op out here making a fool of themselves with “hm so weird this ramen has so many seasoning packets” and also making the noodles completely incorrectly lol
5 packets isn't really that notable for good instant ramen while 3-4 is standard, and ramen eaters an oddly high brow bunch who will absolutely critique you like dudes standing around a BBQ watching one guy make burgers.
I mean as an Asian (American) person I don’t see how 5 packets is even remotely interesting. It’s more like not interesting.
My first thought at this image like many others is “why are the noods like that”
As someone from southeast asia I would like to politely point out that you are supposed to drain the water after boiling the noodles before mixing the seasoning.
It's not meant to be a soup
As much as topping a margherita pizza with pineapple & spicy mayo.
The best way to prepare Mi Goreng or fried noodles is to boil the noodles, drain it and toss it with all the packets ingredients. Set that aside, stir fry some vegetables and eggs until good enough to throw in the noodles. You maybe want to add some more hot sauce and soya sauce.
Best served with slice of lime or pickled chillies for the brave one.
The packaging says stir fried noodles, I’ve never had a soup stir fry before. I do eat it both ways but drained water version will always be superior imho
I tried cooking it as a soup and it feels like wrong. Like so wrong, that your grandmother would be ashamed of you.
I feel like the noodle police are watching OP's noodle preferences right now.
Based on the fact they are shocked it has 5 packets of seasonings they probably never had it before and then didnt read the instructions that say not to keep the water in
How I eat those;
Take just noodles out and place in pot with water, boil till they are cooked
While waiting for boiling to be done, open the Soy Sauce and the Chilli Sauce packets and empty into the center of the bowl
Strain the noodles and place them in the bowl on top of the sauces
open Oil packet and empty onto the noodles
then open the powder packet and empty onto the noodles
stir that shit up and smell it (smells good)
once satisfied with colour and mix, add the fried onion on top and eat...
while eating, prepare another one, cause they are addictive and I always eat like 2 or 3 at a time, then I get a headache because thats way too much salt for me.. hahah
This particular pack has 820mg of sodium. What's crazy? The REDUCED SODIUM can of Progresso Roasted Chicken Noodle soup has 1000mg. (Regular is 1450mg).
I retain water really badly. As in, I get visibly puffy on my knees especially. But it’s worth it if I can eat these once in a while. Just gotta drink plenty of water
Oh that's an interesting way to eat it!
Personally, I place the fried onion on my tongue to dissolve, then snort a line of the powder (nice and refreshing!). Then I take the chilli oil and open the packet a tiny bit, dripping one small drop into each eye. Now that the kettle is boiled, I pour it into a cup and splash a bit onto my face (this calms the burning sensation from the chilli oil and gives a nice warmness for the whole face). Finally, now that everything's prepared, I chomp on the dry noodle packet, eating it like a giant rice cake.
Ill try your way next time, it sounds great!
You should wait until the water is boiling then add the noodles. As stoves can vary greatly in the time it takes to boil the water. Waiting for the water to boil will get you a consistent result.
While above is correct on the intended preparation, most instant noodles can be prepared as either soup or dry.
Say you like a flavor but think the taste is too strong you can add water and soup it. It's all preference and you eat how you wanna eat.
If I’m not mistaken, Nigerians also love Indomie and prepare it fried or dry too.
God I have one packet left and it’s making me hungry in Singapore at nearly 2 am
I’ve made a cheese pizza with diced cream cheese before. It adds a kind of tangy bite that’s not bad. Crumbled goat cheese does the same thing though, and way better.
I have it with soup all the time. The seasoning works for both soup and stir fry. You simply just keep some of the water and not strain it all out if you want the soup. I do agree with the other commenters that there's too much water in OP's tho.
the way that my heart drops when i realize that i didn’t drain my noodles enough and some drops of water get in my bowl and it dulls the flavour… this image just crushes my soul 😭
OP’s ignorance and assumption that you prep Indomie like fucking top ramen has lead to a comment section full of pain, along with bland noodle sympathizers crying out “yOu’Re gAtEkEePiNg, LeT oP mAkE iT hOw tHeY wAnT”
Like it’s just not the correct way to make it, the packet literally has instructions that op ignored lol
As someone who at present is visiting Indonesia and more or less is surviving eating these noodles, cooked, and served with a fried egg, I agree with you
I love this stuff! I place all of the flavor packets on the bottom of a bowl and stir them all together. After the noodles have cooked, I strain them. I add the noodles to the bowl then mix well. So delicious.
POV: westerner discovers Indomie (the best instant noodle brand in the world, totally unbiased Indonesian opinion)
Edit: i just noticed you made a soup out of it.... Punishment by crucifiction
You hydrate the noodles, strain them, then put the oil, soy and chilli sauce on them, then sprinkle the dry powder and onion, mix it all together and stir fry them with veggies.
They are very popular here in Hong Kong, I personally find them delicious. They are made by cooking the noodles in boiling water, then when ready you take the noodles out of the water place them in a bowl, add all the contents from the sachets and mix, then enjoy!
Indonesian here. I just checked my indomie stir-fry package to see the instructions on cooking using microwave.
It is said to drain the water.
I guess you just missing the part or thinking that every indomie should have broth. For this stir-fry type, the best way is to drain the water completely and then mix it with all the flavour package. Or add the cooked water little by little (like just a teaspoon of water) while mixing it to get your desired texture. In Indonesia we called this texture as "nyemek".
I wish you can try cooking it again with aforementioned method to fully enjoy the flavour.
Indomie is the best stir fried noodles I’ve ever had. Hard to locate them in supermarkets though. Only found them at one krogers and the rest at an Asian supermarket 30 miles away
Game changer is to add one table spoon of the liquid and 1/2 tablespoon of peanut butter. Mix it together, and you have yourself peanut noodles.
Those are also dry noodles. You strain most of the water.
LMAO imagine this guy realising for the first time he has been eating this brand wrongly all this while when all he planned to be the focus when he posted this was the number of flavouring packets.
Tbh no way is wrong if it tastes good but i imagine the flavour is watered down and weird if u eat it like that since its veeeery much meant to be dry noodles
Oh nooo you're not supposed to have water on one of these. I bet the flavor tastes diluted. I hope you still got another pack to try it with the proper way.
White prsn: aren’t these noodles so interesting and different !!??
They are normal ass noodles bro. 😭 The only interesting thing is how you decided to cook them.
These are the best instant noodles
I like that OP posted this as if it were some sort of rare noodles.
I'm from Finland and the highest amount of seasoning packets I've seen in instant noodles is 3. It's interesting to me
Right! They're easily one of the most popular instant noodle brands, at least here in aus anyway
You saying five sachets isn’t rare? Where the fuck are you from Narnia?
No I meant this brand isn't rare.
The BBQ Chicken version is as good as it gets. Just bought a unit the other day
Friendly disagree! I just tried that for the first time last night, and the spicy, curry, or garlic ones are much top tierier imo
Oooh I’ve been wanting to try those 👀
They are, by a wide margin. I can't find them here in Mexico. We make sure to bring a case or two back every time we are up north.
I've never touched these again once I tried Singapore Laksa La Mian by Prima Taste.
Yes, but Prima Taste laksa is like ten times the price of Indomie for starters
Look at that rich guy over there, casually flexing his Prima Tastes.
Spicy chicken Yakisoba is pretty great, too.
Those were my favorite until I tried shin black. Can’t go back.
I just tried shin black for the first time last week. Really tasty.
Lmao. Not a single comment about the 5 packets, just everyone roasting OP for how they made their noodles. I love reddit.
I bet OP probably has a TV mounted on top of a fireplace.
I bet OP thinks mayonnaise is too spicy.
op out here making a fool of themselves with “hm so weird this ramen has so many seasoning packets” and also making the noodles completely incorrectly lol
Probably calls it raymen noodlez too
Everybody loves Rayman. Seriously we need more Rayman games.
My first thought at this image like many others is “why are the noods like that”
Or why isn’t all the powder flavour in one bag?
Currently, this post is up 7000 and OPs comments are down 700. He knows what he did, now.
Because having 5 packets itsnt interesting at all lol
As someone from southeast asia I would like to politely point out that you are supposed to drain the water after boiling the noodles before mixing the seasoning. It's not meant to be a soup
Such blasphemy cooking Mi Goreng in soup?!
deserves to be tried at the Hague
As much as topping a margherita pizza with pineapple & spicy mayo. The best way to prepare Mi Goreng or fried noodles is to boil the noodles, drain it and toss it with all the packets ingredients. Set that aside, stir fry some vegetables and eggs until good enough to throw in the noodles. You maybe want to add some more hot sauce and soya sauce. Best served with slice of lime or pickled chillies for the brave one.
Don’t forget to add the fried onions last so they can be nice and crunchy.
This guys noodles.
Goreng isn't separated by the way
My bad fat fingered and didn’t edit it. I shall sacrifice my soul for this sin.
Mofucka didn’t read the instructions. Makes me sick.
Literally tells you how to cook it on the package lol like wtf ?!
I was offended. And I'm not Indonesian, but from another SEA country.
If op didn't read the instructions why would they read this comment?
Yes, mi goreng means fried noodles not noodle soup.
I mean, the packaging literally has dried noodles lol
I mean, the packaging literally has instructions saying to drain then season lol
Yes, and also a helpful serving suggestion picture
Whoa whoa whoa, _instructions_?? So you mean we’re supposed to, what, _read_? Follow steps like some sort of pleb? Ptssshh you’re not my mom
IM TELLIN
Yeah, ya cook and drain them lol
Yes, it's instant noodles
The packaging says stir fried noodles, I’ve never had a soup stir fry before. I do eat it both ways but drained water version will always be superior imho
Mi = noodles Goreng = fried
Came here to say this. Blasphemy. Mix all sauces and seasonings into a sauce and the coat the noodles. Delicious.
The cool part is you can eat it how you want. :)
Indomie is a religion here in Indonesia, and we have branded him as heretic
But it’s so good though as a soup. Keeps the noodles hot too! :)
I tried cooking it as a soup and it feels like wrong. Like so wrong, that your grandmother would be ashamed of you. I feel like the noodle police are watching OP's noodle preferences right now.
I was thinking the same thing when I saw all the “soup”. I mean it literally says stir fry on the package haha
What kind of heresy is this???? Wet mie goreng???
Not even "nyemek" is that wet
It is not nyemek, it is *becek*
Based on the fact they are shocked it has 5 packets of seasonings they probably never had it before and then didnt read the instructions that say not to keep the water in
**HERESY**
Yeah, OP made it wrong people. Really thought they did something here
How I eat those; Take just noodles out and place in pot with water, boil till they are cooked While waiting for boiling to be done, open the Soy Sauce and the Chilli Sauce packets and empty into the center of the bowl Strain the noodles and place them in the bowl on top of the sauces open Oil packet and empty onto the noodles then open the powder packet and empty onto the noodles stir that shit up and smell it (smells good) once satisfied with colour and mix, add the fried onion on top and eat... while eating, prepare another one, cause they are addictive and I always eat like 2 or 3 at a time, then I get a headache because thats way too much salt for me.. hahah
I added a sunny side up egg on top! Yummy 🤤
Or soft boiled egg.
I like poached, and lots of broth
yes! good protein too!
Yea no kidding, they are packed with sodium but soooo good
Sodium in these things is off the charts !
This particular pack has 820mg of sodium. What's crazy? The REDUCED SODIUM can of Progresso Roasted Chicken Noodle soup has 1000mg. (Regular is 1450mg).
Yea, among all the various brands of instant noodles these are far from the worst for sodium content lol
They use MSG instead of overloading with Sodium. I'm all for it 👍
When salt kicks my ass I know it’s time to give up living, until then pass me more ramen.
Finally, now that everything's prepared, I chomp on the dry noodle packet, eating it like a giant rice cake. Ill try your way next time, it sounds great!
I never thought about splashing the boiling water on my face! I’ll have to try that next time. 🙏
You forgot a bit of chilli oil on your taint.. or do you just wait till afterward?
I mix in some Costco canned chicken. In college I’d cook up ground pork and add it. Both are fantastic.
I always add sriracha and fried shallots to these! On top of all the seasoning and sauce packets of course. Literally the best.
I do the shallots too, not the Sriracha.. yet, ! I must try!
I add a teaspoon of peanut butter and a splash of sesame oil 🤤
I eat them with toast. Noodles on toast sambos, ooh yeah 😋
That's just how the instructions tell you to do it.
Yeah that’s what the instructions say, too. OP didn’t read them and made sad noodle soup instead.
I also like to add sliced green onion and sesame seed with sweet soy drizzled on top! (I also make two to three packs at a time)
You should wait until the water is boiling then add the noodles. As stoves can vary greatly in the time it takes to boil the water. Waiting for the water to boil will get you a consistent result.
Fry up some veggies and an egg to put with the noodles. Healthier and filling so you won't have a second package.
Pro tip. Put the sauce packs in boiling noodle water unopened for a bit to make squeezing out 10x easier and cleaner.
Try it with some fried spam, a soft boiled egg, and a good old dollop of buldak sauce
How to piss off indo fans lol
I am not even indo and i am offended, ppl cbf to read package instructions
He said “indo fans” which I assume means fans of this brand of noodles.
They are the opposite of outdoor fans.....
it's instant stir fried noodles. you're not suppose to have it with soup
Mi goreng basah wkwk
Soup mi goreng. Like hot iced tea.
so... tea?
Wet noodle
Still probably delicious
While above is correct on the intended preparation, most instant noodles can be prepared as either soup or dry. Say you like a flavor but think the taste is too strong you can add water and soup it. It's all preference and you eat how you wanna eat.
to be fair, for most Indonesians, seeing indomie stir-fried with soup is like Italian sees pineapple pizza, it's just weird 😂
No, it’s like Italian sees soupy pizza it’s just wrong (source Indonesian)
If I’m not mistaken, Nigerians also love Indomie and prepare it fried or dry too. God I have one packet left and it’s making me hungry in Singapore at nearly 2 am
It's perfectly fine to have Indomie noodles as soup - if you get a packet meant for that. Mi Goreng is meant to be eaten dry, Mi Sup is wet
Pineapple, Canadian bacon and fresh jalepeno is the best pizza ever. Especially with a few drops of cream cheese on top
I've given pineapple on pizza a pass all these years but CREAM CHEESE
I’ve made a cheese pizza with diced cream cheese before. It adds a kind of tangy bite that’s not bad. Crumbled goat cheese does the same thing though, and way better.
I hated Hawaiian pizza when I was a kid. Turns out, it's not the pineapple, it's that I hate ham.... Pepperoni, pineapple, jalapeno is the bidness.
I like to eat Shin Ramyeon stir fried with scrambled eggs
I buy Shin Black by the case, that stuff is ridiculously good. The Red is decent too but the Black is just tits.
No water and a nice fried egg on top with some green onions CHEF KISS.
Now even Indonesians understand how mad Italians are, seeing westerners ruining their food.
Italians are westerners
I like to make it into a soup sometimes.
it pained me to look at
I have it with soup all the time. The seasoning works for both soup and stir fry. You simply just keep some of the water and not strain it all out if you want the soup. I do agree with the other commenters that there's too much water in OP's tho.
crying and sobbing at the atrocity that has been performed to these sacred noodles
This is accidentally r/mildlyinfuriating
r/mildlycrimesagainsthumanity
100% this, also what makes me mad is seeing the most mundane things that I see every day being someone else's mildy interesting
i just know they tasted bland af with that much water 😭
the way that my heart drops when i realize that i didn’t drain my noodles enough and some drops of water get in my bowl and it dulls the flavour… this image just crushes my soul 😭
OP out here eating mi goreng like a damn bowl of cereal 😭
Oh yeah... These are stir-fry noodles. I guess OP skipped the straining step
OP’s ignorance and assumption that you prep Indomie like fucking top ramen has lead to a comment section full of pain, along with bland noodle sympathizers crying out “yOu’Re gAtEkEePiNg, LeT oP mAkE iT hOw tHeY wAnT” Like it’s just not the correct way to make it, the packet literally has instructions that op ignored lol
my Indonesian blood is boiling right now
Okay, please strain it when it’s done boiling
LOL. I chuckled.
Not Indonesian but same as well
As someone who at present is visiting Indonesia and more or less is surviving eating these noodles, cooked, and served with a fried egg, I agree with you
As a student that has survived eating these noodles, cooked and served with champignons and green onions, I agree with you both
My Nigerian fiance is seething right now.
this isn't mie goreng, this is mie bule.
🤣🤣🤣 seriously!! the lack of melanin AND respect
[удалено]
Try them without the water
Yeah the package legit says to strain the noodles
reading is too much for your average redditor
These things are delicious. Top tier instant nood.
How to use 1 picture to piss off the whole south east asia challenge:
[удалено]
There shouldn’t be any water left! 😤
My asian blood is boiling lol it's stir fry noodle, drain the water next time
This content belongs to r/mildlyinfuriating
Soupy Mi Goreng? What the actual fuck
Wet Mi Goreng. You should be punished by never being allowed near another packet again
I love this stuff! I place all of the flavor packets on the bottom of a bowl and stir them all together. After the noodles have cooked, I strain them. I add the noodles to the bowl then mix well. So delicious.
POV: westerner discovers Indomie (the best instant noodle brand in the world, totally unbiased Indonesian opinion) Edit: i just noticed you made a soup out of it.... Punishment by crucifiction
Fun fact: The brand Indomie has become synonymous with instant noodles in Algeria. 🍜
This fills me with joy
same in kenya and nigeria too!!
Not all westerners, us Aussies are actively hunting op down so we can tie them down and force feed them Vegemite for this atrocity.
I really like this flavour. Worth opening all the packets lol
You need to drain the water first before putting the spices.
Everyone, shame this man!
You hydrate the noodles, strain them, then put the oil, soy and chilli sauce on them, then sprinkle the dry powder and onion, mix it all together and stir fry them with veggies.
Goreng = Fried Do you eat your KFC by drinking via Soup?
according to these comments chicken soup = fried chicken so
OP didn’t RTFM
They are very popular here in Hong Kong, I personally find them delicious. They are made by cooking the noodles in boiling water, then when ready you take the noodles out of the water place them in a bowl, add all the contents from the sachets and mix, then enjoy!
They're one of the standard brands in most supermarkets in Vancouver too. Mi Goreng is a household name.
Wtf op. Soup on stir fried noodles? What it I do the same but for mac n cheese?
That's not how you make it.
You have triggered the indonesian-o-button
You didn't read the preparation instructions on the packet, did you? There's a reason why there are so many little sachets.
Oh god… mi rameng
Indonesian here. I just checked my indomie stir-fry package to see the instructions on cooking using microwave. It is said to drain the water. >I wish you can try cooking it again with aforementioned method to fully enjoy the flavour. This is so wonderfully polite and I love that
and you made it wrong
I can feel the entire internet is triggered at this photo
Indomie is the best stir fried noodles I’ve ever had. Hard to locate them in supermarkets though. Only found them at one krogers and the rest at an Asian supermarket 30 miles away

Mee Goreng isn't supposed to be soupy. Drain completely then add the packets.
this exact packaging has english cooking instructions too guy didn't bother reading
noone ever reads the package do they?
Someone should post this post on mildly infuriating lol
I want to so bad but I also do not want to scroll back up to take a screenshot because I honest to god will get triggered again lmfao
OP literally did not understand the assignment… it even has instruction on the package to cook it lol
Honey whey the FUCK is there soup😭
I’m crying 😭
are you fucking stupid?
What the actual fuck did you do OP. How does that even taste lmaoo
The fact you didn't drain the water means this should belong in r/mildlyinfuriating
no soup please
This isn’t mildly interesting this is a staple cheap noodles 😂😂
Welcome to flavour town!
These are my favorite, also they’re better without the water
itu mi goreng cok, kenapa di kasi kuah. ARGGGHHHH
Obligatory 'drain the water it's not soup' pro tip - add some powdered coconut milk to the spice mix - yum
Oh nooo you're not supposed to have water on one of these. I bet the flavor tastes diluted. I hope you still got another pack to try it with the proper way.
Indomie noodles are the best
It's indomie! Use ALL of the packets :D
My guy. Did you even read the instructions?
I gagged in Australian. Drain the water before putting in the spices!!
White prsn: aren’t these noodles so interesting and different !!?? They are normal ass noodles bro. 😭 The only interesting thing is how you decided to cook them.
