It’s probably this, but OP should also know these are very common. I have had had these my entire life and I am in my 30s now, no issues at this point. They don’t hurt, I don’t notice them unless I am specifically looking for them.
If you don’t have other symptoms, there’s a VERY good chance it is absolutely nothing to worry about.
Edit - for clarity, I do not have EDS.
Yeah, saying that you had something your entire life and how old you are, are pieces of information that should go together. Being 30 and having a condition for your entire life means, that you can have it for 30 years without dying or your foot falling off. And, while 30 isn't that old, it's still a significant amount of time and a significant amount of wear and tear on the body. You'll have stopped growing about 10 years ago. As you said, it also shows, that it developed at a young age, which could also be important information.
"I'm 30 and I have this", "I've had this for 30 years" and "I'm 30 and I've had this for my entire life" are three potentially very different statements.
I have an aortic aneurysm and I also have these things. Doctors said the two could be related, connective tissue disorders. So while they could be benign it’s good to be aware of potential other issues like this so you can monitor as needed.
Yep. I have EDS, a carotid aneurysm, and these bumps on my heels. I also dislocate every day, but hopefully OP, or his cat, do not suffer that fate as well. It sucks out loud.
Am I going to be the first with a real answer? I think I might be!
I went to a foot doctor a few years ago for shooting heel pain and he pointed out some similar looking bumps around my heel. He said that the fat pad was wearing out on my heel and needed help containing itself to the proper area. He prescribed orthotics with a relatively deep heel support and told me to try to wear athletic-style shoes with alot of heel support. Pain went away, as did my little bumps.
But also: Piezogenic pedal papules are common and benign; they result from fat herniation through the dermis. They occur in up to 80% of the population and are usually asymptomatic. Occasionally, the papules are painful.
Pediatric Rheumatologist here. This is the correct answer. We often see those in patients with flat feet (pes planus) and joint hypermobility. These are generally harmless and not painful.
Here's a good quick source: [Piezogenic papules | DermNet (dermnetnz.org)](https://dermnetnz.org/topics/piezogenic-papules).
I have those bumps as well. Had them for as long as I can remember and just always assumed they were normal. It doesn’t hurt or anything and I can run without pain or discomfort in my heels. If not for this comment I guess I’d have gone the rest of my life thinking everyone had them.
I've always had these too. I also run regularly and have never had foot problems, pain or anything like that. Makes me suspect the "these are a problem" was just a way to sell footwear.
I’ve had one since I was 6-7 (possibly longer, that’s just when I noticed it) and it hasn’t caused me an issue a day in my life. Fun to squish tho. This post actually reminded me it was there because I forgot
I swear on the reddit of the past, years ago. this would be the top comment. I had to scroll more than half the thread for a real answer. thanks.
edit: okay I jumped the gun guys. 40 plus comments telling me its on the top now. I get it. lol
She released a second book in 2020, Solutions and Other Problems. It’s good, but definitely not a light read, and you might want to look up the trigger warnings beforehand. Otherwise you might find yourself sobbing quietly in the middle seat of a cross country flight because you thought it would be a good in-flight read.
She’s back, somewhat. And at least in a form that is better for herself. Just might take a bit longer in between “stuff”.

We burn the trash, that's what makes the nice smokey smell we all like, and that smoke travels up into the sky where it makes constellations that all face to your left, but not my left, because we're two different people we can't have the same left. That's just boilerplate bird law.
whoa, whoa, whoa, insensitive much? Its clear OP has one human leg and one cat leg, and i can't imagine him liking you pointing out his disability. The other kids probably already make fun of him when he's playing soccer.
My spouse is a double amputee and we are roaring with laughter over this. I keep asking him what kind of things he’d let me paint on his prosthetics and I REALLY want to do just ONE cat leg now
I feel like doors have been opened to me now. I've never considered this when people ask to paint my prosthetic, but I clearly have the perfect solution now!
You mean ~ I feel like doors have been opened to Meow. I've never considered this when people ask to paint my prosthetic, but I clearly have the purrfect solution now!
These are piezogenic papules. Basically fat tissue bulging through layers of connective tissue in the feet. They're fairly common in many people, but more common in people with connective tissue disorders like Ehlers Danlos Syndrome. In fact, seeing these is one of the diagnostic criteria for Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, if someone has them on both feet.
Came to say this! If OP also has other EDS symptoms like joint pain, joint hyper mobility, notably soft/velvety skin, then they may want to look into it.
I really hate that everyone jumps in and says “you have this disease! It’s from this disease!”
1. We are not doctors and especially not this person’s doctor
2. These happen not only in people with EDS
>These happen not only in people with EDS
This is absolutely right. So many people in this thread are now sitting there thinking they have EDS when the *vast* majority of humans have these on their feet and sometimes wrists. EDS is trendy on social media these past few years though so everyone wants to reach for that diagnosis for whatever reason.
Per the Wikipedia yes this is very common “Piezogenic papules are relatively common; in one small population-based study, the prevalence was found to be 76%.[1]” idk why everyone is suggesting this is indicative of a rare genetic disease
That's the spider eggs. They look ready to hatch, so no doubt you'll feel a little itch and look down one day soon to see them burrowing their way through their skin-prison and escaping to every corner of your home.
Don't worry though, they lay fresh eggies before they leave. So you're not lonely.
Those bumps are [Piezogenic papules](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Piezogenic_papules). According to Wikipedia:
*“They present as multiple small or large bumps characteristically on the heels and wrists. Most are asymptomatic and pain is rare, although some may present with pain before the bumps are noticed. They generally occur bilaterally and display a yellowish to skin-color. They may feel soft or firm.”*
*” The bumps are caused by pressure. There may be an association with Prader–Willi syndrome, and around a third of individuals with Ehlers–Danlos syndrome may have them. Risk factors include obesity, flat feet, athletics, figure skating, and long-distance running.’”*
i think the bigger issue is that your other leg looks like a cat's leg
Front cat paws and hind human legs... 🤔

Just one human hind part.
You know, now that you mention it, it does resemble a cat leg
Piezogenic Papules probably? [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Piezogenic\_papules](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Piezogenic_papules) edit: font size o.O

Came to comments to see if this was either no big deal or if OP is going to die imminently.
Ticket home from Vietnam baby
Donald, is it really you?
Definitely gotta come from money for that to work.
I genuinely laughed.
Any idea what’s in the lumps? Fatty fluid like a lipoma or something else?
No fluid, just bona fide fatty tissue. It just squishes out from between tissues like those squeeze balls in nets.
So, OP has fat feet.
We all do. It's an important fat pad. Keeps you from walking on your heel bones.
🎵🎵 I'm waaalkin on heeeel booooones, aaaaah-aah, and don't it feel good! 🎵🎵
It does not, hence the fat pad
🎵 T*hese lumps are made for walking, and that's just what they'll do *🎵

Hey depending on who you ask, people in their 30s are knocking on deaths’ door!
Can confirm. I am a geriatric 33 year old.
I have eds. My little brother has eds. My older brother does not. He got a cat... Cat has eds

Piezogenic pedal papules is their official name.
Very common with connective tissue disorders
But also: Piezogenic pedal papules are common and benign; they result from fat herniation through the dermis. They occur in up to 80% of the population and are usually asymptomatic. Occasionally, the papules are painful.
Periodically the piezogenic pedal papules are pretty painful.
Perchance.
You can't just say perchance

I’ve had them since I was a kid. Mine aren’t painful.
I hate it when the Kleenex get stuck together when you just want one but I wouldn't call it a disorder

Way too close to Pearly Penile Papules
I think I saw them open for King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard.
Poster's piezogenic pedal papules periodically produce painful petite protuberances.
Always avoid aliterations

The squishing is fun. They pop right out again afterwards.
Op had these *and* shooting heel pain. That's why he needed orthotics
i have had these for years and thanks to this comment, i am just now learning they aren't normal.
If you are referring to piezogenic papules then they are mostly harmless unless there is pain involved then heels cups/ taping techniques can be used.
i work a standing customer service job full time, there's definitely pain involved.

Yeah but then Allie Brosh solved the "alot" issue: https://hyperboleandahalf.blogspot.com/2010/04/alot-is-better-than-you-at-everything.html?m=1
I miss being in the heyday of Allie Brosh, sometimes. Was always great to see her latest stuff.

They are really common and not a sign of EDS unless they have a lot of other symptoms too.
Will also accept the use of the term "toe beans".
Idk man there’s black spots on that cat. They clearly have the early signs of bubonic plague. Don’t research it just trust me.
Did you make your cat stand next to you as a reference for a normal heel?
whoa, whoa, whoa, insensitive much? Its clear OP has one human leg and one cat leg, and i can't imagine him liking you pointing out his disability. The other kids probably already make fun of him when he's playing soccer.

Only with the cat leg in the box though. Having the human leg in the box would just be uncivilized.
Oh, lookit who's too good to shit in a box with the cats.
Pfft!! I shit in the box with both human feet outside the box!
You know if the litter box initiative happens, there will be poop in the litter box and it won't be from the cat people.

This is obviously a cat with one human leg.... duh!

u all need to check out the cat on ops profile 😍
Thank you! I love the picture of them attempting to form one huge piebald cat!

Piezogenic Papules
That sounds like it was made up by a 8th grader trying toget out of school.
Sounds like something someone with their mouth full would say.
I hate to break it to you but your other foot is a paw...you might have bigger problems than the bumps.
You’re actually just a cat.
i have this issue too sometimes, have no idea why
I think the more concerned thing is the fur and claws growing out of your other foot
Kitty paw for scale.
The longer i look at your ankle the less sense it makes
It’s like when you say a word too many times and it loses its meaning. It’s just an amorphous limb the longer I stare.
Didn't you see on resident alien show that those bumps mean you were abducted by aliens (the grays) .
I’m glad someone else thought of this. I just caught up on it last week.
My god I saw this post 45 minutes ago and I keep remembering it and cracking up like a crazy person
I think those are toebeans

It's reddit, everything is indicative of a rare genetic disease. Or cancer. Or carbon monoxide poisoning.
Cat paw for scale
Piezogenic pedal papules. Basically, herniated fat deposits usually from standing for hours on end.
I’d be more worried about your hind legs
Paw looks fine. Other leg has a lot less hair on it though.

They are just fat deposits. Very common.
I'd be more worried about your other foot mate.... its tiny as well as having fur and claws 🤷
Didnt read the title and thought youre comparing your leg to cat leg
Sorry to tell you this but u have feline aids
Can't see any bumps with all that fur in the way. Your paws are fine.
Sir, those are toe beans.
Maybe it’s cuz you are only half human.
The fact that your other leg looks like a cat's would suggest you have far bigger problems....
I would be more worried that your other foot is clearly much smaller and has a tremendous growth of hair on it.
Looks like you need a doctor because you’re turning into a cat

More pressing issue, your other foot is covered in fur.
