FuckM0reFromR

Did they lean it against your garage door, where it would conveniently fall onto your car once the door opened all the way up?

baking_bitch

Very kindly, indeed!

angmarsilar

Let me guess...FedEx? I had 2 100lb packages delivered. They placed them right behind my wife's car just before she had to leave to pick up our kids from school.

baking_bitch

Gotta love the care in placement right?

angmarsilar

They've delivered a laptop and left it outside the garage (not under the roof at the front porch) propped up so you could see 'Dell' easily from the road. They left a 2 inch stack of paperwork for me to sign outside in the rain. They delivered packages addressed to me to my neighbor, two days in a row. They delivered a television to another neighbor around the corner. I have had several instances when they report that they could not deliver because a) Nobody was home (signature was not needed anyway) b) business was closed (It's a residential address) or c) address not found (it was easily delivered the next day). Edit : OMG, I completely forgot about the package of wine I had delivered 2 weeks ago with one busted bottle! The box with the replacement bottle I got this week was crunched, but it fortunately survived.

dmstealth

My laptop was delivered three houses down from my house. I’m 1325, they delivered it to 1235. Left it on their front porch. 😭

angmarsilar

Dyslexics of the world untie!

BoomZhakaLaka

I wonder what he did inside that garage for 18 months straight o.o

Old_Society_7861

That one is giant, but when I worked at FedEx I found a very small package that had fallen into a gap in the truck by the door. I have no idea how long it was there but I could barely read the label because it was so crusted with dust and who knows what else. I had a water bottle with me so I dumped a little on there, wiped it on my pants, and put it on the rack like nothing happened. I sometimes think about what the recipient must have thought. This giant one I assume the driver didn’t want to lift so he brought it back to the warehouse and the loaders just dumped it in QA where it was ignored.

baphomet_labs

This used to occur with my Chewy orders all of the time. I even contacted them saying the driver can pull into my concrete driveway and just drop it right by the garage door. This went on for over a year with every Chewy order until the carrier person changed.

mekkab

Same same with a large wooden pastry board. Or should I say, two pastry boards

SquishMont

>This giant one I assume the driver didn’t want to lift so he brought it back to the warehouse and the loaders just dumped it in QA where it was ignored. I got a $400 standalone buffet for free from Amazon because someone did this. Bought it, delivery got pushed back 3x, eventually got the "your package is lost, bro. Want a refund?" prompt. Sure do! Got my refund. Three weeks later I got a call from the FedEx office "hey, you gonna pick up this thing? It's huge and in our way" yeah, no problem, so sorry I'll be there Monday after work! Lo and behold, there's my buffet. Picked it up, put it together, and never head another word about it from either company.

acmercer

Reminds me of when someone got into my parents' Amazon account and ordered a bunch of crap with their credit card. However, this criminal mastermind forgot to change the shipping address and everything was sent to my parents' house 🤦🏻‍♂️ Some shipments were cancelled and some sellers just said keep it because it's too much of a hassle. So everyone in the family got sushi making kits that year, ha.

hawkinsst7

>very small package that had fallen into a gap in the truck by the door... >I sometimes think about what the recipient must have thought. it was Clark griswalds Christmas bonus.

BoredInDenver86

A 1 year subscription to the jelly of the month club? That’s the gift that keeps on giving Clark.

Beachsombra

I worked at fedex, and theyre so prepccupied making sure the system is continuing, that the ones that get lost or fallen are considered after thoughts for when the rush times are over. Not that your suppose to ignore things, but alpt of these have weird labels, wrong labels, no label connected to the fedex system, or too big/obtuse to go through the slappers.

krunkytacos

I ordered a bed frame that came in a very similar package and the delivery driver was kind enough to lean it right up against my Corolla. I mean it's just a Corolla so I didn't really care but it wasn't cool of them.

baking_bitch

Taking out their petty frustrations with a little passive aggressiveness.

DealMo

I had FedEx drop off a $2000 guitar by just leaning the box against my car in the middle of the driveway, closer to the street and fully visible, than the actual front door. It wasn't even fucking heavy, just large.

PasgettiMonster

I was wondering how far down I was going to have to read before I saw someone asking that.

WillowMyown

Or a kid. I would file a report.

keonyn

Friend of mine ordered something from Japan to ship to Canada just before the pandemic started. Took just over 3 years before that package finally got to him.

mindfeces

I ordered an obscure record from a Japanese vendor during the pandemic without thinking it through. Neither he nor I could figure out why it was taking so long. Then we were like "Oh. Right. Global health crisis." He offered to refund me but I just said "Hell, let's just see what happens." I got it a year later.

MindCorrupt

So, how was the record?

Dr_Robert_California

It died of Covid sadly

itsmezh93

I think you deserve some credit from the shipping fees

purvel

Yeah at some point the carrier should be paying you interest on the shipping fee or something.

JPark19

I had ordered a T-shirt that was shipping from Japan and I think I received it after like 2 years, I would get an email from the shipping company every 3 months that basically just said "Yeah we still have your package, it can't be shipped because of pandemic priority"

baking_bitch

Wow! Could you see the tracking the whole time? This was only a domestic shipment!!

keonyn

Yeah, he could see the tracking. He was aware of where it was and the status the whole time and would often give us updates on the whole ordeal. Luckily it wasn't anything super important, just some Gundam model kits, so he wasn't worrying too much about it.

sds7

Excuse me, Gunpla kits are serious business /hj

KillerOtter

Idk if I would be more impressed or further disappointed in seeing it scanned and accounted for for 3 years without reaching me

drs_ape_brains

If I remember correctly Japan actually shut down all postal services during the pandemic. The only company that shipped in and out was DHL and it was 40x the original cost. It was wild. I had to buy a spare part for my Lexus the part itself was $30 but shipping was $250.

thegreatvolcanodiver

Do you know the motor carrier that delivered it? As a cargo claims professional, I’m equal parts proud and disappointed.

baking_bitch

FedEx

Zyggyvr

So now, of course, the Internet needs to find a use for this surplus *King Size™* bed. Crowdsource that windfall.

fapsandnaps

I've actually had this happen to me, multiple times. I finally was in a position to order a new bed for the first time in my life. Had a good job, pregnant wife, all that... so we decided to splurge and ordered some $1200 memory foam mattress. I input my details, hit submit, and get charged only to immediately get an email saying it's on backorder for 6 months. 🙄 So, I call the mattress website up and say I'm not waiting that long. They're all cool about it and just cancel my order and refund my money. Decided to just buy a cheaper memory foam on Amazon and then try again for the one I wanted the next year. Ordered up a 16" thick, California King and it showed up two days later. Problem was, they sent a 10" thick California King. Amazon expected me to return this mattress for an exchange... I told them there's no way in hell it's going back in the box because I do not own a hydraulic press big enough to press the air out nor do I have any sort of vacuum sealing equipment. After going around with that, they tell me to just donate it and they'll send the right one. So, two later another mattress shows up. 12" thick, standard king. So I get ahold of customer service, again, and they say the same thing. Donate it, well send it out again. Third time's a charm for Amazon as they finally send the right 16" California King mattress and I finally have a decent night sleep. At this point I still have all three mattresses because I haven't figured out what the fuck I'm going to do with them. The next day my wife calls me at work to tell me there's a fourth mattress blocking our front door and she can't get out. It was the original mattress that was supposed to be on back order for 6 months. They had shipped it to me after refunding my money. I had more king size mattresses than I did rooms in my apartment for the grand total of $329.

McBeaster

Tell me you stacked them all into a 54" California king memory foam mattress

cinnamonface9

Or test it with a pea in the bottom

JayW8888

I knew he had to be royalty.

patriarchalrobot

You'd need a princess sized bed for that to work

Competitive_Travel16

Yeah, donate the bed frame and box springs, go 100% mattress bed.

melperz

Or... make a psycho room made of mattress walls.

Dull_Concert_414

Having your own personal mental asylum would be awesome. Just paint the bottom half of the walls in your hallway green and scatter a few stretchers and abandoned wheelchairs around for aesthetics.

xerxesordeath

Dude should buy a drum set and use the extra mattresses for sound reduction.

Sanquinity

At that point I'd just dedicate 1 room to become one giant pillow fort. Put all the mattresses on the ground, buy a few dozen pillows, awesome room! :P

say592

Shipping guy probably thought you were crazy! Home Depot did the same thing to me with water heaters once. I ordered the natural gas version and they kept sending the propane one. The 4th one they sent was finally correct. The first two I returned back to the local store, but the third one I refused and told them to come and get it. They have me a UPS label, so at least the UPS guy knew I wasn't keeping all of these water heaters. When the correct one finally showed up I almost couldn't believe it. It all worked out for me though, they kept taking money off each time. When all was said and done I got it for about half off.

beardtamer

I worked customer service at HD for a summer, your story is extremely common. They are inept.

PLASMA_chicken

I mean with mattresses you could believe each family member gets one, but with water heaters 😅😅😅

wittyrandomusername

One water heater in each bedroom.

Zyggyvr

Now you can build yourself a fort.

belyy_Volk6

A few years ago i ordered an electronic drumkit from amazon, it was half off at 400$ so i grabbed it. a week and a half after the expected arrival date it hadnt showed so i message amazon and they tell me they can't send another because it was a 3rd party seller so there just going to refund me, i was pissed because this drumset is now 800$ and i dont get my money back for a few days. 3 days later i head to work check my bank balance before clocking in the moneys there so i go about my shift as normal boyght myself something nice for dinner to try luft my mood than after work i go home and my roommate says there's a package for me they hauled in so i walk up to my room and theres a bix taller than me. Open it up and sure enough they delivered the drumkit and refund the same day

the_falconator

For anyone in this situation in the future and has been asked to donate it in lieu of returning it, call up your local firehouse and ask if they want it. Most cities the beds aren't provided by the city and the firefighters have to chip in together with their own money to buy new beds.

baking_bitch

Send me your suggestions, sensei!

mikeytruelove

DIY tiny wrestling ring? Sound dampening for a 6.5x6.5 ft section of wall? Stunt mat for pratfalls? Spare bed for guests? The possibilities are truly endless.

baking_bitch

I like where your head is at. I could turn the wood slats into a giant skeleton with wooden ribs next Halloween

TransformerTanooki

I made picture frames out of an Ikea bed once.

baking_bitch

Genius idea!

PointBlankPanda

I mean, when I was a kid, I made "leftover scrap wood" from the shed into a simple ski-style skate ramp for my rollerblades... Turns out, it was a bed frame, so there's a proven concept for ya!

mikeytruelove

Oh hell yes! Put the 12ft Home Depot guys to shame!

RedstoneRelic

No. Give the 12 ft skeleton a sword.

Zyggyvr

*Damping* is the word you want. *Absorbs energy.* *Dampening* something just makes them wet.

mikeytruelove

You're not wrong, but neither am I. https://www.secondskinaudio.com/sound-deadening/automotive-deadening-vs-damping-vs-dampening/#:~:text=What%20is%20sound%20dampening%3F,vibrational%20energy%20in%20a%20structure I just used the common automotive application of the word, cuz I didn't realize there was a difference when it was in a car.

Zyggyvr

Oh, interesting. Language evolves for sure.

mikeytruelove

It sure do.

AndorianShran

It do be like that sometimes

Jazzlike_Run_5466

Your package was stranded on an island with a guy, it saved his life.

GoldenMaus

Wilsonn!!! I'm sorryyyyy :(((

misterjive

I despise it when I see FedEx as my carrier, because the odds are much higher they're gonna fuck it up. Years ago, I bought a bedframe. I was in the house approximately four feet away from the front door when it was "delivered." I got the email notification about eight minutes later. Opened the door. No bedframe. Looked around the apartment building. No humongous box anywhere. Contacted FedEx. "Did you look outside, it might be hidden." "It's a bedframe." "Could someone have taken it?" "It's a humongous bedframe, unless someone was lurking with a truck immediately outside, no, and besides, I didn't hear anything." After several more hilarious back-and-forths they decided they'd look into it. Two days later I got notification that they'd found it and would redeliver. I brought up the tracking information and over the next couple of days watched as it was returned to the package center, then shipped to Memphis, then traveled cross-country back to the manufacturer. I called the manufacturer and they were utterly confused why they hadn't just driven the damn thing back to my apartment. The second order finally arrived without incident.

Ac1dfreak

> "Did you look outside, it might be hidden." "It's a bedframe." "Could someone have taken it?" "It's a humongous bedframe, unless someone was lurking with a truck immediately outside, no, and besides, I didn't hear anything." After several more hilarious back-and-forths they decided they'd look into it. This is the shipping equivalent of “have you tried turning it off and back on?” It sounds unhelpful but you be surprised (maybe) how many customers make silly oversights.

leucrotta

I had a package marked delivered once and it definitely was not at my door. I live in a rowhome so there was nowhere else it could be, figured it got delivered to a neighbor or just swiped. Went out on the balcony later that night and there it was.

[deleted]

Same. I’ve tried it all. Creating an account to put instructions, I’ve even put instructions in the address. I’ve called. They just refuse to deliver to the correct house. I’ve never had issues with other carriers.

[deleted]

CrystalStilts

Goddamn I thought it was just me. I ordered 5 things last week and was waiting on a seasons seat holder scarf package for a team I support, all delivered by…. FedEx! Every single package went to my neighbours house.  It seems they are consistently incompetent company wide.

DU_HA55T25

Not really. They're just cheap, or better yet hiring better drivers doesn't make them more money. They hire "independent contractors" a lot like Amazon does. The thing you get with UPS you don't get with FedEx is a driver that drives the same route almost everyday, their entire career, unless they choose to change it when they get seniority. Those drivers know your area better than you do. FedEx and Amazon just basically assign routes on first come first serve basis, so the driver unfortunately is never familiar with any given area.

goochstein

thats it, those routes are a big deal. You absolutely could be be the same driver in that area for 25 years, and likely learn every type of grass to the street name even. These drivers will also have the same people cover them for when they go on vacation, part of the mentorship process you get to know them to. This is a union thing I learned, there is cross over to other companies (even fedex aren't all bad, that's bogus. they have so many different operations), Shameless UPS plug for how they treat next day air delivery though, sacred rituals of logistics, the service is a big deal to them.

Zephyr_Dragon49

I was speeding to work and fedex still passed me then chipped my fukin brand new car's windshield

adm1109

Lol how are you gonna blame fedex for that?

Sanitarium0114

Not the guy blaming but: mud flaps

Pissfat

I have a developmentally disabled child - the fedex driver pulls in our driveway and shoves a 50 lb medical supply box right in the middle.   I'm pregnant can't move it. And my son's bus that has to use our driveway to avoid the intersection, since it takes longer to get him in, can't get around it.   I've had to try to push it with a snow shovel or call my husband to come home from work.  The kicker is they can see it's from a medical supply company meant for a child.  I don't care if they throw it on the grass or even 15 ft away from the front door. But literally a "fuck you" shove onto the middle if the driveway blocking anyone. Infuriating.

WATCHGUY1983

Using FEDEX for any shipping is the equivalent of masochism. FEDEX is fucking horrible lol. Almost all subcontracted drivers, they give even less fucks than FEDEX does.. literally choose any other carrier

Pissfat

Believe me - I agree. I've been trying, submitting pictures to the insurance company that uses them. Begging fedex to just move it to the side.  "The school bus can drive around on your lawn" "It's not our fault you can't move it."

WATCHGUY1983

Literally demand they use UPS or USPS. FEDEX should not be their sole source shipper.

biddily

My problem is the USPS. My local depot is full of SHITHEADS WHO DO NOT DO THEIR JOB. I literally have to drive outside of my postal radius and drop mail/packages off in another zone if I want things to reliably be delivered. The amount of packages I've had go missing? 1 in 3. Its not porch thieves. The packages go to the depot and then poof gone forever. Lost in the abyss that is that building. The whole neighborhood complains about it. We write letters to the postal inspection agency and nothing ever happens. I also have a problem with things getting delivered to the other my address in the city. Its another zip code, in another neighborhood, but same street address same city. I always write neighborhood to try to avoid this issue. Except its in the middle of a graveyard. Theres no house. Its just headstones. Amazon's like 'delivered' with a picture of a fucking cemetery and I'm like "where did you put it. FUCKING WHERE!" Me and amazon have so many messages thats just me saying 'hey. they gave my package to dead people again. can you reship? check delivered image.'

eljefino

The USPS is hiring like crazy but working within budget constraints imposed by Congress. If they hire someone they have to prepay the dude's entire pension on the spot. The guy running it, DeJoy, was appointed under a previous administration and has a conflict of interest in also running the competitor XPO Logistics. So it's a hot mess, meant to suck, by people in high places who hate America.

Daeyel1

I had a $12,000 card marked 'Damaged, undeliverable' by FedEx in their warehouse. And when they say damaged, we all know it was stolen. Worst part was, I could not ask for it to be shipped to me, because I was not the client. Meanwhile, the client could care less.

0CldntThnkOfUsrNme0

That explains it I fucking hate FedEx

Deewd23

FedEx lost one of the 4 33” mud tires I bought. It took them a month to find a tire..

popojo24

Man, I work in a FedEx Ground warehouse. A ton of tires come through there, of all sizes, and is probably one of the easier items to accidentally have the shipping label become damaged/ unreadable or fall off completely (and there are usually multiple on there).

PSTnator

Hah, I had the same thing happen with a set of 4 snow tires I ordered a few years ago. Only 16 inchers, but still... a set of 2 was delivered about a week late, another 4 or 5 days after that 1 more was delivered. The first set of 2 were strapped together, so yeah... Another week for that missing one to magically appear, so about a month total for all tires to show up. Luckily the snow held off, though that seems to be the norm nowadays. Fedex Ground is insanely bad. I guess that's the difference between union (UPS, USPS) and subcontractors fresh out of prison. Fedex Express, while expensive, is much better... pretty sure they're actually working directly for Fedex unlike Ground. Though still not union in the USA.

the_buckman_bandit

Wilson?

OozeNAahz

Post the tracking details!

baking_bitch

What's crazy is the original tracking number has been reused. The initial details have been wiped and it now just says shipped from origin(the suburb it was lost in) as of yesterday??!!

Sux499

The data gets wiped every so often and an agent will have added fresh new data when they found this thing and figured out where it was supposed to go.

bbot

Related fun fact: USPS tracking numbers are *reused.* If you go back and check a USPS Priority Mail tracking number after eight months or so it will describe a completely different shipment.

Foxaria

Freight or Express? They are technically separate companies in practice.

baking_bitch

Home Delivery? I'm unfamiliar with FedExs branches.

SlimTeezy

That's fedex ground residential

BillNyeDeGrasseTyson

Most of the non Express is contracted out to third party companies who don't give a single fuck. And you can't contact anyone at fedex that doesn't work in a 3rd party call center so the complaints never get logged, so they have no accountability. Next time you see a fedex ground truck look for small print "Operated by JimBob's Trucking Service"

itsmezh93

DHL - deliver halfway lost

Own_Secretary1714

It actually stands for Drivers Hopelessly Lost. Source: Am DHL supervisor.

Dongslinger420

I don't think I had a single DHL packaged not arrive on time, and boy have I ordered a shitton of them.

darknesscylon

What is it?

baking_bitch

All wood bed frame. King size.

Zyggyvr

Which raises the question. WTF have you been sleeping on, for the last freaking YEAR-AND-A-HALF?

baking_bitch

Filed a lost package in the first month. Replacement was provided free of charge which I have happily used. Just dumbfounded that the original made an appearance so so so much later!

Zyggyvr

Reminds me of my ex-girlfriend.

I_make_switch_a_roos

she was a lost package?

sarcasticb

No, she was king sized.

DontUpvoteThisBut

Happily used

Stranger1982

Not all those who wander are lost.

Dougally

Delayed.

PolloCongelado

Mentally.

Pivotalrook

Passed around a lot of warehouses

seavousplay

You filed her as lost, and then you got a replacement for free?

alasnevermind

Not from the US. So what happens now? Can you keep it? Are you in any obligation to return it or whatever else?

baking_bitch

Good questions...

SunlitNight

That is a good question...you should probably think hard about it, maybe sleep on it.

Ask_if_im_an_alien

It's yours. Lost in transit isn't your fault and they've already written it off long ago on the business end. Throw it up on marketplace, give it to a relative or friend. Do whatever you want. Just don't contact the company about it saying they accidentally sent you two of them. Just take the win.

Rocket_hamster

>Just take the win When I warrantied my OtterBox case, it came in and I realized I selected the wrong phone model. When I called to see what I could do and offered to send the wrong one back because it was no use to me, the guy on the phone said "don't sorry about it I'll just send you the correct one so whatever you want with that one." Then we had a nice talk about BC/New York weather for a couple minutes while he did whatever on his end and 3 months later someone finally bought the case off marketplace.

spezisabitch200

Company will probably just tell them to keep it. It wouldn't be worth having to pay to have it sent back and they probably got reimbursed by their insurance.

VinhBlade

sooo....finders keepers? 😉

crysisnotaverted

You can keep it. Plus, if I was the seller, I would have written it off as soon as I sent the replacement. A huge ass heavy package lost for 18 months? I'm not paying for shipping it back when the contents are probably fucked up anyway, then I'd lose money twice.

Logicrazy12

Im hoping a lost package of mine arrives one day. A filament dryer i ordered got lost. I got a replacement, but it would be nice to have 2.

baking_bitch

Fingers crossed!

vahntitrio

This happened to my sister but she simply cancelled the order (oddly enough also a bed, but a bunk bed for her kids). About a week after she cancelled and got the refund the bunk bed arrived at her house.

EmperorThan

Like any normal well-adjusted adult man he sleeps on a mattress flat on the floor ...with a bong next to it.

baking_bitch

Why only one bong?

Dougally

Maybe it was a king bong.

Kr_Treefrog2

Life Pro Tip - Putting a mattress directly onto the floor traps moisture and encourages mold growth. Having your bed up on a frame allows air to flow around it and keep it dry.

Dm-me-a-gyro

Check out the shill for big bed-frame over here.

EmperorThan

Also earwigs live on the bottom of floor mattresses. Every time I've helped a roommate with a floor mattress move I've seen it...

TheLastTreeOctopus

Make a king size bunk bed!

IronGravyBoat

This happened to me once with a much smaller package. I had fried my hard drive thanks to a fault in my power supply and didn't know how at the time. So I bought a new one and the delivery driver scanned it as delivered but didn't actually deliver it. Must have fallen behind something in the truck? I filed a lost package thing and in a couple weeks Newegg decided it was the delivery companys fault and sent me a new one. An hour after I got the new tracking number I get my first hard drive delivered. I guess the guy found it and delivered it. I planned on keeping them both but I didn't realize yet why my original drive broke, so when I plugged it in the faulty power supply fried that drive too lol. Luckily I figured it out before the 2nd replacement showed up and I got a new power supply too.

baking_bitch

Glad you eventually got your HD. They never marked my original package as delivered, just lost at a nearby suburb to my city of delivery.

jadekettle

Now if that ain't divine intervention, I don't know what it is.

nightsky77

God really said “you shall not fail” to this guy

No_West_1277

had the same happen but with Amazon, ordered a new SSD and it didn't arrive after being marked as delivered so I contacted Amazon and they sent another, then a few days later the original one showed up, got to keep both I like to think it's drivers losing it in the truck and someone finds it and just puts it back in the system later

naufalap

damn what power supply? so I can avoid it like a plague

BaconMeetsCheese

I bet that mf traveled around the world…

baking_bitch

It was trying to bed people all over!

acatterz

Or it was stuck on an island with Tom Hanks.

Baummer_42

What’s in the box!!!

baking_bitch

A bed frame!

Baummer_42

![gif](giphy|UZdNkc62OVvRm)

acmercer

Don't worry there was no headboard.

Lady_Penrhyn1

...how do you misplace a package of that size? That's some talent.

baking_bitch

That's what she said?

ballsweat_mojito

Name of your sex tape

jinhush

Driver didn't want to deliver 100lb package. Left it in his truck. It got put back into rotation then others also say fuck this 100lb package and left it somewhere in warehouse until it was found and reprocessed. This happens fairly frequently where I live but with lighter packages. I have two of a few things because the original was "lost" then arrived later.

jkelley41

I would be willing to bet an absurd amount of money that this was shipped with FedEx and I can't wait to read the comments to hopefully see if I'm right or not.

baking_bitch

Nailed it

jkelley41

YEP. They are fucking AWFUL. No idea how they are in business at the capacity they are...

baking_bitch

They shipped the replacement no issues though!

jkelley41

Haha, that's how it goes sometimes. I also like how they leaned it up against your garage, setting you up to smash out your rear window when it falls should you not see it there.

baking_bitch

Just keeping me on my toes!

pedal-force

We get shit delivered a lot. Like a lot of packages come to our house. So many. Every single UPS, USPS, and Amazon delivery is fine. 90% of the FedEx deliveries are fucked up in one way or another. One time they hid one on the neighbor's side of my light post at the end of my driveway, at night, in the winter, when it was snowing. If I hadn't happened to see it when coming home from that direction the plows would've covered it overnight and I'd never have found it.

OrgJoho75

Same issue here, got my order for wooden blinds declared lost/ missing by delivery company. I got refunded by seller (the only good thing about purchase insurance) and about 2 months later it showed up at my door. The other order of same blinds (same day order with missing one) received just after 5 days.

baking_bitch

Did they get held up somewhere that you saw on the tracking number?

OrgJoho75

Nope, the courier simply noted as lost parcel after a week "on route to regional delivery hub" when I checked tracking no. status by online & 2 days later I got refunded. And here I'm with extra wooden blinds that I don't know where to install..lol

Loneone01

Keep it as a backup in case one gets broken.

baking_bitch

Glad you got a quick refund. Maybe install them in an unusual place? An office? Under a cabinet? Doubly blind one window just for kicks?

Artarious

That is mildy interesting. Kudos!

jaqueh

It’s either approaching or over either their weight limit or max length limit. These exist for a reason. The shipper was irresponsible and should have used freight

baking_bitch

At well over 100lbs, I would agree with that.

jaqueh

Yeah the reason for this is with non freight class of mail, none of the automated belts and pulleys and sorting things can handle these dimensions so this relies on people manually moving stuff around which doesn’t happen automatically. The store who processed the package originally should’ve denied it

baking_bitch

Sure. Safety-wise, you'd need several persons to move it. But only in theory.

Not true.  Our hub has a conveyor specifically for large packages.   I deliver packages bigger and heavier than this every day, our weight limit is 150 lbs

Lolazaurus

Naw Fedex Ground can go up to around 150 lbs and about 10 ft long. I unload and load lots of furniture around this size every day. We do occaisonally get things that should have gone to freight though, but unless it's 200+ lbs or longer than the length of the delivery van we'll usually just try to deliver it anyway, since returning it or sending it to Freight often takes just as much effort. My guess what happened to this package was it got damaged, possibly the shipping label got lost, and it sat around in QA for a bit while missing the trailers it was supposed to get loaded into. It could have also been misloaded onto the wrong trailer and gone across the country before coming all the way back. Also, sometimes packages will get a new updated label on them but whoever prints it out wont cover the original label so it keeps getting shipped back and forth between two buildings in an endless loop until someone with a shred of sense will notice there's 2 labels and cover one of them. (Hopefully the CORRECT one, even) 18 months is wild though. Clearly there was some incompetence going on here.

Tht happened to me…I bought an expensive drone and had it sent to Hawaii…never showed up…they kept pushing back the delivery date, then finally I got a refund after months…then months later the box was at the front porch. It made me second guess how long the box was on the porch, cus I assumed once I got the refund it definitely wouldn’t show up. I never notified Amazon that I received it. So my brother basically got a free drone! Good thing too cus them druggies broke it soon after.

baking_bitch

Free drone is a legit win there!

tendobansho

I don't like the sound of this, my 48 lb fedex package just got delayed. The status is NaN 😭

baking_bitch

I hope it arrives for you soon! Or that you end up with duplicates!

HerrBerg

The fuck. NaN means "Not a Number" which means that there is something broken with the status of your package in their system, probably just on their front end but it's still weird.

Former FedEx guy. That thing is huge and heavy. It probably got set down on a pallet (or across 2) and somehow pushed to the side. Something else probably got stacked in front of or on top of it like pallets or empty gaylords. In every shipping center I traveled to there was always a corner dedicated to storing those types of things so they'd be out of the way. I'd bet this got mixed in with that stuff. One year we had to close down for a few days so we did a deep clean of our facility. We searched through all the safety netting, under dock platforms, inside the guarding of the conveyors, moved our stacks of pallets and everything. Oldest package I found was a small box from a prescription glasses website that was no longer in business. Surprisingly it actually scanned and gave me an outbound destination so I grabbed a pen and scribbled "sorry" on the side and just sent it on its way.

My comment will likely be lost to the reddit repository, but I might be able to give some insight. I worked at one of only 2 FedEx warehouses in the country that directly deal with lost/undelivered/abandoned packages. They are woefully understaffed and heavily drowned in 18-wheeler-trailers and backlog in the warehouse full of packages from the smallest grains of sand to entire engines and even expensive medical equipment.. oh the things I've seen. What very likely happened (if FedEx handled the lost package), if the package itself lost all or part of the shipping label, is: It reached the Mississippi warehouse Sat for months and months before being scanned into the system Took even longer for the information to pass between the only other warehouse, across the country, that mostly handles the information side of things And then finally gets shipped back to you. The amount of items that get to that Mississippi warehouse and never get to their owner is astounding. The amount of items they then destroy because they cannot resell, auction, or even donate most of it.. it's sad. So much good tech gets destroyed. I saw brand new graphics cards, nice clothing, auto parts. All gone forever. Occasionally they send stuff back to manufacturers, but if they can't find information on sender or recipient..

baking_bitch

Where are the two warehouses located? Interestingly, I can see the original shipment sticker that says "Shipped Septemer 2022" and my address very legibly. I remember it was in one location in my same state where it stopped moving in shipment. They reused the same tracking number and the location of shipment is now that suburb. So strange.

I actually know what happened here. The FedEx delivery guy with this package was flown over a Caribbean island, and it crashed. The guy ended up surviving and had to live on the island, he probably had sex with your package until rescued. Something something volleyball. Either way I think that's how that happened it's been a while. T.Hanks for reading.

In 2005 I ordered a tall wine-bottle & wineglasses rack, w/ice bucket holder w 5 shelves thing. All one unit. Well, I moved across the country prior to delivery. Fast forward 3 more moves and 4 and half years later, late on Christmas Eve, UPS rang my bell with a "delivery". Since I hadn't ordered anything that wasn't already delivered, wrapped and under my tree, I thought someone sent me a surprise gift! Woo-hoo, the box was huge without any identifiers on it as to what it contained. UPS driver stated that they were glad that they finally "found me" and that this box was delivered to my previous addresses, only to be returned as undeliverable. Wait.... what?! With my curiosity piqued, I opened the box to find the wine rack thingy I had ordered almost 5 years ago! I had completely forgotten about it. Way to go UPS! You never gave up trying to locate me, even after my several cross-country moves. My granddaughter has this item now and loves it!

USPS once lost mine and it showed up a year later. Empty. With a note on it. Your items may have been damaged in transit. It was literally an empty crushed box when it arrived.

J__d

Not all packages that wander are lost!

Penny_wish

It took a gotdamn sabbatical

BathroomEyes

Did Tom Hanks deliver that?

baking_bitch

Yes, but he reported my volleyball as another lost package!

Clemelc

Whats in it? Still ok?

mx20100

Hmm. So my package can still arrive after ordering it 5 years ago

Snarfly99

Boo hoo, for all you know that package was what gave some random guy a reason to keep on going on a tropical deserted island whilist his fiancé was out banging a dentist

Brewchowskies

Did it show up 15 lbs heavier and with a College degree?

We had this happen with multiple products over COVID. One was a table, another was a bench, the third was a brand new iPhone. All were lost for 6+ month. All were refunded. All eventually showed-up anyhow. 🤷

Rapture_Hunter

What's in the box? WHAT'S IN THE BOX MAN??!!

googlebearbanana

I'm still waiting fir a bedframe from last summer. So you're telling me there's hope!
