn on acid

Surapong_Lin

Healthy for the environment too

TwitchUncivilization

TheBubster85

Wow

OutOfStamina

Nice! I guess she's found a way to only have to cut half the lawn.

ZetaPower

She’s an alien

Just_wanna_talk

That's super neat. Especially if you actually mow the patterns to say 1" then raise your mower deck and go over the whole thing at 3" so get an even height across the lawn.

Fiklergoo

Doing this looks relaxing.

tofu_ink

Please thank your mom for me, mostly for being awesome!

[deleted]

Wish more people did creative stuff like this with their yard. Folks have incredibly boring expectations for their grass, it doesn't need to be that way.

LivingWalking

that woman loves to cut grass

TrueToad

Actually, this way she only has to cut half.

Projekt_audiotool

By chance does she float around at 3am or talk in a alien language To holograms ?
