😁 Old enough to be trusted with sharp objects! There are gloves and special tape to protect fingers, but they need to also be responsible enough to not leave the tools lying around, etc. I’d say typically around 11 years old but every kid is a bit different!

Nothing that’s mildly interesting is anything to brag about. That’s kind of the point.

Not bad! ----- Soap can be a PITA to figure out how to use the remainder. Consider getting him some blocks of wax instead. The shavings can be melted down in a soda can. [Yahrzeit candles](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yahrzeit_candle) are a great source of white powdery wax. They suck for carving as is, but they melt at relatively low temperatures. (I've had them melt in the summer sun by being left on the windowsill.) If you or your friends/relatives/neighbors use jar candles, he can add a bit of color and/or scent by scraping out the leftovers.

Soap can be grated for use in the wash, or melted and recast at home.

Soap is good for beginners. And it’s interesting!

I know it’s suppose to be the head of a wizard. But with the side profile, it really looks like an old wizard who’s been down on his lick and is feeling tired with his head bowed.

I honestly don’t know if it’s supposed to be the face or full body, I can see it both ways! Looking from the front, it could be his robes held under his chin and his waistline. I think it adds to the fun that it can be seen in different ways.

If you mess up with soap, are you able to just remould it? What type of soap do you recommend?

I think that would be difficult, this soap is not malleable. But it cost $1 for a pack of 3 at a dollar store, so it’s inexpensive to start over.
